She finally saw him as she was taking her seat in Defense Against The Dark Arts - he hurried into the classroom, textbooks clutched to his chest.

“Where were you?” she asked, looking at him with concern. “We were meant to have lunch?”

Dominic, the Ravenclaw she’d been dating the last few weeks since the start of the school year, blinked in surprise. “Oh Merlin, I completely forgot. I was trying to get ahead on that Charms essay.”

“Oh. Right.”

“Sorry, Lily,” he said, giving her a grimace. “It’s just so important. Tomorrow, yeah?”

He hurried on to his seat without her response, leaving Lily to sigh softly.

She took her own text book out of her bag, and set it on the table.

There was a long silence before she pursed her lips and finally addressed the boy lounging comfortably in his chair next to her.

“Go on. I can see by the amusement on your face that you’re dying to say something.”

Being partnered with Sirius Black in this class was the actual bane of her life.

He let out a short chuckle. “Don’t flatter yourself Evans, your love life really doesn’t interest me that much.”

She rolled her eyes and turned back to face the front of class.

“I just find it quite remarkable that you have such an issue with James being so ‘arrogant’,” he used his fingers as air quotes, “and yet you allow that idiot to treat you like that.”

She paused in surprise and turned to him again. “Excuse me?”

It had been a few days since Lily moved in and in that time she’d only seen James’ shapely arse running away from her during his morning jog. And once she swore she spotted both him and Sirius at Tesco’s but when she put her scandalous three bottles of white in her basket the pair had vanished.  Lily tried to not think too much of it. Maybe she’d just hallucinated them. Though she couldn’t help but recall the incident when she scavenged her bags for life together—despite having probably twenty at this point, she could never seem to find them— to do a big shop. She’d be hosting a few friends, and colleagues she trusted not to be creepy about knowing where she lived, for a housewarming. She’d figure out how to get said house ready before Saturday, right after she’d settled on a menu. If push came to shove, she could always… Well, shove everything into her bedroom and hope no one goes snooping.

Yeah, BlackEvans and Marlily is cool, but there's still some bad things in the past which they did and Lily needs people like from the coalition. You know what I want to see now? Lily skipping Slughorn dinners to hang out with this group. Pls make it happen.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

i think i have literally been talking about this for six months but i am working on a magical edwardian au that i am so very excited about, and the things i am most excited about in it that i haven't yet written are 1. a legilimency subplot 2. a "we're going to watch the opera" scene with tension and yearning 3. an ultra competitive game of whist featuring some fun blackevans time 4. weirdly hyperspecific potter family headcanons for the edwardian era i guess

i think about this fic a lot without writing it, in case that wasn't obvious

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

this bit from as it is i'll dream of her tonight:

Well, why not, thought James mulishly? Why not enjoy a few impossible things? Snow in May sounded like fun, damn it, and they were all in need of a bit of fun. [...] “Maybe it’ll snow tomorrow,” Peter offered. “It said three days.” James avoided any sympathetic gazes. Sometimes he felt ridiculous for holding onto hope.

no fancy prose or anything, but i like this bit because i feel like in a fic that was very james-focused and deep in his head this really struck at the heart of his motivations — that no matter how melodramatic and silly he can be (and certainly is here), he really cares so much and is so sincere about it

25. What part of writing is the most fun?

since i'm in a good mood today i want to say all of it, ha, but instead i'll pick what i've just been doing, which is picking out a bunch of plot bunnies and smoothing them out and stringing them together into a coherent whole. as much as it stresses me out when i inadvertently write with moving pieces, it feels SO fun to organise and reorganise and figure out how to make a story the best version of itself

Only Jily recently, but I started with some Maximum Ride stories that will never again see the light of day.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1. Dear Tuney (Jily smut at Petunia's party :o - WIP)

2. Potter and Evans (TLAT continuation - WIP)

3. Howlers and Nail Polish (old old old canon 6th-year Jily WIP)

4. Meeting the Potters (old old old olllllld Blackevans brotp vibes. Maybe the first Jily I ever wrote? But I don't completely hate it)

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Yes! Hypothetically! AAH! I'm a really sporadic Jily community member in general, and I always feel guilty about writing too slowly, so I tend to opt to write instead of responding when I have time, but I lovelovelove and always mean to respond to every comment.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

ummmm that's gotta be as-yet-unpublished Potter family fluff set on October 30th, 1981. But in terms of what's published right now, definitely Potter and Evans chapter 2.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Gonna be P&E ☺️ and I've written it even though you haven't seen it so it counts.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

No.......although sometimes I do daydream about what would happen if different authors' Jameses and Lilys met each other. Is that relatable to anyone? No? Just me, then? Okay.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Honestly, never! I've been super lucky, everyone's been so sweet. But I also haven't written that much tbf

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Um, yes. But only in ridiculous situations? For some reason I feel weird writing two adults having sex in their bedroom so I compensate with Nerf guns and other people's ghastly dinner parties lol

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No but this would be amazing!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, this would be awesome but I'd probably never finish my bit 🙈

What’s your all time favorite ship?

When the sex is so good you save the wizarding world

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Howlers and Nail Polish for SURE

What are your writing strengths?

I think dialogue (especially dirty talk, apparently!), and my Sirius—he's a lunatic, but I love him. I also think I'm good at writing fun and/or dramatic twists you genuinely don't see coming.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Description!!! Specifically, visual scene-setting and deep emotional dives. I write in my head before I write on the page, and I'm a very verbal person, so that means I either plan out dialogue or a specific inner monologue/memory, and meanwhile the scenery and people's physicalities and emotions are just...there. I know what they are. I was experiencing them during the daydream. Why can't readers just like.....sense the vibes from my brain?

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I've never tried, and I'm not great with languages, so I think I'd be nervous about getting it wrong.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Maximum Ride....they had wings and really canned comebacks, and I put them on a farm.

I've never been to a farm.

Let's never talk about this again.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Potter and Evans. It's the one I've put by far the most time into, and the thing I'm proudest of having done—it has changed and improved my writing far more than anything else I've ever done, because trying to mimic someone else's style makes you way, way more conscious of your own. Honestly recommend this as a writing exercise to everyone

Oh well, this’ll be long.

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Jily fic#3 - jily + a song from Evermore! It’s prompt from @women-inthe-sequel I chose the song willow since the song had been stuck in my head when she gave it (it’s been four months😅) and I’m not frequent in writing it😅 but I love working on this fic A LOT. One of my fav ideas ever

Jily fic#5 - Mostly BlackEvans brotp. It takes place in sixth year. I’m about 1k words in.

Jily fic#6 - a prompt from @babybirdling where James and Lily confess their love to each other. My fav part is how they confess it.

Jily fic#7 - again, a prompt. I add a few sentences to this fic at least once everyday! My fav part would be the ridiculousness that happens during a tournament in the fic.

Jily fic#8 - an unintentional prompt from @maraudersftw Its been about a week since I worked on it. My fav part is that it revolves around ice creams!

Jily fic#9 - again, an unintentional prompt from @maraudersftw and @majormaybe1. It’s a love square? Kinda? I hope. It’s based on the hc @majormaybe1 had - Minerva McGonagall and Euphemia Potter we’re best of friends. I work on this one constantly.

Jily fic#10 - never posting it. Constant in working on it.

what happens in Vegas au- my mind spiralled a lot. And now, the fic is nothing like the movie. It’ll be a Multi-chap and I’m just trying to figure out the whole plot now

What happens in Vegas au 2- the plot may or may not be the same as the movie’s. I just started writing yesterday. We’ll see what my crazy mind comes up with. It’s a oneshot

Jilytober fic- NEVER telling anyone anything about this (for now). But this fic is all I’m able to work on these days.

Winking Worries- it’s been a very long time since I worked on it lol. My fav part would be how oblivious Jamie and Lily are lol. It’s set in The Curly Squad universe.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

I’m sooo looking forward to writing love squares and the what happens in Vegas au multi chap. And I’m thrilled to finish Jily fic#3. It’s probably one of my favs I’ve written. I also have a very vague-ish idea to write a fic based on ‘London boy’ by Taylor Swift and ‘Getaway Car’ and ‘Cowboy like me’ both by Taylor Swift. I have quite a few other ideas as well which I’m pumped about.
