There are so many Blades moments I desperately want expanded upon! (Or: potential fanfics I don't see myself writing)

Moments that we never actually got to see (I am very nosy, I want to see):

Imtura going off about MC being dead and cursing out the group. How exactly did it go down? Why/How was Imtura especially "cruel" (her word) to Nia?

Nia apologizing to Tyril for the whole 'everything you thought you knew about magic was a lie, idiot' moment. Let's get over our religious trauma together!

Loola and Threep telling the party they're having babies. Everyone will be so excited! Let us have nice things!

And there are still so many character things I have questions about!

The Ash Empire was actively hunting Aerin, hoping to kill him. So... now that we're all in the same friend group, does Valax realize who he is? Does she care?? Do they bond over their unloving parents and the isolation of being a prince/princess?

While we're on the subject, give me actual apologies from Aerin and Valax. I don't remember MC ever getting one from either person!

Aerin, please confirm if you did or didn't know that Kade was being tortured in the Shadow Court's dungeon. If he knew Kade was there, did Aerin know Kade was MC's brother? Because that would really recontextualize his reassurances in the Deadwood. If Aerin didn't know, does he still feel bad about it? (He should!)

I want Nia, Aerin, and Elder Radimir to sit down and compare notes about corruption, then give MC (and by extension, me) a 3 hour powerpoint lecture about it.

I want to see Mal and Wren getting into that moment when they had an unspoken understanding not to tell MC about him going to the garden every day. Was Mal sneaking in? Was part of him hoping he'd get caught?

Did the common people have any affection for Baldur? Because, to me, this does not seem like the kind of behavior most people appreciate.

And who in the world is next in line to rule Morella? That seems important.

If anyone has thoughts or headcanons, I'd love to hear them!

MC needs help, Mal needs therapy, Nia was so mentally exhausted that we had Shadow!Nia, Tyril had his world rocked upside down, Imatura just lost her mom and is immediately back on the quest of saving the world.

When everything ends, they should be rewarded with very good therapists.

Am I an absolute gremlin for kind of shipping Aerin and Kade?

Because I love the potential for guilt and empathy. The initial panic of "Oh no, he's hot and under no circumstances should I be thinking about that." Not to mention they have a lot in common! I think they could have fun debating how the archives should be organized. I know they both have opinions.

I like to picture a re-meet cute when MC is like "Oh yeah, have you two ever actually met?" Aerin grins. “Briefly. He knocked me unconscious with one very impressive punch.” Kade laughs, blushing slightly. “Thanks.”

Both book/story/history lovers (In my heart, it took a while for some of the archivists to realize there was a different young, mild-mannered guy practically living there)

They're both what I loving refer to as 'indoor kids.' When you talk about being outdoors...

Similar sense of humor in the face of danger

If Aerin is imprisoned, Kade is the one who suggests getting info from him. So he clearly doesn't hold that much of a grudge

Very strong relationships with older siblings (in very different directions)

Good extrovert/introvert balance

Don't get me wrong, if you want Aerin, you should take him. And I do like Cherta. But... Aerin and Kade could be both fun and dramatic!

I have been so stuck on this! I do think the deception here is the Watcher telling you the dwarves are corrupted. What she says is, of course, vague enough to be applied to other things, but I read it as all applied to things that happen in Zaradun. That's my take!

An amulet- Light amulet in the crypts

Eyes that burn- The dwarves and their reflective eyes (?)

Loss and love- Cherta's grandma

A terrifying beast- Also Cherta's grandma

You will find a friend in an unlikely person in an unlikely place- Cherta in prison

You are being deceived- The Watcher

Ok but are we gonna find out who the deceiver is before the book ends

Cause I'm pretty sure Watcher wasn't the deceiver given what happened...
