After basically never listening to rwby soundtracks because I figured they were fun but mostly just tertiary stuff, I've been mainlining them in what amounts to a vacuum. I know some of the various fan theories and a few bits of WoG, but it's mostly poetry mechanics, abstract logic and pitch tracking for me, to determine who is singing which (part of) which song. Like seriously, my audio dysphasia means I often don't notice a song playing during the episode.
But I also come from an old family line of musicians) mathematicians. (One might say a rather famous one). Which apparently gifted me with pitch sensitivity despite being the black sheep. Which is good, because I'm also face blind a rely heavily on voice qualities to identify people. (Yes, I'm going somewhere with this).
So I heard something during the songs that I took for granted everyone could hear, that first pops up in v1 but doesn't stabilize until v4'ish when Casey's voice matured. She mostly defaults to the middle C (C4), can reach most the fifth (that's higher), and most the third (lower) and even spotted her hit the tippy top of the second by using a sort of falsetto.
She uses different pitch ranges for the four main characters. Weiss is the highest, notes swinging wildly within the fourth and up to three quarters into fifth. Ruby is firmly in the fourth. Yang stays mostly the same but will hit the border of third and frequently pops into the lower quarter of fifth. Blake is the lowest, often fully within third and lower third of fourth. (One of hers is where casey hit the border of C2).
Anyway, I just thought it was neat that casey managed to line them up (within her own limits) with the character's voice actors.
#fandom#rwby#rwby meta#nevermore is fun because#yang is in c4-c5#blake is c4-c3#but they harmonize dead center c4#worthy is funny because it's blake#but halfway through#they're are layered lines#higher up for yang#and those will meet up#to harmonize too#and don't get me started on#shine cold and forever fall#where three characters are singing#various parts#the three couples#three who fell in battle#and two mourners#respectively

This might be a lot so feel feee to ignore. All the A for Alex, all the C for Cíara, k for Katie 😈. And I’m also interested in S and I. But please please please only do as much as you want. I’m happy with anything!
OKAY HERE WE GO .
A1. She's very good at creative and artistic things. She learned to play the piano really fast when she was a kid. When she grew up she learned how to crochet watching tutorials on Youtube. Its something that comes very easy for her. Also she reads really fast. She loves reading since she's a kid. She had to stick with a Kindle when she started to travel with Dan because she couldn't carry that many books. She doesn't read Spencer Reid level of fast, but she is fast.
A2. The only thing she ever did besides school was piano classes and horse riding. Her mom sent her because it was "acceptable". She stopped with both around 10 or so, but went back on it in 2022.
A3. She ended up being really good at reading people. Really really good. It took her long, but then it was very helpful.
A4. She's not good at trusting people and open up to them. Dan was the biggest exception of her life. Then she's not good at all with sports of any kind. Good at Go karts yes, but that's it.
A5. Organizing stuff and masking. She’s really good at hiding how she feels and putting on the everything is ok face. Then she's incredibly good at her job. The boys had no idea how survived all their lives without Em around.
C1. We're answering this in another anon with a pic lol
C2. On her side curled into Dan with her arm over him, her head on his chest, and one of her legs over his. That or Dan sleeping all over her.
C3. Chill, quiet day. Reading or watching tv or curled up with Dan and she doesn’t need to move. Extra points if it's raining outside. A nap in the middle of the day its good too. Her favourite days on the farm are her and Dan on the porch swing or deck chair when it’s raining, so that's it.
C4. Homemade food makes her happy. She doesn't need a fancy restaurant. Give her a dinner at home with family or friends and she's a happy girl. The simpliest the food the happiest she is. Grace cooking? Em's happy.
C5. Dan. On the top of her list. A hug from him and it feels like the world is a better place. Then its Blake, Grace and Charlie.
K1. She never thought about it, but there was moments of "Maybe if I never existed". She was absolutely sure she was gonna die for being heartbroken while she was in Liverpool and she was sadly at peace with it. It’s was totally passive. She wasn’t going to do anything to kill herself. But if a car came speeding at her she wouldn’t jump out of the way. At least that way she would stop suffering.
K2. Oh absolutely yes. During 2022.
K3. Without blinking. She would go for Br*wn's head without thinking twice.
K4. Nearly everyone who ever met her. Her family and friends would be destroyed, but Dan? He could never come back from that. Ever. It would kill him.
K5. In 2021/2022? Br*wn. And then maybe her own parents.
I1. Bi-curious but never kissed a girl. Never had the chance.
I2. She always knew if a nice lady asked her out she would have tried. She’s always thought “I like them I think.”, but never had the chance.
I3. Not really, she's happy as she is. Maybe a tiny bit as a kid but it was more she wanted the freedom boys got than to actually be a boy.
I4. Her parents would make a scandal. They would have sent her to conversion therapy. Dan would be more than okay with it, same with his family and their friends. As long as she's happy is all good.
I5. She never really did. She and Dan have conversations where they both say they find men and women hot, but she doesn’t really come out. She doesn't have the need to do it.
S1. Absolutely yes. She always had to look after herself, so she didn't really have another option.
S2. Yes, without a doubt.
S3. Nop, never. She doesn't do that at all. She totally runs from them.
S4. Nothing ever happened to her in the streets but that’s because she’s introverted and street smart. And paranoid as hell.
S5. She’s super cautious when she’s out. Even before Dan her keys were between her fingers while walking home, just to be sure.

Not wholly sure how this works but I figured I'd send a couple of requests as one to see if you liked any XD OK, Bumbleby, A2 for Blake, A1 for Yang for character + expression. Roby C3 with Fiona as A 3 for so F***ing done. For the fina one, Joana D4 standing behind May who is B1 or C4, implying either Joanna's support & May's smugness or or mutual annoyance.
16 Days till RWBY returns!
I’ll be doing the other parts of this requests so keep an eye out :3

Do you think it’s possible that Ruby might start seeing Yang and Blake differently after she finds out they killed someone?
Itdepends Miggy. Will Yangactually tell her little sister that she and Blake killed Adam together? For all we know, the group could reunite and whileBlake is giving the details of what happened, when she starts to havedifficulty saying that she killed Adam, Yang chimes in and lies on her behalf.
Imean the show could just as easily have Yang and Blake admit to the group thatthey killed Adam and have them all understand that it was in pure self-defence.However, I think it would be an interesting twist ifAdam’s deathbecomes another lie or secret Yang keeps from the team. One that she shares withBlake.
After all, Yang nevertold the others the truth about her mother being the Spring Maiden. I’mactually interested in the concept of Yang not telling the group they murderedAdam, just for the sake of seeing how that would affect her sense of moralitygoing forward.

What was itthat Ozpin told Yang last season? It’s not his intention to deceive anyone butthere are just some secrets he prefers to play close to the chest? And as wesaw from C3, Oz was more or less in the right for keeping his past with Salem asecret due to the pain of what it represented. He was even just in hiding thedetail about Salem’s immortality because it ended up resulting in the samedistressed and negative reaction as one would expect from such news.
It’d be interestingto me if Yang starts to slowly become more like Ozpin. Keeping certain secrets close to the chest outof concern of how the truth might affect their relationship with their peers. Perhaps thisway, she’d understand Ozpin a bit more which could help in her forgiveness ofhim.

Speakingof which, I’m not convinced the heroes have forgiven Ozpin. I mean, since Ozhasn’t been addressed since C4, I doubt his Isolation Period is over. As a matter of fact, the last mention of Oz was in C7 when Ruby openly admitted to Maria that shewasn’t sure if she could trust Ozpin again in the event of his return. If Ruby Rose, one of our most trusting and optimistic characters in RWBY---the heart of the heroes admits she’s still distrustful of Oz then can youimagine what the others might think?

Andwhat about Qrow?Has he forgivenOzpin? Has he comes to terms withthe things he told Oz? Does he even regret his words? From last glance, itdoesn’t look that way. As I said, the group’s feelings toward Oz are somethingthat has yet to be properly addressed and resolved.
Iactually hope the Writers don’t pull a rush job and have the whole Ozpin debacleresolved in the finale like the entire season didn’t happen at all. Anotherreason I want the Ozpin Isolation Arc tobe extended is so I can see how it could affect the events of theAtlas Arc in the event that the group reunite with GeneralIronwood.
A part of me has ahunch that even if Oscar were to reunite with Oz within his mind, Oz might notbe too keen on returning just yet. Eitherthat or he does return and although things are good between Oscar and Ozpin, the same can’t be said for Ozpin’s relationship with the remainder of the team, especially Qrow.

SoOscar ends up becoming a sort of middleman between himself, Ozpin and the groupsince the rest of the heroes (short of Maria, of course) all have mixedfeelings regarding the old Wizard and the feeling is mutual with Oz whichunfortunately places Oscar in an uncomfortable position.
Thatcould be an intriguingpossibility. Another possibility is the idea of Ozpin downright refusing to return.Rather than helping Oscar when he asks for his, to further prove how much Ozhas given up during his absence, he ends up relinquishing all power andknowledge of the Oz-cane to Oscar so that he may fight without him while Ozburies himself deeper inside Oscar’s mind; demanding that the farm boy justleaves him alone.
Thisis another option that could be cool. We get Oscar at full power and get to seehim really take on the Mantle of Wizard of Light butat the cost of losing Ozpin yet again and it straining the relationship betweenthe two souls even further when they’re supposed to be working as one sincethat is essentially what the Merge embodies. This can also work. I actually like this idea much better since it rains infocus on the relationshipbetween Oscar and Ozpin which isimportant to their inevitable fusion.
WatchingOscar become more accepting of his fate while Ozpin becomes more resistant toit and the world around him could be a very compelling twist and change incharacter arcs and motivations. Buuuuut…as always these are just my speculations andhunches. Both for Yang and Blake as well as Ozpin and Oscar.

OST Dc Comics The Music Of: Vol. 2 LP 2019
A must-have for fans, this compilation features selections from over 80 years of recordings from a variety of DC Comics movies, television shows, animated series, videogames, and radio shows. Whether it's in the panels of a comic or the frames of a TV show or film, heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash are always a sight to behold. But let's not overlook how they sound. Whether it's the iconic, influential work of master composers like John Williams, Shirley Walker or Hans Zimmer, the retro kitsch associated with shows like 1966's Batman or 1973's Super Friends, or the poppy, irresistible hooks of the recent DC Super Hero Girls theme, 'Get Your Cape On,' DC has a long legacy of unforgettable music.
The Music of DC Comics: Volume 2 features 29 songs from beloved movies, television shows, games and radio shows including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, Injustice: Gods Among Us, The Dark Knight Rises, Supergirl, Gotham and The Flash, including eleven songs that have never before been released. New post from the NAACP: President and CEO of the NAACP Issues Condemning Statement in the Shooting of Jacob Blake. by Marc Banks
Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, issued the following statement regarding the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Wisconsin father of three:
“The appalling and heinous shooting of Jacob Blake is yet another stark reminder of the free-willing atrocities committed against Black people at the hands of those entrusted to maintain public safety. This recent shooting comes on the heels of civil unrest that has caused the world to take heed to a long-standing pandemic of systemic racism and injustice.
The unfortunate and sobering reality is that Black men and women are under perpetual fear of having their life taken from them at any given moment while engaging with police officers. In a country where the phrase, “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” epitomizes “unalienable rights,” Jacob Blake is another prime example, in a succession of individuals, that the promises of this nation ring hollow for too many to be meritorious.
At this moment, the work of the American people is clear and unquestionable; we must continue to fight, organize, and mobilize against police brutality, and state-sanctioned killings at the hands of law enforcement. While the visions of Jacob Blake, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless others play over and over in our minds, we must not grow weary until we’ve achieved police liability and substantive change is realized. If there was ever a time for us to unite against a common threat to the existence of Black people, it is now.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jacob Blake, his family, and friends, as he continues to fight for his life and to return to his children.

About NAACP
Founded in 1909 in response to the ongoing violence against Black people around the country, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is the largest and most pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation. We have over 2,200 units and branches across the nation, along with well over 2M activists. Our mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.
The NAACP is a c4 organization (contributions are not tax-deductible), and we have a partner c3 organization known as NAACP Empowerment Programs (contributions are fully tax-deductible as allowed by the IRS).
NOTE: The Legal Defense Fund – also referred to as the NAACP-LDF was founded in 1940 as a part of the NAACP, but separated in 1957 to become a completely separate entity. It is recognized as the nation’s first civil and human rights law organization and shares our commitment to equal rights.

One thing I'd like to see this volume/maybe during a flashback while everyone's out looking for Oscar is seeing someone from RNJR asking Oscar what it's like to basically have be 2 people in one body. Or if the flashback shows a scene where RNJR, especially Ruby where trying to get to know Oscar & at one point Ruby mentions the book that Blake was reading back in V1 "The man with 2 souls." Maybe this conversation along with V5 C5 ends up being what brought them close/cemented their friendship.
That’swhat I’m talking about Nite. This is why I’m hoping that C9 is an Oscar-worthyflashback episode with more memoriesfrom Mistral with Oscar’s time with RNJR.
Ilike your idea about one of the RNJR crew asking Oscar about what it’s likesharing a body with Ozpin. Technically thatwas the question Ruby asked him back in V5 C3. She basically asked him if it was weird having another soul in his body.
Nora: Did he age backwards?Jaune: He’s possessed!Ren: Or reincarnated?Ruby: Oh, isn’t it weird?
Outof RNJR, Ruby seemed the most curious about Oscar’s predicament as the Man withTwo Souls so if there’s anyone I’d expect to question the farm boy further onthis, it’s her since she seemed to most enthusiastic about knowing more.

Ifwe are granted that full episode with RNJR Oscar-themed memories from Mistralthen here are the memories I’d love to see:
Oscarsharing a trainingsession with Jaune after finding himtraining at night like Ruby did during V4. Ruby did pull those two together in V5 C4,so I’d love a sort of continuation ofthat scene where Oscar gets a shot at training with Jaune on how to parry withthe Oz-cane. The same way how Pyrhha was able to teach Jaune, I’d love it ifthe two shared a small bonding moment like that. Perhaps Jaune and Oscar have alittle spar while Oscar asks Jaune about the Pyrhha recordings he still listensto. Mind you, by the time Oscar meets with RNJR in Mistral, we’re not sure ifQrow informed him and Oz of Pyrhha’s death.
I’dlike to think there’s a missing Mistral memory where Jaune tells Oscar (and Oz)about Pyrhha through a one-on-one training match. We know that Oscar learnedabout Pyrhha’s sacrifice from Ruby. Maybe Jaune will tell him the same storybut from his point of view from the night Beacon fell. About how powerlessJaune felt being so helpless that Pyrhha had to send him away while she wentoff to fight alone. We can all assume that the reason Jaune pushes himself sohard is so that in the event of a crisis, he’ll never let another one of hisfriends go off to fight by themselves.
He’ll be there to fight alongside them.To protect them. He won’t be a liability to anyone anymore. He’ll be the best support he can be. That’s what Jaune confides in Oscar andthe two make a promise to spar again anytime Oscar is up for it. An excuse to see these two actually getting along.

Mynext Mistral memory idea I’d love to see is with Lie Ren. We all know that Ren isbasically thekey chef of the heroes, right? Perhaps…on thefirst night after Oscar had first moved in with RNJR and had fully integratedinto their group, Ren decided to cook a celebratory dinner of known Mistraliandelicacies that he felt Oscar would like.
Rememberwhat Ruby told Oscar back in V5 C5? She said “Come on, if you don’t hurry, Nora’s going toeat everything. It wouldn’t be the firsttime.”
Perhaps…this could be Ren’smemory with Oscar. Ren preparing the freckled farm boy a feast to help him feelwelcomed onto the team only for Nora to greedily eat the whole thing; much toRen’s dismay as all his hard work went right into his girlfriend’s stomach.Imagine Nora devouring Oscar’s celebratory feast and Oscarsmoothing it over by saying he also likes pizza or some other takeout dish thatthe group decide to go out and eat instead. I’d love it if that’s Oscar’smemory with Ren.
Perhaps cooking meals for guests is something Ren rememberedas a customary tradition from his childhood living with his family in Kunoyuriand it’s a tradition he wants to uphold given the fact that he lost his familywhich he will tell Oscar. Who knows? Maybe after Ren tells Oscar that helost both of his parents to a Grimm that took over his entire village, Oscarwill disclose that he also lost both of his parents and that’s why he wasliving with his aunt before. That’s how I can see Oscar and Ren bonding.

Nextup on the Mistral memory list is Nora Valkyrie. I’m trying to come up with ideasthat already tie into things in revealed in the canon. The only thing I canthink of to connect Oscar to Nora is ironically the ‘Cute Boy Oz’ nickname.Despite Ozpin telling Nora not to call him that back in V5, when Nora shoutedit in V6 C7,I noticed that Oscar actually looked up as he heard it. He acknowledged the nickname. I knowthis could be a small coincidinks however now I’m thinking of a memory fromMistral where Oscar came to accept that his new pet name for Nora’s sake.
LikeI’m imagining a memory where Nora keeps calling Oscar by that pet name and himbeing really uncomfortable with it at first until one day Nora pulls Oscar asideand explains why she calls him by a nickname. It’s because it’s her way ofwelcoming Oscar into their little family circle. What if…Nora even goes on to revealthat when she looks at Oscar, she sees him as the kid brother she would have liked to haveif she still had her family; hinting at her past.
Afterthat, Oscar started to allow Nora to call him that as his way of accepting heras the big sister he would have liked to have. I think that’s a cute way toshow Nora and Oscar bonding and it can fit into the canon. But it’s just anidea.
Finally, there are the Mistral Memories with Ruby Rose. Since Ruby is currently the closestperson to Oscar on the heroes’ squad, I’m going to be biased and give her two memories instead of one. Remember how helpful to Ruby Oscarwas back in V5 C5?What if…thereis a follow-up memory that ties into the first part of V5 C8. After Yang stormed off whenshe revealed she was still angry towards Blake for leaving, Ruby surprisinglywasn’t the one to go talk to her. As we know, it was Weiss and Ruby only showedup by the end to see if everything is okay.
What if…there is a missing memory from that episode where Ruby sought out Oscar foradvice after how helpful he was back in V5 C5 and she and Oscar shared anothernice chat with one another which basically ends in Oscar telling Ruby to trustin Weiss to help her sister. Ruby may be the leader and the voice of reason andguidance among the heroes but she’s just as fragile aseveryone else. She may possess a quantifiable spark that inspires others in thedarkest of times but she should also take better care of her own mentalitybecause while she’s busy mending everyone else, who’s there to keep her fromfalling apart?
That’swhat I like most about the Rosebuds and findvery interesting about Oscar’s rapport with Ruby. By my observation, Oscar hasdesignated himself as someone to look out for Ruby and keep her from losing herspark. He’s there as a support for her and I’d love a memory that cements thatabout their friendship.
Anothermemory I’d like to see is one that takes place during Oscar’s recoveryfollowing the Battle of Haven and before the group leave for Argus. V6 C2 highlighted Ozpin being the one to speak to thegroup after regaining consciousness. I’d like it if we got a moment where Rubyshows up in Oscar’s room to check up on how he’s doing before everyone departs. And from this memory, Oscar will reveal the final clue to where he would go inArgus.
Sincemy theory is that Oscar will be found at the Wall of Argus, what if…ina past memory, Oscartold Ruby that once the team arrived in Argus, he’d love to visit the Wall since he heard that the Argus Wall is one of thetallest places in Remnant and he wanted to go up there just to watch thesunrise. So Ruby makes a promise for the two to see the sunrise together fromthe Wall once they’ve settled things in Argus. That’s when Ruby will get theidea to go to the Wall.
Again, they did not make Oscar look up at the Wall in C7 for kicks. This is wherehe’ll be found looking at the sunrise, at least by my theory.
Butyeah, these are all just my ideas of things I’d love to see from the MissingFarm Boy Arc. I could be wrong but, again, I’m hope I’m right at least aboutseeing memories from Mistral with RNJR and Oscar. I’d really love to see that.
