Do we think that in a way mclaren’s juggling the philosophy of being the underdogs, playing down troubles with the car, trying to seem perfect, taking Zero responsibility of strategy missteps in the post race debrief, shamelessly letting media and fans poke at their driver’s mental state goes against lando’s approach to be being open, honest and vulnerable? Which is why the whole championship mentality thing is pushed by Mclaren to dismiss lando?

All this juggling is making them look like clowns in the paddock 🤡🤡🤡

actually wait i'm still angry with how dts ran with the storylines it ran. someone in redbull/alphatauri management decided that yuki wasn't ready despite approaching his third year on the time and instead they put pressure on an f1 rookie and then gave both of them a dogshit car

then proceeded to mentally torture nyck to the point where he was getting desperate, making him crash out during races

both yuki and nyck deserved so much better, alphatauri was literally stated to be the testing ground for future redbull drivers and they had no faith in the one that has been with them? yuki is going to make like alex and leave the team for another backmarker team and revive the hell out of them because this is so bullshit

and once alphatauri got the feedback they needed from nyck, they dropped him and pulled daniel in to do the same to checo

and no, it was not daniel that ultimately got alphatauri's eighth place. yuki alone had 17 points, one more than alfaromeo combined. yes, daniel's 7th place in mexico gave hope, but even if nyck stayed at the bottom of the driver's championship with 0 points, yuki would've beaten alfaromeo single-handedly

i remember watching it live being extremely endeared by fred calling him charlie. i mean, it's not ultra defensive, but it's a pretty neutral / not-slandering-the-home-favorite answer that makes it clear it's not charles' fault.

i did go back to check christian's answer as a comparison because i was curious:

"Yeah I mean look, it was a great shame to lose Checo. He got a great start and good run down to turn one and... You know, Charles, I think you got to call it a racing accident. Three into 1 never goes and Checo was squeezing, Charles had no where to go, and contact was unfortunately made and that was it."

interestingly, very similar. arguably because that is the only logical answer/explanation of what happened. but i mean... christian does say "three into turn one never goes"... and checo was the one who made it three across. and checo is his driver, so there is no reason for him to be as neutral about charles as fred is, for instance.

if you have the "worst defense" in the league do you think maybe MAYBE it's because you're using the majority of your cap space to pay your quarterback? a quarterback who has been consistently not playing well since last year? therefore not being able to build a strong defense and on the cusp of losing your best receiver, like did you ever think about that?
