It's all fun and games imagining scenarios until I get too attached to MCU TV Daredevil Canon and Karen becomes inextricably related to Urich's death. Pete bugs Murdock over knowledge on a current case (for an "interview", but its Spiderman business too) until Karen spots him and recognizes him as Urich's kid and he has never gotten out of somewhere so fast while staying on the ground.
How do you handle grief you thought you'd buried enough it would never hurt you again? How can you look someone in the eyes and stop yourself from admitting you could have saved him?
And on Karen's side, how do you not ask? What if you finally get answers for what truly happened? What if you've found someone who might fully understand losing him?

"Wouldn't it be funny if ITSV Noir were comic-canon aged and just unexplainably voiced by Nicholas Cage" no no no, please do consider instead: Like every younger spiderman, he's doing A Voice and just manages to be more believable than them

I wonder if pete dreams of being on that boat again sometimes. If he looks back, he'll see the island, but if he looks forwards, he'll have to face that he didn't get on the same one as Robbie because he couldn't face that.
So he stares out at the water instead. Silent. Just the subtle rock and tilt on deck. Cloudy night

thinking about peni again
Thinking about her getting fearfully attached to an idealized version of her younger self that was happier. Playing up her energy and wit because she thinks its what she has to be, and she misses not having to worry so much and press on through responsibility.
But never really feeling like she's known by anyone. People think they get her, but they don't. She's a young star, a brilliant student of the program, the lead Pilot - We know in canon that people look up to her. But then she sheds first the SP//DR mech, next her suit, finally the face she puts on, and she's alone in her room with only herself

For a while, Peni attempted to keep up appearances of her pre-canon more chipper self by using a voice modulator built into her suit. Send post

I think it'd be fun if Felicia Hardy had, by 1933, a storied history of criminal work that meant that she had killed before. She gets away with these things because she's crafty, she's capable. she has a small criminal enterprise to back her, and also - just a bit - perhaps she seems too clean, too kind, too pretty to be a murderer (read: misogyny of the times).
So when Norman Osborn blames the murder of ""J. Jonah Jameson"" on her hiring The Spider-man, its an almost hilarious admittance of ignorance. Oh, you think I would do that? That's cute.

This started off quite simple, and it started out with wanting a non-evil portrayel of the Spider God. It quickly became far too long for me to put fully succinctly.
But it goes something like this:
You are a God of stories. Perhaps you weave them, perhaps you have taken them from others, perhaps you simply annotate in the margins of pre-existent ones. What matters most is that this is how you live - telling tales.
You yourself are a story, in this sense, one believed and beloved. It is through being cherished that you preside over humanity, and through this you grow close to its storytellers. Humanity, and its writers, are your anchor. The more compelling a story, the more your chance of survival.
And then, like any aged tale, you are forgotten. You struggle to remain in the consciousness of the dwindling number that aknowledge you. You exist soley, desperately, in the artifacts they once gifted you. Others come and leave. Others from further prey on the needy, the hungry. Your likeness is sold to the nearest collector for a family's dinner. You can't fault them.
This happens in a cycle, and with every hand you pass between, more of you is lost - names go easy, and easier still, oral tradition. Then its location, context, years lost to the murk of black market archeological sales.
You land in the hands of Norman Osborn's people. You are starving, tired, barely corporeal in the land of the people you once loved. You are an ocean from your inception, in both distance, years, and memory.
And they have the gall to drop you.
With what little you have left, but yet sheer scraps, you manifest and strike out in vengeance. This is not to help you, nor is it strategic - you're furious, betrayed by the slow bleed-out death of culture and the long dream of imperialism. You sink your teeth in. You make quick work of the pawns of one in a long line of fools.
This will not save you.
But in this process, by the whims of this narrative even you are bound to, you chance upon someone else. What is special isn't necessarily who he is, so much as it is what surrounds him. He's motivated, so much that its eating him alive, towards goals you recognize are completely impossible. His idealism will kill him.
But first he will live. And he will live longer than perhaps he would expect - because this story is stubborn, as are you.
It might just be what you need.
And after all, what's more compelling this era than a tragedy?

sam's "nobody will care so we have to do this ourselves" self-sufficiency only barely ebbing away as he accepts help from matt alone VS sam's newly nailed into him "You can trust only yourself and must have complete control of your mind and body; you are your own weapon and must rely only on this" Hand teachings FIGHT

Okay, yes, he's miserable and has a pessimistic streak and a list of personal troubles miles long, but please consider: Noir Peter was raised working in and around the Welfare Center in a close family unit among hundreds of guests for years, he assumedly then works further with the Bugle, and if you want him doing freelance detective work, that also requires lots of social knowledge. He might often not know how to help himself, but he's not terrible helping support others - perhaps moreso than other spiderpeople his age.

In my heart, Noir Peter, especially as Spiderman, is the type to Just Leave when he doesn't like a particular situation. The conversation topic spirals into something he dislikes and he's already halfway up a wall aiming for Anywhere Else.
Goes "Well," and gets up, silently brushes past someone and vanishes off into the dark. See you, space cowboy spider detective.

What if Aunt May's eyesight was also poor, and she can't see all the scratches and healed fractures on Pete's face as clearly as other people can. What if she refuses glasses because she's too stubborn to accept help. What if she refuses to see how much her boys changed

Yeah yeah Pete has trouble memorizing color names and the differences between cold/warm and pallettes, we've all heard of this.
But what if on a whim Ham tried teaching the gang how to use hammerspace and Pete picked it up instantly.

Noir's universe is a 21st-century telling of a Noir-genre-alike but still visibly full of era inaccuracies and 21st Century stylistic flairs to me. Incongruous with any true time period and more stage-drama than grit with lots of monologuing.
Pete's universe would be either rotoscoped or filmed if we'd permit such a sharp divergence in style - and perhaps hand-colored. Realistic and weighty and just a bit less forgiving.
