My friend and I, while we waited for our other friend to get out of class, sat in our usual seats - seats where we could watch attractive people walk by and be silently obnoxious about the things we would do to them.

There is this couple - a very alternative couple (per say of better words) - who we kind of watch like a realty TV show. 

I don’t mean we stalk them everywhere they go or search their social media - I mean whenever they walk by we get excited because they both share the same style (and hair color). 

It’s one of those things only best friends would understand. An inside joke, yeah. 

So, with this couple we survived the lovey - dovey sessions in the library and the break ups (we assumed by the lack of holding hands and seeing  them together during the day). 

We basically know them. 

But have never once spoken to either of them. 

Today, we saw the guy with another girl. 

! Shocker alert !

My friend and I, being the overdramatic Kardashian lovers that we are, grabbed our snacks and sat back waiting to see what was about to go down. 

The OTHER girl gets up and leaves and five minutes later the girlfriend shows up - with a look on her face that me and my friend took as a little upset. 

Not being able to hear a single word she said to him,  we watched him get up and give her the cold shoulder. She silently followed after he got a head start. 

Easy to say, she might have been a little more than upset and my friend and I were a little more than shook as to what we may have just witnessed. 

Just goes to show folks, even the cutest couples have their issues.

THE MISSING PIECE

          You went to bed after a long, exhausting day. You feel very grateful and lucky for going through another day of your life, but then you suddenly realized that there is something off. Out of all you’ve gone through and experience on your journey, there seem to be something that is missing, and the interesting thing is you don’t know what it is. Many of us are actually lucky and blessed that we are in great health, safe in our homes, and most importantly, we eat more than we actually should. Isn’t that the basic needs of human beings to live? Of course, it is. We are all very grateful that we got to live this life. However, for some weird reason, there is something else missing, and you don’t know how to fulfill it without knowing what it is in the first place.

Recently, there was a drama series on Netflix called “Sex/Life”. It was about a wife with an astounding husband, beautiful kids, a good career, and basically a grandiose life. She was truly living the American dream, but deep inside, she always knew that there is something lacking in her life She lately discovers that it was the wild sex she had with her ex-husband, eight years ago. She then tries to fulfill her desire by having an affair with her ex-boyfriend, and basically ruining her picture-perfect life. It is studied that when life gets too perfect or too good to be true, we tend to find a way to make it flawed. We have this uncanny mindset of creating our own problems or issues when we find that there is none. Therefore, even if we do get to fill-in that missing piece we always seek, we always find something else missing to think about. So, it is all just a cycle that never ends apparently, and we definitely have to find a way to deal with it, to learn to live with it.

All our life, we have always been taught that we need to work hard to fulfill our dreams and desires in life, but have we actually thought about what happens next? After a journey filled with sacrifices, pain, and perseverance, towards our goal, we feel uncertain and quite disappointed. We begin to feel this void and the lack of motivation to go on. Because dreams are not meant to come true. We may use this as our daily motivation and an end goal in sight, but it is never meant to be fulfilled. We must fully accept that there will always be a missing piece in our lives that we may never be aware of, or we may never get to fulfill no matter how much we yearn for it. That missing piece will be the new motivation, it is a virtue we need to value throughout our lives. Without that missing piece, life would be meaningless, mundane, and insignificant. Our lives do not have the purpose for dreams to be fulfilled, but instead it is to live with unfulfilled dreams.
