Day 13: The Company We Keep
Pairings: Robert âBobâ Floyd x fem!reader
Synopsis: one by one, your friends cut you off after you cost Bob his life in a tragic accident.
Warnings: death, ejections, plane crashes, depression, nightmares, insults & abandonment.
Word count: 1.2k

You remembered everything as if it was yesterday. Every time you closed your eyes, you could still hear his screams. The pained sounds your WSO let out as the two of you plummeted toward the ground haunted your mind when you were alone. If you had your way, you never would have ejected from that jet. You would have gone down with him. The shrink you had been forced to see called it survivor's guilt. Honestly, you didnât care what it was called. You just wanted this feeling to go away.
In the aftermath of the accident, your friends had become your support system. They were there for you in the dark nights when you woke up to the sound of his screams. Phoenix had held your hair up when you were throwing up in the middle of the night. Jake had forced you to scarf down some food when all you wanted was to disappear. Bradley had practically shoved you into the shower after many days of you neglecting the idea of hygiene. While you appreciated all of their help, none of their actions made the ache in your chest disappear.
Because the thing was, Robert Floyd wasnât just your backseater. He was so much more than that. You loved him more than anyone else in the world. However, you never got the chance to tell him exactly how much he meant to you. You were the reason that Bob had died. It was all your fault that the WSO had lost his life, scared and alone. For that, you would never forgive yourself.
No matter how much the rest of the Dagger Squad tried to convince you that it wasnât your fault, you still couldnât find any reason to believe him. You were his pilot. It was your responsibility to protect him and you had failed.
Just over three months ago, you and Bob had been sent on a mission alone. You were informed that the two of you would be more than enough to take care of the problem at hand. That, however, was not the case. Things had gone sideways mere moments into the mission. Before you knew it, your jet was struck with a surface-to-air missile. Pinned forward, Bob was unable to reach the ejection handle. You, however, were unaware of that.
Had it not been for the sheer panic that filled that moment, you would have been able to detect the fear in his voice. You would have noticed when he lied to you about being right behind you. He promised that he would follow only seconds behind you. You just had to eject. Against your better judgment, you had listened to him. You watched, horrified in mid-air as your jet crashed into the mountainside and erupted into flames. A second parachute never came from your jet. The thought had you feeling numb as you fell toward the ground. Now, here you were, crying into Jakeâs arms after waking up from your third nightmare that night.
However, as much as you tried to ignore it, you couldnât quite block out the other reason you felt so terrible. Ever since the accident, members of the Dagger Squad had slowly begun to distance themselves from you. Bobâs death had taken a toll on everyone, and while you would argue that you were the most affected, not everyone seemed to agree with that.
The first one to step away was Fanboy. You simply chalked it up to him being upset over the loss of one of his best friends. That was until Coyote and Payback began coming up with excuses to hang out with anyone but you. Honestly, the thought hadnât had too much of an impact on you until Phoenix began pulling away. She was your best friend. After losing Bob, you couldnât stand the thought of losing her too. One by one, your friends began to disappear from your life.
You couldnât really blame them. Not when you were responsible for taking the life of one of their best friends. Everything finally fell apart when you heard Rooster and Hangman talking. You had just come down the stairs, expecting to find the two passed out in various positions in your living room. Instead, you found them in your kitchen, Bradley sitting at the table with Jake leaning on your counter. His arms were crossed over his chest. Just as you were about to round the corner and make your presence known, Jake began speaking.
âAt the end of the day, sheâs the reason heâs dead, Bradshaw,â A hand slapped over your mouth in an attempt to muffle your cries. You knew why this was coming up now. The therapist you had been seeing had finally cleared you to return to work. Jake only proved your theory when he spoke next. âHow are we supposed to be up in the air with her now? How are we supposed to trust her?â
Bradley nodded from his seat at your table. âI know, man,â Your entire body was shaking. These were the people that you trusted your life with. It killed you inside knowing that they couldnât do the same. However, you couldnât really blame them. After all, you were the reason that the entire Dagger Squad had to attend Robert Floydâs funeral. It was all your fault. âShe canât be trusted anymore. Itâs as simple as that. Honestly, Iâm not even sure why she was cleared to fly again.â With that, they shared a laugh. It was as if everything you were going through was comical to them.
Doing your best to wipe your tears away, a soft sniffle escaped you. They were your best friends. You had just lost the man you loved and now you were finding out that you couldnât even rely on them to help you through this. Sure, in the beginning, everything had been better. You had your support system there for you whenever you needed them. Lately, your support system had been walking further and further away from you.
So, you sucked it up and walked around the corner. The shocked faces on both of their faces would have brought a small sense of joy to you had you not felt numb inside. âIf you donât want to be here, you can leave,â You started, pointing at the door with a shaky finger. âI know that I fucked up, but I certainly donât need to hear it from you.â With that, you walked out of the room and back to your bedroom, locking the door behind you.
You didnât care whether or not they left. All you wanted to do was go back to how things were. With no one around to force you out of it, you fell back into the same state you were in after you lost Bob. Your friends had turned their backs on you, and yet you couldnât find it in you to care anymore. The only person you wanted was Bob. Even though you knew you could never get him back, he was the one person on your mind as you drifted off. Tears stained your pillow as memories of the accident plagued your mind. This time, there was no one to wake you up when the horrors seemed too real to handle.

When you catch him pacing the armory alone, you take what you want. But when you tell him to stay quiet and be good... Bob doesnât stay quiet. And he definitely doesnât stay good.
Word count: ~4k

masterlist.
"Quiet, Bob."
The words came out as a whisper, but the threat in them made Bob Reynolds shiver under your touch. His back hit the cold armory wall with a clang, head tilting back, mouth already parted on a moan. His shirt was god knows whereâsomewhere between the racks of rifles and dusty, outdated StarkTech. Your mouth was on his, tongue sliding deep, fingers fisting his curls like you needed an anchor. And Bob? He was already halfway gone.
It had been a long, brutal week.
Valentina had decided that the Thunderboltsâthe shiny New Avengersâneeded a rebranding for a more "palatable" public. And what better way than a grueling, nonstop, goddamn press tour?
You were paraded like collectibles. Forced smiles. Posed photos. Tactical suits are tailored to make you look sleek. Heroes for the modern age, like she'd said.
Like a fucking boy band.
You were all lined up and put on display like action figure dolls.
"Smile for the cameras," she'd coo, pacing in front of you like a general inspecting her soldiers. "We're selling salvation, not trauma. Wipe that frown off your face, Bucky."
Bucky didnât even flinch. Just stared through her, arms crossed, his metal hand twitching like it wanted to be anywhere else. Or wrapped around her throat.
Valentina didnât stop there.
âYou,â she snapped at you during the third press op, finger jabbing the air like it might actually hit you. âNeed to look grateful, sweetheart. Do you know what Iâm paying to make you likable? Not that you arenâtâyouâre a doll, reallyâbut come on now, you have to stop glaring at the children like you want to throw them into traffic.â
It was all bullshit. Sheâd even made Bob do interviews. Bob, whose voice cracked anytime someone looked at him too long.
Yelena had muttered something in Russian that was definitely a curse and didn't even try to smile.
Alexei had laughed too loudly during a morning show segment that made the host flinch, and a lighting rig tripped over.
Ava vanished in the middle of a red carpet appearanceâliterally phased through the floor and didnât return for hours.
Walker kept trying to one-up Bucky in interviews. "Sure, Barnes is a legend," he'd say, clapping his shoulder, "but some of us chose to be heroes."
Of course, you snorted a little bit too loud. Loud enough for the mic to catch it. Loud enough for Walker to glare at you and Bucky to smirk.
And Mel? Poor Mel had to endure Valentina's bickering, forcing all of you to pose for pictures while muttering apologies like there was no tomorrow.
You were the first one to be asked for solo shots in the new tactical gear.
"Just a few poses," Valentina said, flashing a big, bright PR smile. "You wear it so well. We want something sleek. Powerful. Sexy, but not, like, thirst trap sexy, you know?"
You didn't miss the way Bob watched. He didn't say a word; he barely moved. But his eyes? They devoured you. Dark, wide, hungry. Like he was seconds from losing it in front of everyone.
Later that day, you'd found him in the dark armory, pacing like a caged animal. Shoulder tense. Breathing shallow.
So you pushed him up against the wall. Fist in his hair. Mouth on his.
And nowâ
âYou have no idea what you do to me,â he growled against your lips, teeth grazing. His hands were gripping your hips tightly, grinding against you, still half-covered by his pants but already leaking, already thick and throbbing for you. âThe way you looked in that suitâI couldnât fucking breathe.â
You rolled your hips against his, slow and punishing. âYou couldâve said something.â
âI couldâve snapped.â He laughed, breathless, voice fraying. âI nearly did.â
He didn't even make it to the bench.
By the time you shoved him down, Bob was already panting, pupils blown, knees buckling. He hit the floor with a groan, legs spread, cock heavy and flushed. You were on him in secondsâknees framing his hips, hands pressing down on his chest, owning him.
You thanked God for wearing a dress.
He didn't even see your panties come off. Just blinked and they were gone, tossed somewhere on the floor. His pants already shoved down far enough, his cock already free.
He looked up at you like you were something holy. Divine. Dangerous. Like he'd beg to be burned if it meant you kept touching him like this.
Then you reached between you, lined him up, and sank down in one thrust. He filled you up completely.
Bob swore, loud and wreckedââFuckfuckfuckââ his head hit the floor, back arching, eyes wide and pleading.
âGod, you feel so fucking goodâtightâperfectâI canâtââ
You clapped your hand over his mouth.
âQuiet, Bob.â
He whimpered behind your palm. His hands were everywhereâyour hips, your ass, your thighsâlike he didnât know what to hold onto first.
You started to moveâfast and rough, giving neither of you time to adjust. You didnât want slow. Didnât want sweet. You wanted to feel it. The way he stretched you open, filled every inch, the way his cock hit deep, perfect with every thrust.
Bob moaned into your palm, loud and choked and shameless. His hips bucked up hard, matching your rhythm, chasing every thrust like he couldnât help himself. His grip on your ass tightened, spreading you wider for him, pulling you down harder.
Your name spilled from his lips again and again, muffled and wrecked.
âYouâre soâfuck,âyouâre so perfectâneed this for so fucking long. I can't even fucking think when you're on me like thisâGod, yesssss"
You leaned down, dragging your lips along his jaw.
âYou like being under me like this?â
He nodded, feverish, muffled praise tumbling behind your hand.
âMhmâyesâfuck, pleaseâyou donât know what you do to me,â he breathed against your palm, words falling out between gasps. âBeen thinking about thisâevery nightâevery time you walked past in that suit, I wanted to fall to my kneesâwanted to ruin you or be ruined, didnât even fucking careâjust needed you.â
You grinned, filthy and pleased. âAnd now youâre ruined under me.â
He whined, hips snapping up with such force that it knocked a loud moan right out of you.
âYou feel that?â you gasped, rolling your hips in a slow, dragging circle. âThatâs how deep you are. Youâre so deep, Bob. I can feel you so deep inside me. Godâyou feel so fucking good."
âYouâre so fucking perfect,â he moaned, eyes blown wide, hands gripping your thighs like a man drowning. âSuch a good girl. God, you take me so fucking wellâlook at youâriding me like I belong to youââ
âYou do,â you growled, dragging your nails down his chest. âYouâre mine right now. You hear me?â
âYes,â he gasped. âYes, fuckâyoursâalwaysâplease god donât fucking stopââ
You clapped your hand over his mouth again, smirking down at him.
âQuiet, Bob. Don't you dare fucking come until I tell you to."
He whimpered behind your palm, body trembling, trying so hard to behave, to stay still, to not fall apart completely under your touch. But you kept movingâfast, hard, relentless. Your thighs burned. His cock throbbed deep inside you with every stroke.
And just when he was seconds away from breakingâ
Hiss. The door slid open.
âOh my fucking god.â
Yelenaâs voice hit like a bullet.
You froze. Bobâs eyes flew open, pure panic, still fully inside you.
Yelena stood frozen in the doorway, eyes wide, hand flying to her face but only half-covering her view.
âYouâve got to be kidding me,â she muttered. âThe armory? Are you both deranged? This is where we keep weapons, notâwhatever the hell this is.â
Bob let out a muffled moan under your hand, utterly betrayed by his body.
Yelena pointed without looking. âOh my god, this can't be happening. Youâreâon top of him. And heâsâJesus Christ, Bob!â
âYelena!â you snapped, glaring over your shoulder.
âAlright, alright!â She held up both hands, backing away. âIâll leave you to your... deep reconnaissance.â She snorted. âReal in-depth work going on here.â
âYelena! GET OUT!â
âLeaving! Leaving!â she laughed, ducking out as the door hissed shut again. âJust make sure no one ends up disarmed.â
Your heart was still pounding when the door slid shut again, sealing Yelenaâand her mouthâon the other side. You didnât move, still straddling Bob, still full of him, flushed and breathless.
âYou okay?â you asked, teasing, one brow raised. âShe didnât scar you for life, did she?â
Bobâs chest was heaving beneath you. He blinked up at you. Something shifted in his eyes.
âNo,â he saidâlow, steady. Then, with startling force, he sat up.
âBobâ?â
His hands gripped your waist, hard. The next second, you were on your back, sprawled across the cool floor, his body covering yours. He was still inside you. Still rock hard. Still throbbing.
âYou tease me like that,â he growled, voice rough and frayed, âand expect me to behave?â
Your breath hitched.
âYou told me to be quiet. Told me not to come.â
His mouth was at your throat now, kissing, biting, breathing heat against your skin.
âYou think Iâm gonna ask again?â
You clawed at his back, nails dragging over sweat-slick skin.
âBobââ
âNo,â he snapped, thrusting hard. You gasped, your back arching off the floor. âYou donât get to be in charge now.â
He fucked into you like a man possessedâdeep, fast, relentless. All the praise from before was gone, replaced by low, hungry grunts and the sound of skin on skin.
âYou wanted this,â he hissed against your ear. âWanted me like this. Loud. Messy. Mine.â
You moaned, wrapping your legs around him, trying to pull him deeper, and he gave it to youâover and over again.
âYou feel that?â he growled, pounding into you. âThatâs not deep. Thisâthis is deep.â
You couldnât even form words. Just gasps. Moans. Scratches across his back.
And he loved it.
He didnât stop until you were shaking, whimpering beneath him, your control shattered.
He leaned in, panting against your cheek, his voice a rough whisper.
âNow tell me whoâs fucking ruined.â

In my arms || (Bob Reynolds x reader)
Summary: The Thunderbolts are constantly on missions, busy trying to do good and save whoever they can. One of them was Bob Reynolds, the defenseless yet powerful man who is part of this team and family. However, he doesn't participate in these missions so he can continue practicing controlling his powers.
Despite telling them he's capable, the team prefers to give him more time to get used to them, until one mission, when a member of the team is injured. And all Bob can think about is the fury he feels when he hears Y/N being hurt. And how much he wants revenge on whoever did it.
content warnings: angst, he fell first and he fell harder, "avengers" tower, fluff, thunderbolts being a family, violence, curse words, SPOILERS FOR THUNDERBOLTS*, Yelena and Bob being like brother and sister, "touch her and you die" trope.
Author's note: I WATCHED THUNDERBOLTS*!!!! And let me tell you, it was better than i imagined. Honestly, it became one of my favorites and it can easily be in my top 3 of Marvel movies. I just can't describe the experience with enough words, but the waiting was totally worth it âšïž AND THE POST CREDIT SCENE đ MARVEL ATE WITH THAT ONE.
With that being said, i'm excited to tell you that i'm gonna write more of Bob Reynolds đđ»đđ» So here you go, a one shot with him, wich contains a few spoilers of the movie. At this point our reader will be polaris lol.
Hope you like it and comment what do you think of this one đ
Bob was getting used to the place.
What had once been Avengers Tower had now become his new "home." He had an incredible view of New York City, several rooms to hang out in, thousands of dishes and meals he'd never been able to prepare in his life, and the pleasant company he shared every day.
The team had made him feel comfortable and part of something worthwhile, despite what they'd gone through to get to this moment.
Bob still felt guilty about what happened when Void took control of him and darkened everything in its path, even when Yelena reminded him it wasn't his fault and that he wasn't alone. The blonde had become a trusted person for him and was always there when he needed her. He told her his secrets and how he felt, and the Russian always gave him advice or a word of encouragement. Even with the trust he had in her, he confided in her something he never thought would happen to him. Or rather, something he thought was impossible to happen in such a short time.
He was attracted to Y/N.
The girl whom his other self had caused to see horrible things from her past, the one who could move metal objects with a simple flick of her fingers, and the one who made his heart race and his cheeks blush. It was a feeling that consumed him every time he was near her or even thought about her.
And Yelena, being the good spy she was and good at reading people, knew how Bob felt about Y/N. She always encouraged him to get closer and talk to her more, but Bob simply couldn't do it. It was not that easy.
"It sounds easy," John says, after hearing the plan for carrying out the mission.
Bob shakes his head to return to reality and ignore such thoughts.
"Wait until we get there and they welcome us with open arms," ââBucky says, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"We still made it last time, and look at us here," Y/N replies, shrugging her shoulders.
Ava laughs and shakes her head.
"We'd better get moving," she says.
Bob looks at the group with hope in his eyes, but feels unsure about what he's gonna say.
"Can I come with you, guys?" he asks.
All heads turn to look at him with a mixture of surprise and sympathy for his question. They know he wants to help however he can, but after Void was under control and hadn't appeared for quite some time, they weren't so sure it was a good idea to expose him like that again.
"Bob..." Yelena begins to say.
Bob hurries to explain himself.
"I know what you're gonna say. But I think I'm ready, I know I can control it" Bob says with determination in his voice "I've been practicing and trying to talk to him, so maybe I can do it, today"
"We know, Bobby," says John, "But we must complete the mission without any mistakes or problems along the way."
The brunette looks down and clears his throat, nodding. He raises his gaze to smile and meet Y/N's gaze, who smiles back.
"No, no, I understand," he says dejectedly. "When the time is right, I can come with you."
Bucky pats his shoulder and Alexei gives him a thumbs-up. Despite their attempt to lift his spirits, he can't help but feel useless and without any reason to be in the group, other than washing dishes, tidying the place, or reading books he finds lying around.
He hates the feeling.
But it is what it is, right now. And he has to face it.
After the meeting to organize the plan, the group dispersed to look for the weapons and prepare the car in which they would go to the location. Bob watched from afar as the rest of them prepared, while playing with his fingers. He shifted his gaze to the large window overlooking the city and didn't feel Y/N's presence approaching him.
"Hey," she said in a soft tone.
Bob turned his head to look at her and smiled delightedly.
"Hey," she asked.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
He nods and laughs softly, pretending to be okay and swallowing the feeling that bothered him.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine"
The girl mimics his smile and stares at him, while Bob feels the heat spread to his cheeks.
"Hey, how about we watch a movie when I get back?" she offers, patting his arm to get his attention.
Bob smiles.
"I was actually thinking it could be a movie night with just us. If you like that idea," Y/N says, crossing her arms and shrugging her shoulders with a smile on her face.
"A movie would be nice. I think it would be fun to have a movie night with the rest of the team," he says awkwardly "We haven't had one of those in a while, so..."
She lets out a soft laugh, thinking how cute he looks all flustered.
"Oh..." he remains silent to calm his nerves until he speaks again so as not to make a fool of himself. "Oh! Yeah, just the two of us. Of course. It could be fun. Count me in!"
Y/N smiles and laughs softly, wich sounds angelical to Bob's ears.
"Great. It's a date" she says.
Bucky calls her to let her know they're about to leave, so she starts walking away from Bob.
"See you, Bob."
"See you. Good luck," Bob says with a dazed smile on his face, remembering the girl's words.
It's a date.
Bob walks to his room with an excited smile, feeling happiness in his chest, but when he remembers the last thing Y/N said, his eyes widen.
"Oh shit! It is a date!"
He needs to prepare for it.
----------
Bob listened and watched from the communications room to see how the team was doing on the mission.
It wasn't going so easy as they planed back in the tower a few hours ago, as they had run into a group of mercenaries who weren't going to give up so easily. The brunette just hoped everyone was okay and managed to complete the missionâand he really hoped Y/N was okay and didn't get hurt.
A feeling of anguish and anxiety was causing Bob's chest to tighten. His leg kept moving as he played with the Rubik's Cube in his hands, unable to complete a color.
The sound of bullets filled his ears, and his jaw clenched as he heard and saw Yelena or Bucky being hit. Alexei grumbled as he tried to pull a man off John to help him, and Ava took care of a few. Y/N tried to stop the bullets as best she could, but there were some hidden snipers she couldn't sense with her powers so easily.
"There's to many of them!" John complains through the earpiece in Bob's ear.
"Fuck! If we don't stop the ones from the roof we cannot go back to the car!" Ava exclaims in an almost exhaustive voice.
"Shit. C'mon guys" Bob whispers while frowning his eyebrows at the scene.
"Bob, can you see how many are on the roof?" Yelena asks from the communicator in her ear.
"Uh, yeah, yeah" he says inmediatly "There's five on the roof. Three of them has guns and two of them are programming something on the computer. Seems like.... oh no"
"What Bob?" Bucky asks.
"It's a bomb! You need to get out of there" Bob says quickly.
"Shit," Yelena curses.
"I can try to stop them. But I need you to cover my back," Y/N says in a confident, hurried tone.
Bob watches as the girl begins to head toward the other side to attack the group of men with guns at the entrance. The others try to stop anyone from attacking her, and she moves stealthily between the bodies to reach the entrance. Bob focuses his attention on the cameras in the building that shows Y/N, his heart aching at what's happening in the footage. Or what could happen.
"Please, be careful," Bob whispers.
Y/N stops the guards' bullets at the entrance with precision in her movements and attacks some who plan to hit her. Bob's eyes glance at the rest of the team as they manage to escape thanks to the distraction caused by the girl with green sparkles flashing from her fingers. However, he doesn't stop for more than five seconds just to check on the girl again. He wants to make sure she's okay, even if it's from behind the computer. Far away from the place where she is right now âjust the thought of it makes his inner self freak out.
Something it's beginning to awake inside of him. Something he thought he had buried for his own good.
Or rather someone.
"Y/N, all done. Let's head to the car. I'll try to get to you right away," Bucky orders.
"No. It's okay, I got this," she chimes in stubbornly.
Bob shakes his head.
But before she can do so, a stray bullet hits her shoulder, destabilizing the girl.
"Fuck!" she complains, touching her shoulder.
"Y/N?" Bucky asks worriedly.
"Y/N!" Bob yells, watching as one of the guards hits her with her gun on the back of her head, causing the girl to fall unconscious to the ground.
That's it.
Bob rushes out of the tower's communications room and runs to the balcony, where he takes to the air with determination. He doesn't stop for a second, because time is precious, especially after seeing Y/N getting attacked. The only thing that keeps repeating in his mind is the visual image of the girl being injured, so he moves quickly through the air until he reaches the others. He had seen the coordinates and the area where they were, so it was easy for him to arrive in time.
Bob tries to find the place that the camera allowed him to watched the area in wich the girl was back at the tower, and when he finds it, he is surprised to find that one of the men responsible of attacking Y/N is carrying her unconscious body in his arms. Fury courses through his veins at the sight, and he rushes to stop the bastard. It's as if he's being consumed by darkness, a sensation he knows all too well.
As soon as he's in front of the guy, he stops him and without a second thought, tries to attack him, careful not to hit Y/N. The man looks at him in horror and carefully places the girl's body on the ground, then raises his hands in surrender.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know..." he stumbles, but all Bob sees is red.
He growls and begins to mercilessly beat the man's body, making him bleed, and doesn't stop until he's unconscious. Blow after blow, unleashing all the anger he felt at seeing how the bastard hurt the girl. He can still see her grimace of pain and how her body fell unconscious to the ground, helpless, and who knows what they might have done to her if he hadn't arrived in time.
"Please...." the man begs almost unconscious.
Bob doesn't hear him. He doesn't want to.
And Void doesn't want to too.
The rest of the team arrives at Y/N's location, only to see her lying on the ground with a scarlet stain forming on the shoulder of her suit, while Bob kills the man. Ava approaches the girl's body and makes sure she has a steady pulse, while John makes sure that no one appears and attacks them by surprise.
"Bob," Yelena warns and tries to approach him to make him see reason.
"No! He hurt her. No one can touch her, or hurt her!" he exclaims in a mixture of anger and darkness. "No one! You heard me? Fucking no one!"
The others stare at the scene and notice how Y/N wakes up and observes the state Bob is in. Ignoring the pain in her shoulder, she rushes over to him and wraps her arms around him from behind, resting her face on his.
"Bob, hey. It's okay," she murmurs in his ear, feeling the man begin to slow down the blows, so she tightens her grip on his body. "I'm okay. Everything will be okay."
Bob calms down and brings his now covered in blood hands to Y/N's arms, then turns his body and hugs her with all his strength, trying to cover her body to protect her just in case, and also feel her in his arms and make sure nothing happens to her anymore.
"You are hurt" he whispers in her ear.
"It's just a scratch. I'll be fine" Y/N says with a small smile on her lips.
"He hurt you. I couln't allow him to do it" he says in a broken voice.
Y/N looks at the rest of the team and smiles at them, letting them know she's okay. Kinda. Bucky sighs and shakes his head at the girl in that state, knowing she must be screaming from the pain of the bullet, while Alexei smiles sideways and tries to encourage her from a distance. The blonde russian girl mouths to her that she will get the car ready to go, to wich Y/N nods and indicates her to do so.
"We still have our date," she tells him, still standing with the brunette, glancing at the man's lifeless body.
Bob lets out a sigh and nods his head against Y/N's chest, agreeing with her.
"Our date," he says in a soft tone, relaxing at the touch of her fingers in his hair. Although he can't help but feel anger again when he smells the metallic scent coming from the girl's wound.
"Yeah. Are we still up to that?"
"Definitely" Bob answers and lets out a small laugh.
She smiles and then pulls away from him to look him in the eye. Those blue orbits who watch her with a spark on his eyes.
"So let's go home and have our date, okay?" Bob nods and then lowers his gaze to the girl's wound.
"First, we need to treat your wound," he says, pointing to the red stain on her suit.
"Would you help me with that?"
"You don't have to ask me twice."
They both stare at each other with a small smile on their faces, understanding how much they care for each other and would do anything to keep them safe and viceversa.
Especially Bob.
And as long as Y/N is in his arms, he'll be okay.

Hi I was wondering if we could get another Bob Reynolds headcanon x reader thing maybe like a size kink cuz the actor is 6'0 and muscular. Please and thank you đđŒ
SIZE KINK â± with BOB â â àš minors do not interact !â„ïž blurb & smut contentâ â â â âââââ â â â headcanon based

he licked his lips silently as you compared your hand to his, laughing and chattering about how big his hand was compared to yoursâwhich, honestly, was quite littleâand how cute it looked when bob was such a big man. âyour hand must be the size of my head!â you said, still laughing as you held his hand between your two smaller ones.
some time ago, this wouldnât have affected him, but now, at this moment, it was completely different. bob had been paying a certain amount of attention to your size, to how small you were compared to him, not just your hands, but your whole self. especially when he cuddled with you and you almost disappeared in his arms, that was... something he had never paid attention to, but it was getting to him.
âiâm way too big for you, arenât i, little thing?â he grumbled hoarsely, his eyes darting from the way your hands played with his to your face lying on his chest. lying on top of him, you still looked smaller and by godâs sake, it wasnât healthy what this was doing to his mind.
little thing. he gave you that nickname and used it constantly, even around the others, which always got a few laughs and made him tease you a little more. âi should start calling you big boy.â the new nickname made him let out a low groan, making you laugh when you realized that you had found a way to tease him the same way he did to you.
âdonât give me that big boy thing...â he almost pouted for a moment before tossing you a little to the side and making you lie on your back on the mattress, climbing over you. âyouâre the little thing here and only you.â bob couldnât help but notice the way he could keep you immobile beneath him so easily, just one hand of his would be enough to hold both your wrists and you wouldnât even complain about it.
âwell, do you intend to do anything about it or...?â
damn teasing. you shouldâve known better than to say that to himânot when he hadnât touched anyone like he really wanted to in so long. touch-starved, you could tell by the way he was forcing himself inside you. there you are, legs wrapped around his hips and nails scratching the skin in his back beneath the hoodie, the worst part was that you were enjoying this more than you thought you really would.
bob couldnât control himself, he needed this. the way you said he wouldnât fit and he still forced himself inside your sweet pussy, so tight around his cock to the point where he was whimpering as much as you were. âqui-quiet...â he nibbled on your shoulder between thrusts, one hand snaking over your mouth just to make sure you wouldnât moan too loudly at any moment.
but, he could still hear your mumbling against his palm and it only caused to make him harder, burying his face in the crook of your neck, sucking on your skin as he tried to keep himself quiet. the marks you would have in your neck tomorrow werenât a concern now, but rather getting every inch of him inside you.
maybe, you were right in calling him a big boy. he might be big, but he was still a boy, acting all dominant, but losing it the second his cock felt too big for your little pussy. you were squeezing him so tightly that he could barely form a coherent sentence, just moaning and panting against your skin, licking and sucking it in his failed attempts to not be loud.
âf-fuck, you feel so... so... good,â he whispered, drawn out and muffled, against your ear, taking his hand away from your mouth, still thrusting into you hard. âi wanna come for you... inside you... please...â bob was just a completely mess, like you. the hand that was previously on your mouth moving down to find the hem of his hoodie, which he held up a little higher.
his intention was to feel you and also make you feel every single inch of him in those last moments, he wanted to sink into you every day, every hour, but he could settle for just a few days a week. he was making it worth it, stretching you open around his huge cock, making you delirious with it and making himself delirious with the sensation.
your orgasm came seconds before his and he caught a glimpse of the satisfaction on your face, it was enough to intensify his pleasure, leaving him limp above you as his thick jets filled you and left him in a limbo of momentary drowsiness. he knew he shouldnât have gone so deep with it and he felt a little bad, he was afraid of hurting you.
âiâm sorry, little thing, did i hurt you?â he whispered softly like a lullaby, looking a little worried that he had done more than he shouldâve. bob pulled out of you slowly, stroking your thigh, his eyes fixed on yours for any signs. âare you okay? did i do too much?â
you were a little tired and out of breath, still dealing with the aftermath of what had just happened, but you noticed the clear concern on his face and the gentle touch on your thigh, as if he was still trying to apologize for something he didnât even need to. âitâs okay... i liked it, no need to apologize,â your words made him let out a relieved sigh before pressing a peck against your lips, keeping his face close to yours. âdid you like it?â
âyeah.â he didnât even think before answering, he just smirked silly, his hand on your thigh squeezing some of the skin. âi wanna do it again... and again...â then, he pressed another peck against your lips. âactually, can we do it again? like... now.â

She didn't remember how her clothes had disappeared, but it didn't matter and was even appreciated â at that moment it only mattered to merge their bodies into one. She spread her legs, giving him space and permission to make way for him. He reached between them, bringing his hands to her breasts to squeeze them hard, making her whimper and then sliding them down her belly. Then he put them on her thighs, spreading them even wider and kissing her belly all the way down to her crotch, putting his right hand on her thigh to keep it open all the way and using the other to put her other leg over his shoulder.
She knew her dreams were strange and repetitive, always dreaming of a dark, male silhouette slowly emerging from the darkest corner of her bedroom at night to make her his, but she wouldn't complain about such a thing. It felt good, and sometimes it felt so real that she thought succubi existed and that one visited her at night. The only lights in the place were the red button of an extension cord and the light of the laptop indicating that it was being charged, but it was enough to see him appear, approaching her to climb up her bed.
As soon as he got down to work she began to moan, embarrassed as ever at the sounds escaping from all her lips as she clutched at his head, feeling his long hair between her fingers as he dragged his tongue from her wet hole to her clit, and as always both she and he knew for certain that she wouldn't last long. She was so easy to please.
Unconsciously her hips bucked against his mouth and nose, and her body began to tremble as he thrust his tongue into her. She found it hard not to writhe in pleasure, and he could tell he was about to make her climax by her increasingly high-pitched, uncontrollable moans, which grew louder as she clung even tighter to him. Still he continued to plunge his tongue into her hole, flicking it in and out a couple of times before moving up to sucking on her clit. She was already more moan than person, whimpering stretching his long hair as she felt herself on the verge.
She couldn't help but let out a moan as she suddenly noticed him pull away, rising up as he inserted his index and middle finger where his tongue used to be. He didn't have to do much to make her cum, just move his fingers back and forth rapidly for a few seconds. When the moment came she held tightly to the pillow behind her neck as she screamed.
After that she noticed him pulling his fingers out from her and the mattress sinking to her sides as he put his hands to climb on top of her. She also noticed him settling back down to stand between her legs again, and she cooperated by wrapping her legs around his back as she caught her breath.
There was never a sound from him, and she could tell that not even his chest was uneasy from any possible labored breathing as she put her hands on his shoulders or wrapped her arms around his back, feeling his bare chest against her. She chalked it up to missing that detail because her brain was too busy realistically imagining other things.
And she thought the same of his physical appearance â totally dark, with only a few small white dots like eyes that watched her without blinking. She felt he could even see her soul, but she didn't care and even dared to put her hands on his cheeks to pull him closer to her and kiss him with tongue, trying to appease her need to feel him inside her while he brought his dominant hand to his member to rub his wet tip against her entrance in the same state.
As she felt him make his way inside her unceremoniously she moaned, the pleasure palpable in the sounds escaping her mouth as she clamped down on him as she felt him enter her fully. She was used to him going straight to the point when it came to penetrating her with his cock. He grabbed her too, wrapping his muscular arms around her and ramming his hips into her, thrusting back and forth endlessly and making the sound of their skins colliding, as well as her wetness and the moaning nonsense she said, begging for more between cries as she felt her second orgasm forming in her lower abdomen, wanting it to come all the way down to her crotch again.
She wept and writhed uncontrollably as her second orgasm hit her, tensing and arching her back, but he held her tightly to keep her from slipping out of him, feeling her throbbing insides clinging to his member. At the same time he gave one last thrust, rougher than the previous ones, to stop short and fill her with his seed as she caught her breath again, her mind now even more clouded by the sum of the orgasms. What made that mental fog lift a little was to feel him grab her cheeks with one hand to kiss her again as he pulled his member out of her.
"Dream of me, only me," he said, his voice wrapped in an eerie echo before he pulled away from her and disappeared.

there's no death here | robert "bob" reynolds

àœàœČàœàŸ thunderbolts caught me with a bob-shaped hole in my heart.
warnings: spoilers from thunderbolts, super!reader, fem!reader, not sure if I'll make a bunch of parts or even finish this idea so be warned, gonna go ahead and say canon-divergent to save my ass bc im no marvel expert.
masterlist | ao3
You weren't built for battleâthe powers you had were more defense based than anythingâbut you had been trained by the best of the best. The countless lessons left your survival skills above subpar, and maybe you could make use of your size and strangle a man twice it, but those things didn't make you a hero.
And being around so many of them for so long, it's disturbingly easy to start to feel useless.
âBorn or cursed?â
You didn't remember who had asked it. You do remember you had been younger, that you'd been more or less adopted into the world of the Avengers without ever truly being thrown into it. Wanda and Natasha had been your everything, especially when it came to helping with your powers. Between the supernatural and the mental side, they had done wonders.
Sitting around and not making use of yourself would be spitting on their memory, so it wasn't long before you were dragged into government business. Reading minds was handy, but picking apart memories? Entering their psyche?
You were gold to detectives and last resort for men in black suits who would âtalkâ to criminals if you didn't.
The work had drained enough from you by the time Bucky showed up on your doorstep with a bottle of liquor and a favor.
âThis isn't what I do,â you told him, looking over the files. âI'm not a therapist or a teacher. If Void is as powerful as you say it isââ
âIt can be beaten,â he explained. âWe've done it before. I just need you to help Bob block it out. You know how to do that.â
âWith other people's thoughts,â you argued.
He shook his head. âYou suppress memories. You put them into neat little boxes for your agent work.â
âYou want me to make him forget something that dangerous?â
âI want you to show him he's not alone when it comes to this side of superpowers.â Bucky stood, a warm hand coming down on your shoulder and squeezing. âWe've all been scattered. It's a shit team, the New Avengers, but it's something, kid.â
âIâm not a kid anymore, Bucky,â you sighed.
âI know. Wouldn't be asking you for your help if you were.â
The door shut to your apartment in farewell, but one visit from the Winter Soldier had too many opening at once. Flashes of earth's most mightiest heroes, of old friends, dead friends, missing ones.
Getting dragged back into that mess was asking for trouble.
Sipping on free alcohol, you flip through the packet of Robert âBobâ Reynolds. Sweet face, fucked past, and a far more fucked psyche for the powers he'd revealed in the last hit on New York.
Cursed, you decided by the end of your research, frowning as a picture slipped free. The New Avengers were definitely a ragtag group. Bucky was the only one you knew, Yelena you learned more than enough about through Nat digging around her head one time too many. Alexei Shostakov as well, but he was easy to pick apart at one glance. Anything revolving around Ava Starr and John Walker was rumors or passed down the grapevine.
Your phone vibrated. Checking it drew a deep line between your eyebrows. Someone was asking for another questioning, this time through the mind of a rampant serial killer in Chicago. They didn't have enough on him.
You leaned into your hands, sighing.
Across the block at a red-light, Bucky glanced at his phone and smiled as he read over the text.
âI need to meet him before I agree to this.â
The light flicked green.
The Watchtower was a shadow of the place you used to know. Repairs were still being made leaving people crawling on every floor but the top level had been finished for two weeks now, leaving the New Avengers with their shared space.
Bucky had promised the team would be out when you arrived, save for Bob. As it was quiet when the elevator door opened, you were glad to see he'd kept that promise.
âWelcome back,â he called, walking up.
âWhich room did you snag?â you scoffed, eyeing the decor. Minimalist, neutral tones. Far greyer than the old room you remembered.
âThe biggest.â He said it like it was obvious. Maybe it should've been.
Hearing movement, you both turned as a shadow passed by the windows. The hunched shoulders were a dead giveaway, soft eyes flittering between the floor and you as the young man stepped down.
Bob wore a dark blue sweater that drowned his figure and dark jeans. His hair was still a shaggy length and dark brown from the recent pictures you'd seen. By all accounts, he looked normal, but the anxiety flowed off him in waves that crashed against your head.
His mind extends way beyond others.
âHi,â he greeted softly, clearing his throat. âYou're, uh, Bucky's friend?â
You introduced yourself, stepping forward to offer your hand. He was quick to step back even across the room, body tensing.
âWait, don't. I'm not sure if Iââ
âWhen's the last time you transported someone into a shame room?â
The shock on his face had you glancing at Bucky for answers.
âLast week,â he said, crossing his arms. âNothing super dangerous. Uncomfortable, but we get a lot of repeats so we break off easily enough.â
âWait, so how much do you already know?â Bob asked, arms wrapping around himself.
âEnough,â you and Bucky respond.
Bob sighed, head nodding along as he turned away. âGreat, guess that makes it easier.â
âI wouldn't say that; you're guarded now.â You moved closer, keeping your steps slow and your hands behind your back. Bob remained tense but didn't shy away. âBucky called me here to see if I could help you, but I came here to see if you even want it.â
âWell, uhâŠâ he swallowed, head bowing.
Do you want my help? His eyes flashed wide, breath catching as he looked up. You kept your expression neutral as you raised a brow. Do you? This will only work if you want to put in the effort.
âCan you see everything?â
You fought not to smile at the childish awe in his voice as it echoed back to you. I'm not looking. I'm listening.
A series of curses and panicked background commentary had you laughing.
I've heard and seen a lot. Honestly, donât worry about it.
âThat's easy for you to say,â Robert grumbled. âI cant control my thoughts like you can.â
âWould you like to?â
âIt's not that I don't want your help,â he said, hands tangling into his sweater. âI just don't want to hurt anyone again. A lot of people⊠Some don't snap out of what I make them see. It's bad.â
âI have faith in my mental state,â you assured him. âMental barriers, especially. I need to see just how powerful you are, though. Because if you get past mine, that means I'll be training you through trial and error. It's risky but it's not impossible.â
Bob looked to Bucky. âDo you think that's a good idea?â
Your old friend shrugged. âI brought her in because she's good at what she does. Whatever she wants to do, I have to trust it's the right decision.â
âI could hurt her!â Bob breathed and looked back to you. âI could hurt you really, really bad. Are you sure you know what you're signing up for?â
âI read through your files. I saw the extent of your powers and the aftermath of the accident,â you explained. âI'm prepared to help you with all things mental and psychic, but trust has to go both ways.â
You raised your hand again. He flinched, shuffling back.
âYou want to help me now. What if that changes?â he whispers. âWhat if you see what it's really like and it scares you?â
âWe won't know unless we try.â You took a step. Hand outstretched.
Bob looked at Bucky again, as if waiting to see if anyone would disagree. Whatever he searched for wasn't there.
He sighed and met your gaze. Pale blue eyes, you noted, with colors shifting around the pupil.
âOkay,â he nodded, holding up a shaky hand. The skin was bitten raw around his nails, skin dry but warm. The moment you felt it, there was a pressure against your mental shields. You could see the darkness clouding around you, searching for a way in, but you held firm.
âAre you okay?â he whispered, arm trembling as he stood there. His eyes were closed, head turned away.
You smiled, holding in a laugh as you used your other hand to grab his. âI'm fine, Bob. You're definitely powerful.â
âBut you didn't see anything?â he said, eyeing where you were joined.
âI've had years to work on my mental barriers. You can't breach what doesn't have an entrance.â You squeezed his hand. âThis is a really good sign. I'm going to have to let you in at some point to see just how potent your power is, but we'll work up to that.â
âYou really don't see anything?â he whispered, hope rising in his expression as he searched your gaze.
âJust you,â you promised, unable to keep from smiling. âWe'll have to work on your projection. Your thoughts areâŠloud.â
His face flushed red as he pulled away, sputtering an apology. There was some halfass excuse about the bathroom as he fled. Bucky stepped up to fill the empty space.
âWhat was he thinking?â
âNone of your business,â you chuckled. âYou got a guest room for me?â
But you had to admit you were flattered. Mensâ thoughts usually came up with the same descriptions for you at first glance. All your life you'd been met with disgusting thoughts and hateful opinions or plain âhotâ and âsexy.â
This might've been the first time a man had ever thought of you as âradiantâ before.

This is not beta-read oopsieee
Ever since you moved into the Watchtower, youâd been freezing perpetually. This wasnât something that was new to you. Not entirely. The heating at your old place had always been set to a cosy 71°F because, even in a thick hoodie and fuzzy socks, you were used to constantly having cold hands and feet. In school, people used to make fun of you for wearing sweatshirts well into June when most of them had long put away their long-sleeved clothes. Now, in the Watchtower, you were lucky if someone turned the thermostat up to 65°F. John and Bucky - but especially John - would go on about how they couldnât handle it if the apartment got too warm, arguing that they tend to run hot because of the serum. But Bob and Alexei never seemed to be too opposed to leaving the thermostat set to a temperature that didnât have the rest of you feeling like you were living in a cold store.
âWhy canât you girls just put on a hoodie if youâre cold?âJohn moaned and turned on the AC before sitting down in his usual armchair, sweat stains on his shirt from his morning jog.
âBecause having the AC on full blast is bad for the environment. Just get over yourself,â Ava tried to reason, getting up from the couch and turning down the AC again.
âItâs four supersoldiers living here. And three women. Thatâs clearly a majority. If youâre cold, you should put on some warmer clothes,â John retorted, joining Ava at the thermostat once more.
âJohn, you cannot play the âI am a supersoldierâ card every time youâre losing an argument,â Yelena rebutted, her Eastern European accent thick, and rolled her eyes. âBob and Alexei donât seem to have a problem with setting the AC to a temperature everyone feels comfortable with.â
âAlexei basically loves to sit around in his robe and tighty whities and Bobâs probably just too much of a wuss to say anything,â John snapped and looked at Bob who had been really quiet this whole conversation. Hearing his name caught Bobâs attention, having him look around the room, trying to figure out what heâd done.
âHey, thereâs no need to get personal, Walker,â you interfered, looking up from your book. You met Bobâs eyes and sent him a soft smile. He relaxed a little, his shoulders dropping back to their usual level. You stretched out your leg and poked his side with your foot, getting a small smile from him in return.
âIâm not the one whoâs making this personal, Yel-"
Walker quickly shut up when he heard heavy footsteps coming down the hallway and turned to see Bucky walk into the living room, an annoyed expression on his face.
âOkay, whatâs going on here, and who started it?â
âWalker!â The four of you said in unison, and Bucky sighed loudly, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his right hand.
Walker looked around the room, an exasperated look on his face, and his finger pointed at his own chest.
âHow is this my fault? Besides, Bob, are you fucking kidding me? You canât speak up for yourself but then youâre ready to throw me under the bus the second you get a chance?â There was an angry sneer on Johnâs face and when your gaze fell on Bob once more, you realised that heâd shrunken into the couch cushions, seeming considerably tinier than he actually was.
âSorry, Walker, but Iâm on the girlsâ side on this one.â
âOf course you are,â John muttered, rolling his eyes again and turning to walk to his room, when Buckyâs arm landed across his chest.
âWhere do you think youâre going?â Bucky asked, his voice filled with frustration.
After the discussion that ensued, youâd all agreed to keep the temperature of the common rooms to a more agreeable 69°F, still very much to Johnâs displeasure. Eventually, everyone seemed to get used to the temperature in the shared living spaces. Well, that was everyone but you. You blamed it on bad circulation and an iron deficiency that you couldnât quite seem to shake completely. So, you put on a sweater and some fluffy socks most times you left your bedroom and tried to tell you that it was ok - that, maybe, you just took longer to get used to the temperature shift between your bedroom and the living room or kitchen.
But then there was that one day where the AC malfunctioned, and none of you could figure out a way to shut it off. God, that was probably Johnâs favourite day of the year because he finally got what he wanted all this time. After desperately trying to stay warm in your room, you gave up and figured that maybe youâd be warmer in the living room with the afternoon sun streaming in. Yelena and Ava were sitting in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, trying to warm themselves in the sun, quietly bickering about John who was lounging on the couch, wearing a tank top and shorts, his bare feet on the coffee table. He had a smug smile on his lips when he saw you come into the living room, wearing a thick cardigan over your oversized hoodie and sweat pants. Youâd shoved your feet into the warmest pair of slippers that still fit over the thickest socks you had, but yet, you still felt cold.
âWhere are you going? The Arctic?" John laughed, sitting up straighter to get a better look at your outfit while you walked around the back of the couch, looking for a cosy spot to read. You didnât reply, just sent him an annoyed glare and then pulled your cardigan tighter around your frame.
âGuess itâs not just the temperature thatâs freezing in here,â he muttered under his breath and slumped back down in his seat.
âYou know, you can just shut up. You get that, right?â Ava countered and closed her eyes against the sun, leaning back onto her elbows.
"What did I say now?â His arms were stretched over his head, completely oblivious that his joke from before wasnât funny at all.
âJohn Walker, if a woman tells you to be quiet, you should really be quiet,â Alexei told him, shaking a raised index finger into Johnâs direction and looking at John over the edge of his newspaper, his head cocked forward.
John didnât say much after that anymore, just mumbled a few words into his beard. It got quiet again in the living room, everyone going back to what they were doing before you entered the living room. But you couldnât concentrate on your book, annoyed by the way your cold toes touched each other inside your socks and how there was a constant flow of cold air coming from the exposed vents hanging from the high ceiling. Even the throw blanket youâd grabbed from the edge of the couch a few minutes after sitting down in the bean bag by the window didnât seem to keep you warm enough. You put the bookmark between the pages of your book and then set it aside on the floor before pulling the blanket up under your chin, shivering slightly.
âGod, itâs so cold,â you muttered, rubbing your arms under the blanket and trying to generate some heat. âDid Bucky say anything about when theyâll come around and fix the AC?â you asked, looking at Yelena and Ava.
They shook their heads, Yelena telling you that Bucky had tried to get some people down here but didnât have any luck. With her face turned to the window, she look like a cat basking in the sun.
âApparently theyâre all too busy with installing ACs all over New York,â Ava added and shrugged her shoulders, a sorry expression on her face.
âHey, [y/nn], if you want, you can come and sit with me. I give great dad hug! Yelena can confirm. Right, Lenochka?â Alexei opened his arms invitingly and let his eyes wander between you and Yelena, whose face pulled an embarrassed grimace.
âDad, please donât take this the wrong way. But I donât think [y/n] wants a dad hug from you, right now.â
âThatâs really nice of you, Alexei,â you thanked him, sending him a kind smile.
He nodded, his shoulders slumping a little, but his bright grin didnât falter. âAlways! You are family now!â
It was then that Bob and Bucky walked into the living room, carrying seven cups of hot cocoa, whipped cream in a can, a packet of mini marshmallows, and some cookies between the two. They set the mugs down on the coffee table and told us to get together.
âOK, Bob and I have made the executive decision that weâre gonna drink some hot cocoa and have ourselves a lil movie night.â
âBucky, itâs 4 in the afternoon,â John noted, looking at his wristwatch, and Bucky sent him a glare.
âIf you donât wanna join us, then suit yourself, Walker. I bet Valentina still has some paperwork you can take care of, if you really wanna work,â Bucky schooled him, sitting down in his usual spot on the couch.
âNo, no. Itâs fine! Movie time it is.â
The team all cosied up on the couch, leaving a spot between Bob and Yelena for you. You plopped down, pulling your knees to your chest and wrapping your arms around your legs, hoping youâd stay warmer this way.
âWant some blanket [y/n]?â Bob offered and lifted the blanket heâd put over his legs a second before. You reached over to him, your fingers brushing against his as you pulled on the fabric a little. His fingers were warm, toasty even, and your eyes went up to meet his gaze.
âHow are you not freezing?â you asked him, your fingers staying wrapped around his for a moment, hoping to coax some of his warmth.
âWell, I kinda run hotâŠâ His voice wobbled a little, and he gulped, his cheeks turning pink. Bob averted his gaze, his eyes moving down to your hand slowly slipping into his, but you could still see him bite his lip nervously.
âWish that was me right now, to be honest,â you mumbled and put his hand on your cheek, leaning into his palm. âI feel like I might actually turn into a fucking ice cube every second now.â
âYeah, I guess itâs a perk in situations like theseâŠâ His thumb swiped over your cheek instinctively, a soft smile on his face, and then his eyes sparkled a little, going wide. âYou could⊠come a little closer. Maybe I can help you warm up?â Bob motioned his head for you to move on over and put his arm out for you.
You didnât have to be told twice, quickly scooching over to him and putting your head on his shoulder. The second his arm wrapped around your back, it felt like a warm and cosy blanket being placed around you, the citrusy-yet-earthy scent of his cologne enveloping your senses. You got a little more comfortable, putting your feet between his crossed legs. Bobâs hand dropped to your knees, rubbing up and down your shins, the friction creating a soothing warmth on your skin.
âWait, I wanna cuddle, too,â Yelena exclaimed, scooching over, too, and throwing her arms around the two of you. Her head came to rest against your back, and she hummed as her fingertips drew lazy patterns on your knees.
You stayed like that for a while, Yelena eventually lying down in the space that youâd left vacant by moving to basically sit in Bobâs lap and falling asleep, soft snores rumbling behind you every now and then. At some point, your knees had fallen against Bobâs chest, and youâd cuddled up closer to him, his cheek resting against your temple.
âAre you getting warmer?â He asked, looking at you from the corner of his eyes, and you nodded, the comforting warmth of his embrace slowly lulling you to sleep as well. His hand moved from its resting place on your ankles to your cheek, and he ran his thumb over it again.
âIf you wanna nap, Iâll keep you safe from turning into a popsicle, ok?â There was a certain easy playfulness to his voice that made your heart skip a beat.
You nodded drowsily and burrowed your face in his neck, closing your eyes against the flickering lights emanating from the TV. With the hot cocoa warming you from the inside and Bobâs arms wrapped around your frame, it didnât take long for you to get swept off to dreamland.
Bobâs voice woke you up a little later, his breath hot against your ear: âHey, weâre ordering take out, you want something?â His thumb was caressing your cheek again, and your eyes fluttered open, trying to blink away sleep. âWhat are you getting?â, you mumbled groggily and wiped at your eyes, slowly pulling away from him.
âChinese. Weâve already gotten mini spring rolls and wontons but we werenât sure what youâd wanna eat,â Bucky told you, looking at you from behind Bob. He smiled at you and then handed you his phone. âGet yourself something nice, Valâs paying.â Bucky sent you a wink and then leant back against the couch, his eyes back on the TV.
~~~
You were tossing and turning in your bed, the covers pulled up under your chin in a futile attempt to stay warm. The cold had crept into your very bones, and nothing seemed to help anymore. Youâd tried tea and more hot chocolate and even made a cup of hot milk with honey, hoping that itâd warm you up enough to fall asleep. But it had been almost an hour of tossing, and you were getting fed up with each tick-tock of the clock hanging over your bedroom door.
You turned on your phone and looked at the lockscreen, a too bright 1:47 am glaring back at you. You sighed and locked your phone again, turning onto your side and pulling your legs to your chest. Images of earlier that day ran through your mind like a film through a projector, the only thing missing being the rattling noise of the cooling fans and the motor. Memories of Bobâs arm slung around your shoulder, his hand rubbing up and down your upper arm. His blue eyes flashing over to you every now and again as if checking to see youâre still you and havenât turned into a human icicle. His other hand was drawing loose patterns on the bare skin from where your joggers had ridden up above the thick socks. You hadnât even noticed at first. It felt too natural for him to hold you like that. Especially after having yearned to feel his hands on your body in any way for so long.
His touch had sent tiny sparks through you, like bursts of electrical currents, and with them came a pleasant warmth. A warmth that made your insides heat up in a way that the hot chocolate couldnât. You ached to feel this warmth again. To feel the childlike excitement that ran through your veins while being in his arms. To have his delectable scent cloud your senses with every inhale.
You longed for his warmth so much that you hadnât noticed yourself get up out of bed. You only realised when the cold of the door handle crept up through your fingers. You pushed the handle down, trying to be as quiet as possible, knowing that your door tended to creak when opened too quickly. Not that any of your other team members shouldâve been awake at this hour, but still, you wanted to ensure that no one knew about your night-time stroll. Deep down, you were scared that Bob would open the door. That heâd be awake to find you standing at this doorstep, shivering from the low temperatures in the Tower.
Once you reached Bobâs bedroom door on the other side of the apartment, you let your hand hover for a second, your blood rushing in your ears and your heart skipping a beat or two. Taking a deep breath, you knocked on his door as softly as possible, barely making any noise. You could hear faint shuffling from the other side of the door, the groan of the bedframe under Bobâs body. You waited, quietly counting in your head. Then there were footsteps but they stopped again. You imagined Bob standing on the other side of the door, unsure if heâd imagined the rapping at this door. You inhaled, held your breath for a second, exhaled. Then again. The tips of your fingers rested against the cool wood, tingling. You wanted to knock another time, but your brain didnât seem able to send the signal to lift your hand and knock again.
Just as you found yourself turning towards the door, the door handle moved downwards. The door opened a smidge, and your eyes travelled upwards, slowly, like those of a scared animal. Blocking the warm glow of the lamp on his bedside table, Bobâs eyes met yours, and then his eyebrows hitched up, just for a split second before a smile took over his features.
â[y/n]?â His voice was barely above a whisper, hoping to protect the serene tranquillity of night. He opened the door a little wider and you realised that he was only wearing a pair of boxers. They sat low on his hips, and there was the tiniest trail of hair running down from underneath his belly button and disappearing into his underwear. You shook your head, trying to peel your gaze from his hips and remember why youâd come here. âAre you ok?â
You nodded, your hand brushing away a strand that had fallen into your face. You tried to come up with an appropriate explanation, one other than âhey, Iâm cold, can we have a cuddle?â but you found yourself at a momentary loss of words.
âOh no, I think youâve turned into a popsicle, after all.â His words were followed by a soft chuckle, and your eyes went to the floor. You suddenly felt incredibly stupid for leaving your bedroom and walking to his in the middle of the night.
âI⊠I think I should go back, uh, to my room,â you murmured, your hand lifting to have your thumb point in the direction of where you came from. âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to wake you.â You turned again, and just as you were to take the first step, Bob came up behind you and put his hand on your shoulder. Warmth radiated through your arm and chest, and you felt yourself lean into his touch a little.
â[y/n], wait. You didnât wake me up.â His grip on your shoulder tightened a little, and he added: âGod, you really are freezingâŠâ
âYeah, well⊠you run hot and I run coldâŠâ, you murmured and you let your head fall.
âSorry, I didnât mean to make fun of you⊠Do you⊠I meanâŠâ, he stammered, trying to find the right words. âDo you wanna come inside? I could⊠I mean, we could⊠you knowâŠâ
You looked over your shoulder and saw his Adamâs apple bop up and down as he gulped, unease taking over his face in the shadows.
âDo you want a hug?â He finally offered and scratched the back of his head.
âYes, please.â The words fell from your lips before you had the chance to stop them, so you bit down on your bottom lip, trying to stop any more from escaping. You rolled your eyes at yourself, took a deep breath, and then turned back to him, your mind getting hazy from all the back and forth. âYes, I would really like a hug right now?â
The softest âokâ came from Bob, and he opened his door to let you step into his bedroom. He opened his arms, and you walked up to him. The second his arms wrapped around you, you felt the tension fall away, and you melted into him. Into the warm glow that enveloped you. You buried your head against his chest, closing your eyes, and wrapped your arms around him, too. His muscles tensed and then relaxed again under your fingertips, getting used to the cold of your touch.
âIâm sorry,â you mumbled and looked up at him, pulling your head back a little.
âNo, youâre good, sweetheart,â he put his head on top of yours and pulled you even closer. Your heart bloomed at the pet name, adding to the warmth taking over your body with every second he held you close. He closed the door, pushing at the wooden slab with his foot, and let his fingers run through your hair.
âCan I stay with you tonight?â Your words were hesitant, barely audible in the darkness of his room. You hoped that the darkness would just swallow them. That Bob couldnât feel the way your heart was racing and how it skipped a beat whenever his thumb brushed over that one spot on your back. âItâs just that itâs so cold in my room and I canât fall asleep whenâŠâ
You could feel his head bop in affirmation before he even uttered the words: âOf course you can stay here tonight.â You didnât know just how badly he tried to suppress the urge to add âyou can stay here every nightâ. The words were on the tip of his tongue, threatening to burst free. Instead, he pulled away from you and then motioned to his bed.
Bob walked over but you stayed in your place at the door, watching him lift the covers and then climb in. Thatâs when he looked up and frowned for a split second before he patted the mattress.
âDonât worry, I wonât bite.â He sent you a sheepish smile and winked at you, earning a breathy laugh from you.
Mustering up every little ounce of confidence, you shuffled over to him and climbed into bed next to him. You didnât plant yourself right next to him, no, but left a little gap, suddenly feeling like you were a teenager again and sitting in bed with your crush for the very first time. You clasped your hands over the covers and tried to hide the smile at your own nervousness. You might kick ass on a daily basis, but sitting in bed with Bob seemed to be your very own final boss.
âYou can come closer, I donât mind,â Bob assured and opened his arms again, inviting you to scooch over.
âI donât know why I am so nervous,â you lied, looking over at him and biting on your bottom lip anxiously. âI mean, we literally cuddled earlier⊠in front of everyone elseâŠâ
âRight? I mean, itâs not like we havenât done this before,â he agreed and you could see his cheeks turning pink. âI could, uh, put on a shirt if you want. If you feel more comfortable then.â He pointed at his wardrobe and shrugged his shoulders.
âNo, thatâs ok.â
Your eyes travelled down his face. Over his throat. Stopping to watch the vein flutter under his skin quickly for a second. His chest rose and fell with every inhale and exhale. Your gaze moved further down, following the trail of hair that disappeared under the blanket and then to his hand.
âI'm sorry, I tend to⊠freeze when I'm nervous.â When you realised the unintended pun you laughed at yourself, and then looked back at his face. There was a smile tugging at the corners of his eyes, and you realised the nervousness abate.
You scooched closer to Bob and let him wrap his arm around your shoulder, pulling you close to bridge the distance. He put his head against your temple, and you cosied up against his chest, your hand resting on his pectoral muscles.
âDid you have another nightmare?â You asked him, your gaze travelling up to him slowly.
âWhy do you ask?â His voice was filled with confusion, and he met your eyes.
âWell, you said you were already awake when I knocked⊠it's quite late, so,â you explained and let your fingers trail up his chest, running along the edge of his collarbone.
âOh! No⊠I just couldn't get my mind to quiet down,â he revealed, his eyes following the movement of your fingers. The vein in his neck started to pulse more quickly, and you let your finger run over it slowly, carefully.
âI'm sorryâŠAnything in particular?â You looked at him from underneath your lashes and smiled at him.
His eyes wandered to your lips and stayed there for a second before he looked away, over to his bedroom door.
âUh, no,â he chuckled, and then his eyes flitted to you for a brief second before leaving your gaze again. He did this often when he lied to John or even to Yelena. âJust this and that, you know.â
âYeah, I get that, too, sometimes.â You put your head on his shoulder again and tried to hide the smile from spreading. âWe should probably try and get some sleep, though.â
You could feel Bob nod his head again, and then he scooted down, pulling you with him. Your leg snaked over his thigh, tangling itself with his legs and his left hand found your elbow. He started drawing loose patterns on his skin again, and you could hear his heart skip a beat with your head resting on his chest.
âAre⊠are you warm enough like this?â His hand left your elbow and he made to pull up the covers.
âYeah, you're pretty hot, soâŠâ You could hear him choke on his spit a little, his body turning away from you while he tried to catch his breath again. âI mean, you're pretty warm. Body temperature wiseâŠâ You sat up, your hands clasping together in your lap while the heat rose up your neck, making your cheeks burn.
When he caught his breath again, he ran his hand over his face and chuckled softly.
âYeah, of course,â he looked at you from over his shoulder and took a deep breath. âOf course that's what you meant.â He coughed once more and then turned back to you.
âI mean, why would you mean anything else?â Bob shrugged his shoulders, and there was a sorry smile on his face.
âWhy wouldn't I? It's not like you aren't hot, you know⊠It's just... We're teammates, right?â You were scrambling for words, your hands getting clammy with every passing second. âAnd just because I think you're hot doesn't mean⊠that doesn't mean you feel the same about me, soâŠâ
His eyes went wide, and suddenly, you were scared he'd choke again. He turned around fully, his hands moving all over the place nervously.
âPlease don't choke again,â you begged him and moved back on the mattress. Your feet were on the floor as the regret set in. âI think, I⊠Iâm just gonna⊠Go back to my own room.â
You stumbled back, readjusting the shirt you were wearing, and tried to make your way to the bedroom door in the dim light.
âWait. Stay, please!â Bob hurried after you and stopped you, his right hand resting on your left arm. His left hand cupped your cheek, and you closed your eyes, scared to find pity in his gaze. âPlease, look at me.â
You obliged him, meeting his eyes, and you were surprised when you found no pity in them. Only the softness radiating off of the smile that was spreading on his lips.
âYou don't even realise how wrong you are about me not feeling the same way about youâŠâ There was a certain something about the way he said those words. Like he'd wanted to get them off his chest for a long time. âAnd I don't care about us being teammates.â He puffed out his chest a little, and you snickered at the image in front of you.
âBucky would kill us, if he knew,â you laughed and he shrugged, his thumb brushing over your cheek.
âLast time I checked, I'm kind of invincible. But still, it'd be a good reason to go, you know.â
You nodded at him, a big grin on your lips. There was a flutter in your tummy, like butterflies from being in love for the first time. When he leaned down to you, his fingers on your chin to pull you closer, your breath hitched, and your eyes flitted to his lips.
âCan⊠can I kiss you?â His words were soft and so quiet you weren't sure if you'd heard him right. But you found yourself nodding anyway, turning your head upwards a little and closing your eyes. The kiss was timid at first. Slow and tentative. Barely there.
But when he realised you wouldn't pull away, he sighed quietly and deepened the kiss. You melted against him. His arms wrapped around you, and your hands went up into the hair at the back of his neck. And suddenly, you felt a warmth spread through your whole body, making you think that you'd never felt warmth before.
I Will End You
Bob Floyd x Fem!Mitchell!Reader
The hangar is loudâtoo loud. The engines hum, tools clang, and voices blur together into a steady, unrelenting noise.
You keep your head down as you walk, clipboard tucked tight to your chest, the weight of it grounding you in the chaos. Your sneakers squeak softly against the concrete, the faintest sound in the sea of noise.
You hate this part.
The crossing of the hangar, the eyes that feel like they linger too longâespecially his.
Jake Seresin.
Hangman.
The man with the lazy grin and the sharp eyes that always seem to find you.
You donât look at him. You canât.
But you feel him, every time.
âHey there, darlinâ.â
The words drift to you like a breezeâsoft, teasing, and so unwanted it makes your skin crawl.
You donât stop.
You donât react.
But your heart skips. Not for him. Never for him.
For the man you canât let yourself think about.
Bob Floyd.
You know heâs watching.
You know because you always feel itâ
The way the air seems to shift when heâs near.
The way his gaze feels differentânot heavy, not sharp, but soft. Warm. Like the sun filtering through clouds.
You catch the faintest glanceâbarely there.
Heâs by the workbench, hands full of tools, glasses slipping down his nose. His eyes flicker to you for a heartbeat, and itâs like the whole world holds its breath.
You want to smile.
You donât.
âž»
Laterâquiet, in the back corner of the hangarâyouâre sorting a stack of forms, fingers tight and tense, when you feel it:
A presence.
Bob.
Heâs close enough that you can smell the faint scent of soap and oil, warm and familiar.
âNeed a hand?â he asks, voice soft, careful. Like heâs afraid to startle you.
You freeze, clipboard pressed to your chest, eyes wide.
Your pulse hammers in your throat.
âIâuhââ
The words stumble out, clumsy, awkward.
Bob shifts, one hand reaching out slowly, like heâs asking permissionwithout saying it. His fingers brush yours, barely there, as he takes the clipboard.
Itâs nothing.
But itâs everything.
His touch lingers for half a second too long, warm and careful, like heâs afraid youâll break.
Your breath catches.
So does his.
Thereâs a momentâa pauseâwhere you could say something.
Where he might.
Butâ
âHey, Bob!â
Jakeâs voice cuts through the air like a knife, sharp and too loud.
You both flinch.
Bobâs hand drops like it burned him, the moment snapped clean in half.
You step back, heart racing, cheeks burning.
Bob straightens, clearing his throat, a flush creeping up his neck as he turns toward Jake.
âYeah?â Bob says, voice tight.
Jake grins, obliviousâor maybe not.
âYou gonna help me with this checklist, or you just gonna stare at the pretty girl all day?â
Your stomach twists.
Bobâs gaze flicks to youâquick, unsure, like heâs apologizing without words.
And then he looks away, nodding stiffly, moving to follow Jake, leaving you standing thereâ
Heart pounding, hands trembling, breath caught somewhere between your ribs.
The moment is gone.
But it lingers in the quiet places.
You see himâagain.
Bob.
Quiet, careful Bob.
Always there, always close enough that it hurts.
Heâs across the hangar, sleeves rolled up, grease smudged on his wrist, glasses slipping down his nose.
You should look away.
You should.
But you canât.
Itâs the way his fingers move, slow and precise, steady in a world that never stops.
The way he glances at you sometimesâbarelyâlike heâs not supposed to, like he knows he shouldnât.
The way his mouth twitches, just slightly, when you catch him looking.
You feel it in your chestâ
A pull, soft and aching, that you canât name.
âž»
âNeed a hand?â
His voice is soft when it comesâhesitant, like itâs a question heâs asked himself a hundred times before daring to say it out loud.
You freeze, heart thumping.
Look up.
Meet his eyesâblue, quiet, uncertain.
You nod, barely, and he steps closer.
Not too close.
Not close enough.
His fingers brush against yours as he takes the clipboard from your handsâbarely a touch, but it leaves a trail of warmth in its wake.
Your breath catches.
For a secondâjust a secondâ
You think maybe heâll say something more.
Maybe he wants to.
Maybe you could.
But thenâ
âHey there, sweetheart.â
Jake.
Loud, easy, grinning like he owns the world.
The moment fractures.
Bob stiffensâlike a string pulled too tightâand takes a step back so fast it feels like a rejection.
Your heart aches.
It aches.
Jake leans on the workbench, too casual, too close, all sharp smiles and glinting eyes.
âDidnât mean to interrupt,â he says, but the way his eyes flicker between you and Bobâ
He did.
He knew.
Bob clears his throat, adjusting his glasses, his hands fidgeting with a wrench like itâs an anchor.
His eyes donât meet yours again.
And you sit thereâ
Breath caught in your throat, hands curling into fists, heart aching so deep it feels like a bruise.
âž»
You lie awake that night, staring at the ceiling, thinking about the way Bobâs fingers hesitated against yours.
The way his voice almost said something more.
The way he stepped back.
The way Jake stepped in.
And you thinkâ
If you had just said something.
If you had just reached out.
If he had just stayed.
But itâs too late.
Itâs always too late.
You try not to look for him.
You really do.
But itâs impossible.
Bobâs there, alwaysâ
Moving quiet through the hangar, sleeves pushed up, glasses slipping down his nose, mouth soft like heâs always thinking of a question heâll never ask.
And you ache.
You ache for the way he glances at you when he thinks youâre not lookingâ
The way his eyes flick to your mouth, your hands, your faceâ
Then dart away so fast it feels like you imagined it.
You ache for the way he stands near, but never too close.
The way his hand almost brushes yours when you pass in the hallâalmost, but not quite.
You ache for the way he doesnât say your nameâ
Like if he says it too soft, too careful, he might give something away.
And the worst part?
Jake sees it.
He sees it all.
âž»
It happens againâ
Late afternoon, golden light slanting across the floor.
Youâre at the workbench, sorting files. Bobâs there, quiet, handing you a screwdriver you didnât even realize you needed.
Your fingers brush.
Itâs barely anythingâ
But your breath catches.
You feel the heat of his skin, the calluses on his fingertipsâ
And for a second, it feels like the world pauses.
Your eyes flick to his.
Heâs already looking at youâsoft, tentative, like he wants to saysomething.
His lips partâjust barelyâ
And thenâ
âDonât let Bob keep you too long, darlinâ.â
Jake.
Again.
Heâs leaning in the doorway, arms crossed, grin sharp and too confident.
His gaze cuts between you and Bob like a knife.
Bob freezes.
You freeze.
The moment shatters.
Bob steps back so fast you feel it like a cold wind.
His voice is quiet, almost small.
âIâuh, I should get back to it.â
He doesnât meet your eyes.
Doesnât say your name.
Just leaves.
And youâre left standing there, hands trembling, heart aching in your chest like a bruise you canât stop pressing on.
Jake smiles, all easy charm, and leans closerâtoo close.
You flinch.
He notices.
Of course he notices.
You look awayâ
But your eyes follow Bob.
They always do.
âž»
You donât know how much more of this you can take.
The silence.
The ache.
The almost.
You think maybe youâll breakâ
And thatâs when it happens.
Thatâs when Maverick walks in.
Youâre at the hangar againâ
Itâs late, the light dim and soft, the world humming quiet.
Bobâs there, working on a checklist, sleeves rolled, hands steady.
You stand beside him, close but not too close, just watchingâ
Letting the air between you ache.
Itâs too much.
You ache for himâ
For the way his voice goes soft when he talks to you, the way his eyes flicker down to your hands, then dart away, cheeks flushing pink.
You ache for how careful he is.
And you hate the way Jake knows.
The way he leans against the table, grinning like the world is his, like youâre just another prize to chase.
âDarlinâ, you keep hanginâ around Bob like that, heâs gonna start thinkinâ you like him,â Jake teases, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Your cheeks burn.
Bobâs head snaps upâ
Eyes wide, lips parting like heâs about to say somethingâ
And thenâ
âHey!â
Maverickâs voice cuts through the air, sharp and unmistakable.
The whole room freezes.
Your stomach drops.
Heâs standing in the doorway, arms crossed, eyes narrowedâ
And heâs looking right at Jake.
Right at Bob.
Right at you.
âEnough.â
His voice is low, controlled, but thereâs a danger in itâ
AÂ warning.
Bob steps back instinctively, hands raised like heâs been caught doing something wrong.
Jake smirks, tilting his head like heâs about to make a jokeâ
But Maverick cuts him off.
âYou.â
His gaze locks on Jake, sharp as a blade.
âSheâs off-limits.â
The words drop like a bomb.
The air cracks with tension.
Your heart stops.
Bobâs eyes widen, mouth parting in shock.
Jakeâs grin falters, just for a secondâ
Then he raises an eyebrow, tilts his head like he doesnât get it.
âOff-limits?â Jake echoes, a slow, dangerous smirk curling at the corner of his mouth. âWhyâs that, Mav?â
And thenâ
âSheâs my daughter.â
The words are sharp, final, echoing through the room like a gunshot.
Silence.
Total, absolute silence.
Your breath catches in your throat.
Bobâs eyes snap to yours, wide and uncertain.
Jake lets out a low whistle, backing off with a smirkâ
But thereâs a flicker of something in his eyes.
Something like regret.
You stand there, frozen, feeling the weight of it all crash down on youâ
Your heart pounding, your hands trembling, Bobâs stunned expression burning into your skin.
You want to run.
You want to scream.
You want to ask Bob if this changes everything.
Because it does.
You can feel it.
And in the corner of the roomâ
Maverick watches, arms crossed, jaw tightâ
Like a man whoâs been holding onto this secret for too long.
Bob doesnât say anything.
He justâ
Stands there.
For a secondâone secondâ
You see it on his faceâ
The way his eyes soften, the way his lips part like heâs about to say your name, like maybe heâs about to stay.
But then he steps back.
And it hurts.
He tugs at his sleeves, clears his throat, andâwithout a wordâhe walks away.
Out the door, down the hall, like he canât get away from you fast enough.
Your chest feels like itâs caving in.
And youâ
You snap.
You turn on Maverick, voice sharp, chest heaving.
âYou really had to say that?!â
The words echo across the hangarâ
Your voice loud, cracking, raw with something you canât name.
Everyoneâs watching.
The guys in the backgroundâ
Hondo, Payback, Fanboy, the whole roomâ
Theyâre all staring.
And you feel itâ
The heat in your cheeks, the burn behind your eyesâ
The weight of it all, crashing down on you like a storm.
âNow the whole base is gonna know!â you snap, hands clenched into fists, voice shaking.
Maverickâs expression tightensâ
Heâs trying to look calm, but you see itâ
The guilt, the worry, the way his jaw ticks as he crosses his arms tighter across his chest.
âIâm your father,â he says, voice low, steady, like that explains everything.
But it doesnât.
Not to you.
Because youâre standing thereâ
Heart pounding, breath shaking, the weight of everything pressing down on your chestâ
And all you can think about is Bob.
Bob, who stepped away.
Bob, who didnât say anything.
Bob, who left like you didnât matter.
And maybe you donât.
Maybe thatâs what this changes.
Everything.
You donât say anything else.
You canât.
You just stand there, blinking hard, feeling the ache in your chest like a bruise.
And somewhere down the hallâ
Bobâs gone.
You barely make it through the door before the tears start.
The second it closes behind you, the walls feel too tight, the air too heavy.
You drop the files on the kitchen tableâyour hands still shakingâand press your palms to the cool surface, head hanging low as the tears spill over.
You donât want to cry.
You try so hard not toâ
But itâs like the ache wonât stop.
Because you know.
You know what it looked likeâ
Bob leaving, the way his face fell, the way he couldnât even look at you.
You think you ruined it.
You ruined everything.
You wipe your face with the back of your hand, chest heaving as you sink into the chair, your breath coming in short, ragged bursts.
You donât even hear the knock at first.
It comes soft, then sharper, like whoeverâs outside is trying not to pushbut canât help themselves.
You sniff, wipe your eyes, and stumble toward the door.
Itâs Maverick.
Of course it is.
Heâs standing there, arms crossed, a faint frown tugging at the corners of his mouthâ
But his eyesâŠ
His eyes are soft.
Worried.
Fatherly.
âCan I come in?â he asks quietly.
You hesitate, but then step aside.
He walks in, glancing around like he hasnât been in your little apartment a hundred times before.
He doesnât say anything at first, just looks at you, hands on his hips, like heâs waiting.
And you crack.
âIâm fine, Dad,â you mutter, wiping at your eyes furiously, trying to hold it together.
But he doesnât buy it.
âYouâre not,â he says softly.
âYouâve been upset since the hangar.â
He crosses his arms tighter, gaze narrowing a little.
âIs it about what I said?â
You swallow hard, biting your lip, the tears threatening again.
You want to say no.
You want to brush it off.
But you canât.
Because itâs not just what he said.
Itâs what it means.
Itâs Bob.
And your voiceâ
It breaks.
âI justââ you start, and then it tumbles out, barely above a whisper.
âI think I might have feelings for Bob.â
The words hang in the airâ
Heavy, quiet, raw.
You donât look at him, canâtâ
Your eyes burn, your heart pounds.
You wait for him to yell, to lecture, to tell you youâre being stupid.
But he doesnât.
Heâs silent.
For a long, long moment.
And then, in a voice so quiet you barely hear itâ
âBobâs a good one.â
You freeze.
Your breath catches.
You look up at him, wide-eyed, heart aching.
He just gives you a small, knowing nod, like heâs been watching you two all along.
And then, like itâs nothing, like this isnât the most important conversation of your life, he grinsâ
âIâm getting pizza for dinner.â
A soft, teasing glint in his eye, like heâs trying to lighten the mood.
âAnything you want on it?â
You blink, tears still in your eyes, and for the first time all dayâ
You smile.
âž»
But what you donât knowâ
What you canât knowâ
Is that when Maverick leaves to get that pizzaâŠ
He calls Bob.
His voice is low, tightâlike a warning, like a threat.
âTrainee Floyd. Meet me at the base. Now.â
Bobâs heart jumps.
He hears it in Maverickâs voice.
He knows.
Bob shows upânervous, hands shoved deep in his pockets, eyes wide.
He stands at attention, back straight, like heâs facing a court martial.
Maverick leans against the desk, arms crossed, looking at him like a man whoâs seen too much.
For a long moment, he doesnât say anything.
Just stares.
And thenâ
âYou like my daughter.â
Itâs not a question.
Itâs a statement.
Plain.
Final.
Like thereâs no point in Bob denying it.
And Bobâ
He canât lie.
So he nods.
Once.
Sharp.
Honest.
Because he means it.
Maverickâs jaw tightens.
His gaze sharpens, voice low and dangerous.
âIf you hurt herâŠâ
A pause, heavy as the ocean.
âI will end you.â
Bob swallows hard.
âI wonât, sir,â he says quietly, voice steady despite the fear curling in his chest.
âI promise.â
Maverick stares at him for a long, long time.
And thenâ
âGood.â
A pause.
A faint, almost-smile, just for a secondâ
Before he claps Bob on the shoulder, maybe a little harder than necessary, and muttersâ
âNow get the hell out of here before I change my mind.â
Bob nods, hurrying to leave, his heart racingâ
But his mind is spinning.
Because now he knows.
Maverick knows.
And maybeâ
Maybe thereâs a chance.
It happens two days later.
Youâre in the breakroom, mindlessly stirring your coffee, eyes fixed on the swirl of cream in the dark liquidâ
Lost in the ache that hasnât left you since Bob walked away.
You hear the door openâ
Feel it, before you see it.
That familiar, gentle presence.
You glance up.
Itâs Bob.
Your breath catches.
He stands there, quiet as ever, hands tucked into his pockets, eyes soft and hesitantâlike heâs not sure heâs allowed to be here.
The silence stretches, thick between you.
You should say something.
You should break the quiet.
But you canâtâ
Because your throat feels tight, like if you open your mouth, itâll all spill out.
So you donât.
You just stare, waiting for him to leave again.
But this timeâŠ
He doesnât.
He steps closer.
Not too close, justâenough.
And in a voice so soft you almost miss itâ
âI didnât mean to walk away.â
Your chest tightens.
You stare at him, breath shallow, your heart pounding.
You donât want to hopeâ
You canât.
Not when it hurts this much.
âI thoughtââ you whisper, your voice catching, barely audible.
âI thought you were upset⊠that you didnât want toââ
He shakes his headâfast, like it hurts to even let you think that.
âI was scared,â he says quietly.
His eyes flicker to yoursâblue and honest and aching.
âI was scared because⊠youâre Maverickâs daughter.â
You swallow hard, feeling the tears prick at your eyes again.
âYeah, wellâŠÂ so what?â
He takes a step closer now.
A breath away.
You can feel the warmth of him, the gravity.
âI like you,â he says, barely a whisper.
Like itâs breaking him open.
Like itâs the truth heâs been holding onto for too long.
âI like you a lot.â
Your breath shakes.
Your hands are trembling.
You blink up at him, heart aching, voice small and scared.
âI like you too.â
The words hang between youâfragile, tender, like they might shatter if you breathe too hard.
Bobâs eyes softenâ
His whole face softensâ
And for a second, it feels like the whole world slows down.
You both take a breathâ
Careful, cautiousâlike youâre not quite sure how to hold this new thingbetween you.
And then, in the quiet, Bob smiles.
Soft.
Shy.
Like maybe heâs been waiting for this moment for longer than youâll ever know.
You smile tooâ
Small, shaky, but real.
Itâs not a kiss.
Not yet.
But itâs a beginning.
Somehow, youâve always known that. Since the first time he entered in the room, youâve felt something, a sort of an energy or a vibe. Yelena looked at you, because she got it even before you could even comprehend what was happening inside of you. It was like a teenage dream that would come to reality. Bob said hello to everybody and your eyes lingered on his face more than you would do with a stranger. You knew what he did, but you didnât really care about it. You werenât scared. After years of working with the Avengers, you knew the risks.Â
It was even funnier, when Bucky asked you, door closed behind you, if you were sneaking out with him. You gulped, embarrassed, but also giggled at the thought. You wished you would, but no, that wasnât you. He was having some kind of affair with somebody else. You shrugged, then you went away in order to go back to your room, but you found Yelena next to your door.Â
âHe did it, didnât he?â She asked and you nodded. Yelena sighed, tired. âIâm so sorry, Y/N. I told him you werenât doing anything with Bob, but he wanted to know it directly from you. Did it hurt you?â
âNot quite as when I saw Bob kissing Sarah,â you answered. Sarah was the classic girl next door: simple, cute and nice. You had nothing against her, really, but you werenât glad to see her with your beloved Bob. Oh, you sounded so riddiculous!
You sighed, while preparing yourself to get into the shower. Yelena gave you a T-shirt for later.Â
âI can only imagine,â Yelena said, while sitting on your bed. âIf I could do something about it, like smashing his face into the wall orâŠâ
âUnfortunately, you canât,â you replied with a smile. âStill, I love you for thatâ.
âNo, I donât like all of these emotions. Iâm gonna get out from here. See you at dinner, babe,â she said and you waved at her.
Sometimes, you thought that she was your only friend beside of Bob. How do you really talk to your friend about you being in love with them? You got into the shower in order to go to dinner very fast. You changed your clothes, then you did your hair. You were wearing your shoes, when somebody knocked at the door.Â
âHey,â a sweet voice said and you recognized it immediately.
âHi,â you replied and your heart began to race.
âI⊠uhm⊠know, from Walker, that Bucky wanted to talk to you about something urgent today. Is everything alright?â He asked and you didnât really know how to answer. You remained silent for a couple of seconds, so he shaked his head. âIâm sorry, I didnât want to intrude. I was just worried about you. Bucky can be very unpleasant, sometimesâ.
âSometimes?â You joked and he smiled.
âMultiple timesâ.
âAnyway, thank you for your concern, but it was nothing seriousâ.
Then, he gulped, nodding, his shoulder on the door jamb and his fingers intertwined. You looked at him, your lips parted as if you were about to ask him a question, but you didnât. He seemed to as well, though.
âIâve missed this,â he said.Â
âWhat?â
âThis,â he repeated, pointing at him and you with a finger. âUs. Being friends, making jokes. Whatever we were beforeâ.
âBefore what?â
âBefore I got with Sarah,â he said and you gulped, trying to hide your sense of guilt. Your feelings.
âWeâre still friends,â you stated and it was true.
âI know,â he replied, then he walked towards you and you started to feel uncomfortable.Â
âPlease, donât,â you said. You couldnât handle it anymore.Â
He stopped.
âI know that thereâs something off here, Y/N. Just tell me,â he said and you felt terrible. He was really trying to have his friend back, but you couldnât even admit that you were in love with him with yourself, let alone with him! You bit your bottom lip. Who knows what Void would have seen, if only he could. Maybe your secret dreams about him or the lowest point of your life, when you followed him to see why he would always go to the cafĂš in front of the compound. You were ashamed of yourself. He couldnât touch you, otherwise he would have found out everything.
âI canât. Iâm sorry,â you found the courage to say, but he sighed.
âY/N, if I did anything to offend you, Iâm sorry,â he said. âYou know that I wouldnât hurt a fly, come onâ.
You tried to hold back the tears.
âPeople canât know anythingâ.
âTrue,â he said, while getting slowly closer to you. Your skin began to get hotter very fast, as if his only presence could make you feel warmer. âBut theyâre not my friendsâ.
âI donât want to know your personal lifeâs secretsâ.
âSomethingâs telling me you do,â he said with the ghost of a smirk on his pale face. You tilted your head. âYou could live with the doubt forever or⊠you could just askâ. You gulped. âAsk meâ.
You released the breath you were apparently holding. When you were just a teenager, you used to fantasize about a lot of fictional and real guys as if it was some kind of game, but now, all of this didnât seem like a game to you anymore. He was real, in front of you, asking you to make him a question. So you did.Â
âWhy not me?â
You knew why he chose her, it wasnât a stupid challenge between two people being in love with the same guy. It was about you and him, this time. It was about being the second chance again.
His eyes flickered. For a moment, he wasnât Bob anymore. He was Void and Void knew how to break into your heart like nobody else. You wondered if you made the right call.
âBecause it was easier,â he answered. You were confused. Easier to be with somebody less demanding than you? Easier than breaking a friendship? âEasier to fake that I didnât care about you as much as I do,â he said, as if he could read your mind. âEverytime I look at you during a mission, I hope that our enemies donât get how much I love you. Everytime I see you walking into the compound, I ask myself if Bucky or Yelena or anybody else knows that Iâm wrapped around your finger. And every damn time that something bad happens, I fear that it happened to you and that I wasnât there to protect youâ.
The tears were rolling on your cheeks at that point.
âItâs unfairâ.
âWhat? That you didnât tell me that you were in love with me?â He asked.
âThat youâd rather sneak around with anybody but meâ.
âYouâre being mean,â he said, clenching his jaw.
âAnd youâre breaking my heartâ.
He looked at you as if you just broke the ice into his eyes and now he was bleeding on the outside. His eyes were glossy and circled in red.
âWell, then itâs a good thing that you did the same with mine, I guessâ.
That was the moment in which your heart shattered into pieces.
***
Yelena was very focused while listening to your argument with Bob, but once you were finished, she rolled on the bed, exhausted. A corner of your lips turned up in half a smile.Â
âYouâre unbelievable!â You exclaimed, but she threw a pillow at you.
âAm I? Youâre the one who fought with the love of her life over a stupid thing!â
The skin of your face started to burn.
âHeâs not⊠Heâs not the love of my lifeâ.
âBabe, come on, he is. And he has been for as long as I can remember. Probably, you were dreaming about him when you were still a teenagerâ.
You sighed. It was like she could read you. That was probably why you felt something already when he just entered into the room and he light it up like it was the easiest thing to do on the planet. At that point, you couldnât even lie anymore: you were desperately in love with him.
âYou think that he was right all along?â
Yelena got up from the bed and shaked your hand.
âY/N, have you met us? Weâre the new Avengers: we go on missions, we try to save the world while we also make stupid jokes about dying in a cool way. Yeah, heâs pretty much rightâ.
You sat down on the bed.
âI ruined everything, didnât I?â You asked her, while your hands are on your face.
âMaybe not,â she said and you could feel that she was smiling.Â
You get up immediately from the bed, as if you could feel his presence. Itâs like a dream coming true. Heâs standing again with an arm on the door jamb, hands in the pockets and a curl of his hair on his forehead. He had never looked more beautiful, if that was possible.
Yelena left the room with a smile on her face.
âHi,â you said, incredibly guilty.
âHiâ, he replied. Even his voice was like drinking cold water during a hot Summer day. It was refreshing for your ears. His face, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air. He really was the man youâve been looking for you whole life. You even dreamt about him when he was still a character in your head. âWhat you said the other day⊠it really hurt meâ.
âBob, Iâm soâŠâ
âNo,â he interrupted you. âLet me finish. Honestly, I could have handled it in a better way. I also wasnât fair to Sarah, you were right, so I broke up with her immediately after our argumentâ.
You were at a loss for words.Â
He walked closer to you. His fingertips caressed your cheek and he was looking at you as if you were the sun and he was desperate to warm up. You felt electricity running through your veins, some tiny shots that were jumping from your back to your neck. He used his thumb to part your lips gently. Your eyes were burning because of the tears behind them. Please, let this moment never come to an end, you thought. Then, he placed his lips on yours and you lost every control over your nerves. Your hands felt the urge to tighten around his hair and your lips became hot and swollen after a short time of kissing. It was like the whole world has disappeared into his embrace. Every fantasy you had when you were little had now become a reality. You couldnât even believe it. Every dream of yours was now there, in front of you. And they were all worth the wait. Â
What Shadows Whisper
Summary: The three times you were there for Bob after a nightmareâŠand the one time he was there for you.Â
Pairing: Robert âBobâ Reynolds x fem! ReaderÂ
A/N: There needs to be more Bob content on this app. I need it BAD. Good grief. Reader is a witch with chaos powers (purple). If youâve been reading Marvel fan fic for a long time, you probably get that joke. This is the longest fic Iâve written! Which is exciting, at least to me! I also got a request somewhat similar to this (and I actually wrote this BEFORE I got the request. Me and y'all are in sync for real.)
Word Count: 2.5k
Disclaimers: I do not own the rights to anything Marvel related, I am merely a nerd who hyperfixates a lot.
Warnings !: Nightmares, mentions of Bobâs drug usage, sleep paralysis, physical violence, slowwwwwwwww burn.Â
When renovations finally finished on the Avengers tower, the building still had a sense of eeriness to it. Maybe it was the fact that you had been here before, years ago, when the original team was still around. You swore if you listened well enough, you could still hear the sounds of your friends, the people you once considered a team. Maybe even a family.Â
Little did you know, you were not the only one haunted by the towerâs quiet halls. It had been a long day of moving things in, and despite being physically (and mentally) exhausted, you just couldnât bring yourself to fall asleep. It was all so familiar, and yet it had none of the comfort nor familiarity that the compound had.Â
You quietly walked over to the kitchen from your bedroom, making yourself a cup of herbal tea in hopes of feeling a sense of peace in the quiet night. You go through the motions, grabbing a mug and turning the electric kettle on, resting your chin in the palm of your hand, leaning against the counter top as the water boils. Thatâs when you heard it; the sound of whimpers, barely noticeable over the rumbling of the boiling water. At first you ignored it, but they progressively grew louder and deeper, like sobs.Â
Once in the hallway, you can pin down exactly which room itâs coming from; Bobâs. Tentatively, you open the door. Heâs thrashing around in bed, trapped in an unpleasant dream. You cross the room to gently put a hand on his head, the familiar thrums of something reckless and wild, something you are all too familiar with.Â
Gently, you squeeze his shoulder, to try and get him out of his head. âBob?â You whisper, eyes roaming over his face to see if itâs working. For a split second, you see his eyes rolling under his eyelids rapidly. You decide to shake him, your voice getting a little bit louder as you try to wake him from his nightmare.Â
âBob!â Your tone is a tad firmer, but it seems to do the trick as his eyes immediately shoot open, hands coming up to grab your throat.Â
You heave and gasp, before using your powers to stop him, the lavender haze surrounding your hands to take him off you. As you regain your breath, you cough a bit, throat aching with the pure force that he put onto you. This seems to break Bob from his trance, as his eyes immediately soften.Â
âI-I am so sorry! I didnât- I was having a-â You shake your head. He shuts up immediately, expecting for you to chew him out the way heâs seen you do to Walker and Alexei a couple of times. He looks down at the floor, ready to be admonished like a child, but instead you speak quietly.
âWant some tea?â Your voice is a little bit gravelly from the pressure that had just been applied there, but you clear your throat and it already sounds better. Bob opens his mouth, then closes it, opting to nod wordlessly. You nod towards the door, and together, the both of you walk to the kitchen just in time for the kettle to finish boiling. You take it off of its power base and grab another mug from the cabinet, pouring you each a cup.Â
The both of you sit in silence as you sip the tea. Itâs not tense, nor is it particularly warm, but it is a truce, one of stability and comfort to end what was a long day.Â
~Â
Bob isnât really sure how to handle nightmares. In the night, the void infects his brain with horrific imagery, when nobody is around to help him. He tosses and turns, trying to find some rest but is only greeted by his mind playing his worst memories, reminding him of all his present anxieties and all the terrible things heâs done to the people whoâve only ever shown him kindness on some sort of sick and twisted loop.Â
When he finally decides to give up on sleeping, he climbs out of bed, his pajamas sticking to his skin just like the guilt he feels for his useless existence. He doesnât expect anyone to be awake, you all train early in the morning and go to sleep early in the night, but once he walks down the hallway, heâs surprised to see you.Â
Youâre curled up with a book, sitting cross legged on the couch, a blanket tossed over your lap. Before he can even consider going back to his room to wallow in self pity, you sense his presence immediately, head flicking up to make eye contact from across the room.
âYouâre up.â You say simply. Itâs a blatant observation.
âI- uh. Yeah. I amâŠâ He blunders. Something about your presence is both comforting and terrifying. Maybe itâs because heâs seen you control other people with the flick of your hand, as if they were puppets on a string. But seeing you here, now, uninhibited by having to fight for your life and save the world, simply reading a book on the couch? Itâs jarring. It reminds him that you, like him, are just human.Â
âHad a bad dream, soâŠâ You nod in understanding, closing the book and placing it on the coffee table.Â
âDo you want to be alone, or..?â Bob shakes his head.Â
âNo. Stay.â He says before he can even think through his words. If you notice how much he tenses at the thought of being alone, you donât mention it, simply beckoning him to sit on the couch beside you. He obliges, the space between you both feeling treacherous, fidgeting with his hands.
âDo you wanna talk about it?â You ask gently. Youâve never been one to push, he thinks to himself.Â
âItâs nothing you havenât already heard before.â He looks down at his hands. Your face twists slightly as you stare at him, then you get up, grabbing the tv remote from its place on the stand.
âThen a distraction would probably be better, huh?â You turn on the tv, flipping through the channels until you eventually settle on some random nature documentary about birds in the rainforest. Not very engaging, but itâs steady. Quiet. Soothing. You move a bit closer, tossing the blanket over his lap as well as your own. He feels his spine slowly decompress and he melts into the couch already feeling incredibly more at ease with you beside him.
The documentary is enough to lull his hyperactive mind into a state of rest. As he drifts off, his body starts to slouch, his head coming down to rest on your shoulder. You freeze at first, unsure of what to do or if you should move him, but ultimately you do nothing. You stay. His presence is warm, despite the void that you know is in him.Â
The next morning, Yelena is up first. She runs her hands through her blonde locks and then she stops, stumbling upon the sight of you and Bob on the couch. The tv is still on and playing some different documentary. The blanket you both are sharing has begun to slip off your laps. She tilts her head at the sight, her eyes filling with something fond before turning off the tv and leaving you two alone.
~
By the time you hit the two month mark of living in the tower, the two of you have established a routine for handling Bobâs nightmares. Youâre an insomniac, heâs learned, so itâs always highly likely that youâre awake when he is awoken in the middle of the night. Depending on how bad the dream is, your guysâ routine changes; tea when he canât really remember it, watching tv or reading him a book if he needs a distraction. He also gets special permission to go into your room.Â
The nightmare wasnât as bad today, but Bob couldnât help but feel pissed off. He was tired, and yet every time he tried to sleep the void came back to him. He begrudgingly walks across the hallway to your room, knocking gently before walking in.Â
Surprisingly, you are actually trying to sleep. You're tucked under the blankets and your head is facing the opposite wall of the door. He almost leaves when he notices, not wanting to bother you, but you turn your head and offer him a sleepy smile. His heart stutters in his chest and he finds himself walking over, just by looking at you.
âCome.â You lift up your duvet and scoot over a little, offering him solace in the warmth of your own bed. He blinks, hesitant, but eventually gives in, climbing into bed with an awkward grace that is unmistakably his. The two of you lay in silence for a little, your body angled facing him, before Bob speaks up.
âIâm so tiredâŠâ Despite your own exhaustion, you recognize the desperation in his tone.Â
ââŠI could help you.âÂ
âHow?â
You bring your hands up in between both of your heads, the purple haze surrounding your hands once again.Â
âI can make you go to sleep? If thatâs okay?â Bob hesitates. The idea of you being in his mind, willingly, fills his stomach with butterflies. Youâve already seen the void, and youâre still here. He trusts you more than heâd like to admit. With the nod of approval, your hands hover over his head. You close your eyes.Â
Bob watches as the familiar lavender color drifts from your fingertips and surrounds his mind. At first, his hands instinctively grab at the sheets. He anticipates pain, but instead is greeted with the feeling of your hands, gentle as always, fingertips grazing his warm skin. His mind is then instantly flooded with something he canât quite place.
Instead of the usual cold emptiness he feels from the void, your powers invade his brain in a warm light. Itâs a stark difference from how he was feeling just a couple of seconds ago. Youâve completely surrounded his mind and body with an all encompassing spark, and for once, he feels at ease. You are so familiar.Â
After muttering something he canât quite catch, you take your hands off his forehead, his head nearly chasing it, just craving your touch. Heâs left with a sense of content heâs never felt before. He feels a little bit hazy, reminding him of that feeling he got in the past when he was high on whatever he could get his hands on, only now itâs not accompanied by the paranoia; He just feels sleepy.Â
You watch as his eyes droop, his body language completely different from how it had been just a mere couple of seconds earlier. Adjusting the blankets around you both, you move closer so that your head leans against his shoulder.Â
âSleep well, Bobby.âÂ
As he drifts off, he realizes that the nickname that his father had taunted him with all those years ago sounds just like a lullaby coming from you.Â
~
Somehow, the day didnât end when you went to sleep- Well, tried to.Â
Despite your usual insomnia, you found yourself actually winding down tonight. Everything had been going well too; The mission you and the new avengers went on had gone smoothly, you got home early and were able to take the most luxurious shower of your life, Yelena had made you all dinner, and you stayed up having good conversations with the rest of the team with no fighting. By the end of the night, you had felt good enough to go to sleep. It was the making for the perfect end to an all around awesome day.Â
Until it wasnât.
When sleep finally overtook your body, you were met in the depths of your mind. It started off just like a dream wouldâŠuntil the colors became devoid of life, and faces of people began to blur. You could physically feel the terror of peopleâs minds you had hijacked in the past. Their fears are now yours. You know youâre asleep, and you know that what youâre feeling isnât real, but you can not bring yourself to wake up. Your body is trapped under what feels like two tons worth of weight on your chest, and you swear you can see something, someone? Just watching you.Â
You awaken in an uncomfortable sweat, your body shooting upright pretty much immediately after your sleep paralysis episode. Hastily, you toss the covers off of you, welcoming the bite of the cold air.Â
It wasnât real. It isnât real.
You rub your fist into your sternum, it hurts, but you keep pressing harder and harder until youâre sure that the phantom weight is gone. Thatâs when you hear a soft knock on your door, followed by the quiet creak.
âY/n?â Bob calls out from your doorway. When he takes in your state, he lets himself in the rest of the way. You wonât mind anyway. He doesnât bother asking if youâre okay; he can tell just by looking at you.Â
âWhat are you doing here?â You ask, voice weak and shaken from what you just woke up from. He walks closer and takes your hand away from your chest, and gently squeezes your wrist, before letting it fall back to your side.Â
âSomething feltâŠwrong.â He doesnât know how to elaborate without feeling like a creep. He knew that something wasnât right with you. He just had to come and check up on you. Your jaw tenses and you avoid his gaze. Rather than make tea or distract you, he sits on the edge of your bare bed, hesitating for a moment before opening his arms. A silent offer.Â
Your body moves before your mind can protest the action, and you sit beside him, leaning into his embrace. The warmth of his body is immediately welcoming and you canât help the way your body naturally relaxes, wrapping your own arms around him. He rests his chin on your head before speaking again.
âCan I ask what it was about?â His throat vibrates against your skull, and you dig your fingers into his cozy blue sweater even more.Â
âWasnât just a nightmare. I could feel them.â You whisper. âThe people Iâve hurt. Their fear. Like I was trapped in their minds while I was taking over themâŠâ You shake your head and push into his chest slightly. He doesn't move an inch, just squeezes your body again in encouragement.Â
âI couldnât wake up. I tried.âÂ
âIâm sorry. It couldnât have been pleasant.â You shrug in response, eyes heavy with exhaustion. He lets the silence settle before he helps to get your duvet back on your bed. He helps you get settled, making sure youâre comfortable.Â
âDonât goâŠâ You mumble. Bob softens at the words, nodding. Heâs not going anywhere. He crawls under the covers with you, making himself comfortable in your bed once again. Unlike usual, he is the one to close the space between you two. As you begin to fall asleep, he looks like he wants to say something- instead, he presses his forehead to yours.Â
âGoodnight.â He whispers, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.Â
âGoodnight, Bobby.âÂ
He doesnât say it. He doesnât need to. Not tonight.Â
YOU TASTE LIKE HEAVEN â±Â BOB REYNOLDS X FEM!READER
let me make it up to you
+18 MINORS DNI đČ â âĄ Ë àŁȘ oral (f receiving), bob eating pussy for the first time, praise kink, begging, overstimulation.
author's note: bob eating you out for the first time. that's it that's the tweet. me next me next me next!!!!!! i know for a fact bob reynolds loves eating pussy!!!!!!!!! and i volunteer as tribute!!!
The mission was over, but your mind and your entire body were still buzzing with adrenaline. It had gone way better than you'd expected. And Bob? He did so well. After all your training, the barked orders, the sharp correctionsâyouâd seen every bit of it click into place out there. No hesitation. No second-guessing. Just raw, controlled power. Heâd finally stopped doubting himself.
And you were so fucking proud of him.
You were about to go find him and tell him that when he came into your room, closed the door behind him and turned to look at you like he hadn't taken his eyes off you since you all go tback.
âHey, you,â you said softly, a smile tugging at your lips.
âHi,â he breathed, barely more than a whisper.
He stood there like he wasnât sure he was allowed to come closer. Like he wanted to kneel but hadnât figured out why yet.
âYou okay?â you asked.
He nodded slowly. âYeah. Just⊠I needed to see you.â
You crossed the room toward him, fingertips brushing his chest. âYou did good today, Bob.â
His breath hitched at that.
âReally good,â you murmured. âI saw the way you moved. The way you didnât hesitate.â
His eyes fluttered closed. âThatâs âcause of you.â
You tilted your head. âNo, thatâs you finally believing in yourself.â
He opened his eyes againâand this time, they were shining. Hot. Intent.
âI canât stop thinking about it,â he said. âWhat you did for me last time.â
You arched a brow, feigning innocence. âHmm? Youâll have to be more specific, Bob.â
His cheeks flushed, but his voice stayed steady. âWhen you had my dick in your mouth.â
You smirked. âAh. That.â
He swallowed, hands curling into fists at his sides. âYou made me feel⊠like I was the only thing that mattered. Like you wanted to ruin me. And you did.â
You leaned in, lips brushing his ear. âYou liked it?â
âI fucking loved it,â he whispered, shaking. âAnd IâI want to do that for you now. Please. Iâve never done it before, but I need to. I wanna taste you. I wanna make you feel everything I feltâand more.â
You pulled back and looked into his eyesâblown wide, glassy, starved.
âYou really wanna go down on me, Bob?â
âIâve never wanted anything more in my life.â
You smiled. âThen get on your knees, baby. And show me.â
Bob dropped like gravity pulled him down. No hesitation. No nerves nowâjust need. He settled between your thighs like itâs where he belongs, hands warm and a little shaky as they skim your hips, sliding your pants down slow.
When he saw youâslick and flushed and soakedâhe let out this wrecked little moan, like just the sight of your pussy nearly knocked him out.
âFuck,â he breathed, eyes locked in like he canât look away. âYouâre soâJesus, youâre perfect.â
You laughed softly, breathless already. âYou gonna just stare or are you gonna do something about it?â
âI wanna,â he said, like itâs killing him. âIâve just neverâfuckâI didnât know it could look this pretty. I didnât know Iâd want it this bad.â
He leaned in. Breath ghosting over your skin. And thenâfinallyâhis tongue drags one slow, tentative stripe through your folds.
You gasp.
Bob groans, like he just tasted something divine. âHoly shit. Why didnât anyone tell meâfuckâthis is insane.â
Then he licks again. And again. Bolder. Firmer. Heâs already messyâspit and slick all over his chin, tongue moving like heâs trying to memorize every inch of you.
âFucking hell,â you moan, one hand flying into his hair. âBobâshitâyouâre actually good at thisââ
He whimpers. âI need to be,â he mumbles against your clit. âI want you to feel everything. I wanna make you come, baby. Pleaseâlet me.â
You donât get a chance to answerâhis mouth locks onto your clit and sucks and you nearly come off the fucking bed.
âFuckâfuck, Bob, yes! Donât stop, right thereâoh my godââ
He groans into you. Arms sliding under your thighs, pulling you closer, holding you open. His tongue works in filthy, perfect circles. Heâs obsessed. Like heâs dying to make you fall apart.
âYou taste so good,â he pants. âSo fucking goodâI could stay here forever.â
You're already trembling. Your hips canât stay still. âBobâfuckâdonât stop, pleaseâjust like that, yesââ
And when you come? You scream. Legs shaking, hand yanking at his hair, body writhing under the weight of it. He moans with your orgasm like it feeds him. Like heâs addicted to it.
But he doesnât stop.
Your thighs are trembling. You can barely think. Your bodyâs still shuddering from the orgasm he just dragged out of youâand Bob is still down there. Still licking. Still moaning like heâs been possessed.
You try to push at his head, weakly. âB-Bobâfuck, waitâI need a secondââ
But he growls. A low, desperate, hungry sound against your cunt that makes your spine arch right off the bed.
âNo,â he pants. âYouâre not done. I need another one. Give it to me, babyâplease. I know you can.â
He sounds wild. His voice has gone wrecked and hoarse, his mouth slick with you, eyes glazed like a man who hasnât tasted water in years.
âLet me make you come again,â he begs, voice shaking. âLet me wreck you like you wrecked me. PleaseâI can take itâyou can take it. Just one more. Please, baby, come onââ
And then he goes right back in.
Tongue fucking you. Sucking your clit like heâs gone mad. Heâs not gentle anymoreâheâs starving, messy and frantic and relentless. The sounds echoing off the walls are filthyâhis moans, your gasps, the slick of his mouth on your cunt like heâs drowning in it.
Youâre already spiraling. Overstimulated, twitching, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes.
âBobâ IâfuckâI canâtââ
âYes, you can,â he growls, gripping your thighs tighter. âYouâre doing so goodâfuck, youâre perfect. Let go for me. Wanna taste you again, wanna feel you come all over my mouth. Come on, babyâcome again.â
You fall apart.
It crashes over you like a fucking waveâsharp and overwhelming. You scream, legs clamping around his head, body spasming while Bob groans and keeps going, licking you through every pulse and twitch until youâre begging, sobbing, gasping for breath.
âPleaseâ Bobâpleaseâstop, itâs too muchââ
He finally pulls back, face flushed and soaked, pupils blown wide like he just touched god.
He looks up at you with a wrecked smile.
âYou taste like heaven,â he whispers.
Close to you || (Bob Reynolds x reader)
Summary: AU! Where Yelena asks Y/N and Bucky for a big favor while they're on a mission: to save Robert Reynolds, a friend of hers. Thinking it would be an easy mission to carry out, they readily accept, only to be surprised to find that it won't be as they thought.
And Bob is nothing like he pretends to be.
Author's note: Hello! So this is basically a dream that I had last night and I couldn't not write it. I hope you enjoy it đ
Content warnings: au! fanfic, fluff, curse words, void being a flirt kinda? (i know he's not like that in the comics, but a girl can dream), bucky and reader acting like sister and brother, bob having a soft spot for reader, shy! bob, hints of angst.
"What's his name again?"
"Robert Reynolds," Yelena says through Y/N's earpiece "They've had him there for a long time, and I promised to go get him once I knew his location."
Bucky prepares his weapons, his brows slightly furrowed, as he listens to the blonde through the communicator in his ear as well.
"Old friend or an ex from the past?" Bucky asks, to which Y/N ââsmiles in amusement.
Yelena laughs sarcastically.
"Ha, ha, ha. Yeah," she says. "He's just a friend. I could never see him that way in my life, and he thinks the same. I'm not his type, anyway."
"We'll do our best, Yelena," the girl assures her, starting to walk with Bucky to the back entrance of the place.
Yelena thanks them, then leaves the duo on their own. They both act stealthily and cautiously to avoid being seen by the guards. Bucky is in charge of throwing a rope that sticks to the ceiling of the compound, giving it a couple of tugs to make sure it's secure.
The black-haired man watches her.
"You coming?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Of course," she begins to rise into the air with the ease of her powers. "See you up there."
Bucky complains and curses, while Y/N laughs. She is the first to reach the roof and waits a few seconds until the man reaches her side.
"Sometimes I forget you can fly," he says, letting go of the rope and letting it fall from the ceiling.
They start walking to the ventilation duct, which Bucky easily opens with his metal arm. He lets Y/N go through first, and she cautiously squeezes through the ventilation duct, complaining about the space in the process. With great care and effort, they begin to walk through the limited space until they reach the grate that leads to the lab where Robert was. The duo stays on their knees, crouching, peering through the grate, a bright orange light emanating from it.
"I think it's here," Bucky says, adjusting the weapon in the small backpack on his back.
"Do you know the plan?" Y/N nods as she peers through the grate, looking at a man lying on a stretcher in the fetal position. "You ready?"
"Are you?" He looks at her, to wich she confirms her answer with the movement of her fingers that open the metal grate.
Bucky is the first to go down, trying to make as little noise as possible, then raises his arms and embraces Y/N in them. They make sure no one is watching them, so they give Yelena the sign to lock the glass room they're in. Suddenly, the deafening sound of the metal doors slamming shut is heard, jarring the brunette awake, who falls off the stretcher and onto the floor.
"Ouch!" he groans.
Y/N walks over to him and crouches down to check on him. Bob's eyes are still closed from the impact, a look of grievance on his face.
"Are you Robert?" she asks, frowning.
Bob opens his eyes and finds himself staring at the girl in front of him.
He swallows and nods repeatedly.
"Yeah, yeah."
She smiles and brings her fingers to the communicator in her ear. "We got him, Yelena," she says triumphantly.
The brunette sits up, resting his elbows on the floor and looking at her with hope in his eyes. He remembers the blonde-haired girl who stood by him when he needed her most. Until Valentina's team managed to capture him again to continue turning him into their weapon. Time passed and his hope faded, but now a calm slowly invaded his being.
"Good job, guys. Thank you" says Yelena and the smile on her face can be heard through the earpiece.
Y/N looks back at Bob and gets up from the ground offering her hand to help him, which he accepts. Robert notices Bucky who is looking at him carefully and cautiously, alert to any sudden movement.
"Well, Robert. We need to go. Now," Y/N says.
Bob nods, not questioning her decision.
He feels the blue-eyed man's cold glare and swallows, suddenly feeling small; it's as if he hates him without even knowing him, and doesn't understand why. But he doesn't have time to continue questioning that, as a deafening alarm suddenly sounds. The metal doors begin to rise, revealing several guards pointing guns at them behind the glass.
"Shit," the girl curses and positions herself next to Bucky.
"I thought we had more time, Yelena," Bucky says, sounding exasperated.
"Fuck, I didn't think they'd discover us so quickly."
"Really? Well, they did," Bucky says, readying his weapon.
He signals Y/N with his hand, indicating the vent for them to leave. "Go, I'll distract them."
"Come on," she says taking Bob's arm ânot thinking twice, the girl knows Bucky can take care of this on his own.
They move as quickly as they can.
"Can you get in?"
"I-I think so."
Y/N lets the brunette climb first, then pulls herself up and enters, feeling Bob help her by wrapping his arms around her waist. The pair crawl through the duct quickly until they reach the exit to the roof. Soon they both step out, but stop abruptly when it can be heard the sound of guns pointed at them. There are some guards who went up to the roof to catch them.
"Stop! Don't move!" one of them shouts.
Both Y/N ââand Bob raise their arms in surrender, until the girl decides to move her hands and take the guns from them, while Bob throws them away through the air, letting them fall while hearing their cries for help. She looks at him in surprise and raises an eyebrow, to which Bob glances at her, as if what he did was wrong.
"Wow, that was good."
Bob smiles and shrugs.
"Thank you. You too."
The moment of victory doesn't last long, as Bob feels something stinging his neck. He reaches for his neck and pulls out a dart, staring at it with a frown. The girl notices that one of the guards is left in the corner, and before he can attack them, she uses her powers to shot him with one of the guns that was on the ground.
"Fuck," Bob says.
Y/N's eyes widen and she reaches for him when she realizes he's about to faint. The girl's arms wrap around him as best she can and she tries to communicate with Bucky.
"Bucky, we have a problem here."
"Yeah, me too!" he replies, while she hears the bullets on the other side. "Do you think you can make it to the car?"
The girl looks down at Bob, who is unconscious, and considers her options. She can fly to the car without a problem, but she's never carried someone in her arms while doing so. However, Y/N would have to do it if she wanted to complete the mission.
She sighs and nods with her head, even if Bucky can't see her.
"Yeah, i can do that."
"I'll be there in a minute. I need to take care of something before. Be careful" he says the last thing in a concerned tone.
"I will. You too, Bucky" she asks.
Without waiting any longer, she grabs Bob's body in her arms and soars into the air until she reaches the car. She opens the door with a flick of her fingers âwithout needing the keys, and carefully puts Bob inside, then gets in the car and closes the door, checking that no one else is near the perimeter. Y/N catches her breath as she adjusts Bob's body so he's sitting in the car and she puts on his seatbelt.
Y/N brushes a strand of hair away that's falling from the man's forehead and looks at him, scanning the details of his calm face. But the calm doesn't last long because Bucky decides to jump into the car without a warning.
"Fuck, Bucky! What the hell!" she exclaims, feeling her heart race in shock.
"No time to yell at me! We have to go, now!" Bucky yells as he starts driving.
The black-haired man drives like there's no tomorrow, and they get as far away from the scene as possible, feeling the bullets hit the car, but the sound of an explosion steals their attention.
"Shit. That was you?" she asks, looking over her shoulder.
"I had to stop them somehow," Bucky says, his eyes fixed on the road.
"Not bad," she says, pouting and shrugging.
Bob slowly wakes up, opening his eyes and looking around.
"What happened?" he asks in a soft tone.
Y/N looks at him and smiles.
"Everything's okay. We managed to escape, don't worry," she comforts him in a soft tone, noticing how Bob's frown softens and she can see the relief on his face.
"Is everything okay back there?" he asks, looking at them in the rearview mirror.
Y/N nods, but the man abruptly turns the car to take a shortcut, causing Bob's body to move âand the brunette's face to land directly on Y/N's breasts.
"Fuck, sorry!" Bob says panicking.
Y/N feels a heat spread across her cheeks at what happened with Bob, even though she knows it was a complete accident. Unlike Bucky, who glares at him as he continues driving at top speed.
"Hey, it's okay," the girl says, and Bob immediately pulls away from her.
"You seemed to enjoy it, Robert," Bucky says in a serious tone.
"Bucky. Now's not the... Watch out!"
The car is hit by another vehicle, causing it to flip through the air. Y/N rushes to try to use her powers and stabilize it, bringing it back down to earth, only now they're upside down.
"Are you okay?" Bucky asks, groaning.
"I think so," she replies, looking at Bob, who's grimacing from the impact.
From one second to the next, the girl is yanked out of the car by someone, while Bob and Bucky shout at her to stop and let her go. One of the guards who managed to reach them grabs her by the hair and pulls her head back, putting a plastic syringe down her throat. If she makes a false move, he'll inject her with it.
"You're not that useful with your magnetic powers now, are you?" the guard says in her ear.
Bucky blows the driver's door open and immediately gets out, pointing a gun at him. Bob still hasn't gotten out of the car.
"Ah, easy there. I can inject this into her anytime if you shoot me, soldier."
Y/N looks at him, her eyes telling him not to do anything. Bucky clenches his jaw and lowers the gun, then drops it to the ground and raises his hands in surrender.
"We'll do this: you give me Reynolds, and also I take the girl with me, and no one gets hurt," he offers with a mocking smile.
"Eat shit," Bucky replies, gritting his teeth.
"Yeah, I don't think so," a voice identical to Bob's is heard.
The rest watch as Bob walks toward them slowly but surely, with a much darker and more confident aura than a few minutes ago when they rescued him.
"You're going to let her go, and then I'll take care of you so you never show up again," he assures, standing in front of the guard.
"How are you going to do that? Are you going to beat me up?" He laughs, and Bob just smirks.
The brunette stretches out an arm and uses his hand to make the guard choke suddenly, freeing Y/N, who is instantly rescued by Bucky. They both watch as Bob chokes the life out of the man without having to touch him, then disappears, leaving a dark, black trail on the ground.
The pair stares at him in perplexity, and he turns to look at them, specifically at Y/N, whom he approaches, standing in front of her.
"You're safe now," he says calmly.
A few months had passed since Bob had arrived at the home, greeted by Yelena, who was happy and relieved to see him alive.
The pair shared a unique connection and a friendship they had forged over the years since they met in the laboratory where they were subjected to a series of torture experiments. They had promised to seek each other out once they had found the location they were in. Although it had taken a while, they were now reunited.
The rest of the team had also welcomed him well and were getting to know him over the last few days to integrate him into the group.
Yelena had explained to them that Bob tended to have his good moments and his bad momentsâlike what happened with the guard when Y/N and Bucky rescued him. It was as if they'd possessed poor Bob, turning him into a more confident, powerful man with dark intentions. It wasn't that they judged him for that; everyone there had done things they regretted, but this was different. Something beyond their capabilities.
The rain was now pounding the roof of the compound. The ambient temperature was low, and every time Y/N blew air through her nose, she could see white steam rising from it. The girl had a cup of tea in her hands that relieved the cold a little, while she sipped it, appreciating the rainy landscape in front of her.
The house was completely silent, allowing only the soft sound of falling raindrops to be heard. It was the perfect weather and occasion, according to the girl; she could enjoy it all day with nothing to do and no one to interrupt her. John was spending time with his baby, Ava was on a first date with Yelenaâthe pair were getting to know each other much better after forming a team. Meanwhile, Alexei was working in his spare time as a limo driver to pay some bills, and Antonia had decided to step away from the group for a while to pursue her own business.
So the only people in the house were Bob, Y/N, and Bucky, the latter of whom was in an online meeting at the office with Sam.
Y/N watched through the window as Bob hurriedly ran into the house. She watched as Bob entered, shook his hair, trying to dry it, and then proceeded to take off his jacket and shirt, leaving his torso bare and unaware of Y/N's presence, who looked away.
"How was the gardening, Bob?"
"Oh, shit!" He froze and tried to cover his chest with his shirt "I'm so sorry. I thought I was alone"
She smiles amusedly, still holding her mug. She takes a sip and nods at the rain outside.
"Whenever it rains, I stay inside. It helps me disconnect from everything," she explains, while Bob nods, still holding the shirt to his chest.
Y/N raises an eyebrow and walks over to him, then places the mug on the table, standing face to face with the brunette.
"Need help? I can do the laundry, today." Bob swallows and shakes his head, letting out a nervous laugh.
"You don't have to. It's my stuff."
She shrugs and shakes her head, tilting it as she looks at him. "I don't have a problem with that"
She seriously wants you, right now. Do something. Or I will.
Bob frowns slightly his eyebrows and shakes his head, trying to make him go away. But he knows it's not that easy.
Y/N places her hand on Bob's to encourage him to give her his clothes. Their eyes are on each other, and neither of them seems to want to look away. Bob is a bundle of nerves when he feels Y/N's touch.
"I've noticed you tend to ignore me," she says in a low tone.
Bob's eyes widen and he shakes his head, as if he's been caught in the act.
"No, no, no. I'm, well, I don't... I'm sorry if you felt that way." Bob tries to form a coherent sentence, but has trouble doing so, seeing how Y/N keeps looking at him with those bright eyes he often likes to find in a crowd "I didn't mean to, really. It's just you are incredible and pretty, and I just..... I don't know..."
Seeing the man's worried state, Y/N places a hand on his cheek to make him look at her.
"Easy, it's okay. I'm not mad about it," she says with a smile "I just wanna know why. I would love to get to know you better, actually".
"Really?" the brunette asks.
She nods and smiles sideways.
Bob stares down at Y/N's lips for a few seconds, thinking about how soft they look. He wonders what it feels like to kiss them, and this isn't the first time he's done it.
It wasn't anyone's surprise that Bob started to have feelings for the girl in front of him; he's sure it was the day they rescued him. It may have been immediate, but he couldn't deny the way his heart raced, and it didn't even match how it felt when he was drugged or experimented on. This was better and more powerful, a feeling he craved every chance he got.
Y/N felt the same way about Bob. She found him handsome, sweet, and warm to be around. Lately, she'd been trying to give him hints that she was attracted to him, but the man never noticed. Maybe he was too oblivious, because he was pretty much the only person in the team who didn't seemed to noticed. The first to notice this undeniable attraction was Yelena. She constantly teased them by the looks the pair gave each other, and how they reacted when they heard each other's names in a conversation.
They wouldn't get away with it that easily.
"I, uh... think you're pretty," he blurts out. "And you make me nervous because you're wonderful. In every aspect of the word. "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you or look at you, hoping you'll return my gaze".
She looks at him dearly, feeling her heart race. In a nice way.
"And maybe it's silly, but whenever I'm around you, I feel at peace," he says sincerely. "And I haven't felt that way in a long time."
Can you be more pathetic about it? Just kiss her already!
God damn it, shut up.
Bob falls silent at the sight of her expression and thinks he's screwed up, so before he can explain, or even try to, he feels Y/N grab the back of his neck and pull him closer for a kiss. He's surprised but lets go, letting go of the shirt from his hands to hug her waist, while Y/N rests her hands on his broad shoulders and they continue moving their lips in sync.
Bob doesn't want this moment to end because he thinks he's dreaming, so he wraps his arms around the girl's body to pull her closer to him, feeling that voice in his head bothering him once again.
Just like that, her lips feel good, don't they?
Bob growls when he feels Y/N's hands caresing his chest, feeling the coldness of her fingers. Their moment is interrupted by someone clearing their throat as they enter the room.
The two of them separate from eachother. Y/N lowers her gaze and bites her lip, while Bob alertly stares at Bucky, who looks at him seriously.
"I'll just say you two should go to a room if this goes any further. We don't want this to be any more awkward than it is," Bucky says, going to the kitchen to get a cup and start making some coffee.
Y/N pats Bob's chest, and he looks at her, then follows her like a puppy.
"You don't have to be such an asshole," Y/N pinches Bucky's arm as she walks past him.
"It's my duty as your friend."
"Looks more like a brother, kinda stuff," Y/N says, taking Bob's hand and leading him to his room.
"Use protection!" Bucky warns.
Oh, we will.
Bob internally scolds himself as he hears Void invade his mind for a moment. Y/N laughs in amusement at Bob's reaction, stopping him in the middle of the hallway, just in front of her room.
"We don't have to do anything," she clarifies, and she sees how he relaxes a little.
"But I'd like to spend a little more time together. If that's okay with you."
Bob smiles and nods.
"I'd like that too."
Damn, Bob. We miss the fun part.
SHUT THE FUCK UP.
â â âč â slightly nsfw blurb of â âââ â bob reynolds! àšà§â â his needy nightsâ â ê°â mdniâ !headcanonâ ê± â ·â à
THINKING ABOUT how BOB is just a man looking for the calmness that he could only find in you. he needs you, one way or another, even if heâs obsessive, what could he do? youâve cared for him since the day you met, so he was tied to you, waiting for you to care for him again and again.
constantly, he had a few nightmares about his early life and he tried his best to appear strong when this happened, but he always ended up getting up from his bed and staggering in the dark to your dorm, barefoot and quiet, trying not to wake any of the others as he slowly opened the door. bob needed your affection those nights, he could only go back to sleep like this, when he could smell you next to him.
the silent agreement between you two had always been to leave your door unlocked, for him, so when he needed you, he wouldnât have to say it, just come in and lie down next to you in bed. it worked well, he only woke you up when he really needed you to take care of him and apparently, this was one of those nights.
his hand gently moved you in your sleep, he was sitting beside you in your large bed, waiting anxiously and apprehensively for you to wake up. âwake up, please,â he asked, still poking you until he seemed relieved to notice your eyes opening. you didnât say anything for a few seconds, just yawning and sitting up in bed as you looked at him, it wasnât hard to tell what happened. âneed you.â
âi know, baby, calm down.â you whispered sleepily, your fingers caressing the back of his neck before tangling in his strands of hair. he leaned into your touch, closing his eyes for a moment, trying to calm himself and forget the horrible nightmare he had had. âneed help gettinâ back to sleep?â
still with his eyes closed and his breathing trying to return to normal, bob agreed, but not before making an observation about what he wanted. âi want it the way you did it before.â he added, making you nod before running your fingers down his shoulder in gentle touches. âplease.â
the way you had done it before, of course, he had become a little addicted to the way you had made him sleep when things had gotten particularly heated between you a few nights ago. you didnât expect him to ask for more, but here he was doing it in your bed after a nightmare. âitâs okay, iâll do it for you.â
you tapped his shoulder softly, signaling for him to lie down on your bed as you lifted the pillow a little, not enough for him to sit up and lean back, just something in between. âjust be quiet, yeah? the others donât need to hear us.â your whisper was gentle and delicate, he did what you silently asked and stared at you the whole time, his pupils dilated waiting for what he needed.
calmly, your hand caressed his abdomen under his hoodie, gently going down and scratching him very lightly until you reached the hem of his pants. you didnât even need to ask him if he really wanted this now, if he was sure about it, the look of anticipation on his face said enough.
a groan escaped him, your fingers were cold when they touched the milky skin beneath his boxers. he felt a shiver run through him, he was still dealing with the effects of his previous nightmare, but your touch was beginning to relax him. bob just wanted you to be nice and take that stupid frustration out off him like you did last time without even knowing.
ârelax, you know i wonât hurt you.â the whisper you gave came out a little more muffled this time, when your lips connected with his and a sweet kiss was placed there. as a show of affection, that you were taking care of him as he wanted. âyou deserve to be well taken care of.â
he nodded, biting his bottom lip without pressure as your lips pulled away from his, he wanted this to last longer, but he could settle for now. âthank you.â he whispered back to you, one of his hands slipping under your shirt to caress your bare waist, he genuinely wanted to thank you in some way other than words. âi... i love you.â
the small smile that formed on your face when you heard him was like the calm he felt heâd always need. he liked the way everything with you was nice and calm, as it should be, even when he was a mess. âi love you too, sweet boy.â
