Am I the only one who feels spoiled by reading Tamora Pierce as a child and then never finding something that hit quite the same? She really had it all. One of the only authors I’ve seen do multiple generations well (because the previous generations aren’t just offed or all of their progress backtracked). Ambient vs scholarly magic systems is still one of the coolest magic systems to this day. The friendships are perfect and just the right amount of romance to make it fun. Redemption stories that fit the characters and don’t make them perfect angels even as they grow for the better. Tragic regression stories that haunt the characters (and me).

Yeah so with the Blu-ray rereleases being released month by month made me believe that there’s going to be some kind of big v10 update at the end of it…. And I just got the v1 blu-ray in the mail today. That “exclusive art card” that comes with it has a piece of the v10 concept art on the back

Why even include that if you weren’t building up to an announcement about v10

Probably my favorite shadowbox card art to date.

I felt worries about trapping all the work I did on Misty and the riverbed under a layer of plastic, but it turned out pretty cool. I am once again hit with the curse of "looks awesome in person but doesn't photograph well." But at least it still looks decent in the photos.

I included some in-process photos to show what it looks like without the layer of plastic, and the waves before their dried and turned clear.

It's fun to do full arts, even if I can't afford real ones just print these on cardstock.
