I disagree. I don’t think Pink was just pure rage. She had other powers besides destruction. They were all entitled and destructive at one point. But I love to hear people’s different opinions! It’s so cool to see how people interpret the same things completely different from what I do.

Of course! If we all had the same opinions on the characters, any conversation about them would be boring. Pink, specially, is the type of character that creates discourse, because thats exactly why she was made like that. To be a point of discussion amongts fans.

I also agree she wasn’t just “pure rage”. In the flashbacks we can see that she is kind with her Pearl (Volleyball), and she considers her her friend. Which only makes the breaking of her eye even more painful, for both Volleyball and Pink.

In fact, i thing the idea that Pink was made for destruction works well with how she grew as person. Even before the Volleyball incident, she showed compation, and the desire to have friends, which i believe would be very against the idea of how a Diamond should act. 

I think thats kind of the point of the whole series: just cause you were made for a role, doesn’t mean you have to fulfill it.

#okay but can we talk about how multiple cultures were appropriated and/or misrepresented in BD?#because it’s actually way more problematic than i realized initially 

^ yes, we can absolutely talk about this. i’m romanian and can only PERSONALLY to speak to that extent, but the way pretty much every culture was depicted here was an act of appropriation and misrepresentation on par with smeyer’s theme of exploiting rich cultures as plot devices
