realizing they can never return home with the Skywalker triplets?
Gladly! This follows them throughout the trilogy and touches on some of the aftermath. It's vague on purpose, but the details here are mostly true to how things will go for them after the war (if I tweak a few minor things, I’ll edit this fic to reflect that). Also, I added some Han in here too, hope you don't mind:
War was a funny thing.
Lucy and Leia had grown up hearing stories about it, dipped into it as children, and thrust into it as adults. Luke had grown up knowing about it only from the Imperial history books, ignorant to the rest of it by design, and thrust into it with little warning as an adult, with only his mentor and surrogate sister to guide him.
But then his mentor died, he gained two friends, and his surrogate sister turned out to be the more deeply connected to the Force and lightly trained in connecting to it and holding a staff.
But she at least had resources from Ben—Obi-Wan, but Luke and Leia refused to call him that, and Lucy had always called him Obi—so the two of them muddled through.
It wasn’t easy. Between Jedi training and the fights against the Empire, sometimes it felt like only their promise kept them going through the worst of it: no more children fearing the Empire.
Lucy and Luke’s shared nightmare had turned out to be real. Leia had lost her home planet, her parents, her people. Han had been homeless all his life, bouncing around, taking odd jobs, never having a place to call home. They refused to let any other child suffer such horrors…and with the defeat of the first Death Star, it became easier to believe.
So they threw themselves into it, dedicated themselves to the cause, rose up in the Rebellion (Leia already had, but she was more than happy to pull them up as far as she could—to her, these were her best friends, her family). It became all about the Rebellion, from early dawn to darkest night, and even while they slept.
Tyranny never slept, after all, so why should freedom?
Fighting took a toll, of course it did. Physical scars abounded in Luke’s prosthetic hand, Lucy’s prosthetic arm, the small scars on Leia’s face and hands from the torture droids, Han’s torture scars and fuzzy vision in the first few seconds of a bright light. The four of them awoke screaming from nightmares, consoled only by the presence of one another. Luke, Lucy, and Leia, with connections to the Force, had it the worst, so often they’d sleep cuddled together if they could afford it.
When the war’s over, they told themselves, things will be different.
So hoped every Rebellion soldier. Everyone wanted to go home again, once there was a home to go back to…and slowly, with each battle won, with each victory, even with each loss…they held on to that, inching closer and closer.
And then Luke, Lucy, and Leia discovering they were siblings.
And then the Rebellion blew up the Death Star.
And then Luke came back, embraced his siblings—siblings, imagine that, two of them—and his best friend.
Things were supposed to get easier after that.
But they didn’t. They never got easier.
Each of them had been hurt, betrayed, in different ways throughout the war. And there was no time to linger on that in wartime, of course—but now, with peacetime nigh…there was time.
Even as peace talks were still under way…their bodies relaxed, slowly registering the danger had passed…and newly processing everything that had come before.
Luke and Lucy taught Leia in the Jedi way, and Leia took to the lessons well. Han and Leia got married, settling into Hosnian Prime, with Leia as one of the top Senators. It felt almost like a restoration.
(It wasn’t home, though, and Leia saw it every time she looked out the window.
Han had never settled anywhere long enough to call home, had never bothered about it. But seeing Leia so tearful, so bitter…he couldn’t help but weep for her.)
And Luke and Lucy…well…
“I’m leaving, Luke.”
“…what?”
“I’m leaving,” Lucy repeated stiffly. “I didn’t want to say anything until the wedding was over, so…here it is.”
“Is this about—?”
“It’s about me,” Lucy snapped, “thank you very much, and I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t make a fuss and let me go.”
Luke pursed his lips. “Does Leia know?”
Lucy looked away.
“I…I rather hoped you’d come with me and—”
“No.” her voice trembled.
“You finished my training, Lu!” He insisted. “I—”
“You’ll manage just fine without me.” She took a deep, shuddering breath. “Better, even, I’d wager.”
“Lulu…”
“My mind is made up, Luke. Don’t waste our last moments trying to change it.”
He sighed, hugging his sister tightly. “If you want to leave…then alright. I won’t stop you. But at least tell me, where will you go?”
“Home, I think. To finish Aunt Beru’s work.”
He nodded sadly. “Keep in touch.”
She smiled bitterly. “We’re already in touch, genius.” She touched her forehead to his, closing his eyes and savoring his presence for a few moments. “I’ll miss you.”
“Please don’t let this be forever,” he whispered. “You’re family, and you know how to find me. You’re welcome anytime.”
“I know,” Lucy smiled sadly. “I know, Luke. I love you too.”
So off she went, flying to Tatooine, intent on her mission.
(Her mission had more than one part to it, but Luke didn’t have to know that.
Nor did he have to know that the further she went, the less it felt like home.)
Luke, for his part, wandered about, following trails and leads to find other Jedi for his Jedi school. Other students, even.
He’d start with adults, he decided. Kids could be challenging, and Luke himself had learned as an adult—he had experience teaching that age range. When he found more Jedi…well, then he’d see about teaching kids too.
(And yet, no matter where he went, no matter how many friends he made or places he settled…his heart still longed for home.
His heart still longed for his sisters.)

25 of the Spotify Wrapped ask game!
“Younger Now” by Miley Cyrus! Which is SUCH a Lucy song omg (and also a Morgan song, but moreso Lucy imo).
I mean…think about how quickly things change for Lucy. Yes, she knows a little about the Empire, Rebellion, and Jedi, but…a simplified version, similar to how a fairytale would tell it (and yes, Star Wars is a fairytale in a sense, but you get my point: she was told the very basics). She knows a little more than Luke regarding Jedi and the Empire, but otherwise, they’re mostly in the same spot. And for years, this is what she believes.
Then at 10, she has a “nightmare” about being chased by an Inquisitor. Then at 19, she learns it wasn’t a nightmare at all. And then she joins the Rebellion, and she’s forced to grow up very quickly—coming to grips with the reality of war and leaving behind childish things, like her happy, carefree childhood.
Even still, the Rebels find time to have fun when they can—they have to, to remember who they’re fighting for. And when they do…they feel so much younger. They don’t feel like jaded fighters, they feel…younger, lighter, even if only for a moment.
Or, as the lyrics go:
“No one stays the same,
You know what goes up must come down.
Change is a thing you can count on,
I feel so much younger now!”
The triplets feel this lightness more when they’re around each other 💞 because of course they do. But for Lucy…Astra brings that out in her too!
send me a number, and I’ll tell you which song from my Spotify Wrapped it is…and which OC and (platonic) ship it remind me of!

❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?
🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?
💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?
💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
For Lucy Kenobi!
❤️: What are three of your oc's positive traits?
1. She’s always up for trying new things.
2. She’s fiercely loyal to her loved ones (with one exception, described in "neutral traits").
3. She finds comfort in the Force similar to how Obi-Wan does—and unlike Anakin, who never could quite find that, sadly.
🤍: What are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?
1. She has no issue with breaking rules to do what’s right—from ANH onward, she’ll do this even if it means going against her loved ones, because as loyal as she is to them in nearly all situations, she refuses to have a repeat of what happened with her and Luke.
2. She has a hard time settling in one place for too long (too easily restless, like Luke!).
3. Related to the above, she tends to run away from her problems...something most evident post-ROTJ. It causes some friction between her and a certain Sequels-era family member 👀
💔: What are three of your oc's negative traits?
1. She can be ruthless at times in defense of her loved onesa trait she shares with Anakin (mostly by coincidence, but still it’s a neat parallel).
2. Her anger makes her irrational and snappish—usually when she hurts someone's feelings, it's because she said something thoughtless while angry.
3. She holds fierce grudges and doesn’t forgive easily, which makes it all the more remarkable when she does forgive.
💘: What and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
Luke and Leia! And Han, he’s slowly working his way in 😂 also Astra! She and Nakari are still at the beginning of their friendship, but she’ll rank as one of Lucy’s important people by ROTJ

OC Bingo Buddies!
Where do you get your ideas for OCs?
Are any based on people you know?
Which OC is your favorite to write?
Which OC do you identify with most?
What's a random happy memory for you favorite side OC?
Hi! Thanks for stopping by 💞
Where do you get your ideas for OCs?
Honestly they kinda just come to me 😂 I tend to like “sister of/daughter of” OCs (or a combination of both, as Morgan is becoming), and it depends on which guy character (because it pretty much is one of the guys as a launching point usually) I latch on to. Most people create OCs to ship…I create them so I can have older siblings in a way 😂
Though the OCs that stick around usually do because they’re more than just that. They’re the ones I want to take further, explore a deeper story for. There’s a reason Morgan and Lucy are nothing like their first concepts—as time went on, the story I wanted to tell with them changed, and so did they. My OCs usually start as partly projection, and then develop a life of their own 💞
(The side OCs don’t develop as “sister of/daughter of” really, they sorta just spring from whatever character(s) I need for the story. Though they usually develop a life of their own too 😅 even if it takes them a little while)
Are any based on people you know?
Not the OCs themselves, but definitely some of the dynamics 😂 Lucy and Luke, for example, bicker the way my brothers and I do, and some of Barry and Morgan’s later shenanigans will mirror me and my brothers too.
I also tend to based aunt-niece relationships (like Tina & Morgan…and Lucy & Rey later) on me and my aunt 💞 I love her to pieces
Which OC is your favorite to write?
This answer changes all the time, between Lucy and Morgan 😂 currently it’s Morgan, but that could change (though hopefully it won’t until I finish this fic 😅)
I also quite enjoy writing Astra 💞 she’s a bit of a different character, in that she’s a bit more wry and sarcastic (similar to Tory Nichols, if you’ve seen Cobra Kai), and as challenging as that can be character-wise, it’s also super fun when I nail it
Which OC do you identify with the most?
Ooh probably Aminah, though that does feel a bit like cheating because I did create her to be a younger me 😅 if we’re talking about which OC is the most self-insert one I have, it’s definitely her
What’s a random happy memory for your favorite side OC?
Ooh well James and Morgan met because he saw her sitting alone at lunch and decided to sit with her.
She was still pretty wary and uncertain (understandable, being two years younger than her peers), and part of her thought he was making fun of her, so she told him to shove off. James said, “Are you sure? I won’t bother you, I promise…I just needed a place where I can hear myself think.”
Morgan just kinda shrugged and didn’t say anything else. She asked him about it the next day when he sat next to her again, but he just made the same excuse. That kept going on for days until she finally asked what he really wanted.
“I just didn’t want you to be alone,” he admitted, “because you looked like you needed it. I promise that’s all.” It took her a little while to accept that, but it helped that James also felt a little braver and started cracking some jokes, making her smile and laugh.
And that was the start of a wonderful friendship 💞 (and romance, later, though even when that ended, their friendship was as strong as ever)
