I had a lot of fun writing this, and the accompanying art by @kitsumin is adorable, so check it out!

Months, years after the fact, Jouno still can’t fathom exactly why he was chosen as a member of the Hunting Dogs.

Not because he thinks he’s dead weight, or anything foolish like that. He’s well aware that his ability is invaluable in interrogation and capture, and that the others would struggle without him. He knows that his record within the military, handling covert investigations and interrogations both, gave him a lauded reputation within his department — especially at barely twenty-one years old.

What he couldn’t fathom at the time, and what he still can’t quite wrap his head around, is how he, sitting on the border between “military” and “police detective”, managed to catch the attention of a unit that was slated to handle the suppression of dangerous ability users and criminal organizations.
