hey mannnnn i'm reaching through the inferno from my own circle of hell to yours🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 i've been thinking about how ryuunosuke would feel about gin being religious. i think he'd distance himself from the religion itself. i mean, he definitely does, of course he does; he calls himself the devil, thinks he's beyond saving yeah yeah yeah. but i don’t think he'd act like that in front of gin. he'd just be... distant. especially from how gin feels about religion in relation to him. to avoid hurting them further. and maybe to keep himself from properly sitting down with the impact his own self-destruction has had on gin.

still, i think he'd recognize its importance for them and try to accommodate it. maybe even be there for them in a way. though from a distance, as he does with everything

so. akutagawa siblings get-together where they go to a classical concert held in a church. ryuunosuke got them the tickets. he wanted to do something for them, to show that he's not rejecting this part of who they are. and he even tries to relate it to something he enjoys, classical music. he's thoughtful when it's. important

stuff like that has driven me to insanity today. we need some crumbs of them in canon and soon. augh

i can almost watch the scene in my mind. ryuunosuke mentioning the event and trying (failing) to not make it a big deal. acting like he just found the tickets on the street but at the same time wishing for gin to *get* what he truly means, that they can share this part of their life with him. gin gets it <3

been thinking about them too (shocker) and there's just. this distance between them. so much ground for resentment on gin's part and we may never know what they truly think but we know the general outcome, that gin will always love ryuunosuke. it's on o-gin, the sacred texts! it's on asagiri's decision of making gin a character in the fucked up bungoverse. he couldve chosen any other reference to Akutagawa's works. he could've chosen that fucking monkey from hellscreen but he said no bitch! we're making love and devotion and the ultimate sacrifice a character to accompany the bsdverse's most #troubled man and not elaborating on any of it fuck y'all!!!!! i forgot where i was going with this

i remembered. i think akutagawa has undoubtedly hurt gin. if asagiri ever decides to expand on his feelings towards gin in canon i would disappear from earth and become the first man to step on alpha centauri. but for now we can only speculate. it really is a exquisite combination of character on a years long self destructive path and the one to follow them through it all, letting themselves be dragged into hell rather than trying to save both. i don't want to play the blaming game of whether ryuunosuke should've behaved differently or whether gin should have not followed him. i think it's stupid and always done in bad faith. that said, ryuunosuke has definitely doomed gin in some way.

i struggle here with how the o-gin story would reflect on them, if there's meant to be a pivotal moment where bsd gin gave up on heaven (i would guess *that* night) or if it's meant as a reference to them not leaving ryuunosuke's side (do note that beast gin has no cross on them). either way there's no hope for gin. they wouldn't have acted any differently. ryuunosuke stands as o-gin's biological parents who died without knowledge of the christian god, and gin as the one to follow him to the bottom of hell. (it would be unforgivable to enter the gates of heaven without him)

IF akutagawa does know of it, if he's aware of gin's devotion, i guess it would fuck him up, another addition to his many issues. but again, that distance between them..... theyre are not communicating that stuff in any way. i think gin would practise religion quietly, as an outsider in it. if ryuunosuke notices, he doesn't mention it. but he thinks of another peaceful life he could've given gin where they don't have to pray with bloodied hands

(and while we're on classical music i'm curious on what instruments you think they would play. i'm a big violinist akutagawa believer but i also have established in my brain that they own a piano on their apartment. them as a violin piano duo does something to my brain.)

tough question. i get told i'm good at characterization often so maybe that? i'm good at dialogues.

time traveling shenanigans - kunikida mentioned it, reminding the audience that this is indeed a thing that can happen in the bsdverse, so we have it in the back of our minds when it's used in the story again, which. given how pear shaped everything has gotten. seems to be a very feasible option

light snow - why bring tanizaki in now of all times? and leave a cliffhanger where he might die, right after kunikida tells him to use it to escape? ain't no way he's dying now lmao. speaking of-

tanizaki going sicko mode - i want to see it happen. it will. it must. please.......

everyone else will "die" (get sucked into ame no gozen, and we don't quite know what it entails) leaving only sskk alive, to connect to the anime's ending. maybe aya too bc fyodor did make a promise. maybe she'll help them even

^so, atsushi will use his cutting through abilities thingie to rent that thing asunder - to shreds, i say.

the book? - i mean. i can only assume the reason fyodor even did all that is to create a distraction in order to go get it (one can also assume this is why atsushi remains alive while his comrades die - he is considered a key to the book, so fyodor might need him in order to get to it). perhaps something he'll write in it will revert things as well, or bring in a totally new storyline, or kill everyone lol but i sincerely doubt that

meursault gang somehow becomes relevant again - idk if they can physically make it in time to change anything (unless... nikolai...? 🥺) but idk maybe from afar. maybe the book is located there for some reason and they'll use it. maybe sigma will unlock some new power by unlocking old memories or smth idk. anything's possible

I feel like people forget that abilities aren't a well known thing in the bsdverse, like people debate whether they even exist in a lot of parts of the world ??? anyway

She's an independent journalist who's also a major ability conspiracy theorist- she thinks of abilities as something that could be "cured" and also that the government is hiding a ton about abilities from the public (if only she knew 😕)

She does have an ability though!!! Idk about a name but she can "look through" the memories of somebody she touches (however she will see it exactly as they remember it- even if the memory is inaccurate) it does take a lot out of her though </3

When she was twenty she covered Lippmanns death and got lots of attention for it, she's determined to expose the PM and the government and has figured a surprising amount out <- major lippmann fangirl she has all of the movies he was in

Her bluntness gets her into a lot of trouble, my gal can not understand when to shut up (its the autism ((im projecting)) -> Her special intrest is old fashion and she always dresses like she walked straight out of a time machine :3 (thats also why her name is so extremely outdated)

She also has a girlfriend I need to draw whos actually (secretly) in the Port Mafia, she's the main reason nobody's been successful in taking Shirley out 😭

blaise threatening lockhart was honestly so slay- like that was iconic of him

also, more significance with the knife that represents their friendship as just in the last two chapters they’ve both used it to protect the others!! their friendship is just so cute it fills me with joy-

also, the want to point out the fact that it kinda looks like a seems like since winter break dazai has been even more self destructive than normal, which from a character analysis perspective is interesting cause it would suggest guilt, from a character who has for the most part been basically essentially ambivalent to the morality of his actions- almost like being told that he needs to play a villian is less comfortable than the previous act he was putting on. this kinda suggests/ provides proof that the way allegory is characterizing him has that act (the one from first year) be closer to his actual personality than his ‘villainy’.

anyways, more rambling, that dream sequence was immaculate, like the imagery and description are *chefs kiss*and the fact that they bring the entire head up when i thought they were just gonna get some scales or a fang or something-

this chapter was every thing i wanted and more and im probably gonna reread it at least once more today

pleaseeee they're adorable i genuinely love their friendship mori you BETTER not touch any of then or- 🔪🔪 and its a small detail but i loved how even pansy was completely reluctant to give dazai his knife when he talked abt getting proof, and how she also too dazais side against lockhart. and i love how the significance of the knives comes full circle, first dazai stabs himself with it without a thought to protect the loyalty club, and now blaise uses it to threaten lockhart to protect dazai and the loyalty club aaaaaaaaa

hmm, I'll definitely be rereading the whole fic soon, i mean yeah he does seem a bit more reckless and like uncaring of his own safety recentlt, but he's always like that, so i think i probably missed out on that detail. although i was rereading the newest chapter and this line stuck with me- "I'm the villain. I know i am. "

but what would he feel guilt over? Since blaise and draco already know about the port mafia, is he feeling guilty about not telling the rest of the gang or abt pomfrey? i mean, if u see the canon bsdverse, dazai's actual 'personality', atleast in the mafia, would typically be seen like that of a villain, wouldnt it? Though i do feel that its easier for dazai to play the villain in a way? or not maybe my brain aint braining ill get back to this when i reread the whole thing ehehe

i love how the dream included dogs and kennels, rly showing his fear of them, and how it included the club as well- maybe he also had a fear that theyd be on opposite sides? Idk, also i LOVE how he felt safe in snapes arms sjhdidjdjdhfb snape is SO not beating the dad allegations, and i dont think he even actually wants to atp lmaooo (also the fact thag dazai dreamt of sweet things like honey after that? AAAAAAA)

What’s your fav bsd arc?

Oh, great question. I haven't touched up on BSD in a while so it's hard to give an answer with thorough reflection but I'll have to stick with the arc that got me invested in the whole thing, so: Cannibalism arc!

The stakes were so high, there's more information on the bsdverse, we learn more about triparte framework, and I loved loved how it's shown, highlighted especially in this arc, that bsd isn't a story about the good and bad. It's all morally grey.

I was at the edge of my seat, completely invested in the whole thing compared to any other arc and I wasn't dissatisfied at any point throughout it (from what I remember). Meursault was a close second but with the way it ended... I don't know. I've had conflicted thoughts over bsd lately but I'm a bit lazy to sit down and gather them up.
