The ZERO notes on a post about a popular fandom i wrote on my sideblog has me like.... are people not engaging with this bc it's a lengthy, circuitous rant, OR is no one willing to engage with criticism of the misogyny baked into one of the main story lines...? 🤔

probably both, lol. I just expected that, at the least, someone would be pissed off in the replies by now?

which is not my goal, to be clear! My goal is to discover that other viewers agree that the female character was done a grave disservice by the writers, or maybe for them to recognize for the first time why they don't really care for her plotline.

#i don't even feel like I'm much of a 'raging feminist' or whatever #but i do consistently feel like I'm alone in being willing to say 'hey these writers treat women like shit!'#bc the fans (in pretty much any fandom) will act like she's a real woman and jump to defend her and give her more complexity in fanon #which. like. i love that energy!#I'm not saying DON'T do that!#but also i think it's worth acknowledging that a lot of characters have a misogynistic premise from the beginning #by elise #i feel like this post comes off really whiny and petulant lol #IN MY DEFENSE i haven't really eaten today and also i might be pmsing #and like i don't NEED people to interact w my post #I'm just Noticing that usually w the tags it has it would have a COUPLE notes by now #but again to be fair. it IS a lengthy and circuitous rant!#other option is the whole fandom blocked my ass for being annoying 🤷🏻‍♀️#but i DO have one post that's actually going around a lot so i don't think that's it?
