tbh a point that i never see brought up in all the “people don’t reblog things anymore” conversations is the genuine adoption of the queue feature as a means to for people to not spam their follower’s dashboards/hit post limits. but as a result, now ppl often wind up with queues of tens of hundreds of posts that don’t wind up getting shared until weeks or even months after they’ve been originally posted. and then of course, the notes go up after the fact.
like sometimes i wonder, are the number of reblogs truly decreasing, or are you just expecting instant engagement/returns in a system that is built upon delayed engagement?
#angel.txt#i genuinely do feel like a lot of the perceived lack of engagement comes from things beyond just ‘oh the site’s dying’#or ‘oh too many people are used to mindless scrolling type of tiktok/insta engagement’#like. yes but also it’s not Just That.#if your queue has like 500 posts in it that aren’t gonna be shared on your blog for weeks#but then you get upset if smth you posted doesn’t hit big numbers in 24 hours#its like. bro yall are perpetuating the cycle!#when people say ‘reblog things more’ i feel like what they actually often mean is ‘give instant engagement’#but creators themselves don’t even seem to do that and its like. hhhhh#idk this is nothing i just sometimes get so annoyed by these conversations and complaints#that never seem to want to address any genuine contributions to the problem beyond other users/non creators#like truly sometimes the call is coming from inside the house#commentary on creation
