the tradwife movement is the same as it has always been - back in the kitchen, back to breeding - it just has better branding.
when i was younger, i hated pink. i was not like other girls. this is now something i'm embarrassed of - this was not me being a "girl's girl."
but it was expressing something many of us felt at the time: i literally wasn't what girlhood was supposed to be. this is a hard thing to explain, but you know when you're not performing girlhood correctly. it isn't as easy as "i liked x when girls liked y" - because there were other girls that liked x, too - but i never figured out exactly the correct way to like x, or to be interested in y.
now there is the divine feminine. this is the same rhetoric it has always been: women are biologically driven to like pink and ribbons and submitting to our husbands.
the problem is that the patriarchy found a better PR team. because yes, actually, i want every woman to have the choice to be a homemaker. i also want her taken seriously for her legitimate home-making labor. i want her to be recognized as also having a job, just unpaid. i want men to have this opportunity, too.
but it is no longer "i made this choice and I love it." instead it is a sixteen-paragraph rant about how selfish it is that my generation isn't having kids. instead it's long videos about how if you feed your children processed foods, you're going to kill them. instead it is "this is what womanhood is supposed to be. i feel bad for any other choices you're making."
the shame spiral is just prettier. it is large houses devoid of personality. it is the implication: if you don't have this, you aren't happy. the solid, everlasting assurance: women are actually supposed to be submitting. this is the default. this is the natural state of things. all other attempts inflict suffering.
but you can no longer say i'm not like other girls. you can no longer reject this image completely. you cannot find it revolting, even if you know that the underbelly is toxic and festering. sure, it is the same repackaged patriarchy. but the internet does not have shades of grey. you should support and reward other women! your disgust is actually internalized misogyny. not because you are seeing a vision of yourself the way they're trying to train you to be. not because you feel her ghost pass within an inch of your earlobe. not because your father will eventually ask you - why can't you be like her?
because they figured out how to make it beautiful: women will sell other women on this idea, and we will find the singular loophole in feminism. sure, she's shaming you in most of her videos. sure, she implies that a different life is obscene. but she just wants you to be happy! you'd be happier if you were listening!
and the whole time you're sitting there thinking: i'd actually just be happier if i had that kind of money.

I feel like I've seen a lot of content about Ororon potentially dying due to the anemo curse, so now I have this fic idea in my head where the anemo curse is a real thing, and it's next target? Ororon. Cue angsty time loop where Ororon keeps getting killed right in front of Ifa while he keeps trying to prevent it.
Disclaimer: I'm not a fic writer and I don't really keep up with character backstories/characterization outside of like fanfiction, so these ramblings may be OOC/cringy. Read at your own risk!
This is loosely based off a time loop xiaoven fic I read a while ago on ao3 (which was soo good, I highly recommend), which I think was based on the (canon?) idea that Venti knew the time god, so maybe the anemo curse is like done by the time god who was resentful about being forgotten/potentially betrayed in some manner. I think it would make sense since it appears for many characters, they have their closest friend die, before/after they receive an anemo vision. So it's kind of like this curse does not care for the boundaries of time (since it's created by the time god who could control time). Whether the past, present, or future, all those who gain an anemo vision in any time are cursed to lose the one they care most about (or someone they care about, but the most seems more tragic, even if I'm not sure if this is the case for all anemo characters). Maybe this time loop could also be the time god's work, whose anger has dimmed through the years and now wishes to break the loop before more lives are lost.
I feel like there’d be a lot of angst potential with this. Ifa's technically not a human doctor but he is a vet, so there'd probably be some guilt/issues with not being able to save patients, which is great when Ororon keeps dying in front of him while he is helpless to do anything but watch.
There could also be some humorous parts if you write from Ororon's POV where he is unaware that he keeps dying, so Ifa is just randomly showing out of nowhere, acting very hypervigilant (and probably very OOC since he appears to be a pretty chill guy in the story) and basically following him everywhere while Ororon's like peacefully taking care of his aphids and vegetables, which I'm sure is sweet in a way, but also highly concerning because dude, what about your saurian patients? Idk I think I read somewhere that Ifa would be pretty busy with going all over the place to take care of patients, so why is he spending the day following Ororon around?
Maybe there could be a part where they (Ororon and Ifa, because Ifa's not letting Ororon out of his sight if he can help it) somehow travel to Mondstadt (maybe with the Traveller's tp point ability) when trying to find the origin of the curse or whatever. And I've read some theories? about Lisa dying in three years or something (I'm not sure if that's a canon thing though), so you could have some Ifa-Ororon-Jean-Lisa interactions since they're both under curse!
^I don't know if Ororon would know about the time loop at this point, but I think it'd be kind of funny if he had no idea and just followed Ifa to Mondstadt (because Ororon literally joined forces with the First Fatui Harbinger against his own archon, travelling to halfway across Teyvat gives the same vibes)
Ifa: Bro, we need to go to Mondstadt
Ororon, not even questioning it: Ok, but let me say goodbye to my vegetables and aphids first (and write a note to granny Citlali in hopes that she doesn't kill me for this stunt)
Ororon, after getting the whole timeloop stuff out of Ifa: We should see if Granny has any divinations/prophecies about this
Ifa, just realizing that his best friend's grandma is the best shaman in the tribe: shit you're right, why did I just go through like 15 loops of you dying
(Idk actually Citlali would be able to provide any insight as a shaman, but I think this would be funny to envision)
Could have a loop where Ifa tries to end his friendship with Ororon because the curse is related to someone he cares about dying + pushing everyone away (the angst potentiall), although I'm not sure if that would prevent Ororon's death (since Heizou got into a fight with his friend who still ended up dying), but that could be an avenue to explore.
If you actually read this far, why would you torture yourself with this trash. But seriously, thanks so much! I didn't really expect anyone to read this mess of an idea, it's just been running around in my mind so much that I had to get it all out. This is also my first tumblr post (because idk where else to post this), so I apologize for anything that's out of place/weirdly formatted because I'm not really sure how to make posts on tumblr, if there's a convention to it.

So I have this idea for a d&d "one shot". By one shot I mean an actual campaign that is a timeloop that the characters are stuck in.
So basically I do a one shot with my group saying it should be over quickly.
They all die at the end of the one shot.
I tell them to just bring the same characters and then describe the same scenes.
Then all die again.
Here's where they'll eventually start to learn, because they'll have an npc with them that repeats the same lines and gets attacked by the bbeg of the one shot. Always in the exact same way. Scripted. Always getting hit or not on the exact same turns without their intervention.
Every single replay will be identical without the characters getting involved. Each time they interaction differently things will change.
I have a player that is a note taker now because he noticed all the little bits of lore I drop subtly. He'll be the first to catch it.
As the players start to learn the patterns is when it really gets fun. As the characters keep doing the same things they realize that they can anticipate not just the regular actions, but all of the randomness they encounter.
Boss rolls a nat 20 on turn 3? Except no one was in his range of attack.
Group of thieves vanish after robbing them? Except the last loop a player stayed out of it and watched where they went off to and stopped them.
Each replay the players and characters learn a bit more, they get stronger.
I figured instead of actual levels at first I'd slowly add to their character sheets per loop until they figured it out. Then I would let them level like normal till they were strong enough to beat the loop.
The twist? This was just the start of an actual campaign. They were trapped in a timeloop obviously, so was everyone else, somehow they still got to remember. Now to find out why and what caused the loop.
hey. im one of the people who does a specific and noticable thing right after you wake up so you realize youre in a timeloop. yeah im the guy who drops a bucket of paint off a ladder haha. yeah its a thankless job but i get paid per loop so like. dont learn your lesson too quick haha

Would Charlotte get along better with Homura than Kyoko? Like if both Madoka and Homura die and end up stopping at the N. Platform, and between Madoka and any post death reflections from both Homura and Mami that would make Homura at least a semi-regular fixture, plus a lack of Reibey interest, would Homura and Charlotte have less problems than Charlotte, and Kyoko do or more (remove the life disruption stresses, but add on the fact that Mami and Homura will get along a lot less than Mami and Kyoko).
The answer to that is a bit more complicated than it seems, but short answer? Assuming that the Reibey stuff never happened, I think Charlotte would get along better with Kyoko than she would with Homura.
See, the biggest reason that Charlotte and Kyoko got off on the wrong foot and stayed there for so long is that Kyoko fully disrupted Charlotte's life. Charlotte's not exactly shy and can be very personable, but she's still a very introverted individual who prefers to keep to herself with her wife on their isolated ocean platform and interacting with other people as little as possible, and then Kyoko blew in and basically took all that away, all the while acting belligerent and stubborn in exactly the right way to piss Charlotte off. They're alike in that they're both blunt and forward, but at the end of the day, Charlotte's an introvert, Kyoko's an extrovert, and their personalities clashed.
But if none of that happened and Kyoko was basically Mami's ex-protege with whom she had a lot of complicated feelings, then Charlotte would be wary of her for a while. Not that she thought Mami would cheat on her or anything, but Charlotte knows that Mami's past is wrought with regret and shame, and Kyoko is a living representation of that, so she would be worried about how Mami's mental health would be affected. And I think Kyoko would still irritate her with her overall attitude. But give Kyoko the necessary therapy and support, and I definitely see the two working past those differences and becoming genuine friends. Plus, they both like Oktavia, albeit in different ways.
See, here's the thing a lot of people seem to forget about Kyoko. Yes, when we meet her in the series she's at her absolute worst, literally quick to try to murder Sayaka because she annoyed her. But there were a lot of personal circumstances involved there, and when we see her at other parts throughout the franchise, she does come off as something of a people person. She recognizes game and shows respect where it's merited. She's perfectly cool with working with others and gets along with other people. She takes things seriously, looks out for those who need it, watches other people's backs, and is even okay with submitting to authority if the situation merits it. Stay away from some specific triggers, and she's actually a pretty pleasant person. So I totally could see her settling into things in Freehaven.
Homura is a...different case. She's a white hot mess of neurological issues kept in check by an ironclad discipline that gives her the demeanor of the Terminator. She's been traumatized by Madoka's death so many times that it's a miracle that she's held on as long as she has, and we've all seen what happens when she breaks. Plus, she's also been trapped in those timeloops for so long that plucking her out of them could trigger a meltdown all on its own.
So I don't see her adjusting well to the afterlife. Nor do I see her and Charlotte getting along. Most likely Homura would dismiss Charlotte outright, and Charlotte would try not to take it personally but still get miffed about the rudeness. I can see her taken a shine to Madoka, perhaps not to the same extent as she did Oktavia, but even so, Homura would be that friend of a friend that you just don't like but tolerate for your friend's sake. Or rather, a friend of your wife's friend who's pretty okay, but you really wish she would stop bringing her scary girlfriend around.
Also, I totally see Homura acting hostile toward Mami at the start, and that's a big no-no to Charlotte.
