Should I also mention how i intentionally put fuuta at the back as a way of representing how often he hides behind something likeee for example a screen and a cult. How cowardly of him heheh.

For Yuno and Muu, I couldn't do much for them so there isnt much meaning to their placement in the composition 😔😔

Kazuis number is placed infront of his key to represent how he protects the other prisoners in Milgram, while his name is placed behind the key as a way to show how he hides his true self from others :3333

also, noticed how the way his name is written differently from the others? as if to show how different he is from everyone? yknow yknow? heheh....

Notice how a part of amanes number (especially the '8') is hidden off by her key... as if to show how she was hiding behind her cults teaching... almost hiding the top half of the number, as if she was losing some parts of her true self.... oh amane.....

mikoto doesn't seem to look like hes doing well is he? tear marks and such a hopeless expression... its funny to me how even such depressing state, he manages to have a split expression like his second trial sprite... Its almost as if john has integrated with him... like how the zeros in his number is connected.... hmm but who knows? personally i dont think john has gone dormant, it seems more like fused with mikoto to me.

kotoko... OH KOTOKO.... HAHAH... i have A LOT to say about her character. but I can only go so far within this post so I'll keep it short. I intentionally put the number and name in front of her key to show how shes the first to take action or should i say go forward with her decisions in Milgram. Her key is also half shown as if to represent how she doesn't have the bigger picture towards each prisoners judgement.

At first, I was gonna put kazui and kotoko at the front with mikoto and amane at the back to show how kazui and kotoko came forward within milgram (whether it was to protect people or satisfy their own greed doesnt matter), while also in a way showcase how mikoto and amane hide behind something as a way of protection (mikoto with john, amane with her cults beliefs). But i scratched the idea as the number order wouldn't make sense.

this could entirely just be a result of translation and i dont know enough abt japanese to figure it out, but on the topic of milgram and the meta....

in the t1 interros it seems like when the prisoners refer to "you", they mean es. (mikoto specifically using guard-kun!)

but in t2, now that the prisoners hear our voices, especially the guilty + yuno, they directly talk to us. and they talk as if es isnt even reading these...?

my main point that ive been thinking abt for a while, that has only given me confirmation bias after kotoko's t2 interro, is that she doesnt... care to acknowledge the audience. which is interesting, because you think she'd want the most to appeal to us. but she doesnt.

honestly her t2 responses Could be read as her maybe talking to the audience but its like. guessing. she never says anything that implies es isn't reading these or talking to a "you all" like fuuta does.

in deep cover shes absolutely like. only talking to es right. im not just platonic 0010 brained right?

i used to read "make yourselves my reason" as her Single acknowledgement of the audience but now i think shes just talking to the other prisoners.

...i dont really have any conclusion to draw about these. other than my own bias towards kotoko's relationship with es clouding it in a way where im reading it as 'kotoko only cares about es' which like. Yes thats basically how i feel about her perception of es at this point... but i feel like that should be weird, right? i feel like she should care about the audience.

It feels like the easy answer is that 'she cant hear them' and only the guilty can. but yuno is a special exception, because....???? i dont know it just feels way more interesting if they All could hear the voices regardless and kotoko doesnt care... (if like. kazui or shidou or someone else inno mentioned hearing the voices too i dont remember and im too lazy to check) like she just heard the audience agree with her and is like 'Amazing. im not dwelling on this'

im sure this is gonna be cleared up or something in t3, because muu and kotoko will absolutely be hearing the voices and it will either completely debunk or prove me completely right on my headcanons about how these two specifically interact with the meta. My HOPE is that they continue to not care(in the way that. like muu is just Aware of the narrative, and kotoko just Only talks to es)...but theyre t2 guilties in this murder prison psychological torture labyrinth so thats not likely. it would be interesting though...

More Furries- I recently learned that No I didn't have to draw a furry a specific way and now I like to draw them more than I do people (I still like drawing people I just....people with animal heads are more fun to me) I don't know if they Would put a cat muzzle on her in T2, especially since her paws can reach her face and rip it off unless they Also bind those- but like, I was thinking about it.

Also a Salamander Fuuta, cause....cause why not. Cycle-hit was right when they called him a scalie. I dont know why these prisoners are turning into their fursonas- fucking- reflection of the soul or something. Persona but if awakening your persona also meant you also turned into an animal. The time it takes for furry transformation is dependent on how repressed the person is, Amane is Deeply Repressed but she's also the one going "Oh it's fine if im not normal" either Kazui or Kotoko is last, cause, *gestures*

Hi Vin, i hope im not bothering you, but before the year ends I just want to tell you that i love you /p!!! You've been a big source of inspiration for me in so many ways for the past say 2 years i think! I dont even know if words can describe how much of an impact you and your art has made on me, even the ones that dont get many notes, but please know that they make me feel mostly warm & fuzzy. Mostly! Because your angst art hits me SO HARD in the feels... Especially the ones with Kazui and Haruka (Your oc!).... Seriously your art is wonderful, i keep revisiting them just to stare at the textures and the way you stylize the characters the colors the mood and- ehdvjwnwj so sorry for rambling!!!

I open this message for several days every day, reading it in its entirety from beginning to end, and then I just sit in front of the screen for a long time and stare at it, not knowing what to say to it, and then I close it, only to open it and read it again the next day.

Every message like this makes me happy, and I'm genuinely happy to read it and know that people appreciate me and what I do, even if I not and just don't understand the reasons for it myself. I always want to write an extensive text to a message like this, to let people know that their words and time were not wasted and really reached me, that I received them and really appreciate what they are doing for me. But my head is always empty, there's not even a tumbleweed in it, just a black hole. But I want to tell you and the others that I come back from time to time to all these messages that people write to me in the askbox. Both the ones I answered and the ones that continue to be in the askbox for a year or two, because at that time I just wanted to leave them there to reread.

I wish I could stop being forever sad and whiny, but i guess I'm with this forever. Well, at least it gives me the opportunity to write and draw angst based on my own feelings. Not bad, huh.

from prevs other rb on the first 0507 piece i posted months ago hii moot :) this is a mad unconventional way to respond im sorry. i cant think of any other way to ans this (i dont even know if its a legitimate question….. im soso glad u took the time to point out details in my art tho thank u so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! figured that i owe an explanation)

sadly i didnt think that hard while drawing that specific piece :( i used their t1 designs bc it felt the most logical to me, in the sense that it makes them the most recognizable that way. that includes kazuis ring being present

i WILL however take this opportunity to say that i. thought slightly more in the process of making the piece above lol

their rings are gold on purpose!!! i used the theory of the man in cats marriage scene (possibly bartender)’s ring being gold bc of kazuis own admiration for him, and how that admiration cld also apply to how kzi sees said mans marriage to be more genuine than his own (hence kzis ring in canon only being silver, like it wont ever reach that level of legitimacy)

so this is me being shippy!!!!!! making 0507s rings gold just to say that this is an honest bond. that and the neckties are specifically held by their ringclad hands like leashes lol, think of it like theyre mutually and maritally bound to each other by the throat

#i dont know if its something other people figured out cuz im insane and rewatch half regularly but#yeah i love that “audience kazui” is the monochrome one!! draws attention away from him and to the stahe for one#(like...his true self is hidden and the “play” is in focus kind of. idk im spitballin)#also maybs fun to note: when both he and hinako are offstage (in the audienve) theyre both the same type of desaturated kinda#hard to tell cuz hinako wears like. a really dark grey shirt but skintone wise it looks more desaturated than start of the mv#also i loove the lighting effects in half and only now have i realised its cuz it mimics how spotlights bounce off a person and create patc#es of lighr on a person. yippeee i love theatre i love lighting#and the thing of his house (his life) being a set...his life is a neverending play and allat#even right before the...bridge i think? when audience kazui stands up#its harder to see him cuz he sort of blends in w the darkness of the theatre...fun to note esp with the reading ive seen that#audience kazui is skrt of his “real self” hence why his life is a play. cuz thats not really him but his true self is like desaturated and#hidden in the audience seats. this is probably incomprehensive im gonna go now lmaoo sorry for tag wall op 🙏 tags by @stuffedsand No its alright! You're tags are really good, it draws less attention away from Kazui (Except for, again his eyes) Also that's what the lighting was! I was trying to figure out what it was since it Felt Familiar. That's a really good catch.

Something I find personally interesting with Half is that the Kazui that's in black and white is not the stage Kazui but Audience Kazui.

It's a bit tinted overall but generally speaking it's more greyscale/duller than how this outfit actually looks + his skintone is less saturated here.

The only thing that isn't de-saturated are his eyes, which are this brilliant technicolor blue. The contrast in saturation naturally draws your attention to them, hey have I told you how great Milgram's art direction is-

I'm pretty sure Half is....a performance inside a film if that makes sense. With Audience Kazui being it's own performance as Performance Kazui is Performing. Mostly cause Performance Kazui doesn't draw on Television but on Plays.

So it just makes sense to me if this is a show inside a show situation. Also matches well with how in Cat, Kazui is still performing and the only time he isn't really is at the start and in the middle with the smoke break because of the lack of frames. But the texture over it is still there and I'm a Good percent sure that Milgram MVs have texture when things that character's know are unreliable/aren't aligned with reality, so y'know.

(Also I just noticed now that the rest of the background is painted and only some of the furniture is real which is a neat detail.)
