Astarion’s relationship with you was strange from the very beginning.

During the tiefling party, he decided to strike. Offer himself to you and lead you down a path for his own safety. He was convinced you’d give yourself to him, he saw how you looked at him. Your eyes said more than any other part of you could.

So, why the bloody hell did you reject him? He managed to conceal his frustration and go on with his night. Perhaps you wanted a piece of Lae’zel, or Gale—it didn’t matter. There was still hope you’d come back.

And come back you did. After the party, you came to his tent with sweet bread. For yourself, of course. You promised not to give him any after he expressed distaste.

Thus, began his relationship with you. Rather than sleep with him, or another member of your camp, you wanted to sit and…spend time together. Talk once the rest were fast asleep, laugh about the little dents throughout your journey together.

He never experienced anything like it. People would come to him, take and take and take. Never was he given something so small, yet so meaningful.

Despite being a vampire, he experienced many firsts with you.

Eventually he offered himself again, teasing that he’d broken your barriers by now. Even then, you said no. And he didn’t understand.

“Well…well, why not?” He felt exasperated.

You stared at him, a little concerned with his response. Maybe you should’ve came clean earlier, but it wasn’t an easy topic.

“I’m not interested,” you stated, processing how to explain without feeling embarrassed. “I’m interested in you, Astarion. I want you, but not in that way. I’ve never wanted anyone in that way.”

For a moment you believed he’d call it quits. It was casual but it’d still hurt. You hadn’t known each other long, but you cared for him.

He didn’t leave. Instead, you only grew closer.

After your interaction with Araj Oblodra, more than a confession happened that night. Astarion took you to the outskirts of camp and opened himself completely. You had already done so, shouldn’t he do the same? But it wasn’t to be even. He found himself longing to tell you the truth, to free himself from the deceit. To express what you made bubble up inside of him.

When you hugged him, it was difficult to let go.

Later in the night you returned to camp and to his tent. As the moon shone, you held each other throughout. It became your new normal, sticking by his side and his by yours.

It was a comfort, existing with you. No pressure of sex, but still a need to keep you happy. And you were happy, either from a deep kiss or a quick peck.

Through some walks, when you were behind the rest, you’d hold hands. You’d share what sweets you found in hopes of finding a taste he’d enjoy. He’d gift you pieces of jewelry he found on bodies and polish them for hours.

Those simple pleasures only strengthened after Cazador’s defeat. When Astarion took you to his grave, he crushed the Szarr ring beneath his boot and spent the rest of the night holding you. As he looked to the stars, your eyes stayed on him.

“Do you wish it was different?” You ask quietly, hand combing through his hair. It wasn’t the question you wanted to ask, but you didn’t have the courage to face the truth.

“No,” he looks to you. His crimson eyes seemed lighter. “This is perfect.”

You smile at his response. He was perfect, flaws and all.

to put it simply, their dynamic is: gabbro fell first, but elbaite fell harder. gabbro's liked elbaite for a few years now, actually. they just haven't really thought about it.

so. gabbro is just along for the ride. whatever comes with their discoveries is just another blob of knowledge on their pile to them.

after the loops, when they're the closest to ellie they've ever been, they realize they're waaaay out of their area of expertise. they're not a very romantic person. they've never really tried to flirt (on purpose), nor have they really been flirted with all that much. (one could even say.... they got that L rizz.... *dies*) honestly they don't really mind it. they could live without romance, their facade is thick enough that they can act normal around someone the like (or love). their love is a quiet one, quiet enough they haven't really noticed it until recently.

like, ellie will be holding them in the hammock. and they'll feel all happy smiley and fluttery and warm. and they're thinking, "ah, so that's why i feel like this. good to know." and then they go about their day.

elbaite! oh boy, ellie. they're so preoccupied with trying to solve the mystery that they only realize their feelings after gabbro forces them to take a break loop and they watch gabbro play the flute. they're watching their lips. ...their lips... i wonder if they're a good kisser...

and then it's, wait, what? why would i think that? ew! but, oh. oh no. i'm not grossed out, not at all. i like the idea of kissing them, oh, oh stars, uhhm. ...oh. well shit.

and then they do absolutely nothing about those feelings because they're trying their hardest to put together the pieces of this insane puzzle that spans their entire solar system. they don'y have time to figure out the puzzle that is their feelings, thank you very much.

they don't do much about their feelings other than intense mutual pining and the occasional flirty joke that turns them both purple. then they start to become the "act like they're madly in love but theyre not even dating" trope. they care about each other, that's all that really matters at the time.

until, of course, they find solanum. this is where the au idea begins to take shape. basically due to funky eye of the universe business solanum can remember all the times ellie and gabby have visited her, and they realize there's a way to free her. so they do, and the three become the time buddies trio. ellie and gabby start to learn nomaian (they already knew some before just because ellie taught themself and then taught gabbro) and solanum starts to realize "oh wait, the way they're acting doesnt seem to be normal for hearthians! i must get to the bottom of this."

so then solanum goes sneaky mode and begins asking the two (separately, because she wants them to figure it out on their own... solanum gets the best wingwoman ever award lol) about why they're Like That around each other. Like That, meaning: flirting, cuddling, bonking heads, smiling like little kids at each other,

yknow what just. here's an example of an average interaction between the three. came up witht his on the spot but it's perfectly accurate to

"hey," elbaite says. they're teetering over the edge of a hole in brittle hollow's wide-open crust, peering down with an edge of mischief to their words. "wanna see who can get to white hole station the fastest?"

gabbro chuckles. "you know i'll beat you, buddy. you just want me to catch you when you inevitably come hurtling towards the gravity panels."

"aha yea, you got me. those big, strong arms are just irresistible, y'know." elbaite gently taps their helmet against gabbro's, and without warning jumps off of the crust of the hollow and into its belly.

gabbro follows, shouting something inaudible as they come out of signal range. solanum flicks her radio to long-range, takes a seat at the edge of the crust, and listens. not a sound slips from her lips. she quite enjoys eavesdropping on these two.

elbaite is laughing. "gabbs, seriously, there's a- there's a huge chunk of the crust behind you, we gotta move, lemme go-"

"nah, not until you let me admire your voluptuous arm muscles--" a loud thunk noise comes through the radio, "--OW! hey!"

"eugh. if you ever say voluptuous again i'm leaving you stranded on your island."

"but it's, like, objectively true. you're pretty strong." gabbro's voice seems to be losing its punch. "or, just strong. or just pretty. ah, both of those things together, and both separate. any of those combinations work out pretty okay. y'know. words. ...anyway."

solanum just recently became familiar with this uniquely hearthian word. there's no perfectly accurate nomaian counterpart. the word is positive, referring to anything nice to look at. it is the more casual version of beautiful, which does have a direct translation.

pretty. gabbro uses it quite often when referring to elbaite.

"...i win." a soft thump, solanum assumes from elbaite reaching the station.

"cool, cool." silence, for a moment. "catch me?"

"wh- no, i- HOUGH--"

solanum stares into the belly of the hollow. she is entirely unequipped to speak on the social behaviors of hearthians, but she knows for a fact that no pair of creatures can speak in this manner and not be utterly infatuated. (with her having studied and practiced hearthian language enough to pick up on background conversation, she's become keenly aware of how intensely romantic her companion's' interactions are. it amuses her to no end.)

more rambling time RAHHH (repost cause i decided i wanna make this its own post instead of a reblog)

so,,,,, the info from my previous post,,,,,, it only gives me more thought for this au i have in my head where the spectre gets destroyed in some way and everyone is finally free from this eternal loop. they try to get back to a normal life, which is obviously hard or near impossible for some

azuretime in this au,, with azure no longer feeling all of that hatred that the spectre forced upon him, it doesn't take too long for them to forgive two time. it honestly saddens him to see that the person they once loved so much is like a broken shell of their former self now (and even then, i imagine two time pre-ritual was rather mentally unwell as well. which is why they fell victim to the cult's manipulation and threw away the only person that was there for them.)

i dont think two time would ever truly forgive themself for what they did though :( they still feel as if everything that happened is their fault, no matter how much reassurance & comfort they get from azure, but they do feel a little better

azure isn't entirely free of worry either, they fear that they'll once again become the violent and hateful individual that they didn't want to be. even if the thing that was causing him to be that way is now entirely eradicated, his mind constantly reminds him of the harm he caused against his will.

i imagine them living in some kind of secluded cabin/small house in the woods. after everything, they're trying to heal in a peaceful place among nature with not a single soul disrupting them. (and also, regular people could probably be a bit frightened by azure's monster form)

azure gets back into botany & gardening, their home and its surroundings are decorated with lots of flowers because of this. two time likes to observe him work & maybe even help him a bit :D they try their best to learn from him (god its so cute to me to think of this big monster guy just gently and carefully tending to plants bless him)

two time could maybe adopt their old name, breeze, again. <3 (a headcanon of mine that i wrote about in a different post)

they also abandoned their dagger, burying it in the nightshade field where azure's grave lied. it hurt too much to even look at it anymore. it reminds them of all the horrible things they've done.

even if they both know things will never be the same as they used to be, they're so glad they could go back to loving eachother. they've promised that they won't let anything tear them apart ever again.💖

a bit unrelated but i also like thinking about how nonhuman features would act on characters so!!

azure's tentacles prove to be quite useful for a lot of day-to-day things, they allow him to hold more tools & stuff, grab objects more conveniently, reach higher places, etc.

also. hugs perhaps.,.. teehee,, he could wrap them around two time like some sort of weird blanket LMFAO i think it could be cute nd comfy ^_^ i hc that theyre both touch starved as fuck after allat so. lots of hugs. they need it .ilove when characters hug and cuddle Most peak shit ever ong

two time's wings and tail are able to move, however they're really stiff and doing so is a bit painful. though with some kind of regularly done exercises, they could slowly but surely become easier to move. not like two time cares about the pain anyways cause i think they're rather desensitised to physical pain,, which upsets azure cause he doesnt want them hurting themself </3

also they pretty obviously can't fly with their wings sadly,,, the closest thing they'd get to that is azure lifting them up in the air with a tentacle while they pretend they're a bird 😭 HELP

also,,., azure's hat,,,, i'm thinking that after the spectre Fucking Dies, the hat is no longer connected to it so it's not a vessel for its hatred and control anymore. it's just something that azure uses to verbally communicate. i'm not sure if it's a separate entity/consciousness though

OR it could also simply disappear or be thrown away after the spectre's death, in which case azure would be unable to speak. they could still communicate in other ways such as writing or simply body language

Currently in the works of revamping my old au (again) called UnderWild.

Here are some redesign concept designs (and lore drops in general) on how the monsters, humans and underground relatively look.

A brief explanation, this au takes place in a world where, the monsters are inflicted by a curse known as the “blood moon curse”. This curse was made as a “gotcha” tactic by the ancient sorcerers, who cared very little of the consequences it would have on monster society.

What does this curse do? It drains monsters of their magic.

Because magic, much like our souls, is the very essence that makes a monsters physical form, as well as their own personal expression- draining monsters of magic corrupts their minds and bodies to an almost zombie like form. Once bathed directly under the light of the red moon, monsters are only able to HUNGER for more magic to refill their gauge (aka, the amount of magic a monster needs to stay healthy.)

This means that, there are 3 ways to deal with cursed monster:

1.) refill their magic gauge by supplying them with your own magic via feeding them with your own attacks (health or damage, doesn’t matter.) this will essentially “heal them” from the curse as long as the supply is constant (just wait until the sun rises/the blood moon goes away and then your fully “cured”).

2.) be eaten by a cursed monster. Dust, magic attacks, monsters, human souls, all contain SOME form of magic. If it has magic, the cursed monster will be derived to consume its essence and refill their own gauge. Depending on how long they’ve been affected by the curse, or how much magic they need to refill, will justify the amount of magic they need to consume.

3.) kill the cursed monster. Because the blood moon affects all monsters, conserving magical resources is important to staying alive. In this world, it’s consume or be consumed. Which means you have to kill your cursed brother, because if you don’t you’ll end up just like him.

due to the way drayton spells sex (scex) i imagine he didnt get a great education. i think he was either homeschooled or was pulled out of school early on in his life.

hes the eldest and i think he was heavily affected by his family's money issues after the slaughterhouse was shut down. maybe he was pulled out of school afterward? i just know he probably didnt get past middle school.

even if he did, i dont think he would survive in highschool. let alone stay in it for long. since his family needed help with their whole cannibalism act plus grandpa and grandma needed someone to care for them, he wouldve dropped out and stayed to help out.

once they got older and the twins were born, drayton tried his best to help his family make a little bit more money for his brothers to go to school. he genuinely cares about them, he just doesnt admit it nor does he know how to show it

most of the english he's learned is from his grandmother teaching him and his work in the gas station! she also used the gas station to teach him math :)

CHOPTOP

hes either a choir kid or a theater kid. probably a theater kid. as a theater kid i can confirm i in fact act like choptop

during highschool he was in his emo/goth/all american massacre phase. when he was a freshman he would help out just a little with his family's money issues - giving kids weed in trade for money.

him and nubbins were troublemakers - always having to be seperated. the only problem is how bad their separation anxiety gets. the twins never stay apart for long. both of them will kick and scream if theyre seperated and highschool wasnt any different.

out of all the brothers, i think choptop is the smartest. his experience in the military really helped him with his education and he was able to learn so much. i think he had a pin pal at some point and that definitely helped him with his writing!!

he wasnt able to fully complete highschool because of the draft but he was at least about to get to 11th grade :)

NUBBINS

nubbins was definitely a struggler in school. he didnt really understand what was being taught no matter how he was taught. teachers have tried to tutor him and he just never understood it

choptop helped him a lot with getting him to understand. he would sit with nubbins at the dining room table and help him through their math homework, help him with english essays, anything he needs. he would explain it in a way nubbins could understand easier!

he was very dependent on choptop throughout highschool. they were always seen together

i dont know how to explain it but nubbins really likes comic books. theyre a lot easier for him to read, especially with the pictures

grandpa also read him a lot of books when he was younger! according to nubbins, he's grandpa's favorite

BUBBA

there really isnt much to say about bubba? his parents didnt really see a use of sending him to school

he was mostly homeschooled by the twins..who would always try to get him to say words

at the very least he knows how to write his name and he can understand what his siblings ask of him. he tries! really he goes off of tone of voice for how he reacts

I like that a lot of the tragedy about new fnaf is about how everyone lived, in contrast to the tragedy of old fnaf where everyone died

like gregory vanessa cassie the animatronics everyone had their lives ripped away from them because of the same source, but they didnt end after that.

the animatronics 'lived', but it was in an abandoned falling apart building while they're broken themselves and slowly losing their sanity. gregory survived the mimic and ggy and the streets but he'll never get back those years of childhood he lost or his parents or friends or old life and he has to live with that and the trauma from everything forever

vanessa lost her life and her free will right as she would have been free from her dad for good and was still put down and hated even as her alter ego. she was forced to leave her little support systems and drag other people into the same boat as her and kill people and after she gets freed abruptly she just has to. get back on her feet. and get a job and take care of Gregory and Freddy and somehow keep living a life as normal as anyone else but things are so different and she doesnt get a chance to sit and process everything

cassie doesnt die in the elevator crash and instead goes on to be trapped underground with something getting in her head. she gets taken over all alone by herself thinking that vanny was a friend and getting 'betrayed' again. once again someone's life is ripped away from them as they're forced to serve this virus, and its made a hundred times worse because no matter what it happened to cassie because Gregory wasnt fast enough. and theres so much tragedy in Gregory failing to stop what happened to him from happening to someone else let alone his best friend

and the tragedy that none of them will ever be free despite how they live on unless they kill the mimic and vanny for good, but theyve always just been too scared to do it. "the family missed the greatest opportunity of their lives" "the woman would kill the witch in the morning" they didnt kill them both when they could have and now other people are getting hurt along with themselves having to deal with it again after thinking they were okay.

and theres also tragedy in the glamrocks and how they lived in the pizzaplex. no matter how you view their sentience theyll always be seen as characters and machines and not real people despite how theyre literally alive and living. and alongside that in canon they push the idea of the animatronics not wanting to fit themselves into the character box (freddy) or not feeling like they deserve to be who they're supposed to (roxy) or not even trying to fit the bill because they're so overtaken with anger at it all (monty) or their programming making them crazy and obsessed with their characters gimmick so they're always trapped no matter what (chica). and how fronnie loved eachother but not only would the brand not have allowed it but bonnie gets decommissioned and Fazbear entertainment doesn't see it as worth it to keep him in the character roster so they just. dont. and Freddy has to deal with how unfair that is.

both phil and techno have accepted wilbur into their family at this point. from the start phil and techno both knew that eret was probably not going to let the pythia go, it was just a matter of the two of them figuring out if that's what wilbur wanted or not. because even though they both had figured out that being the pythia was destroying wilbur, neither of them were going to take that choice away from him. if he made the decision to go back to his role with eret in charge, neither one of them were going to stop him.

but then wilbur confesses that he doesn't want to be the pythia anymore, and all bets are off. both of them started brainstorming escape ideas for wilbur before the palace invasion even happened because even though they weren't certain, they both had a gut feeling eret was going to pull this.

I think techno was the one who pointed out to phil that tommy was definitely going to go with wilbur if he left. and while phil was reluctant, he knows his kid and he knew there was no way he could stop him. and he also knew there was no way wilbur would go without him.

im back home from like visiting my family (have been for a day) and im going insane already.. im maybe getting car insurance tomorrow so ill actually be allowed to drive for realsies soon. but im losing my minddd.

i cleaned the inside of my car (awesome!) but my parents invited a bunch of people to the house and there is no food i can eat in the house that i dont have to cook from scratch (only seafood).. i havent eaten since 10am and its 6pm </3

i could like order food delivery online but i dont want to spend my money on food when i need to get shit for my rabbit and car. plus my mom is making me give her money to "help pay the bills" and "make me more responsible" even though (compared to my brother) i am. she cant even say it's actually because of that, because she rarely actually gives me anything without expecting me to pay her back.

i had to beg to get things i wanted when i was younger but my brother (same age) gets them without having to convince her. acting like im so irresponsible when he isn't the one who had to fight to be taken even a little bit seriously, when even now i know that what i feel or think doesnt matter to them. im just supposed to be someone they talk about to their friends, either to say theyre such good parents to have raised me or to complain about my issues i cant control.

neural pruning is when neurons die, but like, intentionally.

no, i do not mean intentionally as in "i intentionally killed my brain cells by consuming substances such as alcohol." i mean it in a brain development context- when ur a little baby child, you have a shitton of neurons. you still have a shitton of neurons btw but you had a Bigger shitton when you were a baby (technically speaking you had the Biggest shitton before you were born due to prenatal brain development and apoptosis but whatever it doesnt matter)

so. lots of baby neurons doing their baby neuron thing. except this costs a lot of energy! so then you hit puberty and your brain's like "okay this is fucking untenable like look at how much energy we're wasting here" and cuts certain connections by getting rid of some neurons that weren't really getting used but WERE using energy. so then the remaining neurons shuffle around to increase efficiency in communication bc theyre closer together now

so. you finish puberty and you look back to when you were a child and youre like "man i was dumb." but you werent dumb. you had neural connections you didnt use then (and dont use now) that made things slower and less efficient in terms of the way you think now

They're still in Tim's apartment, and if anything happens, he can claim self-defense, legally speaking- of course, that's assuming that she'll try anything. She won't even breathe wrong right now, not with how tense this all is, not with how scared Tim clearly is, no matter how well he hides it. She knows him better than almost anyone, she can tell when he's afraid.

She loved him, once, in a way that she doesn't think most people would call love, in that classical fairytale way. Still does, sort of. She trusts him, less than she did before, but she still cares about him. He wanted her in that way, he once liked her in that way, and Sasha had tried to let him down easy instead of telling him she'd never reciprocate, but it turns out she failed in that too. She thinks that if she ever felt what everyone else calls "love," the real storybook romance stuff, she would feel it for Tim; but she doesn't, and she hasn't, and she doesn't think she ever will.

She thinks that might be part of the reason why she doesn't feel betrayed the moment he puts the knife against her wrist. It's lighter this time, there's less pressure on it, but the threat to her life is still very much present.

"I don't know what your game is. I don't know what the hell you think you're trying to pull, but if I find out you're exactly what I thought you were? I'll make your death as long and painful as I possibly can." Tim stares her dead in the eye, and says every single word with cold intent. There's nothing warm left in his voice, nothing of the man in the pub a few hours ago, only a man who is completely and totally willing to get blood on his hands.

Again, she nearly adds to that, but the first time doesn't count. It was in the future, after all, and Tim hasn't even met his murder victim yet. It's not right to hold it against him now, no matter how much she reflexively brings it up in the back of her mind.

Besides, he's justified- more so than he was the last time, anyway. He's justified in his fear and suspicion, all he knows about any of the real kinds of monsters is that there are things that pretend to be people but just a little off, and all of a sudden she shows up in the Archives and she's got different colored eyes? She's surprised he hasn't outright killed her yet. He's probably more impulsive with people he doesn't know as well.

"I'm not. I'm still- I'm still me, I promise. I promise." Her voice is shakier than she wants it to be, too quiet for her liking, but she doesn't look away from Tim's gaze, just holds the same stare as he is. She doesn't say that she's still human; in a technical sense, she's closer to human than a mannequin, which is what he's looking for, but she doesn't think she can call herself fully human anymore. She's done things that no human should do, a hundred thousand times over, for better or for worse, and now she can't rightfully consider herself one of them. A reflection of a refraction, maybe. A copy of a copy of herself as she should have been.

"Prove it." Tim doesn't hesitate to dismiss her word. Why shouldn't he? Why should he trust promises that are, as far as he knows, empty? His voice is quieter, but no less harsh than it was a moment ago. She doesn't know why it hurts more than the knife he's still holding to her wrist- maybe because the knife isn't cutting her, barely even touching her, and his grip on her hand is just firm, not overly tight.

The nerves around the cut on her throat send pain signals to her brain. She ignores them. The stinging isn't anything compared to the things that aren't scars anymore.

How can she prove it, though? How can she prove that she's still herself, beyond what she's already said? There's nothing she can think of as an argument. There's no concrete, golden proof that she can pull out, nothing that something else couldn't guess if it took her over. All there is is to prove that she's from the future, and that's easy and impossible at the same time. What would she tell him? Everything?

If only. No, she's alluded to future events enough that he knows what her story is. He knows she's going to claim she's from the future, and it's up to her to sell him on the truth.

"I'm from about three years in the future. Things... things have changed. A lot. My eyes are the least of it, if only you'd seen all the scars we both picked up- but that's beside the point, isn't it?" She waits for half a moment, waiting for an answer that she knows won't come, and then continues. "There's a Statement in one of the boxes near Jon's desk. It's by a man called Carlos Vittery, he was haunted by some sort of ghost spider. He's dead, so you can break and enter as you please, and in his old basement is where you'll find Jane Prentiss. You know who she is by now, right?" She shifts her tone easily to business. if you want to read it: its about kevin and eddys future relationship as a couple and also talks abt my fankid for them

im rly excited to draw my fankid for adult kevin n eddy bc im very obsessed w everyone sticking together as a big squad of friends post bps and just being each others support as they mature. and even when everyone grows up into adults theyre all a tight knit gang

and eddy and kevin move into eddy’s parents house bc they buy a house in hawaii or somewhere tropical and eddys been working at his dad’s used car lot since college bc he didnt wanna go back to school, and his dad basically retires and hands him the keys

(theres something to be said about them going through kevins attic to move all of his things out of his parents house too and kevin being all nostalgic and eddys griping about wanting to get it done already bc obligatory has a bad back and complains as if he is 50 years old or some shit but is secretly mostly embarrassed bc kevins been doing shit like pulling out their middle school grad book and saying eddy looked cute in the class picture)

and the two of them live right next door to kevins parents and eddy works full time at the lot and kevin doesnt have a stable job mostly stays at home and does the housework by choice bc he just cant find smth hes passionate for and the house is mostly paid off when they transfer it so they just get rly lucky like that. kevin doesnt mind doing the cleaning or anything either and they thoroughly discuss it, not like eddy doesnt help. but eddys hours are so sporadic since he owns the lot now and sometimes hes gone dawn to dusk. kevin likes the freedom and bakes a lot and honestly kinda has a fondness getting to take care of him bc its like a guilty pleasure (DO NOT AT ME PLEASE AAAH ITS SELF INDULGENT) but kevin DOES coach little league in his free time bc he gets antsy. he also just loves baking and stress bakes often so its not uncommon for eddy to come home early and theres fuking cooling racks on every surface and a hundred things on the go and kevins like “oh say less hey babe : ) you’re here early” and eddys like “jesus christ?”

kevin gets obligatory baby fever (dont at me) bc the moms bring babies to little league games sometimes and he just loves kids, its why he does little league aside from the sports aspect. probably brings the idea of them having a baby up over dinner and eddy chokes on a beer because the concept of kids is something hes also realized he heavily desires but is PETRIFIED of doing. he feels like he’d be a shit dad and desperately wants to be better than (God bless their souls) his parents made him feel.

he really doesnt want his kid to feel like they have something to be better than and constantly be told theyre “better than a dead beat” (ie his own brother) and even then in his like early 30s after his therapy has been consistent he STILL slips into anger and bad habits at the best of times no matter how he controls it. he is so scared he’ll hurt a kid and he doesnt want to allow himself to get attached. he’s done things thath ave hurt their friends or even kevin out of impulse and even conceptually doing that to his child, not even someone on his equal level makes him feel sick

but kevin just gets him so well. like he knows how his brain works down to every tick and he tells him exactly what he needs to hear while rubbing his shoulders. like tells him he’ll be there for him and he needs to just fucking trust himself for once and stop holding onto the little boy he was when he was a kid like that person whos still spiteful and lashes out at every opportunity is still him because he’s grown past it. gives him confidence and its so soft bc he can make him feel so proud of his growth so easy eddy literally just needs the most miniscule of validation and its AH

but they adopt this baby girl named nicole (nicky) and she is. my god shes the embodiment of both of them combined so shes a fucking nightmare. shes barely 8 and kevin finds her into the cookie jar on a sunday and wigs out like “what are you doing!! how did you open this!!” bc he fucking sealed it like his mom would have to do for him. and shes like “i pickeded it :p” and eddy fucking dry heave cackles leaning on the wall bc YEAH THATS MY GIRL
