JJK is going to look different again since seeing Yuuji, Sukuna and Kenjaku (Gojo too ig) in this light so strongly [spoilers if you're anime only ig, no chapter leak spoilers tho]
Sukuna hates Yuuji (and is uncomfortable around Kenjaku) bc his body is a cage. Kenjaku designed Yuuji that way. I wonder if he spent generations experimenting (his grandpa telling Jin that he'd die, around whoever his dead wife was and the way Yuuji was born w Sukuna's finger in him - but it was sealed, so Sukuna didn't possess Yuuji or have awareness of this until he hate more, unsealed fingies).
Sukuna and Yuuji were both robbed of their autonomy by Kenjaku, in almost the same way. This gives them something very unique and personal to relate to each other with, but they don't try to find common ground. The closest thing is Yuuji saying "I know you don't want to die, too" but he never asks Sukuna for his motives. Everyone seems to assume that it's about power and killing everyone without reason. The only times when Yuuji interacts with Sukuna are to get something from him. I think that Yuuji trying to bribe him into healing Junpei felt awful - imagine being trapped in a kid's body, who has total control, and then he tries to manipulate you. Sukuna hates being touched so being thrust into this state must have been hell.
Uraume seems like the only one who respects Sukuna's boundaries.
Yuuji matches everyone's energy, and usually comes around to understand them. Megumi's reason for saving people, Nobara's reason for becoming a sorcerer etc, Junpei's reaction to his mother's death.
But he's never tried to understand Sukuna - at first, he told Gojo that he kept hearing Sukuna's voice, that he was annoying. Which means that Sukuna was trying to initiate conversation. Yuuji just ignores Sukuna, never giving him a consideration of humanity. The only way of connection Sukuna is ever granted seems to be through violence.
In the first hour of knowing about, seeing cursed spirits, Yuuji was told that Sukuna is a curse, a monster. Gojo said that Sukuna was once a real person. But Yuuji never tried to connect with any humanity that might there.
I think it has to hurt on some subconscious level, at least, that Yuuji gives anyone else some compassion, some empathy, but doesn't bother to have a conversation with someone who is forced into sharing his body, but not able to control it.
I believe that Sukuna went through the process of mummification while still alive because it was a way to prevent Kenjaku from using his body, (it might have also been a way for him to see more about consciousness, without any peers in his era. It might have been convenient since there was a famine at some point - he mentioned that his mother might have been starving and that's why he ate his twin in the womb. Idk) to reclaim it as his own.
I'm starting to wonder if Sukuna's motive for everything is to regain some autonomy, to have a body of his own again. And maybe he had to become a monster to do that, by transferring into Megumi.
And Sukuna doesn't seem to consider himself human, either, but did in the past. He's only considered human by others when it comes to calling him a cannibal. Despite that there were likely circumstances leading to this - a famine, a sign of respect to the sorcerers who challenged him to the death.
But he's so isolated from the world, from being called a child that should have never been born, to not fitting into clothes etc. bc the world wasn't built for him, and the loneliness that comes from being aro/ace, from being an object of fear or a deity to use in rituals that might prevent natural disasters.
Sukuna has no peers until it comes to Gojo, but they communicate in different styles, and remain isolated by misunderstanding.
A sukugo parallel I think deserves attention - they both had to become the monster. Thrust into this position by birth (held responsible for the shift of the world), and by the reactions of the people and powers around them.
The difference is that Gojo became the monster by letting someone else take over his body.
Sukuna became the monster by intentionally taking someone else's.
Sukuna never attacks without reason, I was rly mad at him for Mimiko and Nanako but I think he had a trauma response and felt gross like they were trying to manipulate him the way Kenjaku had.
But when he kills, it's fast and merciful. It's an instant death.
The exception to this would be during his fight w Mahoraga (and maybe Jogo I forget rn) but they were caught in it by chance, by accident. Sukuna limited his range to spare Megumi, but he wasn't in a position to be aware of every person's location and keep them out of the crossfire. He wasn't intentionally hurting them, he wasn't finding joy in their suffering, he wasn't standing around to watch.
It's my opinion that when Sukuna first appeared and said it'll be a massacre, he was hinting at the merger. I can't think of a single time when he went after anyone who did not approach him first.
To make things even worse:
We can look at Sukuna and Kenjaku's relationships with Mahito.
Kenjaku gets along with Mahito - though he is just using him for his CT and to manipulate things in his own game. He still called him over when Geto's body fought back. "hey, Mahito, look at this," like he wanted to share a joke w a friend, and listen to his interpretation of the phenomenon. It was so friendly, that interaction always weirds me out.
Sukuna does not like to be touched. He seemed to get along with Mahito at first, when Yuuji called him out - but generally he prefers to be away from that in his innate domain. I think that Sukuna was creeped out by Mahito, once he became aware of the situation - actually, I think the only one who wasn't disturbed by Mahito was Kenjaku.
Kenjaku and Mahito constantly cross boundaries, manipulating bodies and souls without their consent, and it is fun for them. I'm not sure whether Kenjaku enjoys to watch people suffer, but he loves games and seems to see everything as a part of one, and doesn't hesitate to hurt anyone - unless it interferes with his plans.
Sukuna doesn't hurt anyone unprovoked, but Kenjaku and Mahito don't save anyone without reason.

JJK chapter 246 thoughts below
Because the official chapter’s translations last week were disappointing in a couple of ways, I read the fan translation. Keeping all my thoughts here until the official one drops!
I loved this chapter a lot! :’)
MEGUMI.
I have been SO confident that yuuji is trying to save megumi since he was taken over that I am unbelievably satisfied, especially after seeing way too many posts that megumi is 100% dead or has no chance. I’ve been slightly bitter at seeing so many theories about Gojo coming back that don’t make sense when it would be a crime if he came back but not Megumi (or Nobara). The only question is whether or not Yuuji will actually be able to save Megumi or if either will die in the process—for my own sake, I’m believing in the power of friendship. Also, I wish there were date/time stamps for the flashbacks, since it’s hard to remember when in the time skip it is.
And LOVE that Yuuji was the one that came up with that plan. Nothing will ever be easy and there’s no way this plan can go right without more death, but that little sliver of hope is fantastic. I can always rely on Yuuji being the “humanity” of the team. Thinking back to when Hana and him off-handedly wondered if Gojo forgot about Megumi during the fight. It’s nice having two people who are invested in saving Megumi when the situation is dire.
Did Choso getting punched x2 straight through the chest and stomach worry me? Yes, but he’s not dead and Yuuji didn’t look devastated, so I’m taking this as a positive that he’s out of the fight for now. If he wasn’t a half curse and it wasn’t so casual, I’d be concerned. Sukuna does NOT like either of the siblings since he’s met both. Very sweet that Yuuji caught him the second Sukuna threw him aside.
The color page (which looks incredible) is fueling my belief that Maki is with Yuuta as help with Kenjaku. That, or the current team is the first round of fighters and they’ll need her soul sword for something last-minute sukuna related, but I just wouldn’t be surprised if the jujutsu high second years stuck together.
Higuuuuuuuurumaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <3
I love him. “Sukuna found himself completely enthralled—“ same
No really, I’ve adored his character since chapter 159 released and I’m so happy that one of my favorite characters is getting all this. I already have other posts lined up for when the official chapter drops, but I love him.
His conversation with Yuuji was dark, but I love these quiet moments of insight. Such a good chapter for all these tiny character moments with interesting implications.
Despite my disappointment at the trial ending so soon, I like this fight and I think Sukuna does too (for Higuruma). The end pages about Higuruma’s quick learning and adaption to sorcery is exactly what I wanted to see!
(Continuing) Higuruma is essentially a tired lawyer new to sorcery and is not nearly as overpoweringly strong as Gojo, yet the manga states he rivals Gojo in raw talent and adaptability. Realistically, he doesn’t and can’t have that overpowered strength to the degree of Gojo, but I love how that doesn’t diminish the skills he does have and shows how valuable these characters can be (and it’s not JUST talent, but how their mindset around life and sorcery too). They don’t have to be overpowered to have a profound impact and be smart in their fighting.
(Continuing) I remember seeing comments after Gojo died that there was no use because there can’t be a way for the protagonists to defeat Sukuna without a deus ex machina, plot armor, etc. But I hoped the story would lean into the characters’ strengths and have them work together to find a smart way with combined effort to take down Sukuna, rather than Gojo be the magical solution to killing Sukuna and Kenjaku. So this chapter worked in a lot of ways for me.
(Continuing) It’s the same reason why Yuuji turning his role put on him (by others and himself) as a cage/tool into something significant in this fight is very compelling. At a surface level, these characters are much weaker than Sukuna, but I think they genuinely have a chance. Plus, it’s more entertaining to have a team fight in jjk and, despite still heavily incorporating the power system, I find this fight to already be more emotional and investing than the Gojo Sukuna one. Not to be overly negative on that last fight (there’s good moments in it and the fighting itself is fun), but this is what I wanted from JJK!
More people will die at some point. Better not be Choso (Yuki died for him so that had better not go to waste immediately), but could honestly be anyone. I do think there’s going to be a moment where things do end up going right for the protagonist team, but that could be a long time from now. Kusakabe being surprised at himself for his willingness to die to protect Higuruma was??? Adorable??? A duo I never considered, but I need them to survive (unlikely) and interact more now that I’m thinking of how well they’d get along.
Another long review of a jjk chapter, but had a great time with this one! At this point, I mention it weekly, but Sukuna in his original form is beautiful every time I see him and im very happy to have him in that form for this fight.

Pixie’s JJK Theories
!! SPOILERS !! (225 included) if u don’t wanna know anything then don’t read <3
Tumblr media
Okay so, I’ll try to make these make sense and put them in some sort of order bc I have so many ideas and thoughts they r swimming in my head :):)
Gna preface the whole thing by saying I don’t think Gojo is dead/will die, just from an editing/business perspective (I did 2 years study of being an editor and 5 years of creative writing studies, not an expert or anything so just MY OPINION)
Tumblr media
So first theory set:
Who’s gonna kill Sukuna and Kenjaku?
Maki Kills Sukuna
I think that 225 has been a signal that Sukuna CANNOT be defeated/killed by cursed energy or techniques. I don’t know how to describe it best but think of Achilles, an unbeatable hero but he had that one weakness. Now Sukuna’s whole CT/DE is based around weaponry right? There’s literally nobody more talented with weaponry than Maki - it’s been hinted that she’s even surpassed Toji in terms of physical prowess since Mai’s death and the whole heavenly restriction thing. What if, he basically can only be beaten by someone playing his game: a proper fight? Think of it, maki has no CE, no CT, no DE. But she is completely unparalleled with weapons and cursed tools. What if - she’s the antithesis and also the mirror image of him and that’s what could take him down? Also: it would be a mirror of Toji V Gojo.
Gojo & Sukuna = Gods amongst Mortals
Maki & Toji = The Mortals
Toji’s lack of cursed energy and physical abilities also with the inverted spear allowed him to kill Satoru.
What if this will be repeated history with Maki - with something from the Zen’in vault?
If Maki could then save Megumi, then they could work to rebuild the Zen’in clan in their image: modern, fair and open.
That’s one theory anyway since we’ve seen that Sukuna cherishes and admires strength and power.
Tumblr media
Theory Two
Choso Kills Kenjaku
OKAY SO Choso’s whole character is family. His whole aim since day one has been his brothers. What if choso kills kenjaku, as his revenge? Noritoshi Kamo is the one who both created AND destroyed Choso’s family - it would be poetic justice for Choso to be the one to kill him, since he has known nothing but manipulation and violence since his ‘birth’.
Theory Three
Yuuji kills Sukuna
Sukuna took so much from yuuji it would just be JUSTICE but also remember during the exchange event arc megumi really emphasised how even without cursed energy yuuji would still destroy them all in hand to hand combat? I think that’s rly important here. This kinda follows the same logic as my maki theory but I just have this feeling that Sukuna can’t be taken down with cursed techniques or DE, it has to be raw unbridled power. Like I said Sukuna respects and covets power and maybe it’s because he knows that’s the one thing that could kill a god like him.
Plus - this ties in with ‘start by saving me, Itadori’ and megumi and Yuuji’s promises and threats to not die. Regardless of whether or not u ship them romantically, their relationship (platonic or not) has been at the forefront of the entire series - it would make sense for Itadori starting his full Sukuna free life by the first person he really saves being Megumi.
Also I like this because remember the ‘Nah, I’d win’ conversion with Gojo? Wouldn’t it be cool if it was actually Yuuji who won - saving Gojo, Megumi and everyone else?
Tumblr media
Theory Four
Inumaki is gonna have a big part to play. Idk what, but the timing of his return lends itself to this.
Also, Nobara isn’t dead. The other person that gojo Shoko and Ijichi were talking about was Nobara and she ain’t dead but severely injured and I think she’s gonna come in with a dramatic ‘here to save ur sorry asses’ moment bc it just is very on brand for her.
Tumblr media
Theory Five
Why Gojover isn’t happening now/ever.
But especially now.
OKAY business perspective ik it takes away from the ‘story’ part but don’t forget that Gege has editors and he needs to sell more copies of future editions and chapters so a certain amount of fan service is required, Gojo stole the show literally - they know that killing him off is a bad business choice at any point, but especially in such an anti-climactic way.
Another rly important point is every character who’s had a huge impact on the story and then subsequently fuckin died, think Geto, Nanami, Toji - they’ve all had a poignant death and Gojo has had even more of an impact on the story.
Geto: you could at least curse me a little in the end and his moment w gojo in the alley
Nanami: you’ve got it from here looking at yuuji his protege who he was so tough on and then telling him essentially he trusted and believed in him
Toji: my kid will be sold to the Zen’in’s, do what you will after pushing gojo to unlock his full potential thru fuckin stabbing him and then gojo stopping the sale of megumi
After all of these deaths they’re not gonna do:
Gojo: 3 chapters, gets slashed in the neck and fucking croaks.
That’s just bad storytelling and no matter how cruel he is Gege is a phenomenal storyteller
NEXT point is I think this is where we’re finally gonna see some real RCT. It’s interesting how Gojo said he doesn’t mind going HAM on Megumi’s body bc he looks like his dad - I don’t think that’s a coincidence that he’s fighting someone who looks so like Toji and then gets slashed in his neck? Seems a bit like repeating history, but I think even Gojo’s RCT won’t cut it - I think it’ll be Shoko who saves him.
The giveaway for this for me was ‘You were never alone’ and her reminiscing. She’s always been there for the two boys and she always will be - she’s the most powerful RCT user and she’s never left Gojo’s side, and she won’t fail him now. She will heal his neck, because he’s not alone at the top of the food chain. Pair with this if Utahime is still using her amplification technique, Shoko is almost unstoppable in terms of RCT.
We’ve seen this situation with Yuuta and Yuuji too, so there’s canon evidence of its existence and potential.
Also - I don’t think the Tojification of Gojo is accidental or just gege having a hard on for Toji. This is again a Man Vs God situation, take this and use it on Toji (man) v Gojo (god), but now it’s Gojo (man) vs Sukuna (god). Ultimately, Toji killed Gojo. He killed a God by force. Maybe that’s some foreshadowing idk idk.
Tumblr media
Theory six
Yuuta kills Kenjaku.
Don’t fight me on this one. It’s feminine intuition. Idk why or how or where but it’s gna happen.
Tumblr media
Theory seven
Noritoshi Kamo kills Noritoshi Kamo.
The battle of the Noritoshi’s.
Won’t happen but would be funny and I would enjoy the confusion at the both screaming each others names and it being their own names like the confusion from Shibuya.
Theory Eight
I kill Sukuna and Kenjaku.
They’re testing my patience rn, and they’re hurting my babies. Mama Pixie is unhappy. I’ll chase after them both and beat them with a frying pan until they both apologise and get me a bouquet each for being such unruly boys and then they will make ‘I’m sorry for killing your brother/I’m sorry for taking your eye out/sorry for living in ur body and taking ur heart out/sorry for killing ur sister and then taking ur body/sorry for using ur ex-bfs body as a marionette’ cards for everyone and I put them in time out (hell).
