Truly one of my/everyone's okkg moment is probably the one from farewell shinsengumi arc specifically this scene right here. And what makes it so much impactful is how it led to this moment

From the previous arcs before this one, it's been continuously mentioned how he "Has the eyes of a murderer" (and oh my god the panels looks so damn similar as well. Look it's kamunobu, guy--)

Granted, he's the ace of Shinsengumi and a Prince from the Sadist Planet, his body count is probably not countable and he even got his dedicated arc how hated he is by everyone and wants his head www (Rokkaku arc)

Despite all this, what held him together? His title as a police officer who's upholding (his skewed sense of) justice and his loyalty to Kondo. And of course, his sister who loved him as he is and proud of what he does.

In this arc however, all of those things disappeared.

His sister already died, his supposed beacon of light. The shinsengumi which was his everything disbanded and Kondo is headed straight to the guillotine. My guy was lost af and now fully believe he truly is just a manslayer with nothing else to his name.

Now, this girl who suddenly barged in in the middle of his emo ass dialogue is ordering him around to do his job as a "policeman" and control the traffic for her big ass dog who was probably the one to sniff out his location because she was actively searching for him knowing that he would do something stupid like this.

She was there to remind him that he's not a murderer but a police officer who was able to save two girls. And another thing I liked was a twt from a korean user who said that instead of other known things that cops do, she chose to ask the most menial and normal job that cops do which is 'controlling traffic' so she could walk Sadaharu. Because its part of their every routine 🥹

AND YOU KNOW WHAT BREAKS ME MORE THAN THIS!? Remember the plot of BFY movie!?!!!! Gintoki disappeared and everything went wrong.

Gintoki wasn't there for the assassination of the shogun, Kondo got arrested and shinsengumi disbanded, Toshi parted his bangs and Sougo became a knock off Kenshin, and Zura is Zura. Similar plot, right???

Kagura prob was much more worried for Gintoki in that timeline and wasn't there to knock some senses into him when Shinsengumi disbanded so he actually got that damn title and wore it proudly by then😭😭

Kagura, when Shinsengumi Farewell happened, at that time, she already unknowingly became a big part of Sougo's support and probably a beacon of light, as well.

Just as how Mitsuba in her last moments *sobs* reminded him how proud she is of him and the path he chose, Kagura is there to continue bashing it in his head (literally) that as much as he's killed people, he also saved as much people's lives as a cop and nothing will change that.

She's there to make sure he doesn't stray away from the path he chose--the path Mitsuba was proud of.

Cherry Magic Anime Ep 12 (Finale) Stray Thoughts

Last week, the boys made a right mess of themselves. Adachi went to visit Nagasaki to scout out the new position, and send a letter to Kurosawa while he was there. Thankfully, Kurosawa is a simp, and the letter accomplished its job. Kurosawa went to Nagasaki to see Adachi, and finally got to hear Adachi express clearly how much Kurosawa means to him. We left the two of them in bed, and Adachi likely no longer has his powers. Meanwhile, Tsuge tried to support Minato from a distance, but Minato chased after him and the two properly connected.

Thank you, Cherry Magic Anime, for confirming that Adachi could hear Kurosawa’s thoughts during their first encounter.

I like that this version dwelled in the loss of Adachi’s power, and what it meant for Adachi. I especially like that he asserts that it has little to do with the definition of a virgin and the physical realities of sex, and instead has to do with Adachi’s willingness to be open and vulnerable with Kurosawa.

My man Kurosawa is crying because he knows he’s loved and it’s what he deserves.

Okay, Adachi saying that Kurosawa’s warmth and scent are stronger now that he’s not hearing his thoughts is such an excellent detail. Good job, Cherry Magic Anime.

Hell yeah, Adachi! You should take on this new project that excites you, and also accept the inherent promotion! So happy that he’s serious about trusting Kurosawa and speaking openly about how excited he is about this opportunity. I like that he recognizes that his relationship with Kurosawa has made him braver.

Very funny that Adachi forgot about the power and that’s how Tsuge found out. I also like seeing Tsuge be impressed with Adachi taking a major step forward before him.

I have missed Fujisaki. I’m glad we got a little bit of her.

Oh boy. Adachi is being worn out from all of the difficulties that come with his new responsibilities.

I love Adachi going back to Tokyo to talk with Kurosawa about his anxieties. Recognizing that something bad could happen to either of them and no one would know about them is actually so frightening, and a genuine gay reality.

Adachi saying they should live together and Kurosawa putting a ring on it feels like the right balance for them.

Look at that splash of domesticity for both couples at the end as a treat.

They got married!! Fujisaki won!

What a lovely stinger at the end.

Final Verdict: 9, Highly Recommended. I really like this version of the entire cast. They’re far more flawed in a way that makes them a little less likable, but it also makes me empathize with all of them a lot more. I like that Rokkaku was such a dick early on to Adachi, so it lands when he finally starts to respect him properly and remember his name. I love how mundane Cherry Magic as a story is, despite the magic power. I absolutely loved this version, and it and the Thai version will stay on my recommendations list for a really long time. The Thai version may be the best show of the Cherry Magic stories, but this one has my favorite versions of the characters.

Kotaro / コタロウ, Mokushu / フウマ, Kohga / コウガ, and Igasato / 忍びの里

Kotaro (JP: コタロウ; rōmaji: kotarou) is the daimyo of the nation of Mokushu who allies with Nohr in Fire Emblem Fates. Like Saizo, Kotaro is named after a legendary Sengoku era figure that may or may not have existed. Fūma Kotarō (JP: 風魔小太郎) was the alleged fifth head of the Fūma clan. This clan, practiced in Fūma-ryū ninjutsu, served under the powerful Hōjō clan until they were dismantled by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Stories of Kotarō and the Fūma clan describe them as a dreaded band of thieves causing trouble. Some say that he led two hundred men known as rappa (JP:乱波), meaning 'thief' or 'spy'. The most infamous tale of them is that they swarmed a Takeda clan camp during the Battle of Omosu, sowing chaos and spiking the death toll.

After the collapse of the Hōjō clan, it is said that the Fūma clan, though dwindled in numbers, remained active. By the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate, what remained of them were little more than roaming bandits. The more time passed, the more outlandish the stories of Kotarō grew. The most tame say that he managed to murder his mortal enemy, the historical samurai and leader of the Iga-ryū ninja—Hattori Hanzō. Others lean into the 魔 (rōmaji: ma) "demon" in Fūma, claiming that he was a colossal man and part oni. Never mind that the rivalry between Kotarō and Hanzō only came about in fictitious accounts, and that the earliest form of the name Fūma is rendered as 風間 rather than 風魔.

The Hoshidan nation of Mokushu bears a very peculiar name. In Japanese, another reading for the word for trees or wood, 木 (rōmaji: ki) is moku. Then shu likely comes from the Japanese counter for trees, 株 (rōmaji: shu). It may also be intended to invoke 衆 (rōmaji: shū), a sonkeigo (respectful language used when speaking to a superior or customer) word meaning "people; group". Thus, the name Mokushu can be interpreted as "Trees" or "Tree People," relating to the dense forests of the land.

At least, that's the localization of the country's name. In Japanese, Mokushu is instead called フウマ (rōmaji: fūma). That's right: the original name is a direct reference to the Fūma-ryū ninjas. It seems this was considered too on-the-nose by the localizers. Unfortunately, this change broke the chain of locations named after ninja schools.

Kohga (JP: コウガ; rōmaji: kōga) was a nation destroyed by Kotaro and the Mokushujin. The name is derived from Kōga-ryū—called 甲賀流 (rōmaji: kōka ryū) in the native language—one of the major schools of ninjutsu during the Sengoku period. Originating from the city of Kōka, the ninja and samurai of this school served the Rokkaku clan opposing the mighty Oda clan. Though the clan persisted beyond the sixteenth century, the last head of the school refused to teach anyone, leaving Kōga-ryū to die in the 1900s. This may be the basis of Kohga's end.

Additionally, there may be a tie to one of the earliest published works that influenced depictions of Fūma Kotarō. In 1661, 古老軍物語 (rōmaji: korōgun monogatari) or "Old Army Tales," there is a rappa ninja called 風間の三郎太郎 (rōmaji: kazama no saburō tarō). Note that Kazama (風間), a name he received for his ability to slip through tightly guarded locations as easy as the wind, is written the same as the original form of Fūma. Kazama was said in the text to originate from Kōka. Some have also linked this Kazama figure to the legendary hero Kōga Saburō (JP: 甲賀三郎), described in the Shintōshū to be the human form of the Suwa god Suwa Myōjin. That may just be coincidence, however, as there is no overt relation to the nation of Kohga or its only known inhabitant.

Lastly, Igasato is the ninja village Saizo and Kaze call home. The name combines the Japanese word 里 (rōmaji: sato), meaning 'village' or 'countryside' and Iga-ryū, another major ninja school. This practice started in the Iga Province, hence the name. The prevalence of ninja activity in both this province and the close proximity to the city of Kōka has caused many to believe this to be where ninjutsu began. Despite modern depictions of the two schools displaying a nasty rivalry between them, the Iga-ryū and Kōga-ryū were very close and frequently cooperated. Both supported the Rokkaku clan, and after the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate, both clans would be hired by Tokugawa Ieyasu, in part to his relation with the Iga ninja Hattori Hanzō. This may have inspired how Saizo and Kaze act as retainers to the Hoshidan royal family. Similarly, the aforementioned feud between Hanzō and Kotarō likely served as the basis for the conflict between Fire Emblem's Saizo and Kotaro, after the previous Saizo was killed.

At least, I would say that if Igasato wasn't a localization change. While the team behind Fates' western release removed the direct reference to the Fūma clan, they simultaneously added a new name relating to another ninja school. In Japanese, all mentions of Igasato by Saizo instead have him say 忍びの里 (rōmaji: shinobi no sato): literally "ninja village". Given how there are likely many "ninja villages" across Hoshido, giving the "Christmas Ninjas" a proper name to their home was a wise decision.

Its a Cherry Magic AU!! Yes the one where the MC is a 30 y/o virgin nd becomes a wizard bcs of it.

It starts off with Kuboyasu being a 29 y/o virgin, whos working as a teacher. Despite going out often, he hangs around with his friends, which he doesn’t feel any romantic attraction to. Or so he thought.

In comes Saiki, who works in a manga company, taking after his dad. Except hes doing much better nd has a higher pay! Or sumn.. i’ll think abt it?

They both meet up unintentionally nd hung out together. Saiki probably liked Kuboyasu way before they turned 30 or something but Kuboyasu doesnt notice.

Until he turns 30, he gains telepathic powers, allowing him to read minds nd stuff. Being afraid of other ppl having the exact same power, he tried to close off his mind but to no avail. It isnt until a while later does Saiki realises that Kuboyasu can read minds that he tried to block out all thoughts of his evergrowing crush nd stuff.

Saiki nd Kuboyasu are Adachi nd Kurosawa respectively except they are also much much more different than the original two!

Fujisaki is probably Aiura or Teruhashi ( im thinking Aiura )

ill feed some sona lore and then my jsr oc rokkaku evil duo from my gory grim au.

to start with, my persona!

they are, well, a human with a bird mask, specifically a vermilion cardinal, not to be confused with the northern cardinal that most know. Very exuberant and expressive despite their mask not moving an inch, extroverted and speaks of the typical and twisted with the same energy. Named swift because they thought it would be funny to be called that despite their mask being a cardinal.

Now for some fun facts!

They tend to have a wide, genuine smile on at most times, not the sort found on most constantly smiling characters. They just love life (unless its christmas.) but some people are still irked by it, which is part of the reason they wear the mask, abliet a reason they cant admit to themself.

Their actual name is allie, but they prefer al or swift.

Their favourite foods/drinks are smoked mackerel, fried wild mushrooms, ice cream floats with vanilla and orangeade and high cocoa % hot cocoa with pumpkin spice.

They adore all matters of organisms and are an absolute biology nerd and love specbio.

MASASHI ROKKAKU AND ZERO!

Masashi is Goji's son and successor, antagonist of Jet Set Radio Overclock, redux's JSRF equivalent. He's the one who rebuilt Tokyo-to into neo-tokyo from the wake of ruin it was in from the consequences of his father's actions. Alas, sadly, he did not see his actions as a bad thing, rather, he made certain mistakes that he saw as the problem rather than his whole plan.

As a person, he's quite different from Goji, despite their similarity in ideals. Rather than being cold, intimidating and cruel, he's grand and larger than life, and the city definitely reflects that, meat robots and all. Unlike Goji, he isnt working through nothing but arrogance and a thirst for control, though losing a part of control is definitely part of it- he genuinely believes that the rudies are a danger to his civilians and his city, which is not helped by said rudies attempting to wage war on humanity, as well as the fact they turned a human into another one of them and kidnapped someone. yeah the rudies are not good people in this au

A literal killing machine designed to murder rudies specifically, this organic robot roughly is as intelligent as a sea urchin and sure does act like it. He stridulates like a death's head hawkmoth too and accepts pets! His design is uniquely variable, his body being comprised of floating metallic segments which grow more segments and drop over time. however, the segments at the end of his arms and tail have long, frightening claws made of bone that are charged with netrium, built for slashing open unfortunate rudies with terrifying ease and his face segment has a sharp proboscis for draining the blood of his victims. Masashi still casually just. has him around for some reason and zero's uncomprehending ass vibes. he knows of nothing but his own literal thirst for blood but only indulges when opportune. basically a horror movie monster that both happens to be absolutely brainless and so mostly inert and is the lapdog of a multibillionaire.

Cherry Magic Ep 3

I thought we were gonna get the partner for Masato in episode 3, but we got him in episode 4. INSTEAD HOWEVER, in episode 3 we got some other fun characters!!

ONE OF THEM BEING VOICED BY FUCKING YUUSUKE SHIRAI!!!!

Was not expecting his high pitched whiney voice to appear OUT OF A CHARACTER LIKE THIS but also I really SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED. HE'S A STAPLE IN BL ANIME AND AUDIO DRAMAS. High pitched whiney is a compliment by the way because its CUTE and made Capybara have conniptions while listening cause this is his favorite VA, and also DAMN THIS DUDE HAS RANGE.

GO listen to the character Ramuda's voice from HypMic and you'll see what I'm talking about. His other characters are friggen Sasaki from Sasaki and Miyano, Nikaido from Idolish7, Usui Masumi from A3!, and basically this man can SING and has RANGE and is bread and butter in the anime idol boy world.

So yea, Shirai, Yuusuke plays the annoying kouhai Yuuta Rokkaku, whose only purpose is to make Kurosawa jealous of Adachi spending time with someone and make Adachi jealous of Kurosawa's 'perfection' when Kurosawa starts showing off trying to get his attention away from Rokkaku. I also hope he becomes a Shipper On Deck with the other new character, Nozomi Fujisaki!

Koshimizu, Ami is the voice of Fujisaki sempai, who is so far just a stereotypical Japanese office lady, but having seen her in the opening we know that she is the CAPTAIN of this Ship, All Hands On Deck, and has fucking Acrylic Stands of these two that she's absolutely gonna make kiss like barbie dolls.

She also voices fricken Ryuuko fro Kill La Kill, Kallen Stadtfield from Code Geass, Sailor Jupiter from Sailer Moon Crystal, and a TON of other big name female characters!! Delightful.

LMAO if this isn't the first thing that pops up in episode 3!! I'VE TAKEN THIS MEDICINE BEFORE. It's OTC anti-hangover meds THAT FUCKING WORK. They're also really good for dealing with certain IBS symptoms. OTC Meds in Japan are Great. (*w*)b

Episode 3 is the Karaoke Episode, standard Japanese business life going drinking with your superiors to "improve moral" (This shit sucks, and I only had to deal with it the first 3 years I lived here. Bosses don't know what boundaries are, don't even know the word).

There's tons of funny faces. This episode was having so much fun.

Poor Kurosawa fails at impressing his love interest with Karaoke cause the man is too upset by how perfect he is. WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE GOOD AT EVERYTHING. I'm waiting for the moment when that perfection is peeled back to show the person underneath.

Adachi tries to rescue his female co-worker whose being catcalled / harrased by drunk dudes not even from their company, only to get rescued himself.

Fujisaki is all of us. She knows EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING ON. Even if Adachi doesn't lmao. She doesn't need to read minds. She's got Fujoshi-Senses.

Adachi is also not subtle at ALL ABOUT TOUCHING?????? But he's also NEVER successful???????? MY BOY. THINK. USE THAT SINGULAR BRAIN CELL TO FIND A BETTER WAY.

I guess Adachi like Rokkoku enough to go to a Sauna with him? And Kurosawa is of course tags along because he gets to see Adachi naked.

This is also SUCH a Japanese thing. Someone's hobby is always something boring like "listening to music" or "watching movies" or "drinking socially" which aren't REAL hobbies, OR IT'S WEIRD RANDOM STUFF LIKE GOING TO A SAUNA.

OH LOOK HIS NIPPLES ARE GROWN IN. (This is a running joke between me and Capybara about whether a character is an adult or not)

STEAM CONDUCTS THOUGHTS!!!!! Poor Adachi clutching his towel and running like the fair maiden heart he is after seeing all of Kuroswa's fantasies.

So capybara and my theory is that it's BODY heat that transfers the thoughts, otherwise it wouldn't work through clothing. (What happens if we get an Adachi or Kurosawa with hypothermia? Sick Fic anyone?)

But also this is the kind of stuff I feel bad for Kurosawa about. He's allowed to have fantasies damnit! They shouldn't be held against him! Unless he does something to Adachi that he doesn't want or consent to LET THE MAN LIVE DAMNIT.

But also poor Adachi for having to experience that anyways haha.

We get a rare moment here of hearing Kurosawa's inner thoughts (mostly self pity about the situation his heart has gotten him into), and it's NOT filtered through Adachi for once! So it humanizes him a bit more (not that he wasn't human before? But like people idolize him rather than villanize him... I don't know the word I'm looking for... endears us to him?) and we get to see his thoughts on the situation, the damage that's been done from being basically a "Gifted Kid" in more ways than one, fucking SA'd by a CEO Lady and also WHY he likes Adachi and damn, it took someone seeing him as something less then Ken Doll Perfect for once in his life to fall for someone of the same sex. It's definitely more than that, but like. That's so story book sweet and a little sad type romantic. I love it.

It took one man giving him a Dom Face to awaken the Inner Sub in him, and his heart was stolen, lmao. (I think this might be Capybara projecting and wanting someone to look at HIM like that tho >w>) (im gonna get murdered for that)

I hope they continue to play with tropes and don't follow the standard "One of these MALE characters is just a stand in for a FEMALE, so one is the seme/top and one is the uke/bottom and they NEVER switch."

God I hope they switch. And/Or Adachi makes the first real move. Or like, Pins / Kabe-Don's Kurosawa to the wall. That would make me so happy.

Me when I first saw that: how does it fit perfectly? Kurosawa, did you measure Adachi's finger while he was asleep? You would, wouldn't you- YOU ACTUALLY DID THAT OMG YOU AFSNGNJDFGKN!!

Some of my favourite parts were when Kurosawa showed up at the hospital, all drenched from the rain because ✨drama✨ (it's also hilarious to me how dramatic they made Adachi's accident out to be while tbh nothing happened lol). Obviously also the scenes afterwards at Adachi's new place!! Just the cutest!!

And that scene where Adachi tells Kurosawa that he's been working hard so that he's needed at work, just in case people aren't supportive when they tell them they're together. That's so sad but I completely understand where he's coming from.

And them moving in together, and meeting the families and just--- *incoherent*

... Ok favourite scenes moments are gonna get too long! It's just all too wholesome and cute!

PS: I'm would've loved to have seen Rokkaku's reaction to them being a couple! In his special episode, he came up with a whole theory about why they were so close and such and NEVER ONCE DID HE THINK "OH MAYBE MY BOSSES ARE GAY FOR EACH OTHER!" lol bet he was shocked xD

Rare Skills

Funada Kiito using Lunatic Trancer

I hope you like long lists.

What are Rare Skills?

In Assault Lily, Rare Skills are potent abilities which each Lily has one and only one of. Lilies tend to awaken to them during their years at which their magie is at its peak (i.e. high school, or close to it.) For example, Miriam Hildegard von Gropius awakened her Rare Skill just before entering high school, and Hitotsuyanagi Riri and Kawabata Hotaru awakened theirs during their first year.

Not all Lilies have a Rare Skill, though it's quite rare—no pun intended—for any Lily featured in an Assault Lily story to not have one. Some of the only examples are Hitotsuyanagi Riri (at the very beginning of Bouquet and League of Gardens) and Kondo Misaka.

Rare Skills are said to reflect each individual Lily's personality, with this being the reason that every Lily only has a single one, and there are vague "stereotypes" associated with some of them. Lilies with Phantasm are often said to be daydreamers, and those with Heliosphere tend to be dependable people who balance rationality with emotion.

Some Lilies' Rare Skills are more powerful than those of others, and Lilies are ranked C, B, A and S depending on the power of their Rare Skill, though generally only Rank S is considered especially worthy of note. Rank S Rare Skills often have unique powers that lesser users of the skills cannot manifest at all, such as Heliosphere's "beam coat".

Lilies also have "subskills", which are lesser versions of Rare Skills that have about 70% of their power at most. Even so, subskills are almost as important as Rare Skills in combat, because Lilies can have several of them (as many as seven.) All subskills correspond to a Rare Skill, but some Rare Skills have no known subskill equivalent. They have different names from their Rare Skill versions.

The Long List

Brave

Notable Users: Hatsukano Yo (Last Bullet), Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi (stage plays), Nagasawa Yuki (stage plays) Subskill: None known

Brave users are able to purify negative magie within those Lilies who the user touches. This makes then the ideal partners for Lunatic Trancer users, as Yo demonstrates with Ran and Tsugumi demonstrates with Kayo. However, it consumes quite a bit of the user's own magie, so it has to be used judiciously.

At Rank S, Brave can be used to affect a wide area, creating an effect similar to that of Regista (but less powerful.)

Circlet Bless

Notable Users: Banshoya Ena, Rokkaku Shiori, Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie (stage plays) Subskill: None known

Circlet Bless is real simple. If you have it, you can wield a different CHARM in both hands. If you don't, you're stuck with one CHARM (or you have to get a fancy, expensive CHARM like the Triglav that's specifically designed to be dual-wieldable without Circlet Bless.)

Circlet Bless only began to appear recently. Banshoya Ena and Tiuccia Paumgartner were the first known Circlet Bless users, and they both awakened to it during the Koshu Withdrawal, two years ago. It makes Lilies with it much more powerful, so it's quickly become an important Rare Skill.

Despite the picture above hinting that "circlets" are involved in some way, we have no idea why it's called Circlet Bless.

Hawk's Eye

Notable Users: Futagawa Fumi, Takashima Yakumo (Last Bullet) Subskill: Clairvoyance

Hawk's Eye gives its users a birds-eye view of the battlefield over a large area. This comes bundled for free with the mental ability to easily process that much information, as if one were playing a board game (aside from in some unusual circumstances, demonstrated in episode 10 of Bouquet.)

Though within the setting itself, it has never been stated to be an uncommon RS, Hawk's Eye is one of the least frequent ones for named Lilies to have; it's possessed by only 6 of them, out of over 200 Lilies that we know of.

Heaven's Measure

Notable Users: Wang Yujia, Tanba Akari (Last Bullet) Subskill: Magic Eye

Heaven's Measure (also known as The Scales of Heaven) allows its users to manifest a series of mystical scopes in front of their eye and reckon the distance to the target down to the centimeter, as well as enhancing their eyesight in general. Needless to say, this skill is a major asset to snipers.

At Rank S, Heaven's Measure grants another ability called "Dead Eye Motion", which slows the user's subjective perception of time.

Like Hawk's Eye, Heaven's Measure is an uncommon RS from a meta perspective and is possessed by only 9 named Lilies.

Heliosphere

Notable Users: Amano Soraha, Serizawa Chikaru (Last Bullet), Seto Veronica Ichika (stage plays) Subskill: Consecration

One can think of Heliosphere as the opposite of Regista: instead of creating a field that makes Lilies stronger, it creates a field that makes the Huge weaker. While it doesn't come with the nice extras that Regista does, even a low-ranked user of the skill is a major asset to their team.

At Rank S, Heliosphere users can surround themselves with a "beam coat" that shields them against negative magie and weak attacks.

Laplace

Notable Users: Hitotsuyanagi Riri (...probably), Shiba Tomoshibi (stage plays) Subskill: Charisma

Laplace is a new and mysterious Rare Skill, and in Assault Lily Bouquet, no one seems to have been quite sure what it did yet.

However, all indications since are that it's a souped-up version of its subskill, Charisma. It creates a field that shields Lilies from negative magie, supposedly via the user actually absorbing it from the nearby Huge and inverting its polarity, then radiating it again as usable magie. For unclear reasons, this seems to allow more (sometimes far more) than nine Lilies to take part in the Neunwelt Tactic.

Laplace is unique among Rare Skills in that it typically appears first in Lilies as its subskill version, Charisma, and over time evolves into Laplace.

It isn't 100% confirmed that Riri has Laplace, but as a playable character in Last Bullet she does, so… she probably does.

Lunatic Trancer

Notable Users: Shirai Yuyu, Sasaki Ran (Last Bullet), Funada Kiito & Ui (stage plays) Subskill: Threshold of Madness

Lunatic Trancer is said to balance a Lily upon the threshold of madness (hey, that's also what its subskill is called.) This lets her go well beyond her physical limits, ignore gravity, and even continue fighting if her heart stops beating. But it also makes her build up negative magie like crazy, which can have major consequences for her later.

Despite statements to the contrary in some Assault Lily stories, Lunatic Trancer by itself does not normally cause Lilies to attack their fellow Lilies. More on that later.

Phantasm

Notable Users: Ando Tazusa, Egawa Kusumi, Hanaoka Angela Moe (stage plays) Subskill: Rainbow Path

Phantasm users can simulate a vast number of illusionary futures, near-instantaneously within their mind, and choose their desired outcome. They can then telepathically transmit the actions necessary to produce that outcome to nearby Lilies.

However, the Lily needs to trust their allies to do as they're directed in order to make good use of this Rare Skill.

This RS is canonically one of the rarest ones there is, but from a meta perspective it's not as uncommon as many others are, with 26 Lilies known to have it.

Phase Transcendence

Notable Users: Miriam Hildegard von Gropius, Endo Araya, Iijima Renka (Last Bullet) Subskill: Awakening

Phase Transcendence users can channel a huge amount of magie into a single powerful attack, capable of taking out stronger Huge like large-types in one blow. This often leaves them completely incapacitated afterwards, as Miriam has demonstrated more than once. Without good teamwork, it's quite dangerous for the user.

In contrast to Miriam, higher-ranked Phase Transcendence users like Araya tend not to be left completely unable to move after using the RS.

Regista

Notable Users: Kaede Johan Nouvel, Aizawa Kazuha (Last Bullet), Kon Kanaho (Last Bullet) Subskill: War God's Protection

This skill does a lot. The most important thing Regista does is create a field that improves the purity of magie, increasing the offensive power of nearby Lilies. It also shields those Lilies from harm, and includes the ability to see the battlefield from above similar to Hawk's Eye (though it's less powerful than Hawk's Eye and comparable to its subskill version.)

Having at least one Regista user is considered virtually mandatory for performing the Neunwelt Tactic, and thus, for forming a legion at all.

Shukuchi

Notable Users: Yoshimura Thi Mai, Sano Matilda Kokoro (stage plays) Subskill: Invisible One

This skill lets a Lily move incredibly fast. That's it. Normally they can move only virtually instantaneously, but at Rank S, Shukuchi users can create wormholes known as "gates."

Shukuchi is another of the least common RSes from a meta perspective. Only 6 named Lilies have it.

Testament

Notable Users: Kuo Shenlin, Toki Kureha (Last Bullet), Kawamura Yuzuriha (stage plays) Subskill: Promised Land

This Rare Skill allows Lilies to boost the area of effect of other Lilies' powers. But it also consumes a great deal of the user's magie, weakening their defenses. Testament users are at risk of injury or death whenever they use it, and often wield specialized CHARMs focused on personal defense. Teamwork is especially important for them.

Canonically (but not from a meta perspective), Testament is one of the most uncommon RSes.

Übersein

Notable Users: Li Christina Susu (stage plays) Subskill: Stealth

Übersein (also known as Ubersign) allows a Lily to become invisible and completely erase her presence from both friends and enemies. She can also make other objects seem to be her in order to lure the Huge in. Übersein is considered a very helpful skill when performing the Neunwelt Tactic, as it can help clear the way for passes.

Rank S Übersein users can do something that's a massive spoiler for the stage play Assault Lily: Lost Memories. Maybe I should make a post about that play with a spoiler warning...

From a meta perspective, Übersein is the least common RS. Only three Lilies are known to have it.

The Way of the World

Notable Users: Mashima Moyu, Sadamori Himeka (Last Bullet), Amamiya Sophia Seren (stage plays) Subskill: Whole Order

This RS (also known as World's Reason) lets its users anticipate the direction in which Lilies, the Huge, and other things will continue to move. It greatly increases one's personal evasive ability and can also be used to warn allies of danger.

The Way of the World can also be used offensively in order to hit many enemies with a single attack or flurry of attacks.

Z

Notable Users: Amatsu Marei (stage plays), Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko (stage plays) Subskill: None known, but it's rumored that Yamanashi Hibari might be the first Lily to have it

Z, also known as Control-Z and Last Letter, lets a Lily rewind time within an area about the breadth of her armspan. It can save the lives of critically injured Lilies, and also do things like repair CHARMs that overheat or break in the midst of battle.

Z is an incredibly uncommon RS both within the canon and outside it. Five named Lilies are known to have it.

Zenon Paradoxa

Notable Users: Hata Matsuri, Miyagawa Takane (Last Bullet), Hishida Haru (stage plays) Subskill: None known

Zenon Paradoxa is often considered to be a fusion of Shukuchi and The Way of the World, and allows its users to make swift and powerful attacks. It's a straightforward RS that is prized when choosing Lilies to go on the offense.

Things That Aren't Rare Skills

Earlier I wrote "Lunatic Trancer by itself does not normally cause Lilies to attack their fellow Lilies," so why did Yuyu do it? I'll just direct you to the wiki article on Divine Possession. This isn't a phenomenon associated with Lunatic Trancer in specific; Hishida Haru, a Zenon Paradoxa user, is also susceptible to it.

There are also Boosted Skills. I described some of them in my blog post on Boosted Lilies.

Aside from those, some Lilies have powers that, for whatever reason (perhaps because they're often incredibly rare and have only been observed in a single Lily, and because those Lilies already have Rare Skills) aren't themselves considered Rare Skills. A well-known example is Mori Tatsuki's ability to hear what the Huge are "saying" to one another. Another Lily at Yurigaoka, Hara Midori of Legion Reginleif, can somehow sense the presence of nearby Huge or Caves through her skin.

GEHENA has recently been experimenting with two abilities of this sort, "Sacred Eye" and "Evil Eye," that are possible to implant into Lilies in the manner of Boosted Skills. It is not yet fully clear what these abilities do...

So, in the midst of scrolling through tiktok nd waiting for kubosai content, i stumbled upon sumn I should’ve watched back during quarantine.

Cherry Magic. ( or Cherry Magic! 30歳まで童貞だと魔法使いになれるらしい )

It never occurred to me that i should watch it until two days ago, when a video a close friend of mine reposted came up. Despite having told myself that i might watch it back in 2020 when it came out, i never actually got to watching it but now that i did, I want to say that, its a fkin masterpiece.

Adachi nd Kurosawa have such a lovely relationship, that doesn’t necessarily revolve around sex ( something that i try to put off from most BL’s ppl around me have introduced ). The side characters are all well written and really memorable despite the little scenes they have with the main protagonists.

My favourites are definitely Adachi, Kurosawa, Rokkaku and Fujisaki! They’re all so sweet to each other nd their dynamic makes it more or less sweeter!! The way they ( Adachi nd Kurosawa ) inspire both Fujisaki and Rokkaku in their own ways. But despite the little ( i mean, does it count as little?? They do have alot of screentime together??? ) scenes they have, they do make their scenes worthwhile to watch and man they are js so adorable everytime they come up 😭😭

Adachi and Kurosawa on the other hand, are rlly rlly cute. Their relationship makes me crumble and fold.

Kurosawa is such a green flag. The way he wants to hold and kiss Adachi but holds back from his urges bcs he cares more abt Adachi than his own urges. Sure its basic human decency but seeing it actually being well-portrayed in a BL show ( not that I rarely see it, its more of most Japanese shows being weird nd stuff ykwim? ) makes it so much more refreshing to watch. Also the way he cares so so much abt Adachi? He could sense if Adachi is more gloomier, picks up on the lil quirks Adachi has, makes sure Adachi is smiling most of the time bcs he enjoys seeing him happy more than he enjoys seeing him being upset etc etc. It’s js so heartwarming and Kurosawa doesnt even have mind reading powers to do that. He supports Adachi all the way, even spending days trying to help Adachi perfect his presentation skills nd stuff nd js ughhhhh-

Adachi, is incredibly cute as well, his little bedhead, the funny monologues he does in his head, his existential crisis’ everytime he hears Kurosawa’s thoughts, the amount of “ Ehs “ he says and the way he thinks so lowly of himself makes his character relatable and endearing. He gets so excited about the thought of being popular or being an inspiration but immediately turns the idea down due to some unforeseen circumstances or js bcs of his thoughts. He sees himself as a normal boring person, doing normal boring things in his life. Hell, even we see that Kurosawa thought of him that way too before he fell for him. Everyday is the same for him etc, at one point when Urabe-san, his senior, suggests dating Fujisaki-san, he instantly turns down the idea. Even after thinking abt it, he turns it down bcs he thinks it would be impossible ( to an extent ).

But despite all that, Kurosawa and the others genuinely think of him as an incredibly hardworking, reliable and kind colleague to have around their work place. Even though he used to pick things up through his mind reading powers, he does show that, even without it, hes still as kind and reliable.

The show is so amazing and im planning to watch the others ( eg. the movie, the manga, the anime?? ) because i just cant get enough of them!!

Also i cant do reviews for the life of me so this would be the longest you get out of me yet. I usually attempt to ramble a whole abt my fav shows or anything but whenever i try, my brain melts or get all woozy at the thought of them bcs I JUST LOVE THEM SO SO MUCHHHH !!!!
