Chase walks over to the bar, turning his head to look over his shoulder to the crowd. At least the was able to attend the rave this weekend since the first game of the season didn't start until the tenth.

He notices a dark-haired woman standing by the bar, a chuckle leaves him as he slips into the spot next to her, extending his knuckle out to her. "Cora," he smirks. "Fancy seein' you here. It's about time you came out of your cave of wonders and dreams to join society." He teases.

cora had gotten acquainted with charles a few years prior when he was hired by her manager to do bodyguard work for bigger, more high-profile events for the low-grade movie star. after getting hired in a popular superhero movie and upon the popularity said film, cora's film went through the roof and charles and her work relationship went from seeing him for big events to spending time with him more one on one, as it was rare for her not to be recognized where she went. the night prior, cora had offered her home to charles for an early morning shoot he was accompanying her to, but when he went home because he was going to spend time with a woman, cora could only assume the worst - he was dating someone else.

she didn't know when she had fallen for charles, but she did. and she thought he felt the same way too - needless to say, casually sharing he was dating another woman had the girl crying herself to bed and even feeling a bit angry when she heard that knock that meant the man was over. she went to the door, opening it slowly. "hey," she said a bit sadly, standing to the side so he could come in. "you're early."

“I completely understand.” Warren had done the exact same thing.

“Not against it, no. It just… well, not to sound dramatic or anything, but it brings up a lot of memories I don’t really want to remember.” Warren wrinkled his nose at that. He hoped the admission didn’t make him sound as pathetic as he felt.

"There was no waiting possible. Feelings needed to be eaten, and chocolate was readily available," Cora tells him with a chuckle, holding the boxes against her chest like they were a buoy. Money was no object. At least it wasn't right now, things might change if she didn't deliver on her next book. "Oh, really? Are you against romance or something?" @warrenxmelrose

One Piece where everything’s the same except Cora doesn’t die but Law’s still determined to absolutely beat the shit out of Doflamingo anyway. Cut to post Dressrosa where Law gets a VERY frantic phone call from Cora who’s like what the actual FUCK I saw the newspaper this morning you went up against Doffy all by yourself?? You promised me we would do this together you little SHIT do you have any idea how fucking scared out of my MIND I was when I saw the headline and I thought something happened to you, Law I swear to god, and Law’s like yes Cora I went up against him by myself, like HELL I was going to let him lay a single finger on you. And Cora’s like this conversation is NOT over but I’m so so glad you’re okay. And he starts crying and he’s like oh my GOD Law you know how insane Doffy is I could have lost you. And I wouldn’t have even known until after the fact. And Law goes all quiet and he’s like I know I’m sorry but I could have lost YOU and I couldn’t handle that. I couldn’t. And Cora’s sobbing and he’s like I love you so much Law and Law’s like yeah. I love you too 🥺

Meanwhile the Strawhats witnessed this entire conversation and they’re like. Wow okay that was a lot to unpack. Law’s got a dad and they’re very protective of each other and apparently his dad is Doflamingo’s brother?? And Law literally dismantled Doflamingo’s entire criminal organization and DIDN’T bother telling his dad about it?? No wonder he’s pissed. And they’re also like awwwww we’ve never seen Law so soft and vulnerable before 💕 and Law looks at them and he’s like. You repeat ANY of what you just heard and I WILL kill you. And they’re like ‘Mhmm okay yup we hear you loud and clear. Btw what’s your dad like’ with the BIGGEST shit eating grins and Law’s like Okay! Killing you now!! And proceeds to chase them with his katana

It was better than thinking that someone took a look at her and turned around. "Yeah, but fuck it. His loss." She replied with a shrug, taking a sip of her drink. "Curiously now though, what was the worst date you had that you wished hadn't shown up?"

"Not yet, but I can assure you there are times when I wish I had been post-date," Cora answers with a chuckle, glancing at the other woman. "Are you being stood up right now?" @theluzxacero

"That sucks." she admitted. It wasn't something she liked hearing about people -that with very few exceptions. "It was...messy and weird and... You know what, I cannot complain." she chuckled. And she shouldn't. Compared to other people, Nikki would be a total joke if she said she had a hard time.
