Closed Starter for @lucydriscoll Where? Oceania Bookshop
Riley ended up being free since she was off, thus meant.. finding something to do to make her day go by smoother and not drag on and on. She spent most of the day cleaning up in her house on Seabrook, even doing some gardening. She ended up realizing after a few hours, she was finished.
Huffing in an annoyed manner, she pondered on what she should do. "I hadn't picked up a book in a while.. maybe I should see what Oceania has to offer today.." she muttered. She didn't do much reading since she was more of the sporty.. outdoor person but she didn't mind reading every once and a while. Satisfied with her decision, she nodded in agreement with herself before she walked to the bookstore.
Once there, she wandered around, not really knowing what to look for, but hey.. it kept her busy. She grabbed a few, skimmed through the pages, read the backs but none hadn't really caught her attention. After she finished looking through one section, she took a few steps to move to another, her eyes going to a woman that looked oddly familiar just at a glance. Riley paused in mid step, leaning to the side to get a better look only to finally realize it was one of her high school friends, Lucy.
They were super close back then, but after Riley pushed everyone to the side.. she gave up on everyone's friendship.. she ended up turning bitter almost. It wasn't anything against her friends, she just had anger built up from what her sister did. After a few years went by, she knew she was lonely. She wanted to talk to some of the friends she had but felt like she didn't have the right.
Riley ended up staring longingly at the woman, eagerly even before she shook her head. Many thoughts went through her head. How much she had grown.. how pretty she was.. if she hated Riley, even though she knew that her high school friend didn't have a single hateful bone in her body. The panic of being hated was stuck in her brain. Rye knew she didn't need to try to get back into someone's life, especially after what she did? Not talking? Dropping everyone she knew? So she did what she did best. Just try to move on. And that's exactly what she did- or tried to, at least. She quickly turned her head and took a step again, bumping her side into the corner of the shelf and gasping rather loudly. "Shit. That hurt." she whispered, but it was loud enough to catch people's attention. Well, That was the opposite of what she wanted.. She knew she had to try to play it off now.
"Uh- Sorry." Riley began, rubbing where she hurt. "There's a bookshelf there." She added with an awkward giggle.
