Character Lineup for My Deltarune Chapter 3 Take
Tumblr media
NEW LIGHTNERS: Toriel: In the dark world, she is a powerful pyromancer! This is a first in a long time since she’s done anything engaging with Kris. She’s had her concerns about Kris for a while now, but this also feels like a great opportunity for her to understand her child. Will she take it?
Undyne: In the dark word, she’s now an ace detective! Just had her whole worldview flipped on her head and is loving it. But she’s still on her own investigation into who slashed the tires and caused this anomaly. Anyone who gets in her way will be beaten with a huge magnifying glass.
Napstablook: The Dr. Watson to Undyne’s Sherlock Holmes. Somehow, they got roped into helping Undyne investigate Toriel’s slashed tires. Now they’re just here for emotional support. Wait, is that mustache real?
NEW DARKNERS: Chairiel: She runs a cozy little shop in the sprawling desert of Dreamy Drylands. Anyone who enters her shop is greeted with a great big hug. She’s also got plenty of stories to tell!
Tenna: The shady director of Cathode Entertainment and the mayor of Back Stage City. He wasn’t always super mean and bossy, but nobody can figure out why he changed his ways.
C. Rook: The new producer and the head honcho of all the Shadowmen. He may or may not be the actual one responsible for why Cathode Entertainment has been turned upside down.
Lil’ Cutie Pie Once a beloved kids show star, she was forced to change jobs by Tenna to become a full-time chef. Her mood flips between cheerful to hateful constantly, and its got others wondering if her cutesy demeanor is all a facade.
Weather Duo: Always Sunny and Partly Cloudy have always been passionate about reporting the news and for each other. Ever since the recent changes, they’re no longer allowed to show their love when they work together. Maybe with some Lightner intervention, they can be a true couple again!
Mike: The loudmouthed ex-producer of Cathode Entertainment who’s currently on the run. He was once best friends with Tenna, but now is currently investigating into his sudden change in demeanor.
The Scareiff: He was once the star of his own show until someone, thought to have been a fan of his, got too close to him. When him and his show started going downhill, he was swiftly booted from the crew and his show was cancelled. Nobody knows where he is now, but it must be somewhere out in that desert.
(everything besides kris, susie, ralsei, and the weather duo were sprited/edited by me)

God how many tenna designs I am I going to go through until it looks right. Anyway I probably got the final design so here Aunt Tenna C. Rook. His name is two puns in one, even three if you switch it around. Plus Mike.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how Tenna is gonna be the Rook in Deltarune: Chapter 3? Tenna is our strongest lead for an antagonist, and the slang definition of a rook as "a swindler; a cheat" appears very likely to line up - there seems to be some foul play involved in Tenna's relations with Mike and Spamton. The thing is, though, it wouldn't fit the naming convention.
You see, both main antagonists so far are referred to by the game as nothing but the name of their respective chess piece. King is the King of Spades, and Queen's full name is "Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N." And yet, their names are just "King" and "Queen" in battle or otherwise. So, would Tenna be breaking this naming convention? Or is there just some clever workaround we're yet to figure out?
...C-rook-ed antennas? Anyone?
It's hard to try and think like Toby Fox.

Tenna C. & Novanna!
Tumblr media
It's time to talk about main antagonists in my Fun Town au!
Tenna C. and Novanna are rook duo, and their main objective is to find The Knight. They want to expand their dark world in order to have... More fun!
Unfortunately relationship between them is not that good. Tenna also strikes for power over all parts of Fun Town and Novanna is just a tool to achieve goals for him.
Tumblr media
Novanna (alt. Princess An) is a daughter of Queen (and technically Lancer's sister?), she is Asriel's computer in light world. She is acting like a typical weeb girl, but at the same time she is not careful with her actions, which may put others into dangerous situations. She wants to have more friends, and that's why she wants Fun Town to expand. She really relates to Susie.
... Also has a rainbow pony companion.
Tumblr media
Tenna C. (Chariot/Cathode) is a main antagonist of Fun Town au. Seems completely normal at first, but in reality Tenna is a psychopath. He finds torturing not only normal, but also very fun. Novanna is his adopted daughter. However, he cares more about his crew (Cathode's crew) than Novanna.
... Aand that's it for now! I'll be expanding them more of course, but I guess that gives a basic idea about who they are ;)

I’ve been getting a lot of love for The Scareiff recently, so I wrote down a lot of lore and ideas n’ stuff for you all.
HIS STORY:
The Scareiff was outstanding in his field of entertainment, enough so that he was the star of his own show. His show was called “Scareiff’s Saloon” which combined family fun with crazy spaghetti western action! The show was a hit, and he had plenty of fans. But then everything changed when someone, thought to have been a fan of his, got too close to him. His show and him started going downhill. He started messing up his parts, he made bad PR for himself, and he became a total mess. Shortly after C. Rook came into the picture, he was booted from Cathode Entertainment and his show was cancelled. Nobody knows where he is now. But he’s somewhere out in that desert, hoping an opportunity will come by where he can prove his worth again.
THE BATTLE:
They didn’t call him a sheriff for nothing. He was an expert with a pistol, and he performed all of his stunts. This expertise in the art of combat is why you most certainly need the Shadow Mantle. With such, you’ll be able to effortlessly deflect his shimmering bullets. Then you can find his whereabouts in Dreamy Desert, inside of a place called Ghost Town. Pacifying him grants you the Gleam Badge, a badge made out of pure hope.
Taking the more aggressive route makes The Scareiff impossible to find in Ghost Town. Instead he will try to hunt you down. He hopes that by turning in The Fun Gang to Tenna that that’ll get him his show back. As soon as you find the Shadow Mantle, he ambushes you. The battle with him is significantly harder in this route, even with the mantle aiding you. If you manage to strike him down, he still refuses to give up, as if his unwavering hopes are what’s keeping him going. It is this overwhelming hope that begins to turn him into a mess of TV static, withering him down until there is nothing left but his Shadow Crystal. In the process, he drops his gilded Fire-Arm, something you can equip to Toriel.
THEMES:
- Ghost Town
- Music that plays upon finding The Scareiff’s hideout
- Standoff
- Song that plays when The Scareiff is encountered
- DARN SHOOT’N
- Pacifist/Normal Route battle theme
- SERVIN’ JUSTICE
- Aggressive Route battle theme
- Cancelled
- Post-Agressive Route battle scene
QUOTE EXAMPLES:
* Y- Y’ALL’VE NEVER’RE SEEN MY SHOW BEFORE… ?
* WELL THAT’RE BE A DARN SHAME. Y’ALL’RE MISS’N OUT!
* Y’THINK’N SOME RAGGEDY OL’ CAPE’S GUNNA STOP ME???
* YOU SHOULD’VE STUCK’T TO YER’ GUNS INSTEAD!
* WELL I GOT MY OWN HOPE’S N’ DREAM’S TOO Y’KNOW!
* SO IT’D BE GREAT IF Y’ALL’D JUST’T. LET. ME. WIN.
OTHER THOUGHTS AND IDEAS:
- The Scareiff’s unwavering hope and refusal to back down in the Aggressive Route is meant to reflect the fight with Undyne the Undying.
- Continuing the theme of all the secret bosses being “trapped” in some way. Despite all of The Scareiff’s hopes, he is never able to overcome that feeling and return to normalcy. But he does try his best, and comes considerably closer than any of the other secret bosses in my lore for the game.
- There is no “friend” inside of The Scareiff. There’s only hope and straw in there. However, if you’ve been looking at any of my past posts, there still is a “friend” in my take on Chapter 3.
- The Scareiff rode a horse at one point that left him a long time ago. He misses him, but he does have a cool stick horse now!
- The Scareiff knows about the other secret bosses, much like how Spamton knows Jevil. He thinks the rest of them are a bunch of weirdos and suckers. He especially doesn’t like Spamton, who he thinks is lousy and incapable of doing anything for himself.

I figured at first that Tenna could be given the title of “Crook” and perhaps acts like a mafia boss of sorts in the TV world.
But what if Tenna’s full name in-game is Antenna and Rook is his last name?
If we write his name as first initial last name we get A. Rook.
Now if we want to get into full brainrot territory, what if there are multiple rooks in deltarune like in chess? There could be A Rook, B Rook, C Rook and D Rook. A whole mob family of Rooks. Now this is weird unbiased speculation and there can only be 2 rooks max per side so right now with the info we have been given multiple rooks is unlikely but not impossible.
