when i relistened to c1e100 i kept waiting for the "hardwon asks to live w moonshine at the crick" scene and id completely forgotten that it was like one of the last scenes of the whole episode. AFTER the 1 year timeskip, when theyre already in moonstone abt to have the anniversary jamboreen. it's after moonshine says she'll take mishka beverly pawpaw ii to the crick w her after the jamboreen is over. only then does hardwon audibly work up the nerve to ask to join her too. WHO LET THEM DO THIS 😭 are you telling me that they spent that whole year traveling around bahumia helping the world recover after thiala's calamity just not really talking abt what they'd do next. maybe moonshine just assuming that hardwon was going to head on back to irondeep, i mean he's finally gotten that acceptance from the dwarves he always wanted, he spent all that time during the 40 days before they fought thiala reconnecting w jaina and the other dwarves and helping rebuild irondeep and even met shivl. moonshine just casually saying stuff like "oh when you go back to irondeep" or whatever, trying not to show how the idea makes her feel, and hardwon hears this and thinks moonshine Wants them to go their separate ways after. also just tries to play it cool and doesnt say anything one way or the other. bc both of them both love each other so deeply but are also still afraid to take up space in each other's lives for fear that their love is unwanted. both of them just dancing around the topic of After Theyre Done Helping And Can Go Home whenever it accidentally comes up bc they dont want to think abt this special adventure when they wake up and go to bed together every single day as coming to its finale for the rest of their lives. of course they'll still be friends but it wont be the same when their lives become so far apart. but only then on the anniversary jamboreen day when theyre really staring down the barrel of it happening does hardwon finally find the nerve to ask if they can spend the rest of their lives together. bc his fear of rejection isnt as strong as his fear of losing her. the dwarves will always be his people but the crick people have also become his too. and more than that moonshine is his home. and moonshine embraces him w open arms, overjoyed just to have him w her, bc hardwon is her home too, just as much as if not more than the crick, and she was so terrified of losing him, this once in a timeless body lifetime person who loves the crick and other people and the world as much as she does, but now that hardwon's had the courage to ask to share his life w her, maybe she'll have the courage too someday to allow herself to take up space in his. im going to puke

You know I’ve spent a long time trying to replicate the feelings I felt when I finished C1E100 Heart of the World and Emily’s voice came in singing One Big Bed, and while it’s not quite the same I’ll say finishing C3E60 Peregrine and hearing Emily singing Home is Where the Hearth Is comes pretty darn close
