⚡️ DEADLINE MONDAY JUNE 24! ⚡️ BIG INK is visiting the @caccolumbus in Columbus, OH. CAC is opening their doors for a two-day event where large-scale woodblock plates will be printed on BIG INK's giant mobile etching press "The Big Tuna." BIG INK is seeking image proposals from artists who would like to carve a woodblock, at least 24" x 36" inches in dimension, to print at the event. Our program is geared towards all experience levels. Artists who wish to achieve a deeper understanding of printmaking are welcome to apply. Participants gain a greater sense of scale and produce ambitious work all while having the support and encouragement of their peers. Artists must first submit an image proposal for consideration. Those selected will have two months prior to the event to carve their woodblock design. Each artist brings a fully carved and ready to print woodblock on their assigned printing day. As a group, we work together to print each artist's woodblock during a public demonstration. All consumable materials including paper, ink, cleaning supplies, equipment, and photography of the finished work are included with participation. Participants are guided through the entire process by BIG INK. We provide a robust educational series which includes over 70 minutes of video instruction. BIG INK provides recommendations on pricing and exhibiting your finished work. We make ourselves available through phone and email if artists have questions. This event will be an excellent way to network with other participants and the public, visit an amazing creative space, and produce high-quality work that can later be used for sale and exhibition. *CALL FOR PROPOSALS* RE-ENACTING THE V2_ARCHIVE

For more than 35 years, V2_ has been a leading platform for radical propositions and experiments in art and technology. Its history has been carefully preserved in an archive that is publicly accessible through its website: www.v2.nl/archive. The archive is often consulted by historians and curators studying the development of technology-based art or particular aspects of it; now we are seeking proposals for projects that will reflect artistically on its contents by re-enacting specific works.

Whether a proposal brings into focus an iconic work produced by V2_ or highlights a lesser-known achievement from the margins of one of its public programs, it should aim to offer a new perspective on the original work by means of conceptual appropriation or technical revision using the knowledge and technology available today. Two proposals will be selected, and the artists will receive support in realizing the re-enactments in collaboration with V2_ and In4Art. The works created will be presented as part of V2_’s 2019 public program, and derivative works will be taken up in In4Art’s collection.
