Oh, it was a truly evil plan this one was! Why just thinking about it over and over again made him so giddy and excited like a pretty school girl! A true testament to his genius! He could see it happening in real time right now! His brother completely and utterly humiliated over the fact he came up and executed such a brilliant masterful scheme! His mother showering him with love and affection AND all the other villains in town talking about him...

What was only a constant dream during sleepy time was about to become a full reality! Nothing could stop him! Time for the second best part; announcing his plan! The first was obviously executing it correctly.

"It is finally time to....BLOCK OUT the sun! BUT..." A finger shot up as he paused for dramatic effect. It was so difficult holding back how excited he was to proclaim this. "...I will be doing so with my OWN NAME in big giant bold letters! Ha ha! Yes! The name CARL will literally loom over the entire town with its boldness! And look, I even went out of my way to make them glittery too. I mean, how could I not? Glitter just makes everything better!"

Yin Yang Yo! was the tv show I obsessed over before before My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This show had been around before I became an online artist. Although, that didn’t stop me from faving some fanart of this show on deviantart.

This is the first Microsketch since “My Least Favorite Idea”.

This is the first time any of the characters in this episode besides Peony and Noah appear in a Microsketch. This is also the first Microsketch featuring them both where they don’t play love interests, being married in “Medical Trauma” and playing parodies of Fred and Daphne in “Scooby Dooby Don’t”. As of this episode, Violet is ironically the only core character who has yet to appear in a Microsketch.

This is the first appearance of Ivan since “No Strings Attached”.

No violet family Drewmans appear.

Martin and Geneva were originally meant to appear as a wizard and a jester, respectively. The former was scrapped to postpone his next appearance, the latter was scrapped for space.

This is the first appearance of Sky’s recurring role as Katrina McLane, erroneously spelled “McLand” on her splash text. This is the first episode where Sky wears her hair up.

This episode features more references than any prior; the premise is a cross between classic Disney movies and dating shows. The character name “Forrest Greene” plays off the naming convention of “Snow White”; similarly, Veronica and Noah’s characters’ names are oblique plays on “Lancelot” and “Flynn Rider” (Noah’s costume is based off of his as well, riffing on how Forrest’s hair is done to resemble Rapunzel’s. The specific name “Fletcher Rhodes”, is also a Phineas and Ferb reference). Ingrid’s character name is a more direct reference to the name scheme of Carl the Evil Cockroach Wizard. Angie’s straight-up wearing a Charizard mask. Veronica directly quotes “A Whole New World”. Ivan references the Oregon Trail Studio C sketch. Katrina McLane is named partially for Chris McLean. The title itself is a clear Legend of Zelda reference.

The plume on Veronica/Claymore’s helmet is identical to Violet’s ponytail.

The episode was originally supposed to be a more direct Disney parody; that’s why Forrest specifically was cast.

Ironically, Veronica, Peony, and Forrest and Sky themselves are played by characters paired off with people outside the main cast.

This is the last Microsketch until the end of the volume’s A-plot.

This is currently my sister’s favorite episode of Volume One.

First Appearance: Some Random Scratches #40

Yin is skilled in the mystic ways, knocking out spells and energy rays. The younger twin sister to Yang, Yin is a fellow Woo Foo Student under Master Yo. She’s the smarter of the pair of siblings, so she excels in the mystical and technical side of Woo Foo. But when might and magic works as one, a villain’s plan can be undone. And for two seasons, they have done that by defeating Carl the Evil Cockroach Wizard, Ultimoose and two different Night Masters. By the series end, they found out Master Yo was their father and ready to continue their adventures.

And they do so in Scratch Space, where they haven’t seen as much action but are ready when the time calls. In the meanwhile, Yin gets to hang out with similar people on her level as she asks the creator to make the Hot Version of Coop.
