//i decided to finally take the roleplay thread we wrote out between these two posts here and here all the way back in december and format it into an actual fic people can read in case anyone wanted to see what happened between casi and amy back then!! if you want a little more bonus content for why these two are the way they are. just keep in mind this stuff would not be known in character. mind the suggestive content tag as while they dont do anything actually not safe for work here its heavily implied thats where things were going

:{ A Video file is embedded. Valencia Island, Orange Archipelago. 10/24/24 9:48 am. }:
The video starts rather abruptly, thrusting us into the midst of an argument between Casi and Professor Ivy. Casi storms around the large entryway of the lab, Ivy standing still and firing back responses to whatever the researcher has shouted. Occasionally we get a glimpse of the area around them, dusty and cluttered with miscellaneous items that appear to be placed there arbitrarily, as if the lab is running out of space to hold all it contains. When the microphone is close enough to pick up the conversation we begin to hear what the cause of the argument is.
"Rose and Miairu aren't dangerous! You must know that by now! They've lived here for a decade and have never harmed anyone." His voice is hoarse. It's clear that this argument has been dragging on for some time.
“Here I am able to rehabilitate them and prevent any damage that they may cause in the wrong hands.” Ivy remarks. “They would fare no better with Professor Amaryllis.”
“Well they certainly aren’t improving in a place like this!” To emphasize his point, Casi kicks one of the trash bags that littered the space. The living quarters had already filled up with miscellaneous garbage after the storm, and now had begun bleeding into the entryway. “How would anyone get better here? It’s a dump!”
A strange trap door opens up near Casi’s feet and a trio of Ivy’s assistants peak out. “Could you quit stomping around up there? We’re trying to get some work done.”
In response Casi lets out a growl of frustration and shoves her foot down onto the trap door, slamming it shut on top of them with a thunk. There's a muffled yelp from down below.
“Professor Ginkgo you can’t start slamming doors on people!” Ivy’s voice is cold but there's an undercurrent of anger that no guise of professionalism could possibly hide. “You expect me to believe that someone like you could do better when you can't even control your own outbursts? Do you genuinely believe that leaving two volatile pokemon in the hands of you two would be in anything but a disaster waiting to happen?”
“Casi-” The presence of Bellamy had almost entirely gone unnoticed until they spoke up, trying to get a word in between the two feuding professors and not making all that much headway. There is an energy in them that's hard to read, gripping and releasing the head of their cane and shifting their weight just slightly from heel to heel when not actively trying to put a hand on the pacing Casimir’s shoulder, to no avail. More than anything, though, they seem exhausted. The dark circles under their eyes and the heavy way they move betray the lack of sleep and overexertion they've been living with.
“They’re volatile because their needs aren’t met! Miairu isn’t causing trouble for no reason, she's a gengar, she’s sensory seeking! She’s bored!” Casi doesn’t even seem to notice Amy reaching out, turning on her heel and pacing the other direction. “And Rose isn’t playing with people’s emotions; she's struggling to maintain her own. If you put them in a proper environment and gave them the actual enrichment they need they’d get better instead of being stagnant for a decade!”
“And you believe that you are the ones to fill that need?” Ivy laughs, a dry, scoffing sound that practically radiates disdain. “Professor Amaryllis, the man that can’t even care for himself? And you, look at you. As volatile and unruly as either of those pokemon, you can not control your own emotional state and you intend on trying to control her? And what happens when Rose tampers with your emotions, pushes you past your already violent limits? Or when Miairu destroys expensive lab equipment and gets your employees hurt? No.”
The shorter man grits his teeth, taking intentional strides in Ivy’s direction. “I don’t believe you are any more qualified to decide that than either of us are. You continually blackmail my girlfriend and overwork them only to pretend that’s somehow their fault? Don’t you dare think you can talk down to me, Professor. You and I both know that I have more than enough experience in the field of caring for pokemon. Anything else is just an excuse. These pokemon do not belong to you in the first place!”
This seems to give Bellamy a pause and for the half of a breath of silence they blink and seem to almost freeze in their tracks. “...Girlfriend?” The quiet question and look of puzzlement cast towards Casimir is lost to anyone but the camera as Ivy quickly cuts them off.
“You think me unqualified, do you Casimir?” There's a moment's pause as she exhales through her nose before a thin, cold smile reaches across her face. “Then I suppose there's nothing else for it, is there. If I am not doing my due diligence, as you accuse me, and you both are so clearly woefully unequipped to care for such volatile pokemon, then it seems I must look for other avenues for their housing.” Her smile widens just slightly, her contempt barely hidden. “I’m sure there is some other facility that’s trained to handle such dangerous creatures.”
“What- No!” Amy for the first time in this video speaks up, their carefully held calm broken by the fear in their voice. “You can’t do that!”
That expression seems to set Casi off, he takes a final few steps before coming to stand directly in front of Ivy, his body still and his expression stony. The usual loud frustration gave way to something else, something much more serious, quiet, intense. “Professor Ivy, if you do that I will make the rest of your life a living hell. I can promise you that.”
Ivy’s face drops, her smile becoming something calculating and dark as she looks down on the man trying so hard to be intimidating. “Is that a threat, Casimir?”
Casi stands his ground, “Yeah. It is.”
There's a tension, a fire between the two professors as the video cuts to black.

Name's Casimir Ginkgo, but I'd prefer it if you referred to me as Casi when I'm off the clock. He and she pronouns can be used for me interchangeably in Unovan. I'm a professor but not in the way you're thinking, I don't do the whole giving kids first partner pokémon thing so please do not ask for free pokémon. My current work is focused on slowly reintroducing Sinnoh's native sneasels and sneasler to their original habitats. I tend to focus more on the breeding and conservation efforts.
There isn’t a true purpose to me blogging here, but I’m happy to share facts about my work and the pokémon I love so much. I've worked with not only the full sneasel evolutionary line, but many other closely related pokémon! In my free time I also study various myths and legends from different regions and collect replica pokeballs but those are more of side hobbies.
Originally from Celestic Town, Sinnoh and got most of my schooling in the region, but I transferred in my final year and got my degree from Uva-Naranja Academy in Paldea. Traveled a bit more and then ultimately settled back down in Paldea for about a decade. More recently I've set up a permanent lab facility just outside of Aspertia City, Unova! I speak Sinnohan, Unovan, Paldean, and some Kantonian. Though I've been told my Kantonian is pretty bad.
I'm polyamorous and have several partners, including my wonderful husband of 11 years! (You can thank him for helping with all the new layout stuff, by the way!) I talk about them and to them a lot. My husband does not have his own public blog and just signs off with his name through anons. No you aren't allowed to have his actual blog, he doesn't want anyone to bother him. He's always been more of the lurking type I suppose. My other partner is Professor Amaryllis, who unfortunately doesn't have a social media page either. Anywhere. Strange.
Some of my pokémon include:
Sneaks, Weavile, Male, Brave, Highly persistent
Basil, Meowscarada, Male, Calm, Is often lost in thought
Hotdog, Dachsbun, Female, Jolly, Loves to eat
Hemlock, Sneasler, Male, Hardy, Is somewhat stubborn
Bell, Shuppet, Female, Hasty, Somewhat of a clown
Indigo, Charmander, Male, Naughty, Likes to bite
Arlene, Meowth-Alolan, Female, Naughty, Mischievous
All pokémon making appearances on my blog will be tagged with their name and species. Ex. Sneaks the Weavile

// Hi hello my name is Reese! He/they only please when referring to me. I've been here a couple years now but I decided to revamp the look of this pin and make it way longer for no good reason. I have a new hub blog which you can find [here]. Not all of my interactions come from there since Casi's blog is attached to my main, but I've been trying to keep most of the interactions from there. If you have OOC questions, you can contact me there.
I keep most of the more intense subject matter with Casi relegated to larger, more diligently tagged posts, but there will be some discussion of mental illness, trauma, organized crime, and the repercussions of surviving multiple apocalypses. I'm going to try and tag all sensitive topics with #cw [topic] but I may forget occasionally, feel free to remind me in my inbox. Casi is a rather dishonest character, despite claiming and trying not to be. Don't trust everything he says in regards to himself or his relationships with others.
No pelipper mail/pelipper malice, musharna/darkrai mail(?), magic anons, eebydeeby blogs, crossover blogs, self-insert blogs, or crack rp without discussing it with me ooc first. Do not ask Casi for any real world advice. Thank you for understanding.
As a bonus for reading this section here's the art for Casi's team that I'm working on commissioning. I don't have a ton of money to go to commissions right now, so I'm accumulating these slowly. When the full team is finished I plan on making a little graphic of them all together to replace the boring list format. Please support the artist of these if you have the money to spare, they've been lovely to work with! I also have the full art piece that is used in the banner and was in the original pinned, with a link to that artist's Bluesky.

:{ A Video file is embedded. Goldenrod Ecological Society, Johto. 4/13/24 12:00 pm. This transcription translated from Johtonian to Unovan using Poryphone™ translation technology!! }:
The office is quiet as the video opens, the sounds of breathing and the faint sounds form the busy city outside the window trickling in. The place is, to put it kindly, a mess. Papers are scattered across the floor among the scattered books and clothes and pokemon toys, looking much like a hurricane ran through the small space.
Slinky the arbok takes up most of the space on the couch where we first expect to find Amy, and as Echo pans down we can find the resting place of the professor, entombed by the fuzzy weight of five small sleeping pokemon on the floor.
That may well be the best description, entombed, as the professor looks… bad. Despite being clearly awake they simply stare blankly up at the ceiling, fidgeting with a small dark object in one hand. There are deep bags under their eyes and they look like they haven't slept in weeks, stress and tension clear in his muscles.
The silence is abruptly broken by the strange jingling tune of the videophone on Amy's desk, startling a few of the pokemon pile and pulling a grumbling noise from the professor themself. Grabbing their cane from beside them they clumsily tap the videophone up on the desk, activating the voice-only function.
"What is it, what's wrong?" they almost sigh out exhausedly.
"Oh! um, there's a Casimir Ginkgo here for you? She- sir? Sir you cant just go until I get per- She's already in the elevator professor."
"Fuck-" Even as they continue they sit up, setting a couple of the pokemon on them tumbling backwards, reaching for their clothes. "Thank you, jut let him up it's fine."
As they get to their feet and deactivate the videophone we hear a string of johtonian curses before the feed cuts.

:{ I'm back!! :3c A Video file is embedded. Valencia Island, Orange Archipelago. 4/14/24 8:00 pm. }:
It seems that we find ourselves more inland in this video, the rocky sharpness of the beach has given way for the dense foliage on one side of the path and a steep drop off on the other, the ocean glittering in the setting sun. Tropical plants mingle with more standard hardwood forest in an interesting and diverse display, and strangely orange-winged butterfree can be seen up in the trees settling down for the night.
The cobblestone pavement and neat brick walls around the only building in this place stand out in this seemingly otherwise deserted island, an enormous, multi story white stone building that reflects the beautiful reds and oranges of the sunset. It's almost intimidating in the dimming light, and in the courtyard in front of it stands a single woman, her plum colored hair and white lab coat standing out against the warm colors of the scene.
Amy and Casi seem to have walked quite a ways to get to this point, a little out of breath and weary from both that and the long ride to the island, though they seem for a moment to be in good spirits before noticing the woman before them as they approach the lab. There's a shift in Casi then, and he seems to tense up a bit, holding Amys hand and pulling in close to her even as Amy approaches the new person. It doesn't seem exactly professional, more... possessive maybe, or angry perhaps. Still, both professors have a smile- one more visibly forced than the other- as Amy speaks.
"Professor Ivy, It's nice to see you!" Despite Amy's visible physical exhaustion it would be hard to read that in their voice, and as they approach they seem to be genuinely happy to see this person.
The professor seems... less enthused. She smiles politely, but the thinness of her lips and the way she glances over the two of them, lingering on the smudges on the professor's skin, sends a slightly different message even despite her friendly enough voice. "Bellamy. This is a bit of a surprise, I wasn't aware that you were bringing a... friend. We don't have all that many extra rooms in the lab."
"Ah, I apologize, I was a bit caught up in recent events and wasn't able to update you. Let me introduce you. This is my colleague, Casimir Ginkgo. You might know his research into sneasel gen-"
"Professor Ginkgo will be fine. And I'm also his boygirlfriend. So no need to worry about extra rooms, I'll be perfectly happy sharing, and Amy's had no problem with that in the past so I don't see any issues coming up." Casi's voice is... polite is probably the word, though he seems to be having just a little bit of trouble keeping it there.
"... Right. I'm sure that that won't be a problem then. I'm sure you had no trouble getting to the Island, Bellamy, and your usual quarters are there for you as always. I'm sure that-"
It's at this moment that the tenseness of the scene is interrupted. With a strange sort of popping noise and a soft flash a pokemon appears- A Gardevoir, her dark blue coloration and glimmer to her fur marking her as a shiny. She seems excited, none of the usual stoicism of the species as she hugs Amy, clearly knowing them well. It seems for a moment she may be... saying something? It's hard to tell, telepathy doesn't pick up on a microphone..
"Yes, yes, I'm sorry, I know it's been longer than usual. I'll make it up to you I promise." Amy laughs gently as the pokemon pulls away, softer in their tone but still looking just so, so tired. Rose seems to pick up on this, and then something else, and concern sweeps over her expression for a moment but before she has the chance to express any of it she notices the smaller professor.
"Rose! Oh you've gotten so much taller! You're taller than me now, I remember you as that little kirlia... I've missed you." All of the tension, all of the thinly veiled contempt falls away from Casi as she steps forward, a genuine joy in her voice as she takes the hand of the much taller pokemon.
There's a pause here, Rose looking at Casi in what can only be described as stunned silence, or at least what might be silence, before she pulls her hand away and steps back in what looks like anger. "Look, I know it's been a long time, and I'm sorry for that, but-" Casi doesn't have the chance to finish his sentence before with another flash, another faint pop, Rose is gone once again.
"... I didn't know where you were.." Casi's voice is quiet in the new absence talking almost to herself as she looks at the empty space where rose had stood. There's a pause, just a moment where no one speaks before Amy puts a hand on her shoulder. Her expression is hurt, a little unsure of where to go as she turns to Amy.
"Just give her some time. She'll come back and then you can try to talk to her. But it needs to be in her own time. It's a lot for her. It was a lot for all of us... Let's just go in." Their soft voice cuts through the silence, and Casi nods, lacing her fingers through Amy's own.
They head towards the lab as the last dregs of light trickle off into the ocean, the long shadows casting darkness over the courtyard. For just a moment Professor Ivy hangs back, watching the two professors, eyes just slightly narrowed and head just tilted.
"...Interesting."

:{ A Video file is embedded. Valencia Island, Orange Archipelago. 4/14/24 7:30 pm. }:
This video opens mid scene- we're in an unfamiliar place, a pier built off of a rocky beach. bright green plants and grasses grow in between the cracks of the shoreline and odd, dark colored rattata can be seen peeking out from their cover here and there. The focus of this scene, however, is the seaplane pulled up close to the dock, and the two professors stumbling out of it.
Casi has already managed to climb down the few ladder-like stairs that connect the gently rocking plane to the relative stability of the dock and is holding Amy's hand as they struggle a bit to do the same, their cane not so helpful in this endeavor. It's obvious that they weren't taking the flight all that well to begin with, their hands shaking a bit and looking more stressed than they usually are somehow.
Casi, however, seems to be taking all if this in good humor, and while we can't hear exactly what she's saying from the distance that echo's moved to take in the whole scene (the sound of the ocean crashing and the motor of the plane is a bit to loud for that) it's clear from her gently teasing tone and the laughter they manage to pull from even Amy that the whole scene is more than a little funny to her... and the bright purple lipstick smudges that Amy has obviously tried and failed to remove- the ones that match her lipstick exactly- probably add to that humor.
It's easy to see the visible relief that Amy has as he finally steps down off of the pier, a deep sigh and closing their eyes for a moment, leaning heavily into their cane while they try to feel grounded again. It takes only a few moments for the pilot to hand them their bags- well, for their drowzee to telekinesis them down onto the pier anyway- pull up the ladder and start to pull away. Seems like they (we??) aren't planning on leaving again right away...
Casi seems to ask a question, pulling out his phone and checking something on the screen. Amy starts to answer, pauses, then checks their pockets, becoming more and more frantic over a couple seconds before looking back at the plane, then around them. Their eyes settle directly on the camera and an exasperated kind of relief washes over them as they sign something to-
:{ To me!! ':3 Looks like i wandered off too far!! Oops, gotta go!! Translation Ends. }:
