part 1
part 1.5
part 2
part 2.5
"Are you—un-fucking-believable," Ellie spits, hand raking through her hair and chucking her phone to the floor. "They're taking my fucking money. My fucking money."
"What? What's happening?" you ask, now watching from your bed as she paces back an forth across your rug.
"They're lowering my fucking cut. Fucking—Jesus, these fucking dicks. I don't know what to do." she says, bending down to pick her phone back up.
"Why would they do that? Is there a...reason, at least?"
"I—shit, probably? They didn't say exactly. Just said it was a 'reputation issue'. Whatever that fucking means." Ellie sighs. She sits back down on the bed. She then speaks again, but quieter.
"They're just mad I don't wanna be their fuckin' show monkey. I shut that bullshit down right away."
"...What do you mean?" you ask.
"They wanted to...basically brand me as the 'club dyke'. Wanted the announcer to say like, all this weird shit when I got up to the ring. Wanted to name a fuckin' drink after me. It was called, like, 'Lady Lover's Special' or something fuckin' stupid like that. I told em' no."
"Oh—well I'm glad you said no. That's...fucked up, of them." you tell her, eyes focused on hers.
"I know. But I—" her phone pings, and she must know just by the sound who it is, as she picks it up to check the message immediately.
Her face pinches, eyes darting across the screen as she reads.
"They're saying—they're saying if I do this fight...tonight, then they...won't lower it. Huh." She finishes, eyes scanning the words a couple more times.
"That seems...manipulative. I feel like they just wanted you to do this fight the whole time." you say skeptically.
"Yeah, obviously. They're fucking snakes. Stupid ones, though." She says, bouncing up off your bed and pulling her coat around herself. "I'm gonna do the fight."
"What—seriously? They basically forced you!" you argue, reaching upwards and pulling back on her sleeve.
She exhales a long breath, before taking your hand and placing it back on the bed. Her face moves close to yours, gently and kindly.
"I need the money, ok? And—" she pauses, eyes lighting up like she just remembered something. Her lips break into a subtle smile. "you'll be there, won't you? I'm in good hands."
You turn your head, cheeks heating, and try to remain impartial.
"Ellie, you don't even...know who you're fighting. That by itself is a—a monumental-sized risk."
"It doesn't matter who I'm fighting, princess." She assures, both hands now cradling at the base of your neck. Her voice gets low and calm next to your ear.
"I'm fuckin' undefeated. It's gonna stay that way."
---------------------------------------------
Seeing Ellie fight was...intense. Her body is wicked, a cord of muscle that rips through the ring. She's springy. A curated whip of strength, and far more resilient than you thought would be humanly possible. It was difficult to follow her movements, her jabs, cuts, kicks, and everything else, as they were done with impeccable speed.
And yet, through the chaos of this combat, you remember distinctly how her eyes would meet yours, finding you amidst the crowd. Talking to you wordlessly. Reassuring you. Before she'd enter the fight once again, deftly averting her gaze from yours and body thrusting itself strategically into battle. She was a predator, simply put. And you saw the brutal effects of it once the fight was over.
-----------------------------------------------
"I'm still—fuck—still—ow, fuck—"
"Ellie. Stop moving." you chide, hands having to maneuver her head straight again.
"Undef—I'm undefeated. Number one. I'm—mmph—number one. I'm still one." she hazily mutters, head lolling to one side.
"Shut up! I can't do this when you keep talking!" you exclaim, hands frantically dressing the wound across her cheek.
Her body keeps moving, jerking, pushing, and you physically just aren't strong enough to counter it. Her hands have found their place on your shoulders, clutching them as her own stability varies wildly.
"They said...they were gonna—ow, ow! fuck—they were—they couldn't even—" she rambles, fingers tightening their grip.
"Ellie. Stay still. And calm down." you bark, hips inching closer between her thighs. She's sat atop the dingy counter of the club bathroom, while you stand tucked under her figure.
A warm, bellied laugh escapes her before she plops her head into your neck without warning.
"Mmmm okay, princess. I'll be—I'm—I'm still. I'm still. M'sorry doc." She whispers, breath fanning your skin lightly.
"No, no, no, pick your head up. You have to stay awake."
"But I'm—I'm tired. And—" she drags her nose a bit, trailing bits of blood and sweat. "you smell so good here." she murmurs fuzzily, hands slowly traveling down towards your waist.
You quickly wipe your neck with the back of your hand, pushing Ellie's head back upright.
"I'm gonna try and do this as fast as I can, okay?" you say, starting to fumble with the packaging of your needle. Ellie's hands were still groping around the back of your body through your clothes.
"You were—you wore this. At Dina's party," she breathes, not even noticing your hands preparing the suture. Her eyes are unabashedly gazing at your chest. "that was a goooood party." she adds, smiling to herself.
Your skin burns, and you feel your eyes desperately avoiding hers.
Your focus moves back to her forehead, where your hands have moved to hover steadily over her wound.
"This is gonna hurt Ellie. But you can't move." you say quietly, waiting for her response.
She closes her eyes, just taking in shaky breaths for few moments.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Jus do it already."
With that, you start to stitch up her cut, fingers nimble and tedious.
She groans at the pain, hands fisting in the fabric of your clothes, and legs jerking inwards. You let her, simply continuing your motions as her body reacts.
"Ow—Christ, princess, that fucking—fuck!"
"I know, I know. I'm almost done. Like, two more stitches." you rush, eyes starting to water and wrists starting cramp. Ellie only huffs a sigh, forehead slippery from sweat.
Your mouth parts open as you delicately tie off your last suture, hands now clammy and sore. You step back to look at your work, honestly not caring if it was mediocre. It was still better than anything Ellie would've tried to do by herself.
"Ok! Ok! All done!" You breathe, placing a square of gauze on her temple.
"Oh—thank you. Thank you princess. I'm—you're...you're really good." she drawls out, eyes heavy and dazed.
She abruptly slumps forward a bit, leaning all of her weight onto you and wrapping the whole of her arms around your waist. She squeezes even harder, a level of strength almost abnormal considering how beat up she is.
Oh, you think. She's hugging me.
You can't help but lightly giggle, seeing Ellie in such a strange state of mind. Her ego shines through, of course, but there's a vulnerability that makes you feel even warmer. You start to feel the vibrations of her throat as she speaks.
"I think I—I think I fight better...with you here." she says softly, fingertips pressed into the small of your back.
"Yeah?" you laugh. "I don't know about that..."
"You're the only one who's—who's actually wanted to see me. I know about that." she retorts, hot breaths coming briskly at your neck.
"But I thought like—Dina and everyone, they know, don't they?"
"Mhmm. They know. But they don't come here. Not—not like you did." she says lowly.
You move back, a little too warm, and try to look Ellie in the eyes.
"I...didn't know that. I'm glad I was here though." you say, a small smile shaping your lips.
"Yeah, I mean—me too, obviously. I can—man, I can always count on you. I can't believe I fuckin'...forgot about that." she mumbles, grin slowly widening.
Your eyes open larger, and you freeze a touch, her words recalling a part of your friendship you didn't know she had noticed.
In highschool, all you'd ever wanted to do was make Ellie like you. You'd let her rant all her fiery anger over a fight with Cat, remaining polite and helpful and understanding. You'd listen to the songs she'd listen to, hate the ones she didn't. She'd tell you her theories about the stars, and you'd let it change the way you see the sky at night. You were a lost puppy, unintentionally giving Ellie your leash. You didn't realize any of it until years later.
"I was..." you look around, searching for the right words. "I was kind of obsessed. In highschool."
She looks up, eyebrows pinching.
"With me?"
"I—yes? You couldn't tell?"
She scoffs, face dramatically contorting in shock.
"Fuck—no, I couldn't. You were always...texting that...guy."
"And I broke up with him. Because of you." you say, color rushing across your cheeks.
Ellie blinks, eyes wide, just staring. Her mouth opens, and closes, before she finally starts saying words again.
"But didn't—hold on. Did I...turn you gay?"
You roll your eyes, mouth flattening.
"I don't think that's how it works. But you probably...made it happen faster, I guess." you say, voice trailing off towards the end.
She stays silent, lips pressed in thought. The hands around your waist, which hadn't moved in while, start to fidget and tense in their place.
"You know what? I see it. It actually—it makes a lot of sense."
"...Yeah?" you question, head shifted away from her gaze.
"Like—the way you'd always freeze up if I tried to draw you. Or all that...shit you'd try and say about Cat. You were just—super jealous, weren't you?" she laughs, pulling you closer.
Ellie seems to have regained her consciousness fully, you notice, the lively color of her face having returned as well.
"I—not super, just a...normal amount." you mutter.
"It's okay, princess. I think it's—cute. Little you, all fed up. Just wanted me so bad, huh?"
"No. I barely knew more than you did. I was mostly just confused." you protest. "Can you stand? I'd like to leave this nasty bathroom."
"Yeah, I'm good." she says, hoisting herself off of the counter.
Her arm snakes around your shoulder, using your body to lean against.
"I'm staying with you tonight. If you have a concussion I can't let you fall asleep." you tell her, almost overwhelmed with her smell so close to your face.
"Oh—shit." she blurts. "My place is a fuckin' mess right now."
As it turned out, Ellie was not lying.
Her place, a grungy apartment just on the edge of town, was a wreck. Clothes, garbage, various envelopes and papers scattered the floor. Her kitchen was bare, neat and dusty from the lack of use. You wondered how many people had actually seen her place.
You let her walk you both to the couch, before she plops herself down onto it with a hefty sigh. She sits for a moment before looking up at you, gesturing to the cushion next to herself.
"Well? You gonna sit?" she asks.
You don't respond, simply let yourself fall into the seat, Ellie's arm already sprawled out and waiting for you. She yawns loudly before turning to you.
"I really can't fuckin' sleep?"
"I mean..." you bite the inside of your cheek, contemplating. "you probably don't have one? So...you can sleep. I might just wake you up once to check on your symptoms."
She groans comfortably, spreading out on the couch and kicking her legs forward. Her arm tightens around you, shuffling you into her side. She grabs a blanket from behind her, straightens it out, and throws it over the both of you.
The layer feels nice, warm and heavy, and you find yourself feeling more exhausted as the minutes tick by. You lay your head upon Ellie's chest, memorizing the sounds of her heart. Her voice resonates lowly as she speaks.
"...Did you actually like being there?" she asks you, tone uncertain and quiet. "I don't blame you if it's too much to watch."
"No I—I did like it. Honestly. It was hard not to look away." you assure her, softly breathing across her shirt.
"Ok. Good. I wanted to make sure. I...I really want you there again next week."
"I will be then." you say, eyes casting a glance up to meet her own.
She had already been staring.
"Goodnight, y/n." Ellie murmurs, her focus on you not breaking for a second.
"Yeah, goodnight." you say, forcing your eyes shut and melting into the heat of Ellie's body.

Dear Author,
I wanted to say thank you so much for providing me with tears of happiness and sadness. You're such an amazing person, and when I get notifications that you posted, I genuinely smile. I hope you realize how happy you make so many people, and I just wanted to show my appreciation for you. 🫶🏾🫶🏾 Please don't forget to put yourself first. You're not a machine, and sometimes people can (be assholes) not appreciate you as much as they should despite how much you do for them, so don't hesitate to take a break if needed. Anywho, I wanted to let you know that you're loved and appreciated if not by anyone else by me.

part 1
part 1.5
part 2
Another meek chime rings out from your bed, calling to you, forcing you to slam your textbook shut out of frustration.
You’d been studying for maybe four hours at this point. It was far past dark, the sky now an opaque charcoal. Your eyes are aching. Your back is sore. It was time to take a break.
You hop on your bed, body weight causing it to gently bounce you up and down a few times.
You click your phone on.
New message from (+14556768854)
New message from (+14556768854)
Image from (+14556768854)
New message from (+14556768854)
New message from (+14556768854)
You hesitantly open it up, eyes squinting and head shunned like it might be something unsavory.
(+14556768854)
hey
can u tell me if this looks serious
IMG_5354 [Click to Download]
pls respond
y/n
Your heart lurches.
These texts were from Ellie.
Instantly on edge, and you frantically poke the image link to see it, tapping it repeatedly as if that would speed it up. It buffers, agonizingly, and you prepare yourself to see a grotesque and mangled amalgamation of colors in the next few seconds.
It finally loads.
You scan it quickly, studying and prodding the image with your eyes.
Your mouth flattens.
It’s…just a picture of her flexing.
Your thumbs type at an alarming speed.
that was not fuckijng funny
You throw your phone back at your mattress, deciding to ignore whatever nonsense Ellie will respond with.
It chimes immediately.
You regretfully pick it back up, still angry, and open to read what she says.
lol
“…Fucking stupid…” you mutter, already typing at your response.
im serious
thats not why i gave u my number
ok
why then
You roll your eyes, memory already recalling a couple of days ago, where you very clearly and very obviously told her why.
for emergencies
or if u need me for something important idk
i dont wanna see your thirst traps
You knew that last part was a lie before you even typed it out. That picture she sent was not what you were expecting, but it still turned your insides to mush. It still had you a bit uneasy, nauseous even. Ellie had power over your body like that.
hmmm
i have an emergency
really bad one
You wait on her answer, skeptically, watching those three dots dance around in circles.
im hungry
You let out a sigh.
Then you click your phone off, throwing it elsewhere, and dejectedly gazing at the textbook sitting on your desk. Your professor would want you to, right?
Your phone interrupts you again, noisily snatching your attention with its sounds and jostling your focus from the book.
The sounds don’t stop.
Fuck, you think. Your phone is ringing.
You jerk to pick it up, fingers fumbling it, until finally you’re able to click ‘answer’ and bring it to your ear.
You’re quiet, hoping Ellie will speak first.
“Hi.” a voice says, and you quickly connect that it’s just Ellie’s, sleep riddled and raspy.
“…Hi.”
“So…what’d you think?”
Your eyebrows crease.
“Of what?”
“'Of what?' Of my fuckin’ progress, that’s what! Anthony has me eating, like, six whole chickens a week.” she boasts.
“Oh. I didn’t really…see?…I guess? I don’t know…”
“I mean—I’ve gained almost 30 this year.”
You remain confused. Is that a lot…?
Ellie must understand your silence for what it is and continues.
“Pounds, princess. Muscle. I’m getting fuckin’ huge.”
Oh.
“Okay—I got it now. Um…congrats, then.”
“What, that’s it? That’s all you got for me?”
“I—I don’t know!” you defend, voice coming out a bit louder and higher. “Your muscles look—like, big, all the time! I can’t tell the difference!”
She laughs loudly into the receiver, and you can’t help the smile you wear, hearing it so amplified in your ear.
“You need more pictures? I got more pictures.” she assures.
Simultaneous with her voice, you feel the sharp vibration and hear the dingy chime of your phone.
“Just took that one. You should look at it.” she adds, tone low but casual.
You deeply blush, feeling exposed despite being so alone in your bedroom.
“…Okay.” you agree, sliding the phone off your face to open it up.
A mirror reflection of Ellie’s back fills your screen, stretched and taut into a flexed pose. Her arms are out beside her head, clenched impossibly tight, in effort to completely portray her physique. Your eyes flick down, noticing in the image that she’s wearing only boxers.
She just took that picture?
The air in your room feels warmer, hotter than ever, so you strip down to a tank top and underwear. It feels wrong, almost. Talking to Ellie with this much skin showing. Her not knowing.
“Hello? You there?” Ellie loudly repeats over the speaker, audio fuzzy and weak.
You grasp your phone back up, stuttering out a response.
“Yeah—yes, here. I’m here.”
“'Kay. Your turn.”
You almost drop the device completely.
“My turn?”
“Fair’s only fair, right?”
“…Ellie…” you protest, skin burning with even the idea of her seeing you.
“C’mon, please? I took mine already, you can’t go back.”
You say nothing, whole body sweating, hoping and praying she’ll just forget about it.
“…I wanna see you.” she admits, voice warm and fuzzy through the speaker.
Your cheeks erupt red, a sense of burning flowing throughout your whole body at her words. You curl up, thighs squeezing at themselves, and try to answer.
“But—I’m…I’m in…pajamas.” you whisper, looking down at your bare legs and sheer top.
“You are? Even better.”
“I—I don’t know—”
“You really don’t have to. I’ll live, princess. I promise.”
Your body relaxes entirely, a breath of pure relief leaving your lips, as well as a forceful yawn. Ellie must’ve heard it through the phone.
“Aww—you tired? Should I hang up?”
“No! Don’t hang up! I want to keep talking! I was studying before so I’m a little—a little out of it but—”
“Nope. I’m hangin’ up. Princess needs her beauty sleep.”
“What—no, Ellie.” you argue, albeit lazily, as the energy you have left is truly running low.
“I’ll be here in the morning, won’t I? Good-niiiight—” she lulls, drawing out the last word.
“No! Don’t hang up! Ellie!”
On the other end of the phone, there’s only quiet.
An abyss of silence.
“…Ellie?” you try, voice small.
Nothing.
Your mouth purses, frustrated, as you listen to the absent noise through the speaker.
Still nothing.
You flip over, hostilely pulling the comforter over yourself and crashing your head into the pillow. You feel cold, but you know an extra blanket or some layers wouldn’t make you any warmer. Only she could.
Before you can shut your eyes, the chime sporadically rings out again, and you find yourself rapidly grasping the phone from your mattress.
Immediately you unlock it.

dont let the bed bugs bute

call you tomorrow
Your eyelids finally shut, the weight of the day keeping them closed indefinitely. Your limbs go lax, succumbing to exhaustion.
You permit yourself to fall asleep, now knowing fully, that you will have the sweetest of dreams.

hit me, part 2
wc: 2.5k, largely unedited warnings: swearing/language, talk of homophobia, physical injury a/n: omg hey. this part takes place directly after part 1. things are starting to happen...!also idk shit about shit so don't come at me for the medical stuff if its wrong :) tags: @elliewilliamsmunch@intrnetdoll@me-and-your-husbandur-husband@3zae-zae3@milahnoz@elliescumm@dragonasflowercrown
part 1
part 1.5
"So...where are we going?"
"It's a clearing. In the woods." Ellie's hands lazily slide around the steering wheel as she speaks. You could daydream while staring at Ellie for hours. It's relaxing to watch her drive.
"Hm. Are you gonna...kill me there? Or something?" You joke.
"Still deciding."
"Oh my—are you seriously still mad?"
She says nothing, pretending to be engaged with driving.
You let out an irked breath.
"Okay—Ellie, I'm sorry. I was wasted out of my mind. And you look really different. Like, not just in your face. Everywhere is different." You confess, fiddling with the stickers peeling off of her dashboard.
"So do you. I still managed to fuckin' figure it out."
"I—I think I almost did? I remember looking at you and feeling really—confused, mostly. I didn't understand why I liked this stranger so much." You say, vaguely remembering how clingy and overt you acted last night.
"You were confused? I was fucking confused," her head swivels to yours. "a lesbian? That's what you are now?"
"Don't—don't say it like that. I came out like everyone else. You just weren't there to hear it."
Ellie lets out a choked laugh.
"Oh, Bullshit."
"Excuse me?"
"I wrote you and called you for fucking months. Nothing. A letter a fucking day. Are you listening? Do you know how many letters that is?"
You stay silent. Your hands ball up where they rest on your lap.
"Fuckin' say something! I even asked Dina for your number but you cut her off too! Is there a reason you basically fucking died?"
"I wasn't home, Ellie."
She stills, her shoulders relaxing a touch. She adjusts back towards the road before clearing her throat.
"At...at sixteen? What happened?"
You recall you, sixteen, sobbing and frantic. Tearing apart the letter Ellie wrote to tell you that she left. Wondering why it felt more like a breakup then your actual one did. Cursing yourself over and over and over again for only being sixteen. Your parents cursing Ellie for corrupting you.
"I feel like you can connect the dots." Your voice is just barely loud enough to hear over the droning tone of the car. The only focus you had at this point was trying not to cry in front of Ellie.
"Oh, fuck, y/n. I'm—I'm sorry. Did those fuckers kick you out?"
"No," you sigh. "I just knew I had leave. They're...crazy. I don't know. I'm fine now."
Her knuckles flex and tense over the steering wheel. Her teeth start to bite at her lips. There's a couple more seconds of quiet before she speaks up.
"I wish I would've been there."
You pause, not totally expecting what she said.
"Yeah," you breathe, gazing at the side of her head. "I wished that too."
And that wasn't a lie. Your family instilled a lot on you, mostly turning you away from religion. But then? You were desperate. Painfully, achingly desperate. And completely alone. After you left home, you prayed every single night. A genuine prayer, on your knees and everything. You even bought a $1.50 pocket bible from goodwill. All to aide in your bedtime routine of begging God to make Ellie come back.
She never did. You've been an atheist ever since. You weren't sure if her being here now changed anything.
The silence marinates for a short while longer until you feel the rocky texture of a gravel road beneath the car.
"We're here," Ellie states, throwing the gear in park. She takes a glance at your feet. "and you should've worn better shoes. We have walking to do."
You both hop out of the car.
"Like you couldn't have told me before we left?" You scoff.
"It's more fun to fuck with you later. C'mon," she grabs your hand, tightly clutching it in hers. "there's coyotes and shit around here. Don't be fuckin' stupid and stay close."
You try to will the warmth away from your cheeks. You've never held Ellie's hand before. Even if this doesn't really count as holding.
"Yeah, got it." You force out.
She leads you into the trees, hand warmly on yours, briskly following a mental path she's clearly walked many times.
"I almost got arrested over here," She sighs, far too casually.
"What?!"
"Damn—I said almost, chill." She assures, laughing at your shock.
You lightly slap her shoulder.
"I don't care! Almost getting arrested is still crazy!" You chide, eyes wide and judgmental.
Ellie's always been pretty...rebellious, but a part of you always thought that she'd be smart enough to avoid anything truly consequential. I guess she still is, you think.
"Lemme explain, ok. I was high as fuck, minding my business, when I saw some kids shootin'—a wolf, I think? Maybe a coyote—I saw them just...fuckin' up this poor thing with a—a BB gun."
"Oh my god..." You say, "What did you do?"
"I didn't do shit at first—I thought they'd stop. But they were like—about to kill this thing, I swear to God. So, I...ha..." Her face breaks into a wide smile. "you're not gonna like this,"
"...What. Not gonna like what."
"I pulled my gun on 'em."
"Ellie!"
"It wasn't even loaded, y'know I like to have it with me just in case..."
"They're kids!—"
"Asshole kids. Ok? And it fuckin' worked so—"
"I thought you said you almost got arrested?"
"Jesus—I did. You keep interrupting me—"
"Sorry." You quip, also realizing you just interrupted her with your apology.
"It's—it's fine. Anyway, those fucks called the cops on me after they ran. I found out cause the fuckin' pigs stopped me and asked if I'd seen an 'armed gunman in the area,'" She says, imitating a deep 'cop' voice. "dumbasses had no clue it was me."
You watch as she laughs, amused at her own story. Suddenly, your foot gets caught under a thick root and your arms fly out in an instant.
Ellie's hands hit your shoulders, grasping them upright, causing you to sharply crash into her chest.
"Oh—shit, sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." You gasp out, trying to regain your balance while loosening your grip on Ellie's coat.
"No, it's those fuckin' shoes," she rebukes, hands still resting on your shoulders. She immediately takes them off you when she notices. "we're almost there anyway. Try not to kill yourself before then."
Your hand burns at your side, palm itching. Is she going to grab it again?
"Where's 'there'?" You ask, glancing around at the wall of trees and shrubbery encircling you both.
"You'll see. Just stay close." She repeats like before, clutching your hand once again.
You tighten your grip, wanting to show Ellie you're listening.
"Good. Let's move."
The two of you walk for about a mile or so more, before the view steals your eyes and you both freeze.
"Oh—wow, Ellie. This is really pretty," you breathe, entranced by the piercingly vibrant colors and towering mountainous structures.
Her head is turned toward you, taking in your reaction to the sight, instead of the sight itself.
She's must've seen it so many times, you think.
"Yeah, you like it? I knew you would." She tells you, unable to keep the satisfied grin from her face.
"Shut up. I'm still mad you didn't even let me get ready this morning."
"There's nobody here. Who're you fuckin' getting ready for?" She barks, arms wide and gesturing.
I still wanted to get ready for you, Ellie. But obviously you don't say that.
"Whatever. You just did it to be a dick." You mutter, plopping yourself down onto the boulder in front of you.
"Yeah, I did. It's funny when you're mad. You're like a cat." She laughs, sitting down next to you.
"That's toxic. You shouldn't make people mad just cause you find it funny." You chide, crossing your legs over the rock.
"Guess I'm toxic, then." She sighs, carelessly throwing pebbles at your head.
"Was that the plan? Sit on a rock and be mean to me?"
"Truly adorable that you think this is mean—"
"Well it's not nice, that's for sure." You huff.
Ellie shifts so that her body faces yours. Her legs spread out wide, elbows comfortably resting on her thighs.
"I don't think you want me to be nice to you."
Your mouth parts open in surprise, eyes now burning into Ellie's.
"Well that's a lie. I'd love for you to be nice—"
"I think you like when I'm mean to you. I think you...prefer it, actually." She juts, a confident smile forming.
"Yeah, and who told you that, Dina?" You question, crossing your arms as a breeze starts to make you shiver.
"Nobody told me anything." her head quirks to the side. "I can just tell."
It was difficult to keep your composure. There were some things Ellie seemed to know about you that you didn't even know yourself. It was terrifying, embarrassing, and flattering all at once. Your face feels like its melting. You stay silent.
"Oh—am I right? I've totally got you, haven't I?" She asks, enjoying fully the power she seems to have over you and your emotions.
"No." You bite, unwilling to try and say anything else.
You hated how often Ellie was right.
She takes a ball of black fabric from her pocket, tossing it in your lap. It's a hat.
"Put it on. It's cold."
A swarm of bats fly over the both of you, chaotic and eruptive.
"It's gonna be dark, Ellie."
"I know, I know. I was, uh—saving the best for last." She quips, hopping off of the rock to stand in front of you.
It felt kind of awkward this way, Ellie fully standing while you sat. You had to look straight up to meet her eyes. It put your head in whirl.
"What, the tattoo? I saw that already."
"No. Something else," She grabs your hand and places it on the bottom hem of her top. Your heart beats a little faster.
"Lift up my shirt."
Your eyes widen as your hand fidgets. You wait for her to keep talking. She doesn't.
"Um...like all the way?" You struggle to find words. "Or—"
"Lift up," her hand grasps yours, guiding it up. "my shirt."
Fabric shifts and the pale flesh of her abdomen comes into view. Her belly is lean—all hard edges and dense muscle. What catches your eye is the long, winding, angry scar tracing along her hip.
Your brain goes into overdrive.
Traumatic injury, surgery needed... most likely...flexor or... IT band tendonitis? Maybe, what, Bursitis? Something...invasive—a tear? Labral tear? Iliopsoas tear? What the fuck was she doing?
"Street fighting." She states. "It's my job."
Your face is blank. You shakily stand.
"Uhhh—you, you better be fucking with me, Ellie." You stutter out. Unconsciously, you move to trace your finger along the scar, feeling the warped, healed skin. "I mean this is...this is serious. This is...surgery."
"Don't I fuckin' know it," she moves her shirt back down, covering the scar. "took me out of the ring for like, eight weeks."
"Jesus—Jesus Christ. How long have you been doing this!?"
"Not much longer than you've been in school, really."
"So, not long. Is what you're saying." your fingers rake through your hair. "This is...this is fucking crazy."
"It's not that—"
"Dina's okay with this? Really. I really don't see how she could be okay with this, like, at all." You argue, cutting her off.
"She wasn't. I had to convince her."
"And how often do you go to the doctor? Once a week? Or do you pretend like you know how to patch yourself up?"
Her face slightly reddens.
"I—I learned how to do it myself. I know how."
"Oh sure. Did you google it? I'm sure google will save you from a life threatening injury."
"Ok, most of them are not 'life threatening'—"
"You don't know that! Not certainly, at least! Not certain enough to be safe!" You exclaim, voice full of anger, but mostly, fear.
She places a hand on your shoulder, gripping it tightly. She doesn't talk until you meet her eyes.
"Hey. I am fine. The hip thing was a fluke. Honest. Most of the time nothing fuckin' happens." She assures, her other hand rubbing up and down your arm. You must've looked more upset than you'd realized.
"Ok."
"Just, 'ok'? Are we...good now?" Ellie asks, blue eyes still deeply connected to yours.
"Um...yeah..." You say, partly hesitating. Ellie watches you closely.
"I wanna go with you."
Her face lights up in...shock?, you think, a pleased grin shaping her mouth.
"What—really?"
"If you really want to do...this," you bite your lip. "being there is what would make me feel...better...about it."
"Yeah? That's...I mean, I think that's great," She says, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "my own cheerleader."
You step backwards, letting Ellie's hands slide away from your body.
"No, not a cheerleader. A fucking medic. So I'm not sitting home worried about you—dying. I can just be there to help if stuff goes wrong."
"I'm happy either way, princess." She gleams.
As the sun sets, it gets harder to make out the shape of her face. The woods are also quieter, amplifying the subtle sounds of you and Ellie. You wonder about the details of your plan.
"Do I have to pay to get in? How does this...work?"
"No, you're set. Pretty girls get in free—it's a club rule. Y'know, good for business and everything."
You thank the sky for it's darkness, as Ellie is unable to see the rosy hue reaching your cheeks.
"Oh. Okay...good to know."
Ellie steps up, and now familiarly, encloses your hand in hers.
"C'mon. It's too fuckin' dark to stay any longer."
You walk out of the clearing, back into the dense foliage of where you came. Your grip tightens.
"So...have you had girlfriend?" Ellie blurts.
"Um, weird question, but," you look away. "no."
"Just...trying to gauge how good of a lesbian you are. Pretty bad, it seems."
"Oh, fuck off. I've been focusing on...school." You retort, fully knowing how lame it sounds.
If you were being honest, it was just nerves. You didn't have to try for a boyfriend, he basically wouldn't even take 'no' for an answer. But with girls? It was like you froze.
"Hey I'd give you some tips but...I don't think they'd really...apply for you, y'know?"
"No, I don't know. Explain it." You demand.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm trying think of a way where it makes...sense. And won't make you mad."
"I won't get mad Ellie. Just say it." You encourage, now more curious than anything.
She stops walking and turns to you.
"Well, it's like...the roles. The roles you can have."
"What...roles...?"
She huffs a laugh before continuing, and positions her hand to point to herself.
"I'm the type that flusters the girl. The...fluster-er, right?"
She walks forwards, getting so close that you can smell the scents of the forest soaked up in her clothing.
"And you," She says, her finger poking your collarbone. "...are the girl that...is flustered. It's a...a dynamic, yeah?"
Your skin heats and all you can do is gaze at Ellie, who's completely enthused with this discussion. She stays quiet, watching your face intently, despite it being so dark.
"You're making stuff up again. I don't even—I don't even know why I let you talk." You utter.
"See? You're doing it already! It's the fuckin' dynamic princess—you know I'm never wrong." She gushes, pinching at your checks and making them even redder.
"This so stupid. And don't call me that."
It was like the world stopped. As soon as you said it, you could see Ellie's brain distinctly remembering you, in that whiny drunken voice, begging. You won't ever forget it. And neither will Ellie, for completely different reasons.
You knew exactly what she was going to say, so you try and stop her.
"Don't. I don't care what I did yesterday. Just—don't."
She sighs, clearly dropping it. Thank god. Her teeth bite the inside of her cheek.
"Whatever you say, princess."
You don't even acknowledge it, just rolling your eyes as you walk ahead. Stray branches brush over your legs and thighs, feeling like gentle scratches. You slow a bit, waiting for Ellie to join you.
And hold your hand again.
Stepping ahead of you to lead, Ellie does just that. The warmth makes you smile, and you let it own your face, bright and wide. You didn't care. It was dark enough.
"Alright. Stay close."
"I know, Ellie."

part 1.5
You were so drunk. Like, so fucking drunk. Legs wobbling and cheeks flushed, an idiot could notice how intoxicated you were. Hanging off of your friends and approaching strangers. A mess, is what you looked like. You'd learned to restrict yourself over the years, as your friends have informed you of all of the humiliating behaviors you exhibit drunk.
You weren't too worried about anything, though. It's your first night drinking in a while—you're up at university now. Rarely do you get to join Dina and her friends by actually consuming the alcohol—you usually just pass. However, tonight, you wanted to get fucked up. You wanted to forget. Fortunately Dina's a good host, and an even better friend. If anyone was going to be holding your hair back at the end of the night, it would probably be her.
The very first thought you had was holy shit, this is not Dina holding my hair. You shouldn't say 'holding', really. Whoever's hand was in your hair was gripping, hard.
"Shut up, you're fine. Here—drink. No, not sip, drink." A voice directs, bringing a cold cup of water to your mouth.
The first sip is disgusting, the stale tastes of alcohol on your tongue washing down your throat.
Oh Christ, is this one of Dina's friends? How do I not remember her? And her...huge shoulders?
"Seriously—fuckin' drink or I'll make you." The same voice says, meaner and harsher. This person talked to you like you were an animal.
The hand that clutches your hair lets go, and surprisingly gently, rakes over your head a few times to smooth it out. You absentmindedly lean into the touch, too far past the threshold to stop yourself.
The hand moves to your nape as you start to drink, cradling. Her fingers just barely reach around the sides of your neck.
You hesitantly gulp about half the glass of water before the brunette puts it back on the counter.
"Ewwww, is that sink water?" You whine, your face scrunching.
"What, it's not good enough for you? You want Fiji? Fuck is the problem?"
Her tone sobers you up for a moment, locking your eyes to the tiles. You couldn't look at someone while they yelled at you.
Slouching on the floor while she hovers over you, you pull the edges of your dress over your folded legs, only just now feeling the bareness. Your hands stay clutched in the fabric.
"Are you done now?" She says. Rudely, you think. She could've meant 'done' with your vomiting or with your complaining, you weren't quite sure.
"Yeah...I think so. Thank you. Um, really, thank you." You try to say, still feeling stuffy and weighted from all the liquor in your system. She looks at you so intensely you turn your head to escape her gaze.
"Dina asked me to." She takes a damp towel and wipes around your face. "Plus you're so drunk it's a fuckin' liability."
"I'm—m'sorry. Who are you? I've never seen you at one of Dina's...things...before, I don't think."
Her hand stills, wet rag still in it. Her eyes hold yours for a moment, closely and intensely, before darting away again.
“Yeah, you haven’t.”
She rolls up her sleeves before wiping over your collarbones and you spot her tattoo. It takes your gaze up the length of her arms, and you simply let your eyes wander over her figure for as long as you want.
"You should probably throw that dress away. Y'got shit all over it now." She states.
Well.
You look down and see that the moisture on your dress has made it completely see through. Your arm moves to drape across your chest to cover your vibrantly patterned bra and your breasts awkwardly spilling out of it.
"Come on, that's jus mean," you complain. "...ignoring me like that. Please, please, pleeease tell me your name..." Your voice is drunken, high-pitched, and definitely annoying. The woman in front of you grimaces.
"No."
"Why not?" You giggle a bit. "I'll tell you mine."
It was kind of your specialty. Annoying people. Her eyebrows shift downwards. No response.
"Hm, ok. I'll ask Dina." You say, a tiny smile trying to break through your face.
"Do it. See if I give a fuck."
"Woooaahhhh, somebody's got a bee in her bonnet! Who peed in your wheaties?"
"You did. And you're at least sixty-fucking-years-old for even saying that," She tosses the rag behind her and puts her hands on her knees to stand all the way up. "y/n."
Your face lights up an in instant. You scramble to your feet.
"How--how do you know mine? But I can't know yours!?"
"Just how it is. I have to go now." She says, throwing her khaki jacket on her back.
"But--hey, hold on, I don't have a ride home anymore! Everyone's left by now!"
"Not my problem. Call your fucking boyfriend or something." She barks, hands now defensively in her pockets.
A laugh promptly bursts out of you, and you impulsively reach out to grasp her shoulder. Your fingers brush over the collar of her jacket.
"O-kay," you quip, "hold on--cause, I don't have a boyfriend, silly," Her eyes bore into yours as your face draws even nearer. "I'm a lesbian..." You whisper giddily, as if it's something only she gets to know.
Her eyes flit away from you as her mouth purses and flattens, like she's contemplating on how to deal with you. In a moment her pupils are locked with yours again.
"Wow, so fucking special, aren't you, princess?" Her last word is a little less bold, less certain than the rest, like it wasn't entirely intentional. You blush, full body and wholeheartedly.
Princess. Princess?
Your grin widens uncontrollably, and you feel yourself giving in to the hazy pleasure of the alcoholic buzz in your blood. Your hands palm your own thighs as you speak.
"Oh...princess? I like that. I've never—I've never been...called that, before. Before now." You breathe out, eyes fluttery and tired.
She didn't snap at you immediately this time. No, instead, she begins to smile. A lazy, smug, confident smile that burns your stomach.
"You're gonna be real fuckin' embarrassed when you remember this tomorrow. Fuckin'—prissy bitch like you acting all shameless."
“You don’t know who I am,” You mutter, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear. "and this? This is not shameless. Do you wanna see shameless? What that actually looks like?" You ask, voice quiet on purpose.
"...No. Fuck no." She denies, that microscopic crack of a smile still evident on her face.
She's very pretty when she smiles. Sooooo pretty.
"You swear way too much, you know that?"
"No, I didn't fucking know that."
Her eyes don't leave yours, like she's waiting for something. Finally, something breaks.
The hand that was resting on the doorknob jiggles it open and she stands in the frame for a moment, just staring. Her compelling eyes force your words out.
"Ok but before you go. One question. Just—just one question.”
"What."
You freeze. What did you want to ask her? You remember it being something about her age.
“Well fucking spit it out. I’m trying to leave.” She urges.
Before you can even recall, another thought appears in your head.
"Okay, okay. Call me princess again? Pleeease? Just once before you go. I don't even want a ride anymore.” You take a glance at the bathroom. “I'll just...sleep… here." You whisper, a little upset thinking about how after this woman leaves, you'll be standing in this bathroom, alone.
"..."
She steps forward, mostly expressionless, pulling up the straps of your dress to cover some cleavage you didn't realize was showing. Your face heats shamefully.
She lets out a sigh.
"Dina has a pull-out in the basement. There's another bathroom down there too if y'need it. Go to bed," Her eyes scan you up and down so quickly you almost miss it. "and finish that glass of water."
With that, the door shuts behind her.
And she's gone.
_____________
You did end up talking to Dina about the person you met last night. Around noon, of course, as you both had slept through the entirety of morning.
"Wait...that's Ellie? Are you fucking serious?!" You clamor, barely comprehending what she’s saying.
The person who helped you out last night knew you, and it also happened to be Ellie. You wanted to hit yourself. Knock yourself out. Be unconscious.
"I thought you knew! She doesn't look that different."
"Dina. I haven't seen her in four years, cut me some slack. And she has like—a whole new energy now. It's....different."
She smirks at you. "...Different?"
"I—yes, different. I know I'm not wrong. I'm not."
The last time you saw Ellie, she was 19 and you were 16. You hadn't come out yet, and hung off of your asshole boyfriend's arm for as long as you could when he was around. Ellie hated the guy. You were insufferable, but Dina must've seen through it enough to befriend you. You’re eternally grateful.
Ellie is a family friend of Dina's, so naturally your paths crossed pretty frequently back then. Until two days before her 20th birthday, when she ran away only with plane tickets and a plan to 'elope' with her girlfriend of three months. They broke up a month later.
You haven't seen her since—excluding last night, of course.
"Oh—oh, fuuuuck. Dina, I know why she was so mean to me last night." Your hands reach up and you drop your face into them.
"She was mean? You didn't say that, the hell?"
"Yes—she was mean, Jesus Dina, keep up. Listen I didn't even recognize her. Like, at all. I kept asking for her fucking name, like, over and over and over again! Oh god, she probably thinks I'm such an asshole." You sulk, rerunning the things you said and did last night in your head.
"Yeah, she totally does."
"No! shut up! You're not helping. How was I supposed to--? She has these arms now, she didn't have those three years ago! And her shoulders? They're so much...wider!" You exclaim, bewildered by this entire situation.
"Hah, ok--"
You cut Dina off.
"And the tattoo, oh my god the tattoo! She's basically unrecognizable!"
"Calm the fuck down, perv. She got a new job three years ago and it just changed her a bit. She does a lot of...physical stuff, now. But she's basically the same, I swear."
"Yeah? Ok. That's...reassuring, I guess..." You say, half truthful. Dina looks at you with something you can't identify. "so...what job."
"Uhhhh—well, not my place to say. You'll...definitely have to ask her. Yourself." Dina winces, trying her best to not let out more info than she should.
"Hm. This is getting...less and less reassuring as you go on. But, thank you Dina."
"So you want her number?" She grins, holding up her phone.
"Are you kidding me." You reject. "I do not text first. You know that."
“You freak, not for that,” Dina shakes her head. “but so you guys can fucking make up and not hate each other, maybe?”
She laughs before getting right on her phone and looking for Ellie's contact.
"I'll just send your number to hers then, jeez."
"No, don't do that either. If Ellie's all upset I couldn't tell who she was, she can be a big girl and tell it to my face. And I don't even care if you tell her I said that. Honestly."
Dina looks up at you. Eyes unmoving and apathetic.
"Both of you are so fucking dramatic. Don't think I'm on your side or her's at this point. I’m completely out of this.”
She throws her phone on the couch before tossing her whole body on it as well. She grabs the remote to turn on the TV.
“Oh shit,” Dina laughs.
“What?”
“Ellie’s gonna fuckin’ flip when she finds out you’re gay now,” Dina says with an acute smile.
I already, accidentally, drunkenly told her. Problem fucking solved, you think.
“Ok? Why’s that?”
“Oh, no reason. Just, pure shock, probably.”
“Yeah, that makes sense,” You respond lightly. “…I guess she still pictures the me from highschool, right?”
“Is that your way of asking me if she still hates your ex-boyfriend? Cause yeah, trust me, she does—”
An impeding stream of knocks cut her off. You both whip your heads towards the sound.
The door swiftly opens and in steps Ellie.
Nobody speaks for a few seconds.
“…I have coffee. Thanks for leaving the door unlocked, morons,” Her leg kicks backwards and loudly shuts it. “I hope you get fuckin’ robbed one of these times.”
She walks ahead and hands a hot cup to Dina, and then, to you.
Her thumb rubs along the inside of the carabiner clipped to the loop of her jeans. There’s a smidge of silence before she looks up, only really looking at you.
“I need to show you something.”
And that’s all she says. No context, no elaboration.
“Uh—now?” You question, still in the beat up makeup from last night and hair sticking in all different directions. You couldn’t go out in public like this.
“Uh, yes, now.” She unclips the carabiner and spins it around her pinky. “Let’s go.”
“But what if—what if I have plans?”
“Do you?”
“Well no, but I’d like to at least—”
“Jesus Christ both of you are like this? Here: your hair looks great, your makeup is perfect, your boobs are huge. Can we fucking leave now?” She tells you, completely causing you to forget anything you were saying.
In a moment of panic, you glance at Dina.
Her eyebrows and shoulders only give a limp shrug, as if to say, ‘I don’t know what this is about, but you’re on your own!’
Naturally.
“Yeah, we can leave,” you take a sip of your coffee. “…Ellie.”
The second you say her name, her head is turned to you. Her eyebrows creasing and eyes unwilling to break your gaze. So now you know what the stare was about.
You wonder if your cluelessness last night genuinely hurt her. Made her feel unwanted. Unknown. You felt like shit. You just hope she doesn’t feel similar as you do right now.
She says nothing.
And in that silence, with Ellie cutting in front to get the door for you, you leave.

out west (ellie x reader)
warnings: guns/firearms
a/n: howdy guys. not sure if this is what everyone was picturing but this was SO MUCH FUN to write ☺️😋☺️. i definitely do not think they used the word “daddy” in the wild west but i wanted to use it soooo😩😩😩😩also here are the random bits of western slang i used (taradiddles - lies, rumours. sage hen - woman, lady. ‘at sea’ - scared/confused. bellyache - worry. flannel mouth - shithead politician basically) im sorry if i effed this up 0_0 -j
His oversized poncho was black. So was the bandanna covering his mouth, and the large hat hiding his eyes. His revolver, resting like a small child in his gloved hand, stares you down mercilessly.
The figure looked of a ghost. A silent, lifeless bundle of fabrics, rippling in the wind. No face. No skin. No humanity.
And he matched the description of the poster exactly.
“No—no, please, my—my Daddy, he’s the sheriff! It’s more trouble than I’m worth, I’m tellin’ you, please!” You beg, eyes beginning to water and voice already panicked.
He says nothing, boot-clad feet pounding the wood floor carelessly as he walks towards you.
“If you do this he’ll find you! He won’t stop until he finds you! Please don’t!”
It was like talking to a pile of bricks.
The outlaw continues to charge ahead, wordlessly, and you find yourself desperately trying to see where his eyes would land under his hat. He approaches, big and brooding, until you’re face to face with that soulless bandana and downright trembling.
“I—I’d make a real good wife, really, I’ve learned all the—the sewin’, the cookin’ and—and ranchin’! I know it all I promise! It’d be a waste!” You plea, knowing it’s a last resort, knowing this man does not care.
In an instant, his hands clutch your shoulders and forcibly shove you to the side and out of his way, sending you stumbling. His attention lands and focuses on the wall that was behind you.
The poster?
Suddenly, his arm thrusts out and snatches it, like the crack of a whip, before frantically tearing the paper into tiny little pieces.
You watch as they all float down to the floor, feathery and weightless.
You see the brim of his hat turn to you first, and then his head, slowly, like he’s noticing your presence for the first time.
The hand not holding his revolver rises calmly, loosening the edges of his bandanna just a touch. He clears his throat.
“Girl like you knows how to ranch?”
Your eyes almost pop out of your head.
“You’re—”
“Sorry, these damn posters—always…writin’ up taradiddles. Got people thinkin’ I’m some madman, when really,” a finger flicks the rim of the hat, flipping it off of his head and into his grasp. “I’m no man at all.”
You feel yourself reeling, barely able to understand his words, or, her words. The hat had covered up her blue eyes, almost oceanic in color. The bandanna, hiding her soft thin lips. Basically criminal, all the fabric denying you sight of her face.
She went against almost everything Daddy had taught you. It was as terrifying as it was alluring.
“Well you look a bit at sea, darlin’. Why so scared?” She asks, placing her revolver in its holster and walking a bit closer to you.
“I—I don’t get how,”
“How? How what? How a sage hen can shoot? I can tell you right now I cut a cleaner whistle than your Daddy.” She grins, palm now itching closer to her weapon.
“No I—I believe you, it’s alright. Please don’t bring that back out.” You rush, the fear starting to sink back into you.
“Oh, honey, I don’t hunt the good ones. You’ve nothin’ to be scared of,” She assures you, her hand reaching out and feeling some of your hair. “now that sheriff Daddy of yours? Can’t say the same for him.”
You pause, hands balling into fists.
“You know what? My Daddy told me all about you and what you’ve done. I wouldn’t be speakin' so kindly of yourself.” You bite, slightly catching the gunslinger off guard with your tone.
“Oh, did he? Well your Daddy clearly don’t know me too well,” she rebukes, gesturing to the torn pieces of poster under her boots. “do you always believe everythin’ Daddy says?”
“Of course not—”
“I bet Daddy told you that storks bring the babies, right? Did he tell you that?”
“When I was young, but—”
“I bet he also told you about marriage then? One man and one woman?”
You stop talking.
What was wrong about that? Isn’t that how marriage is?
“Most of all, I bet he done told you all about the perfect husband you’re gonna get. Some flannel mouth he works with. Daddy’s girl only gets the best, right? That what he say?”
“I—” You turn your head, a little defeated. “I ain’t marryin’ no flannel mouth,”
“Oh yeah? That’s what’ll happen if you keep listenin’ to Daddy.”
“You don’t know jack. Just a crazy woman with a shootin’ iron. You won’t ever find a husband, I know it.” You spit, not even really believing your own words.
She laughs, rather abruptly, hands rested in the loops of her gun holster.
“Got no bellyaches about that, darlin’. I promise you.” She says knowingly, eyes unwilling to break their gaze from you.
You don’t quite understand what she means by it, especially the way she’s grinning, so you say nothing. Her eyes watch you darkly, following your movements and sending messages you can't translate.
Before she can speak, you remember.
“Oh—my Daddy’s gonna be back soon. I don’t want you to be here when he does.” You tell her, glancing at the doorway behind the both of you.
“I won’t be.”
“Alright—will…will I see you again?”
“Oh sweetheart, you want to?” She questions, starting to re-tie the black bandanna around her mouth.
You blush, sweetly, and the outlaw basks in it. She takes her hat back off, kisses it gently, and places it in your hands.
Her head moves to your neck, barely getting close enough to your ear and whispering faintly.
“Tell Daddy it’s from a suitor, yeah?”
Your cheeks heat, sheerly from how close she is, but also at her words, which feel so much dirtier than they should be to you.
Following that, her leather-covered hands grab your face, and she places a warm kiss on your cheek through the bandanna.
Only lightly could you feel the outline of her lips in the fabric, and it sets you on fire nonetheless.
“Thank you,” you murmur, unsure of how to respond and dizzy with excitement.
“Don’t thank me yet,” she warns, voice a bit muffled. She pulls down the bandanna one last time, and with a wink, tells you,
“I’ll be back for my hat.”

hit me, part 1.5 (bonussss!)
wc: 1.5k, largely unedited warnings: swearing/language, very very light talk of smut, drug use (alcohol) a/n: hi everyone. the feedback on part one made me so so happy that i wanted to drop this for ya'll. i hope u like it ;) tags: @elliewilliamsmunch@intrnetdoll@me-and-your-husband@3zae-zae3@milahnoz@elliescumm
For context, this chapter takes place 4 years before part one, or where *reader is 16 and Ellie is 19*.This part is simply to explore an interesting friendship dynamic, teenage sexuality, and some backstory to Ellie + reader.
*I do not condone underage relationships and there will be no insinuations, assumptions, or even words that would suggest Ellie being romantically interested in reader at this point considering their age gap.*
I know this makes it sound super serious but i PROMISE YOU its not. i had to put in a disclaimer simply for respect and safety reasons. enjoy!
-j
part 1
"'Natty Light'? What the hell is that?"
"It's beer," Ellie reassures you. "it's what the college folk drink. Want some?" She says, offering out the can in her hand.
"I think I'll wait until I become...college folk." You remark, unsure.
Ellie liked being around you. When your dumbass boyfriend wasn't trying drown you with his spit every six minutes. God, he's such a dick. Ellie couldn't wait for you to grow up and see the scum of the world without youth clouding your eyes. Scum not just including your boyfriend, obviously, but mainly him.
You sit on Ellie's bed, flipping your phone back and forth between your hands like you'd been doing the entire hour you've been here.
Ellie knew what that meant. It meant that he hadn't responded for a couple days, and you're just starting to get anxious about it.
Fucking. Dick.
"What do you do in college?" You ponder.
"Fuck girls, get high, get drunk, and maybe learn. Not sure." Ellie says mindlessly. She didn't see the point in college. Thought it was a waste of time and energy. She also didn't have the money to attend.
"Or at least, that's what I would do." Ellie finishes, snatching your phone from your hands.
She chugs around half of the can after she finishes talking, topping it off with a burp.
"Give it back, Ellie." You demand.
"Why? If he hasn't texted in four days he's not gonna start now."
Ellie regretted saying that almost immediately. Sometimes you seemed so...grown up. It was hard to censor herself around you. Especially when it's something she's been trying to tell you forever.
She sees your face fall, head turn swiftly towards her window. You liked how she had a bunch of sketches up there, and when the sun shined through it you'd always say it 'looked like all of her drawings were glowing'. Ellie smiled so hard when you'd said that. One million watts for sure.
Some of them were of her current girlfriend. Some of them of her ex-girlfriends. Some of them of Dina. All you really wanted was to see yourself up there.
You were too nervous around Ellie to ask her to do anything like that. Like drawing you.
"Y'know he wasn't that way in the beginning. I used to really...like him, I think." You mutter, still facing the window.
Ellie scoffs.
"You think?"
"I'm being serious, Ellie. It's like you don't listen to me cause you think you know everything. You're not even that much older than me."
"Oh yeah? What's a condom?" She asks, eyeing you.
You don't even say anything.
"So is that because you don't know? Or--"
"Shut the fuck up. Give me my phone back already." You huff, frustrated.
"Oooh shes swearing now?" Ellie teases. She watches as your face gets all pink as you get more irritated. You cross your arms hastily. It was fun to make you mad, Ellie thought.
"You should break up with Cat."
Uh, what?
"I'm sorry?" Ellie questions, less upbeat than she was a moment ago.
"I'm tired of you nagging me about my boyfriend. Cat's not very much better than he is. In my opinion."
"Christ, you sound like Joel," Ellie spits.
If there's one thing Ellie never expected from you, it was this. You usually never breached the subject of Ellie's love life. Ellie didn't mind not talking about it, she knew you weren't homophobic or anything. She just thought, honestly, that you were disinterested. So she never really...brings Cat up.
"If you can talk about my boyfriend than I can talk about Cat. It's...fair."
"It's fucking different. You don't get it."
"Why?! You always say that," You retort, sitting up a little taller on the bed. "Just—just because I'm dating a guy and you're dating a girl?"
"Yes. Literally, yes. It's fuckin' different, I don't know what else to say." Ellie remarks, throwing the can she emptied minutes ago onto the floor. She grabs a new can from the pack, cracking it open on the spot.
"Tell me, then." You say. "Tell me how it's different."
"Well, first of all, no dicks—"
"Ellie."
She huffs out a big sigh before starting again.
"I don't even—" She burps.
"I don't even know why you wanna know. And like, right now, of all times."
When Ellie asks you that, you freeze. Obviously, noticeably, freeze. Because, well, you didn't even know why you wanted to know. You just did.
"I—I just wanna know more about you, I guess." You stutter out.
Ellie's eyes narrow. Are you...nervous?
"I know he's not a good boyfriend. I know that, Ellie. You think I'm stupid and I'm not. But I can't break up with him."
Ellie still feels like that's total bull.
"Why not."
"I just can't! It's like—it feels, like, safer, to be with him."
"That guy is anything but fucking safe—"
"You know what I mean." You say quietly.
"No, I don't." Ellie says, trying to look into your eyes.
Your head was faced downward toward the bed. Ellie practically screamed through her thoughts. You couldn't even look at her. Had she been too mean to you? In Ellie's mind, it always feels lighthearted. She didn't always take the time to make sure other people took it that way.
Finally, you look up, meeting Ellie's eyes.
"You...don't? You don’t get what I mean?”
"No, y/n. I have zero fuckin' clue. Am I...supposed to?" She questions, clearly starting to get confused.
Safe? Safe? It feels safer?! Ellie was fucking lost.
How could being with that piece of shit feel any safer than being fucking alone?
"I—y'know what, nevermind. It's dumb. I don't even know what I mean. I just thought that you would get it—for some reason. It's stupid. Sorry." You mumble out, trying to forget whatever miniscule things you were telling her.
"Don't say sorry, you didn't even fuckin' do anything," Ellie quips. "Why me?"
"I don't know. I just...thought of...you." You trail off, rubbing at your shoulders.
Yeah, whatever you were talking about? It made you really fucking nervous.
"Hmm..." Ellie hums, hopping off of the bed and beginning to rummage through a desk drawer. "Here."
"...What."
"Would you like to hear the story of my first gay crush?" She grins, knowing absolutely that you'll want to hear.
She hops back onto the bed, sitting a little closer to you.
Ellie knew she was a good storyteller, but you were by far her best listener. It's endearing, how engaged you get. Never even daring to take a glance anywhere but at Ellie.
"So her name was Riley. And I was...youngish, but—I knew for sure that my feelings were...gay feelings, y'know?"
"Well how'd you know?" You ask bluntly.
"Well I wanted to like, hold her hand? And stuff? I wanted to...to take her places. Like, cool places I found outside, and like, dumb little lookout points. I'd draw her tiny pictures of things she liked. Write stupid little notes and shit. I would make her...bracelets and, things she could wear. Stuff that didn't really cost anything. I don't know...I just kinda...knew."
You don't respond. Your eyes are glossy, barely gazing at Ellie.
"Y/N, you good?" Ellie laughs, grabbing your shoulder and shaking it a bit to get your attention.
"Yeah! I'm fine, sorry. Got in my head a little."
"Right, right, wanna see somethin' stupid?" She says, awaiting your response.
"Sure."
She picks up the item she was rummaging for a minute ago. It's a post it note.
"Oh! Can I read it?" You beg, excited to see the parts of Ellie's life you're so unfamiliar with.
"Hah, yeah, go for it. I promise you it's...underwhelming." She hands you the blue paper, drawing side down.
You begin to read.
"You are the prettiest girl I've ever seen. I drew you a penguin wearing a hat that says, 'you are the prettiest…princess…ever'. Best wishes, Ellie." You smile without meaning to.
You give her the post-it note back.
"I wish I got notes like this. Do guys...do that?" You ask.
"Um, maybe some? I wouldn't know." Ellie admits.
She wanted to say no, y/n, no guy will do that until you get married, probably, because that was the truth. However, seeing how happy you were at somebody else's love note, she didn't have the heart to say it. Ellie didn't mind letting you be sheltered a little longer if it made you happy.
Before the two of you could say anything else, a phone chimes.
Your phone.
It's him.
"Oh thank god. Ellie, I have to call him. Can I call him? I'll be back in a second I swear," You ramble, basically sprinting out the door to talk to the meathead in your phone.
Fuck.
One day you'll grow up. Ellie knows this. She sees how you change every day. It still makes her feel funny to see you so...dishonest with yourself.
The day you break up with that dick is the day I fucking win, Ellie thinks.
And that day occurred exactly a week later.
After Ellie had already left.

warnings: UNEDITED, mild smut, fluff, hand + finger kink, mild drug use (alcohol + weed)
You were undoubtedly not a party person. Not that you'd really had the chance to figure that out too many times, but after the first 20 minutes of tonight, you knew for sure.
Ellie however? Not the life of the party or anything, but the loose and confident energy she held was undeniable. She had the ability to make you swoon from across the room. And clearly the rest of Jackson has also noticed, as they huddle around her almost magnetically.
You absolutely were not trying to avoid anyone, but somehow, you have been left out. Sidelined. Othered. It's strange, as most of the town had quickly familiarized themselves with you and your creativity. But now, in this tattered party shack off the edge of the woods, you were nobody again.
"Hey! Hey! Are you fucking listening?"
Suddenly, Ellie's in your face, waving her bottle of beer around as she shouts. She laughs before taking another swig. "Are you thereee?"
"Oh fuck, sorry. Kind of zoned out I guess." You say.
"I see that. Why are you over here?" She asks.
"I don't know, I kind of-"
She cuts you off by grabbing your arm and hoisting you off the low couch. She pulls hard enough to hurt.
"Doesn't matter- we're playing pong. You don't need to do anything, I just need a partner, so..."
"Yeah, fine. Are you, like, drunk drunk? Right now?" You question, almost regretfully, not wanting to overstep. It's just that her hands are climbing up and down your arms, mindlessly, almost like she just can't help but to feel your skin.
"Well...ha...kinda," She rolls her eyes, "why?"
Before you can answer she speaks again, the hand resting on your shoulder starting to drift upwards towards your ear.
"Actually- don't tell Dina- but I'm kinda high right now also," She says, her voice getting quieter as she continues. Her fingers fiddle with the jewelry on your left ear again. You changed them for the party, (something almost unnoticeable to the average person) but Ellie can't seem to keep her hands off of them.
You pause.
"Um, why shouldn't I tell her?"
Ellie stares at you for a moment, like she's deciding on whether or not to tell you the truth. It almost hurts to see her not automatically say what's on her mind.
"Cause last night I got fuckin- I got fucked up, basically. Dina made me promise to not drink and smoke together again,"
Her hand inches up to your forehead as she talks, where her thumb starts to fidget with the clips spread through your hair.
"And Dina always tells me, 'Ellie you're like an insecure guy when you drink. Always trying to pick people up and lift random shit,'" She takes the last swig of her beer before tossing the bottle on the couch.
"And yeah, I do that, but at-"
"Get in here dicks, pong's starting!" A voice yells, cutting Ellie off.
Jesse whips a ping pong ball at the back of Ellie's head, successfully taking her attention from you. He quickly picks it up before letting out a warm drunken laugh.
"Oh shit, is Ellie putting the moves on you? Y'know more than three beers and she's-"
"Shut the fuck up Jesse. Y/N, lets go.
Jesse just laughs again while Ellie grabs your hand to lead you to the kitchen.
"You didn't mention that Ellie," You look up at her, hyper-aware of how often she stares at your lips ever since that morning in her house. "are you a player?"
She scoffs before flicking your head.
"Uh, no. I just...like talking to pretty girls at parties," Her flannel whips behind her as you finally enter the kitchen. "is that a fucking crime or something?"
People crowd around a table, set with various cups, all filled slightly with some sort of liquor. Dina and Jesse stand at the other end of the table, attempting to un-dent the only ping pong ball they've found so far.
Ellie's arm snakes around your waist before you hear her voice beside you.
"I might need to hold onto you, by the way, I've had--like--four beers and a shot."
Your face heats as you think of all the people in the room seeing her arm wrapped so tightly around your midsection. As you fumble to say yeah, of course Ellie, she glues the side of her body to yours, making sure her hand stays firmly on your waist.
Ellie almost falls over trying to get closer edge of the table.
"Hey everyone! Hey! From now on, y/n is my designated pong partner! No fuckin' arguments."
A shocked laugh escapes you immediately.
"Ellie!...Jesus..."
"What? You're my girl right? I've got to let 'em know you're my girl," She assures.
"Well with the way you've been holding me..."
Ellie's smile widens.
"I feel like they'd figure it out..." You finish.
"Yeah? And how have I been holding you?"
Your eyes dart back to Dina and Jesse and all the other people in the room before meeting up with hers again.
"Like...like I'm gonna...run away, or something," You say.
"Yeah, well...what if you do?" Her grip on you loosens just a bit. "You did the other morning. You were all yes Ellie, touch me, and then when I went for the pencils and came back you were gone!"
Your blushed cheeks turn an even darker shade of red. Your voice comes out slightly shaky when you talk.
"I--I got nervous! I'm sorry! And with the way you were so mad at first?"
You let out a breath of air you didn't realize you'd been holding. "I was questioning if you really wanted me there at all."
Her eyebrows crease. Then, almost as if to block you from view, she turns the both of you so that your back is facing the wall closest by. Her face gets near enough to yours that you smell the yeasty tang of those four beers on her tongue.
"Oh sweetheart. I almost fingered you after knowing you for like, 10 minutes. You think I don't want you?"
Your skin warms as you process what she's saying. You want to back up and let her crowd you against the wall. The way her hips shift against yours, not touching but close enough to feel every jut sets your insides buzzing. You can't repress a shiver from the sensation. Or the cold- your skirt is on the shorter side.
"Reeally cute when you get speechless like that," Ellie breaths out, tugging at the neck of her flannel and taking it off. "here. Since you wanted to wear something you know you'd freeze in. Like an idiot."
You spacily grab it out of her hands, and as you do, she takes it back from your grasp while shaking her head.
"I got it. Arms out, c'mon," as she starts to put her flannel over your shoulders, she continues. "I have an idea. How about weee...ditch this party. And smoke the joint I have hidden in the shed right now."
"Are you sure? You're already pretty drunk-"
"I won't smoke that much. Maybe a hit or two. I'll let you have most of it," She grins.
Reluctant to make her miss the rest of the party and lively night in general, you keep pushing.
"Yeah, but, the pong game? Right?"
Ellie laughs, throwing her arm around your shoulders and resting it there. Her bicep being so close to your face makes you dizzy. It feels dirty to admit you don't mind how strong she smells there--unsurprising after a night of partying.
"Just let me treat you, alright? High under the stars. Forget about your worries. That kinda shit." Her finger twirls a strand of your hair as she waits for you to answer.
"Yeah. Of course. That sounds really...lovely." You say, too focused on the weight of her body across your back.
"Ok. Good. Great. I'm gonna tell Dina we're going."
Instead of walking over to Dina, Ellie simply screams over the jumble of conversation until Dina hears, and responds, also screaming across the noise.
"Perfect. Let's head out, pretty lady."
-------------------------------------------------------------
You've only taken three hits, but you know you feel something. The greeny ash taste in your throat hasn't gone away, despite you consistently sipping your water.
"How's it feeling?" Ellie asks you, relishing in her fourth puff despite telling you earlier she would take less. You don't mind.
You'd both been slouched on the floor upon a blanket, picnic style, Ellie leaned against your side and her hand starting to creep up the outside of your thigh.
"Good...I guess. I feel warm. Like, cozy." And you did.
Truthfully, you were also a bit on edge. Like, sexually on edge. The blanket heat of the weed with Ellie's presence has you constantly wet and burning. Aching. Of course, that's not something you'd tell Ellie.
"Are you gonna teach me how to roll it?" You ask. "I want to do it next time."
"Next time?" She questions, dramatically opening her eyes.
"I, I mean, you want to hang out with me again...right?"
"Obviously! I'm fuckin' with you," she covers her mouth to laugh before grabbing your hand.
"And, no, I'm not teachin' you how to roll. I'll do it for you. No need for you to learn sweetheart."
When Ellie says things so simply like that, especially in that tone, you have no choice but to go along. You can't bring yourself to push back against something that makes you feel so tingly.
"Oh. Ok." You mumble, staring at her hand encompassing yours.
"It's far easier to just let my hands do all the work," She squeezes your thumb. "right?"
"Yeah-yes. Far easier." You say.
Ellie drags her thumb across your knuckles. Her eyelids droop slightly, eyes shaded a light pink, and her is face flushed from the alcohol. She's so, so beautiful, and you wish you could will the courage to tell her.
"I wore the skirt 'cause I thought you'd like it." You voice, eyes unable to meet her's as you talk. "Do you?"
She lets out a breath.
"Fuck. Fuck, of course I fucking like it. You're so pretty in it." Her hand inches under your skirt, finally grasping towards your upper thigh and edging the hem of your panties.
A brisk exhale escapes your lips as her fingers drift, navigating the plush of your hips expertly. As if she's already planned on where and how to touch you.
"Hey where'd you go? Keep your hand on mine," Ellie grabs your loose hand, which had wandered to your side, and places it firmly on her hand grasping your underwear. "and don't let go."
"Ellie..." you huff, burning hot all over.
"What, this is too much for you? I haven't even done anything yet."
You feel her palm, big and warm, cup you through the fabric and knead, forcefully but slowly rubbing your clit and watching your face for a reaction. Your hand still clutches over hers and you can feel her muscles flex in tune with the heavy pressure on your folds.
Your mouth parts open, lips shiny and untouched as your head looms closer to Ellie's. Her eyes remain locked on yours as her fingers move faster, and it becomes difficult for you to keep your hand on hers as she speeds up.
"Hah--Ellie," You gasp, eyes a bit watery from the sudden stimulation.
Something in her eyes shift and her face is moving closer to yours, her free hand enveloping one side of your face. Ellie kisses you hastily, smearing saliva over both of your mouths. Your teeth clack together, and her tongue is rampant, licking deeply into the kiss. She sucks and bites at your lips, ravaging them, while her other hand still palms you consistently, the strength of her entire arm grinding against your pussy.
The hand on your face reaches to fondle your breast, clawing at your shirt with force to feel underneath your bra. Her hand, despite its size compared to yours, still can't grab your entire breast. Ellie lets out a groan at the sight of you spilling out of her fingers.
Interrupting the both of you, a small metal trinket falls out of the band of your bra and onto the floor.
"Oh--shit, I forgot I was keeping that there," You say, immediately picking it up and holding it to your side.
"Uhm...what is that?" Ellie asks, eyes still partly drawn to where your skirt has ridden up, exposing a part of your ass.
You notice her gaze and mindlessly fix your skirt before picking the item up. The star-shaped rock on the front of the ring took you hours to tediously chip down due to the tiny size. It was worth it to possibly please Ellie.
"It's--well, remember the ring?" You rotate it forward, showing off the small star emblem like its a priceless diamond. "I made it. For you."
"Holy-holy shit! That's so fucking cute! You're so fuckin' cute!" She says in between short laughs. "I can't believe you actually like...made it." She puts the ring on the middle finger of her left hand, pleased with the way it fits perfectly.
"Y'know, now, you jus need to wear something that has a star like mine. So we match."
Her words make you smile wide, also while painting your face rose.
"I actually—my belly," You lift your shirt a tad, exposing the bottom lace of your bra but also the tiny piercing on your bellybutton. "the shape is a star, but-I swear, completely unintentional."
"Oh, shit. That's...cute." She murmurs, leaning closer to your stomach to give it a kiss. "Yeah, 'unintentional', my ass."
You slap her wrist lightly. "Oh shut up,"
Her hand again travels up your legs to reach your thigh, only to pause and retract for a moment. Ellie then takes the ring off of her left hand and triumphantly places it onto her right.
Oh.
"Ok, Ellie, that's like a tiny bit gross-"
"I'll clean it. I promise. I just feel like- I need to baptize it, or something, y'know?" She assures, lips curving up into a sly smile.
"Shut up." You quip. "You really must be high or something."
“We’re both high babe. It fucking reeks in here.”

heyyyy so I was wondering if you write college au for Ellie??
pluck my heartstrings (college!ellie)
a/n: of course i can do that anon!! lovely idea!! also this is lowk based off of something that happened to me irl (kicks feet) BUT its so cute so idc. i hope you like it!!!!! warnings: UNEDITED!!, teeny tiny alcohol mention -j
music major Ellie is just something that I think would be so so so so cute
I feel like she'd be making MOVES with that damn guitar
like she's always there at house party's n shit, asking for song requests and kinda being a show-off
not obnoxiously tho
this night, same as any other, she's seated with that guitar, soaking up the attention of like 20 people
You don't go over by her, (you're way too nervous), but it doesn't stop you from nodding your head a bit and singing along quietly when she strums a song you know
Ellie sees you, she's been seeing you at these parties, and always wonders why the pretty girl with the pretty voice never comes over to hear her play up close :(
You were completely oblivious. All dolled up in the corner, singing to yourself and sipping your drink occasionally.
Ellie doesn't hesitate this night, finally gathering up the courage to talk to you, approaching with the guitar still slung across her shoulder.
"You like that one?" She asks you, smiling shyly.
"Yeah, it was...alright."
"'Alright'? I mean you were singin' along so...couldn't of been that bad." She argues, eyes lurking over your sitting figure.
"Fine, it was good. I...I liked it." you admit, almost feeling trapped by her broad shoulders.
It didn't take long before Ellie roped you in fully, bashful smile and confident hands warming you hotter than the alcohol.
She'd begged you to pick a song, and before you knew it, you were being serenaded on a frumpy couch at a house party.
You thought you'd get to sit pretty and listen to her pluck the strings, but no, Ellie had different plans.
She stops playing to grab your hand, and bluntly but gently, places it directly on the cold strings.
"Here sweetheart―put your fingers on this little square―yup, good, now keep em' pressed down," she almost whispers, maneuvering your fingers along the neck of her guitar. "this is a fret. So if you keep pressing, I can do this―"
And with her eyes locked on yours, she strums, thumb lazily catching all five strings. She lets the rich chord ring and die out until it's silent again. Heatedly, her mouth parts and she continues.
"and it sounds...perfect, doesn't it? Me and you?"
Your mouth opens and closes, struggling to find a response.
"Yeah," you breathe. "it's really nice. I―can I try again?"
"Of course." Ellie assures, free hand now resting on top of yours. Her thumb is rubbing small soft circles, almost absentmindedly, as she talks. "get a little closer, c'mon. You can barely reach from there."
Her arm goes behind your back and grips your waist, pulling you flush with her side.
"Oh―okay," you gasp out, thighs now squished against hers and burning from the contact.
Ellie smiles at you, a bit slyly, before retracting her arm to go back to your hand.
"So now, move down one fret," she guides, palm resting atop your wrist. "—yeah, beautiful. You're a natural, y/n. What can I say?"
You let out clipped laugh before responding.
"Yeah—whatever, just strum it again. I wanna hear."
"Ok, ok. Just—just look at me. Look at me when I do it." She says, face so close to yours that you can feel the heat of her breath.
You don't respond out loud, only a small nod. The pit in your stomach is molten and heavy, only growing as Ellie's gaze continuously slips to your mouth instead of her guitar.
"Ellie—"
"It's alright, just keep pressing"
And then, just like before, she strums, lightly playing the song and moving your fingers along the frets when need be.
The music is muted this time, as you're distracted by Ellie's heady eyes and steady hand. You can't contain the way your limbs start to tremble a touch, almost getting needy next to her body.
Ellie notices, and stills, silencing the remnant acoustics with her palm.
"I—I think I really like you." she says, a rosy tint rising to her cheeks.
"Yeah?" you breathe, now unable to keep your eyes from Ellie's mouth.
"Mm—yeah. A lot."

fem!artist!reader x ellie
<warnings> sexual ?tension ?, slight slight angst, swearing, UNEDITED!
i’ve been wanting to write some hcs/drabbles for a bit and am finally doing it!!. this is kinda self indulgent and i thought others might enjoy. i want to do fics, more hcs, and am CURRENTLY DOING REQUESTS/ASKS!!!!! so plssss interact/tell me what u think!!! —j
Ellie found value in her art mainly through its life and realism. Her sketchbook was merely snippets of her mind - the love, the fear, the humor, the darkness.
Aside from books she’s sparsely found, she hasn’t been exposed to much other forms of art.
When you appeared in Jackson, it barely took days for mentions of the new ‘town artist’ to reach her ears. Dina, fawning over a delicate set of earrings, “Ellie she makes them out of plants…or like…the sap? I don’t totally remember what she said but I swear she’s so freaking cool,”
Or when Jesse came strolling in, rambling about this tiny dagger ring he now has, made out of an old spoon.
“Look I didn’t even buy it alright? Dina won’t stop talking about this chick who makes like…jewelry..I guess? Now I’ve got probably the shortest range weapon known to man,” he finished, smiling.
The final straw was when Ellie came home from a patrol late one night, achy and worn, to a tiny box sitting on her mattress.
As she peered closer, she saw a note hastily taped to the side. It read:
“Hey its Dina. I saw something and it made me think of you. I may have blabbed about you to the artist and she knows who you are now. Oops. She said she wants to see your drawings. Don’t hate me.”
Ellie felt her body suddenly become more achy and more tired. Of course. She didn’t want to get involved in this bullshit, some newcomer wooing all her friends with useless junk. Although, the thought that Dina got her a gift blurred her annoyance to a degree.
Ellie’s fingers tore through the wrapping on the outside, flipping the lid to reveal a small, bone colored pendant strung with a brown braided cord. As she peered closer, the pendant became a moon; It’s face, immaculately tiny, smiling subtly.
The necklace was far too obstructive for Ellie to wear at all, honestly. Dina probably knew this when she got it. But the pendant truly is beautiful. An entirely different art form. A different show of care - of talent. The detail allows her to comfortably sit in her room and study it quietly for another ten minutes.
Ellie sat hunched the next morning, eating something bland for breakfast, only clad in a loose sports bra and some sweatpants.
A knock heightened her soggy mood.
“Are you fucking- I went out yesterday there’s no fucking reason to be knocking on my door at—”
Jesus. There is no mistaking it, Ellie thinks. This is you.
Your hair is intertwined with beads, some homemade and some foraged from the looks of it. Dozens of necklaces, layered and tangled around your neck. The same can be said for both of your wrists. Your ears, pierced up the sides and looped with beads, charms, and other metal pieces.
It was like you were a display for the things on your body. Except, no, Ellie thinks, your face stands out amongst it all. Somehow, with all of the things covering you, your beauty is the most noticeable.
It does nothing to quell how annoyed Ellie is, however.
“Who are you,” Ellie quips(knowing full well who you are). “and what do want.”
“I’m sorry- am I intruding? I really didn’t want to bother you or anything!” You rush, suddenly embarrassed.
“I’m y/n, I just moved here. Dina just said that you might have some extra pencils and stuff that I could borrow if I ran out?” You say, hoping desperately you can save this first impression.
“I mean…” Ellie uncrosses her arms and brushes some hair behind her ear.
“Yeah, you can use some shit. I have enough to share. I didn’t know Dina told you that, so. My bad. For being…rude.” She adds, opening the door even wider. You see her muscles flex as her arms extend and curse yourself for even noticing.
“Oh it’s fine, really!” You say, making sure to remember this about Dina. Also making sure to avert your eyes from the dangerously low cut of Ellie’s sweatpants. Her careless movements are really making you nervous.
Ellie gestures for you to enter, abruptly grasping your shoulder when you don’t move as fast as she would like. She begins to walk you farther into the room.
“You do realize it’s 6 a.m. right? What do you need pencils for at 6 a.m.?” She says, staring you directly in the eyes.
“Ah, well, I guess you’re not a morning type of creator?”
“No.” Ellie sternly remarks. “I’m not.”
She turns around to start walking away.
Starting to feel like a pest, you quickly try to think of something else to change the subject.
“Y’know…I think a ring would look really nice on your hands. Or fingers- I guess.”
That’s a nice compliment right? Or did I just say something fucking insane? You think.
Ellie straightens, slowing her pace a bit.
“I could make you a ring? Like as a trade? For the…pencils?” You say.
She turns.
“Yeah…Sure…” Her hands fall on her hips.
“How do you know how big to make it,” Ellie says. “The ring.”
“Well, what I’ve been doing is using this like, bendy piece of plastic to—well, hold on,” you pause, grabbing her hand to demonstrate.
Ellie’s eyes snap to yours in an instant, invisibly clouding your brain with something warm and fuzzy. You feel her hand flex in yours.
“uh…yeah, so I use this,” you reach into your pocket. “and I wrap it around whichever finger, like middle or ring finger.”
You instinctively wrap it around her ring finger, matching up the lines and moving your head in close to see which number lines up. You feel her figure move closer to you, almost hovering over you as you work.
“aaaand it looks like you’re a size….9” you mumble, running your hands along the base of her fingers before shyly retrieving yourself from touching her, remembering the situation.
Before you can move, Ellie snatches both of your wrists, bringing them in between the both of you. Her eyes intimately gloss over your rings.
“Hold up, could I try on one of yours?”
Your face colors. You couldn’t really explain, but something about the way she’s gripping your hands makes the blood in your body heat up.
“I…yeah, yes. But these are gonna be like…pinky rings for you.” You say, hands fumbling to take off one of your rings for Ellie to try on. Your palms are getting sweatier each time she touches you.
“What?”
“Your fingers are bigger than mine. So,” you take your ring and attempt to place it on her finger. “it only fits…” Ellie’s eyes track your hands. “…on your pinky. There. See? Pinky ring.”
“Oh.” She says. Her gaze still hasn’t left your hands, almost like she’s noticing them for the first time.
You misread her quietness as some sort of sadness.
“Hey, your hands aren’t that much bigger than mine- I know a lot of girls who just have bigger ring sizes. It’s not like- a thing. To feel bad about, or anything.”
Ellie says nothing. Her mouth twitches.
“Your hands are nice. I think..”
She looks up, a laugh bubbling out slightly. Finally, she stops you.
“I don’t mind having big hands.” She looks at you with something weird, something extra.
“They’re not really that big…” You joke, thankful that Ellie has seemed become less irritated with your presence. You notice the wirey veins tracing between her fingers and lining the backs of her hands.
“Yeah?” She questions. “Wanna compare?”
The way shes smiling at you puts a fiery ball in your stomach. It gets hotter as you realize she will not stop looking at you.
“Wow you really can’t take your eyes off my hands, huh? You really want to make me a ring that bad?” She says. Something in her tone makes you pulse between your thighs.
“Oh- I don’t mean to stare. I’m sorry.” You utter, trying to regain your composure.
This is not the Ellie you were taking to before. You felt…vulnerable, now. Your shirt felt thin, it had you rethinking your bralessness. Your shorts felt…short. It felt like the exposed parts of you were burning under the possibility of being seen by Ellie.
“No, I think you mean to.” She continues, “Because you’ve been staring this whole time.”
She’s found you out. You tried your best to be subtle about the yearning, the pull you felt, the way you’ve been just a little breathless ever since you’ve walked through the door.
But you failed.
“It’s really cute, the way you say you like my hands cause of the ring thing.”
She grabs your chin gently and rubs her thumb just under your mouth.
“…But. Be honest.” She stops. Her other hand starts to inch up your leg. You barely notice until her hand brushes the hem of your shorts.
“They just turn you on.”
Your eyes flip wide open, as does your mouth.
“You can pretend it’s some sort of artistic muse thing, but I think…” Ellie tucks a strand of hair behind your ear before leaning in closely near your neck. “you just want to be touched.”
Your silence is encouraging to her, it seems. The way your eyes have glossed over and cheeks gone red also let her continue,
“Yeah, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Have you been waiting for someone to ask you that?” Her eyes flit between your lips and the outline of your pebbled nipples under your shirt.
“For someone to give their fingers to you?”Ellie only grins. She’s pleased, excited, at your inexperience.
“I- I don’t know what to say,” you sputter.
The hand on your thigh tightens, causing you to squeeze your legs ever so slightly. You focus on meeting Ellie’s gaze and not closing your eyes to relish in the contact.
“Do you want me to touch you?” She asks.
Her eyes gaze so heavily at your mouth, it’s difficult to remember to speak.
“Cause I really want to touch you. Please?” Both of her hands are now trailing up and down your thighs, almost frantically, tugging at the bottom of your shirt and messing with the hem.
You know that she can now see your bare breasts, pushing through the fabric of your top. Ellie’s hands grope your waist and your ass suddenly slides forward from the force, your breasts pressing up against hers in an instant. The heady exhale she groans out blows past your neck. The warmth gives you shivers.
“Yes, touch me.” You say,
hoping wholly to god that it won’t be the last time you say it.
