This was commissioned by a friend of mine, the prompt being the local legendary cryptid, the Cecil County Pig Woman.

The Cecil County Pig Woman is a chilling legend from Maryland folklore, particularly associated with the area around Rising Sun (where I live), Elkton, and North East. The story often begins with a tragic event—a farmhouse fire in the 19th century, where the lady of the house was severely burned and fled into the woods. Over time, tales emerged of her haunting the area, with drivers reporting eerie encounters near old bridges. Some claim their cars stall, and the Pig Woman appears, scratching and beating on the vehicle. Those who flee their cars are said to vanish, while those who stay are left with unsettling memories and mysterious scratches or dents on their vehicles.

The legend has deep roots in European folklore, with similar stories of women with pig-like faces circulating in 19th-century London. Despite these connections, the Pig Woman remains a unique figure in Southern ghost lore. Her story has been passed down through generations, becoming a staple of Maryland's haunted tales.

and here's the thing: I know exactly what the Inuzuri equivalent to Fierro Viejo is because it shows up in Fade to Black. There's this scene where Ichigo and Renji have gone to Inuzuri looking for clues to where Rukia might be. Despite all of Ichigo's best efforts, he can't get Renji to remember Rukia, and then this happens:

Rukia has been erased from the fabric of Soul Society, but the water seller hawking patter turns Renji glassy-eyed and sends him directly to Rukia-flashback-town.

As for how this could possibly become a meme within the Seireitei: I blame the film festival.
