Note
little roman whos arguing with virge and virgil gets too harsh because roman was acting slightly bratty and roman slips into babyspace quick and starts crying?
A/N: Idk if this is exactly what you wanted, I didn’t want to write to much of them arguing so I just jumped straight in! Btw, I wrote like half of this a while ago and since I was already writing, I decided to finish it! I do requests sometimes y’all.
it’s less than 1000 words, but I still thought it was cute.
The Tiniest Royal- Agere!AU (part 40)
"Roman, no." Virgil looked at the child-like boy in front of him, who pouted and kicked his leg out a bit. Virgil could admit, he was acting more like a bratty toddler than a kid, meaning he was slightly younger then usual. Roman wore a white shirt with black overalls, his hair slightly fluffy instead of neatly done as it is usually.
"But VeeVee-" Virgil cut off his defying statement, giving him a stern look. They were currently in the kitchen, Roman sitting at the end of the table, with Virgil next to him. Roman had been pushing tiny things all morning, whatever Virgil said no to. This was fairly normal behavior for the little prince, but it surely was tiring. Roman was currently fighting to drink iced coffee.
He was around five or six mentally, and he was asking for mocha coffee? Any responsible caregiver would've said no to this request. Janus and Logan were gossiping about who-knows-what by the sink, glancing over and watching Roman's brattiness in amusement.
"I said no, now stop being a brat, and eat your breakfast like I asked you too." Virgil spoke in a snappy, harsh voice. He expected that he might need to comfort the boy a bit after being that harsh, but he definitely didn't expect any tears.
Janus and Logan watched, not knowing what would happen next. Roman didn't reply at first, and Virgil assumed he had given up. He took Roman's spoon from his bowl of yogurt, taking a spoonful, grabbing Roman's hand lightly. He place the spoon in his hand, silently telling him to eat.
Roman glanced up at Virgil with glassy eyes, dropping the spoon back in the bowl and wiping at his eyes quickly. Realization dawned on Virgil, and he felt terrible for making him cry. With Roman, sometimes the only way to get him to listen is to be a bit harsh, and then be soft and praise him when he listened. This usually worked, because Virgil made sure not to be to harsh, and the "scary daddy voice" usually just earned an apology from Roman. Then Virgil would go back to being soft and it wasn't a problem.
It wasn't an issue when Roman was seven or eight, but it became a problem when Roman felt like a toddler, at oldest five. And what he refused to tell Virgil, was that he was on the verge of babyspace anyways, and he had already been forcing himself to stay as old as he could. He sniffled, seemingly closing is on himself.
"No, no, no, no, no. Come here baby." Virgil pushed his chair back a bit, reaching over and helping Roman out of his seat. He pulled Roman onto his lap, Roman immediately cuddling up to him and burying his head in his chest. Logan watched in curiosity and confusion.
"When he's little, he doesn't do that. He doesn't cry until Virgil puts him in timeout. And plus, he tends to just hug Virgil if he does get upset, not cuddle into his chest." Logan spoke quietly to Janus.
"He might feel younger than usual," Janus explained. Logan nodded, considering the possibility.
Virgil immediately started running his fingers through Roman's hair, trying to calm him down. It didn't seem to be working, so Virgil sat him up so that he was looking at him, meaning Roman didn't have the option of hiding away in his caregivers chest. Virgil knew that Roman was definitely really small now, just based off the way he burst into tears and his demeanor change.
"I'm sorry that I was so harsh on you, sweetie. I'm not mad at you, at all." Roman didn't seem quite convinced of Virgil's words,  biting on his thumb as if he wanted to suck on it. "You're such a cute and sweet baby, I could never be mad at you." Virgil leaned forward, kissing his forehead.
"Hmm," Roman didn't reply verbally, humming and nodding a bit.
"You're such a good baby, and I love you so much. Why didn't you tell me you felt so tiny today, baby prince?" he continued to play with his hair, listening as Roman's breaths slowed and he seemed to slowly stop crying.
"big, m' possed to be bigger!" he whined a bit.
"You're not 'supposed' to be anything, you can be a tiny baby if that's what your little brave heart desires, tiny royal. Now, let's get some breakfast in your tummy, okay?" Virgil offered, looking at him. Roman nodded. Virgil went to move him from his lap, and the baby boy immediately melted into him more, refusing to move.
"Alright then, darling. We'll do it this way," Virgil chuckled, adjusting Roman a bit so that he could feed him but still allow him to sit on his lap.
Logan and Janus didn't verbally question it, but they were wondering one thing. Since when did Roman regress to baby ages? That was not mentioned ever at any point. But, they didn't say anything aloud in favor of allowing Virgil to take care of the boy.
Question later, observe and call the baby cute now.
Virgil fed Roman, calling him all sorts of cutesy nicknames and praising him about every little thing, making him blush and giggle, until suddenly, he didn't remember why he had been crying in the first place.
Baby Roman only made rare appearances, but Virgil loved caring for him while he was in that state. Babying him endlessly was one of his favorite things ever. He loved his baby boy, even if taking care of him was a bit of a hassle sometimes.
No matter what, Virgil cared about Roman.
And nothing would ever change that.

Discussions and Observations- Agere!Sides AU (pt.34)
a/n: okay so after this chapter there will be a chapter or two focusing around Remus learning about the others littlespaces and such, and that’s all I’m gonna reveal. I have a plan though, that spans over about five chapters that lowkey focus on Remus and Janus, then there is gonna be a whole other hing that I’m SO EXCITED FOR. So, be prepared for that.
Also, give a lot of thought to Janus and Virgil’s discussion in the first part of this chapter...it’ll give you the opportunity to make some predictions about some upcoming plotlines. Specifically Janus mentioning the so called “neutral sides”, and his question about Thomas.....
--
All the sides could admit that everything was soft of hectic and confusing. No, there wasn't anything wrong, exactly, but there was just a lot going on at once. Janus hung out with the core sides during the day, and went back to the dark sides tower at night. Remus was starting to question why he was never told anything about these visits.
Remus might've known about Janus, but Janus wasn't going to out the others on their regression.
Janus was still regretting telling everyone a bit. With Patton he slipped up, with Logan he was just careless, and he wasn't mad at Patton for telling Roman. Patton explained what had happened and he got it. He was just second guessing it, getting the anxious after feeling that they were judging him, even if it made no sense. They didn't push him though. They were pretty open about their littlespaces, but they didn't make him open up about his before he was ready.
No one but Virgil knew his age range, his interests, what he was like while little. He kept it all locked up. Virgil was sure that eventually, he wouldn't be able to repress his regression anymore, and he'd slip casually during a normal day. They'd have to wait and see.
As for Janus meeting the regressed sides, he actually interacted pretty well with them. Little Roman didn't like him a ton, but they did color together. Regressed Logan was curious about his scales, and Janus answered every question he had, and even let him touch that side of his face. The boy was just curious, and Janus was willing to respond to that curiosity. For Patton, he was pretty good at understanding when he wanted something, just based off of noises and motions he made while nonverbal.
So, all in all, thing were going pretty well, it was just a lot at once.
Janus had arrived at in the core side commons pretty early in the day on this particular day. Roman was brainstorming ideas in his room. Little Patton and Logan were taking a nap in the caregiver's room, so Virgil and Janus were left to hang out. "Here," Virgil handed him a buttered piece of toast, a slice of his own in his hand.
"Thank you, your Emo Dorkiness," Janus did a slight mock-bow, as best as he could from his spot sitting on the table. Again, chairs are for the weak.
Virgil chuckled and rolled his eyes, pulling the chair closest to Janus from it spot, and taking a seat. "Okay, I know everyone has been avoiding this topic forever, but when are we gonna tell Remus?" Janus blurted out after a couple long moments of silence.
"I don't know how he'd act around us while regressed, I'm worried he'll be weird." Virgil objected, taking a small bite from his toast.
"After he found my pacifier and I explained everything to him, there were multiple times were he'd stumble upon me while regressed. He'd always, kind of falter and change his attitude. It's not like super caring, or affectionate, but none of his usual weird shenanigans. He'd just ask if I was okay, and if I needed anything, and then leave me alone." Janus offered, shrugging.
"So he's not terrible with littles, he actually has a filter? I guess that's good to know.  I mean, eventually he'll find out, I don't know if we can avoid it. But based off of our theory, we think he'll turn out to be a regressor too," Virgil groaned. "I feel like Little Remus will be a disaster and a half."
"So you're guy's theory is that we all regress, because of Thomas holding onto his inner child or whatever? This includes all the dark and neutral sides?" Janus finished off his toast once completing his statement.
"I don't know about the neutrals. I still don't understand them completely." Virgil had once again, forgotten about the existence of the two neutral sides. Sleep and Empathy, they were originally characters that Thomas created for skits or youtube videos that weren't meant to be sides, but somehow, like the rest of them, they became sides. All you need to be considered a side, or figment of Thomas, is to represent a part of him, or have a job within his mind.
Remy had the job of controlling Thomas's sleep schedule, he was effected by the other sides a lot. Virgil and Remy had conflicts quite a bit, but they hadn't talked in a while. Remy kinda just hung out, in The Vineyard Village, with Emile in their little cottage. The Dark Sides nor the Core Sides really knew them, at all.
Emile was the source of Thomas's empathy, and he also sort of shared the job of inner-child with Patton. Emile wasn't bad, but he wasn't a core side because he wasn't a main part of Thomas's personality. He was just kind of there, and only stepped in when needed, from a distance. He didn't leave the mindscape much.
"Okay, kind of off topic, but if we all really do regress...wouldn't Thomas regress too?" Janus questioned. Janus was asking a question that would matter later on, but at the moment, Virgil didn't know how to respond.
"Maybe? I'm not really sure," Virgil ate the last of his toast, thinking. "We'll find out eventually, I suppose. I don't know if that's how it works-"
"Veevee?" Roman's little voice shocked Virgil. He was just big, working on a project for Thomas and brainstorming, a little bit ago.
"Hello there, you finished your brainstorming?" Virgil spoke softly, opening his arms up and welcoming Roman for a hug.
"Yeah, got ideas for Thomas to make tomorrow! But now I'm bored, playtime?" he tilted his head. Janus gave Virgil a glance that seemed to read 'we'll continue this conversation later'.
Roman switched his mindset quickly, he must have gotten stressed with the work, or he had lacked inspiration. Either way, Virgil and Janus's discussion of the theoretical possibilities of Thomas being a little, along with the possibility of Remus, the neutral sides, and the unknowns also being regressors, was put on hold.
"How about we just watch some cartoons today?" Virgil offered. Roman was apparently not afraid to act out in front of Janus.
"No, wanna play! Color with me!" he stomped his foot, then faltering and giving a apologetic soft look. "Please? Didn't mean to yell, no throwing fits." he shook his head at himself, mimicking what Virgil would've said to him at the end of his statement.
"I'll color with you, honey. Good job on remembering to use your manners," Virgil sighed. Roman was trying his best. Roman reached up to get a hug, which Virgil gave into immediately, snuggling him close before letting him go back to his room to gather coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and stickers. Basically all the art supplies needed to create a masterpiece, in the mind of a five year old, at least.
"You guys all just regress, whenever you want to?" Janus seemed a little jealous.
"Basically. I mean, if we have work we prioritize it. But Roman brainstormed some things, which is all he needed to do. I thought you said Remus didn't really care, doesn't that mean you could regress whenever, too?"
"It's still scary, though." Janus looked down, swinging his feet a bit.
"When was the last time you regressed?" Virgil asked in curiosity, causing Janus's head to shoot up.
"Uh...when you came to the tower after Easter," Janus admitted. He knew Virgil was probably gonna tell him is was bad to repress his headspace for that long, because there was no way he just didn't regress for that long. He had been pushing down his littlespace.
"You know, you don't have to be scared with us. We won't judge you, and I can take care of you," Virgil assured, Janus going silent and looking back down at his feet. He swung them again, in a childlike way.
"I know. I just...it's hard to open up, and be the vulnerable and cutesy in front of everyone. I know it's not bad to act like that, and that it helps me and I shouldn't prevent myself from using that coping skill. But it's still hard to let myself be like that, because you guys know me as this evil snake side-"
"Janus."  Virgil cut him off in a stern voice, "Just in the past weeks alone, you've show all of us that you're much more than that. You're caring, understanding, and dorky. And I have a feeling that the other core sides will like Little Janus, too." Virgil gave a soft smile.
Janus gave a thankful hum, "You think so?" he tilted his head. Virgil nodded.
Janus knew he was very close to letting himself slip in that moment. He didn't, he pulled himself out of the foggy-childlike headspace and allowed himself to focus on other things, but he did take Virgil's reassuring words to heart. Okay, yeah, he was still anxious about the whole thing, but maybe he'd let himself regress in front of the others soon.
Maybe.
Janus was snapped out of his thoughts when Virgil spoke in a very confused tone. "Remus? What are you- Go away!" Virgil shouted at him, exiting the kitchen and entering the commons where Remus popped up.
"I'm not here to do any harm! Everyone is here, and running around the imagination on my own is getting boring...I was gonna ask Roman if he wanted to resume our adventure plot.." Remus seemed to be telling the truth. He just didn't wanna be alone, and being with his brother sounded nice.
Of course, to add to the confusion, this is when Roman walked out of the hall where the bedrooms were, holding his stack of childish art supplies. Virgil seemed to have calmed down, but Roman looked so confused and scared in that moment. Roman took a second to process the situation before making a snapping motion and making the art supplies disappear. He was now wearing his usual prince attire, with a different posture.
Compared to the others, Roman was the best at pulling himself out of his headspace on command. He didn't like to, and it was difficult to remain out of his littlespace after forcing himself out of it, but it was something he could do if needed.
"What's going on out here? Patton and I just got up and you guys talk loud- Oh!" Logan had exited his room, holding the deeply regressed Patton, who was obviously still waking up and slightly sleepy. Logan looked at Remus, not knowing what to do.
Patton buried his head in Logan's chest, trying to avoid the whole situation. "Wait," Remus looked between Roman, then Janus, and then Patton. He seemed to be thinking.
"Oh, oh!  I got it! Patton and Roman are regressors, like Janus!" he seemed proud of himself for coming to that conclusion. "Oh, I'm sorry! Was I not supposed to know?" he looked between the others, who were all in silence.
"Not really. But, if you already knew about Janus, I-i guess it doesn't matter." Even Logan seemed to be confused. It was just bad timing on everyone's part. But also, no one expected Remus to react so calmly.
"I guess it explains why Roman is randomly unavailable, and why Janus always seems to be leaving parts out when he tells me about his visits here." Remus shocked Logan with how he logically put things together, and Roman just seemed relieved that he was accepting. Patton had lifted his head.
"Yeah, but about the adventure thing, I can go! I'm not in my headspace anymore, and it'll give me a chance to explain everything to you, yeah?" Roman offered.
"Isn't it like, not good to pull yourself out of your headspace forcefully, if you can avoid it? I'm not completely sure on that, but I feel like that's a thing..." Remus looked at Janus, looking back to Roman, who shrugged.
"I already pulled myself out, so I might as well just go with you."
"Wait, where did you learn about that? The effects of repressing regression?" Logan questioned.
"Janus, mostly. I found out about him, and we talked a few times about it," Remus shrugged, seemingly careless about the whole situation. "Wait, is it just the three of them? Or are you and Virgil littles too?"
They had a lot to explain to him.

“We’re Proud of You, Little Prince.”- Little Vlogs (Chapter Nine)
A/N: I'm sorry I don't update this story enough I'm t r Y I NG y'all. Please leave comments/send asks with your thoughts on this chapter if you'd like too!
Chapter Summary: Patton and Roman regress together while filming a video. Roman accidentally upsets Patton by beating the boy in a coloring challenge, and he helps Patton as best as he can. When the video is over and done with, Virgil and Logan express how proud they are of him through praise and affection.
--
Logan stood behind the camera tripod, filming Patton and Roman. It seemed that over time, Patton's video-making process evolved to include the other three men more and more.
It also seemed that Roman and Virgil never wanted to leave Patton's house. They stayed there most of the week, and even began to adapt to helping Patton and Logan with things like chores and cooking around the house. Roman and Virgil both had clothes and hygiene items stored in the home, and they often had issues where they'd leave important things at Patton's house. Considering the fact that Virgil, Roman, and Logan all work together, them staying over during a work week was easily manageable.
Patton got sad whenever the three other boys left, but each of them would give him a quick kiss and tell him they'd see him later. If he was little, he'd get a kiss on the forehead, and a reminder from Logan to text him if he needed anything. Leaving Little Patton alone was easily one of Logan least favorite things about working, he knew he could trust Patton to remain in a partially big headspace to do things himself, but it was still worrying. Knowing Patton was simply thinking like a child, and he was left alone. But Patton always insisted that it was completely fine, that he could be his babyish self without extra help.
Patton huffed, throwing his crayon down on his coloring book and crossing his arms. Virgil seemed fairly shocked by this action. Patton and Roman sat in front of the couch on the carpet, coloring in coloring books for some challenge. They were being timed, both of them using the same coloring book. They'd agree on a page to do, and then start the round. Virgil and Logan were the judges, they'd talk and agree on a vote of who did the best, and they'd get the point for that round.
Patton was growing more and more frustrated as each round passed, Roman winning each time. Patton couldn't stay inside the lines, his crayons kept breaking, and on top of all that, Virgil suggested that they shortened the time limit so that the rounds went by quicker. It was like they were plotting against him or something.
Or maybe, he was falling into toddlerspace and his mind was perceiving the situation a million times more dramatically then it actually was.
Logan let out a small gasp, zooming the camera into Patton's face before talking. "Is the baby throwing a fit?" he was only teasing, but the boy pouted, uncrossing his arms. Patton immediately pulled his sweater sleeves over his hands, giving himself sweater paws (something he stole from Virgil). He continued on to use said sweater paws to cover his face shyly.
Virgil paused the timer on his phone, looking at Roman. Roman dropped his crayon, resting his hands on the table. "Oh, Patton. I'm sorry, I was only teasing," Logan apologized quickly, Patton looking up behind the camera and nodding. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" Logan spoke softly, in a comforting voice that made Patton feel a bit better. It was easy to tell that Patton was upset, mostly frustrated, with a game that seemed impossible to win.
Virgil scooted closer to Patton, so that he was behind him. He hesitantly reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder, rubbing it a bit. Patton seemed started by the sudden touch, but he let go of the tenseness from his body. Virgil moved from the couch to the floor, sitting next to Patton instead. Patton uncovered his face, looking at Logan before replying.
"I'm losing, Daddy! M' bad at this and my crayons keep breaking and I can't color good and-" he stumbled over his words, taking just a second to catch his breath before continuing on with his rambling. "and I wanna give up, it's too much." he paused, pushing the coloring book away from him, "Don't like it."
"If you don't like losing challenges, maybe you shouldn't have us do them for videos." Roman commented, Virgil looking at Roman around Patton's head. Roman wasn't little, but Virgil still gave him a stern look.
"He's usually fine with challenges, but today he's obviously little and more emotional. That isn't his fault and you aren't gonna treat him like it is, Roman." Virgil was quick to reply, and Roman immediately looked down.
"Sorry, Vee. And Pat." He quickly muttered an apology before Logan spoke. "It's alright, Roman. I think Patton's just a bit overwhelmed." Logan assured, Roman nodding before Patton made grabby hands, reaching for affection from the man behind the camera. "Baby, I'm recording this video for you!" Logan reminded. Patton pouted, looking about ready to cry at this point.
"Patton, no! Look, look, look! I help you color!" Roman pulled the coloring book back so that it was closer to Patton, pushing his pile of crayons over so that  they mixed with Patton's pile. No one could care less about whether the crayons stayed separated or not. Patton was distracted, watching what Roman was doing.
Roman was talking openly in a sweet toddler-like voice, he probably felt bad for upsetting Patton so much and overwhelming him. Now, he just wanted to make it all better.
Logan and Virgil thought it was sweet, so they simply watched it play out. Roman felt bigger then Patton did, by far, but still little. Roman looked at the barely-colored page Patton had started, a page with a animated cupcake and lots of hearts on it. Patton had tried to color in a heart, and went a bit outside the lines, which is what lead him to throw his pastel-pink crayon down in frustration.
"what color do you want the hearts to be, Patton?" Roman asked softly, guiding him by separating the reds, oranges, and pinks from the rest of the crayons. Patton was distracted, no longer reaching for hugs from his caregiver, but following whatever Roman was saying. Virgil turned off his phone, it was obvious that they weren't gonna go back to the challenge now.
Patton softly pointed to a pink crayon, looking up at him. "Okay, you do pinks, and I'll do reds. We'll do the hearts first," Roman explained, picking out the shade of pink that Patton wanted, along with a few others (Logan got Patton the large pack, there were many shades of pink.) Then, Roman got himself the red crayons.
"Which hearts do you want me to do?" Roman asked, not wanting to take over to much. Patton shrugged, so Roman ended up making the choice anyways. "Okay! So the ones I put a dot on are the ones I'm doing, and the rest are yours, okay?" Patton seemed to understand, already grabbing a crayon and starting.
As they went, Roman reminded him that he didn't need to rush. He showed him his technique of outlining darkly and filling in the inside. Patton's wasn't quite as good, but he still did okay. Logan still filmed, not sure if Patton would scrap the video or not. Either way, it was cute and he wanted the video even if Patton didn't post it.
By the time they were done with the page, Patton was rubbing at his eyes sleepily. "We just gotta end the video sweetheart, then you can take a nap." Logan reminded. Patton didn't even attempt to say his outro, sleepily waving at the camera.
"Bye bye!" he giggled a bit, Logan shutting off the camera after his final adorable remark. Logan went off to put the sleepy little down for a nap, and Virgil busied himself by talking to Roman, who moved to sit on the couch.
"Hello, darling. How do you feel?" Virgil questioned, sitting next to him and lightly wrapping his arm around him.
"Small," Roman replied quickly, settling his head into his chest and curling up next to him.
"Yeah? Well you're very cute when your small." Virgil chuckled, before speaking again. "Y'know, jumping in and helping Patton color was very nice of you." he praised, and Roman smiled a bit.
"Really?" he asked, sitting up a bit to look at his purple-haired caregiver.
"Yeah, he was upset and you helped him calm down. It was really kind, Little One." Virgil smiled at him. Logan came down the stairs at that moment, and grinned at the sweet sight that was Roman cuddling with Virgil.
"He passed out the moment I tucked him into bed. He was asleep after a single forehead kiss." he chuckled, coming and sitting down on the other side of Roman. "And while the baby is asleep, we have a slight older kiddo to care for, isn't that right?" he looked over Roman's head with a knowing smile, Virgil returning it.
"Yeah, I was just telling that kiddo all about how proud I am of him for helping Patton." Virgil gave a slight nod, looking down with a smile at the boy cuddled up to him.
"Pwoud of me?" Roman mumbled happily, in a slightly littler voice than before.
"Of course, you did such a good job!" Virgil played into the fact that he was regressing younger, praising him. Roman squealed, burying his head into his carers chest once more.
"Awe, is the Little Prince feeling a bit tinier?" Logan teased a bit, reaching over and softly running his fingers through his hair. Virgil heard a light whine, and though he couldn't see his face, he knew he was pouting into his chest.
"He just being shy because we're telling him how good of baby he is, aren't you baby?" Virgil took over the job of running his fingers through Roman's hair once Logan pulled his hand away. Roman sat up, bringing his thumb to his mouth with a soft pout.
"No, no, no. That's not good for you, sweetheart." Logan corrected him by lightly pulling his hand away from his mouth. Roman seemed confused, a look of childlike innocence and wonder taking over his face. "Would you like to try one of the pacifiers you made? We said a while ago that you'd try it and you never did." Logan pointed out. He glanced at Virgil who nodded.
Roman hummed a bit, now leaning into Virgil's side, but not cuddling into him or burying his head into his chest. "Okay, I'll go get some stuff for you, alright? But I just wanted to make sure that you knew that I'm proud of you for helping Patton. You did a good job." Logan gave him a warm smile that made Roman feel so happy. He giggled lightly when Logan kissed his forehead.
Logan got up, going back up the stairs to retrieve the little gear he mentioned before. After a few moments, Virgil spoke real soft, continuing to play with Roman's hair as the boy seemingly enjoyed that form of affection.
"Did you hear that, baby boy? We're proud of you, Little Prince."
Logan and Virgil spent a little while after this babying Roman, until he eventually fell asleep. Patton woke up before Roman did, and sat down to watch a movie. Roman woke up too and joined in on the movies and cuddles.
Maybe the four of them were new to being in romantic situation with more than one partner, maybe the littles were adjusting to having multiple carers right there for them all the time. But even though it was new to them, they were adjusting well. Becoming closer and building their four way bond.
How much longer until they put a title on this relationship of theirs?

{Chapter 5- When The Other Brother is Bigger}//Soft, Cute, and Far Smarter Than You (Sanders Sides Agere/CGLRE)
A/N: This chapter is like, longer then most of the ones I tend to write? I write agere content for fun, so sometimes it's cuteness over quantity, y'know? But this is a whole 4600-ish words! Wow. Hope y'all like it!
--
Logan was a bit awkward when he was big again after throwing his first fit, and earning himself his first ever timeout. Of course, Patton could only comfort him so much. It wasn't guilt that he was feeling, but rather a form of embarrassment.
Logan's head shot up when he heard light knocking on his door the following afternoon. "Who is it?" he questioned from his spot at his desk, where he sat working on Thomas's schedule.
"It's Virgil, can I come in?"
Logan fully expected it to be Patton checking on him for the millionth time, so he was shocked when he heard the voice of the emo regressor. "Uh, yeah. Sure." Logan set down his pen softly, reaching forward for his mug and taking a sip.
"Are you drinking another cup of coffee? I know you had like, three this morning." Virgil narrowed his eyes. It wasn't as if he'd actually do anything, even if he was aware of the unhealthy amounts of coffee Logan drank, but he was still concerned.
"It's tea." Logan shook his head, tipping the cup in his direction so that he could see the clearish liquid before setting the mug back on his desk. "Did you need something, Virge?" Logan asked.
"Kinda of.." Virgil trailed off, sitting down on the end of Logan's bed. When he looked up, he saw Logan looking at him in an expecting silence. "So I know it's Patton's job to check in on you and stuff, and that I don't usually do this. But..are you okay after yesterday? You seemed really emotional and anxious."
Logan sighed before speaking. "Of course I'm fine. I just overreacted when Patton punished me because I was scared of him being mad at me. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but three year old me doesn't want to make sense."
Virgil chuckled a bit at that. "It does make a bit of sense though. I do it too, I assume that just because Roman has to be a little strict or something, that he absolutely hates me. It's not stupid or anything."
Logan nodded, giving him a small thankful smile. This was Virgil's way of telling him that he wasn't alone. The same mutual feeling that came about when they both realized they were regressors spread between them. A feeling of unity, of support.
Of family.
"And also, if you're embarrassed or anything, don't worry about it. I'm sure Patton understands that little you is going to do things like that sometimes, and he won't view big you any differently." There it was. Virgil finding what Logan was actually worried about. Logan had the urge to give a sigh of relief, because those were the words he needed to hear.
Instead, he gave a larger smile and thanked him. "Okay, cool. See you at dinner." Virgil got up and went to leave the room, he paused at the door with hesitancy, looking back at him and speaking quickly.
"Also, I'm like pretty sure Patton has a crush on big you. So there's that."
Virgil was gone and out of the room before Logan even got the chance to retort.
Logan sighed, going back to organizing the schedule and trying to convince himself that it couldn't possibly be true, and focus on his work. But no matter how hard he tried, his mind wondered and he thought:
What if Virgil was right?
--
"Oh, hello Logan. I went to check on you but I guess you were already up." Patton entered the living room, where Logan was on his phone. Patton assumed that if Logan was already up, he probably had work to get done today and wanted to be wide awake for it. He figured that the coffee mug on the coffee table in front of Logan confirmed his original thoughts.
"Morning, Dad. What are we having for breakfast?" he asked, looking up from his phone and making Patton pause in his tracks. Patton went to speak, but Logan quickly replied to his unasked question. "I'm fourteen again, by the way."
"How did you know that I was going to-"
"I figured you'd ask how old I am, you always do. Anyways, what's for breakfast?" he repeated. "I can try to make something myself but I don't know how well that would go..." he admitted.
"It's okay, don't worry about that." Patton assured, "I'll make toast for breakfast-" He went to keep speaking but Logan cut him off.
"Do we have Crofters to put on it?"
"You're just full of questions today, aren't you?" Patton teased, deciding to come sit with his regressor. He sat next to Logan, making sure not to look at his phone screen in order to respect his privacy. Logan turned it off, looking at him. Patton realized he wasn't amused by the teasing and that he wasn't going to respond. "Yes, we have Crofters." He gave up.
Logan was definitely excited about this, and if he was regressed younger, he would've bounced in place and giggled a bunch. But he just replied, "Okay, cool."
"Why are you up so early?" Patton questioned. "How long have you been awake?"
"Less than an hour. I just fell asleep watching Youtube last night, earlier then I usually go to sleep. So I woke up early," he explained. Patton paused, looking at him skeptically.
"Were you regressed last night, as well?"
Logan looked at him with wide eyes, as if he hoped he wasn't going to ask about that. "Uh..yeah, sort of. But it was after dinner and I was ready for bed, I didn't really need to come get you!" he defended.
Patton gave him a slightly stern look with a sigh. "Alright, but if you do need something, or regress younger then your teenspace, come and get me." he instructed. Logan nodded with an annoyed look on his face. Patton glanced at the coffee table, eyes widening when he saw the coffee mug again.
"Wait, why are you drinking coffee if your reg-"
"What coffee?" Logan cut him off, quickly snatching up the mug and chugging the last of it before Patton could take the mug. He wiped his upper lip with the back of his hand, giving Patton a dorky smile. Patton knew he shouldn't have, but he laughed a bit.
"Fourteen year olds shouldn't have coffee, no more." Patton took the mug from him softly. "If I catch you drinking anymore, you'll be in trouble." he threatened halfheartedly, still giving him the stern dad look. Logan immediately replied with a cheeky smile.
"You just won't catch me next time."
Patton seemed shocked. "You're gonna be bouncing off the walls whenever the caffeine kicks in, and I don't wanna be the one to deal with that."
"I mean..." Logan leaned back into the couch, "Do you have a choice? You're technically my only carer, and I've already drank it. And plus, I'm not a baby. Sugar and caffeine won't make me hyper." he scoffed at the end of his statement.
"We'll see about that, sweetheart." Patton gave him a skeptical look before getting up. "I'll go start breakfast, how about you get off your phone and do something else? Like read your comic books or something."
"I'll get off my phone..." Logan agreed quickly, shocking Patton. That excitement went away when Logan grabbed the tv remote and pushed the power button. He gave Patton a smile, while Patton gave him a disappointed look.
"That's not what I meant, and you know it." he said, crossing his arms as he watched him locate Netflix.
"I don't know anything. You told me to get off my phone, and in all technicality, I did." Logan started playing whatever show he was interested in at the time, and Patton leaned forward to kiss his forehead. He wasn't going to bother with pushing it anymore.
"Love you, Lo. I'll let you know when breakfast is ready."
He left, mug in his hand, disappearing into the kitchen. A little while later, he had butter, honey, and Crofters jelly sitting out on the table, along with a plate of stacked up pieces of toast.
"Babyyyy! Can you get Roman and Virgil for me?" He appeared in the door way of the kitchen, looking at whatever Logan was watching on the screen. Logan looked back at him, looking back to the screen after a few seconds of thinking.
"Maybe if you'd stop calling me baby."
"Logan." Patton stated in a simple and stern tone, crossing his arms again. Logan dramatically sighed, but he hopped up and headed up the stairs. "Thank you!" Patton called after him.
"Welcome, dad." Logan replied quickly, before he was completely up the stairs and heading toward the door of Virgil's room.
--
"Hi, Logan. Is it breakfast already?" Virgil swung the door open. The makeup under his eyes was smeared a bit, and he was still wearing black ripped jeans and a band t-shirt. He had fallen asleep in his clothes, and his hair was a bit messy.
"Yeah, Dad made toast for everyone. And he sent me to get you guys." Logan replied. Virgil went to open his mouth, probably to question if he was regressed due to his sue of the word 'dad', but Logan replied to his unasked question just like his did with Patton. "I'm fourteen again, before you ask about it."
Virgil gave an understanding nod. He walked back into his room, leaving the door open so that Logan could come in if he wanted to. "Okay dork, I was given the job of grocery shopping. If you want, and your caregiver doesn't care, you can come with me." Virgil offered as he picked up his hoodie that was balled up on a dark purple bean bag chair.
"Maybe if you didn't call me a dork, I'd consider it." Logan hesitantly entered the dark-styled room, his arms crossed.
"Oh come on, you're wearing a spiderman t-shirt and a beanie. You're either a nerd or a dork, take your pick." Virgil teased. Logan now wanted to cover up his shirt, and he pulled the black beanie off of his head. "Hey, wait. I didn't mean it like that," Virgil quickly finished pulling the hoodie on, and he came over to where Logan stood, taking the hat softly from his hands. "I was only teasing, dorky isn't bad, and the hat and shirt look good on you."
He pulled the hat back over Logan's head, patting his head. "I'm sorry I teased you," Virgil apologized.
"It's okay..." he looked up, so that he wasn't staring at the floor anymore, giving him a weak smile. His eyes wandered over Virgil's hoodie, but he didn't say anything.
"Do...do you want my jacket, buddy?" Virgil hesitated, but Logan nodded a little.
"I-is that okay?" he stuttered a bit, he couldn't place why he wanted it, it just looked comfortable. Maybe the fact that it also belonged to someone he considered his brother while regressed factored into it.
"Yeah, of course it's okay. Just make sure to give it back to me when you're big again, okay?" he pulled it off, handing it to Logan, who smiled. Virgil didn't usually give his hoodie to anyone, but the middle seemed to want it fairly badly and he knew that Logan would take care of it. Plus, he had his old hoodie to wear if he really wanted too.
"Go get Roman and head downstairs, okay? I'm gonna be down in a sec," Virgil told him. Logan nodded, leaving the room and pausing in the hallway to pull the jacket on.
"Roman, Roman, Roman!" he knocked on the door loudly between each time he called his name, "Breakfast is downstairs..." he spoke sheepishly when the door flew open and Roman gave him a stern look. Roman knew for a fact that he was at least somewhat regressed because of how energetically he woke him up.
"Did you have coffee or something?" he asked jokingly, rubbing at his eyes. Logan nodded quickly, and Roman seemed shocked. "Is your caregiver aware of this?"
Logan nodded again, "He doesn't like it, but he knows."
"Hmm, well please tone is down a bit while I'm still half asleep, okay? I need beauty sleep."
"Beauty sleep whatever, Dad sent me to wake you up." He stuck his tongue out at the end of his statement
"I'm assuming we're stuck with teen Logan again?" Roman questioned, running his fingers through his hair.
"Fourteen." Logan confirmed. Constantly confirming with others that he was in fact, in teenspace, reminded him that he was a teenager at the moment and that was okay.
"The sassiness and dorky beanie gave it away." he teased. Logan pouted, this was the second time his hat had been called dorky within the span of ten minutes. "Dorky isn't bad." Roman corrected quickly, just as Virgil had. Logan nodded, turning to walk away without another word.
"Logan, are you wearing Virgil's jacket?" Roman realized, looking at him.
Logan nodded shyly, turning back around to face him. "Hmm, that's cute. Just make sure not to stain it, or you'll never hear the end of it from Vee." he gave a reassuring smile, Logan nodding gratefully and walking off, for real this time. He had been worried that Roman was going to pick on him for taking Virgil's jacket.
Logan went downstairs, going into the living room to get his phone off of the coffee table. Once he had acquired this, he went into the kitchen and greeted Patton. "They should be heading down soon. Look! Virgil let me steal his jacket," he laughed a bit, doing a twirl for his caregiver.
"That was very nice of him. Did you say thank you?"  Patton asked, and Logan looked down.
"No, I didn't..." he sighed guiltily.
"Well, make sure you do at some point, okay?" Patton told him, coming closer to him and giving him a forehead kiss. Or at least, he tried to. Logan ducked away before he could, stepping to the side. Patton audibly gasped, looking at him. Logan giggled, sticking his tongue out like he did earlier to Roman.
"You're silly, kiddo." Patton shook his head, patting Logan's head softly before moving on to do something else. Logan pouted, because he expected Patton to go in for another forehead kiss after missing the first one, but he just kept going. Logan told himself that he was being a dork anyways, and that being playful was something for littler him, and that his caregiver didn't need to play along.
He didn't need to play, he was a teenager. He didn't need affection either, no hugs or cuddles or kisses.
But even as a teenager, Logan craved exactly that.
He watched Patton as he plated breakfast for himself, buttering the bread. Logan took action before he could stop himself, side hugging Patton by ducking under his arm. He wrapped his arms around his carer and laid his head on his chest. Patton chuckled, "Hello there, baby."
He dropped the butter knife back on his plate, and set the piece of bread down in favor of hugging Logan back. He hugged him tightly, Logan melting into the touch. "You know, you could just ask for a hug instead of attacking me."
"What hug? I don't need a hug," Logan replied, pulling away from him and grabbing a plate off of the stack on the table.
"The hug you just pulled away from..." Patton seemed confused.
"I never hugged you, dad. You're crazy," Logan kept going, making himself breakfast and acting as if he never hugged him. Patton brushed it off for now and didn't worry about it, because Virgil and Roman entered the kitchen.
Patton greeted them, and as they all sat down to eat, Virgil mentioned taking Logan to the store with him. "Um..well, I'm not sure if that's a good idea..." Patton admitted, setting his piece of toast down on his plate. Virgil seemed confused, as did Logan.
"Why not?" Logan questioned, looking at his caregiver with a confused glance.
"Well, I've never taken you outside of the house while regressed, I'm just worried that someone might see you acting younger and be mean." Patton explained, and Logan frowned.
"Logan's a teenager though, and I'll be there to help if anything like that happens. It's not like he'll throw a fit or anything, he's fourteen." Virgil argued.
"Last time he regressed to teenspace, he was so anxious that he practically threw a fit!" Patton snapped, not exactly shouting. He looked at Virgil with somewhat angry eyes. Patton never gave that look, unless someone he was protecting someone he cared about. Logan sunk down in his seat, zipping up Virgil's hoodie and hiding away from the world for the time being. Virgil raised his hands up in mock surrender before speaking.
"Patton, I'm sorry that I upset you, but please be mindful of Logan. You're probably scaring him by snapping." Virgil reminded. Patton's expression faded from anger to an apologetic look, and he looked toward Logan, who nodded a bit.
"Oh..I'm sorry sweetheart. And you too, Virgil...Just let me think about this and we'll talk after breakfast, okay?"
Virgil gave a nod of agreement, and Logan muttered a weak 'okay'.
--
Patton eventually agreed to let Logan go with Virgil, but not without a lot of convincing and second guessing his decision.
"Promise that you'll be nice to Virgil, and if you get to anxious-"
"Let Virgil know and step away to text you." Logan interrupted, pocketing his phone and looking at his dad. "I'm not a baby, and I'll be fine."
"Yeah, he's safe with me." Virgil assured, coming down the stairs, clad in his old hoodie and a pair of black ripped skinny jeans. "We're good, right?" he looked at Logan, double checking just to be sure.
Logan laughed, "We're good." he confirmed.
"Oh, okay. I love you both, be good," he looked at Logan, as if he needed the reminder, "And please be home before dinner."
Both boys nodded, taking their final hugs from Roman and Patton before heading out. Virgil let Logan sit in the passenger seat
The mindscape was set up to be a small, little town. It wasn't one that existed in the real world, but it was heavily based off of the real world and would change according to real world events. If they really wanted to, the mindscape extended past their imaginary town, it was a whole little world just inside Thomas's head.
"Okay, so I have a shopping list on my phone, and the grocery money we all pitch in for. Though I found that there's always a little extra money, so if you want an extra snack or whatever, go for it." Virgil spoke, stopping as they approached a red light. He looked around, his eye catching on a street sign as he assured himself that he was going the right way.
Logan nodded. He was usually the one to go on the grocery runs, so he already knew about how he slightly over estimated how much money they needed. He'd usually either buy something extra, a treat or dessert, or save it for the next shopping trip. They all got their limited allowance (for the whole 'realistic human life' thing), and they'd pitch in a certain amount of it to pay for food for their home.
"Is there anything you want for the store? That isn't already on the usual list, I mean?" Virgil asked. He was trying to start a conversation, but Logan was being quiet. That was the main reason he offered to take him with him for errands. Virgil wanted to spend more time with his newfound brother, though he'd never admit that out loud. Virgil and Logan regress together all the time, and there's been plenty of time where Logan is bigger than Virgil, but it's rarely the other way around.
Virgil wanted to know Logan more, and also earn his trust. Because it seemed that currently, the only person Teenage Logan really trusted, was Patton.
"I don't know, maybe one of those starbucks bottled frappe things?" Logan said hopefully, giving his, currently older, brother a look in the hopes that he didn't shoot it down immediately.
"Hmm, Patton wouldn't be to happy about that one...and if he found out, he'd be pretty mad at me." Virgil thought out loud, anxiously biting at his lip while he focused on the road. Logan sunk down in his seat in disappointment, immediately taking his hesitancy as a 'no' and looking out the window.
Virgil sighed, glancing at him for a split second before turning his head to examine the road in front of him. "I suppose...if you promise not to tell your caregiver, and you also don't get like, super hyper on me..." he pauses, taking a turn before continuing his conditional agreement, "You can get the coffee. But this is a one time thing, I don't condone littles-" Logan gave him a look.
"Middles?" he hesitantly corrected himself, glancing at Logan again.
"Or regressors." Logan nodded. Virgil hummed before continuing.
"I don't condone teenagers drinking a bunch of caffeinated drinks in one day. I know you had coffee this morning. But today's the exception, alright?"
Virgil was only agreeing to this because he wanted to make Logan happy. And he didn't quite mind stretching the rules just a bit to get there.
"Okay." Logan agreed, looking back out the window.
Virgil had a feeling that this would end up being a good day.
Or at least, he hoped it would.
--
"Virgil, I know I said I'd be okay..but I'm scared."
Virgil stopped in the middle of the cereal aisle, pulling the cart to the side so that people could walk through if they needed. Logan seemed ashamed to admit that, looking up at his, currently older, brother for support. Logan fiddled with the zippers on the cuffs of Virgil's jacket.
"What are you scared of, Logan?" Virgil spoke softly to him, in a voice that seemed to assure that he'd be ready to comfort him no matter what his answer.
"Dad was right, it's my first time going out while regressed and I feel..." he trailed off, his eyes following a cart as a family walked by the aisle. "I feel stupid. Like people are staring a me or something." He looked back at Virgil, who nodded.
"That's okay. I've never been out while regressed, but I'm sure it is a bit scary. I'm sorry that you aren't feeling the best, though." Virgil sighed, not quite knowing what to do. He thought for a moment before offering the best solution he could come up with. "How about you call Patton and talk to him while we shop? I think he'd be the best at comforting you right now."
Logan nodded lightly, pulling his phone out of his pocket. Virgil gave him a reassuring smile before pulling a few boxes of cereal from the shelf. As Virgil motioned for them to keep walking, Logan listened to his phone ring.
"Logan! Are you okay?" Logan winced at how loud Patton's voice seemed through the phone.
"Mhm, I'm okay. Just a bit anxious though...can you talk to me? I-i think it'd help." his voice was filled with hesitancy, but Virgil gave him a comforting look that silently told him 'good job'.
"Oh, yeah. I can talk to you. Do you wanna tell me why you're feeling anxious, baby?"
"I um...you were right," Logan fiddled with the zippers on Virgil's hoodie again, taking a turn into a aisle with bread and snacks. "I kinda started panicking the moment I got into the store. There's so many people, and so much noise. I'm just worried that I'm being judged, I guess." he hummed, glad that there was no one else in their aisle.
"I'm sure that everything is okay, sweetheart. Listen to me, not all the noise, okay?"
Logan nodded, then realizing that Patton couldn't see him through the phone. "Okay."
"Can you tell me what you guys have gotten so far?" Logan was confused by his caregivers request, but he looked in the cart as Virgil set something in it.
"We got Crofters! And butter, and bread." he identified a few items, looking at a few others.
"We can make more toast!" Patton cheered. Logan laughed at that.
"Uh, we have like three boxes of cereal in the cart. And coffee cakes! There's also macaroni..." Logan kept going, not realizing that Patton had successfully distracted him from his anxiety for the time being. Patton spoke in a calm, caring voice all the way through their shopping trip.
"We're heading up to checkout now. I'll text you when we're on our way home," Logan spoke into the phone, following Virgil's guide through the front part of the store.
"Alright. You feel better now, right?" Patton assured.
"Yeah, thanks dad. I'll see you later." Logan hung up the phone, pocketing it and taking a deep breath.
"Feeling better?" Virgil questioned softly. Logan hummed.
He felt almost pathetic for having to call his dad to coach him through a simple shopping trip, but he also felt a lot more at ease. He couldn't quite place why he didn't just pull himself out of middlespace if it really bothered him that much, it almost felt like it'd be to tiring to do. He was getting used to being able to regress whenever and not have to repress it, so when the time came that he might of had to, it felt to hard.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Are we heading home after this?" Logan asked, redirecting the conversation swiftly.
"No, actually. If you're okay with stopping somewhere else first, I mean." Virgil didn't elaborate on where they could possibly be going, which confused Logan.
As they checked out and scanned their items, Logan kept bugging Virgil about where they were headed. "It's a surprise. I'm sure you'll like it, though."
"But Virge! I wanna know!" he whined, handing Virgil his iced coffee to scan.
"Hmm, well that's to bad." he teased. "You'll see when we get there."
Virgil has had this idea since he realized that Logan regressed to teen ages. He was only able to convince Patton to let him take Logan because he revealed his little plan, the second stop that Logan would definitely be excited about. Of course, Logan couldn't know what it was quite yet.
"Virgilll!" he pouted, giving him pleading eyes.
"The pouty face only works when you're a toddler, Lo. Just be patient," he told him, pulling his wallet out of his pocket and looking at the total on the self checkout screen. He counted the money quickly.
"Will a candy bar shut you up?" he asked, pulling a few dollars from the stack.
"That only works when I'm a toddler," Logan mimicked him. It was true, if any of the sides needed to distract Logan while he was little, a piece of candy would do the trick. Of course, it would backfire in half an hour when he got hyper and bouncy, but it works in the moment.
Virgil raised his eyebrows, waving the three one dollar bills in his hand. Logan rolled his eyes, snatching them away. "Fine, I'll be back in a sec."
He disappeared to go pick out some candy, leaving Virgil to chuckle.
Virgil was glad he did this. He felt bad for putting Logan in a situation where he was anxious, but he could still say that they were having a decent time so far. And he was sure Logan would love the next place they were headed to.
There was just one question Logan had.
Where were they going?

A/N: Okay so this chapter is jam-packed! I finally hinted towards the romance part of this story, which won't really be a main focus, like at all. It focuses on the agere, and here and there there will be some cute fluffy shippy things. Lmk what you think of this chapter by commenting, reblogging, or sending me asks! (Depends on if you're reading through Tumblr or Wattpad!)

Making Up and Making Out-Agere!Sides AU (pt.32)
warnings!!: Implied making out/smut near the end, and panic attack/mental breakdown in first scenes of this chapter!
Little Roman was panicking. He wanted to cuddle and be held by Virgil, but he felt like he didn't deserve it. He wanted comfort, more then anything. But he wasn't ready to ask for it. He was scared, and lonely. His breathing speed up, and his eyes glossed over. The rule was that he had to find his carer when he was little, and if he wasn't available, find Patton or Logan to babysit.
Virgil wasn't exactly unavailable, but he was close enough in Roman's mind. Roman had never felt so anxious while little, he sniffled and tried to slow his breathing. He'd helped Virgil through enough panic attacks to know what was happening. He tried to be big, he swears, but he couldn't seem to erase the childlike fogginess. He was in pajamas still, he hadn't gotten up to eat, and it was at least noon.
Roman was trying to gather the courage to go out and find one of the glasses-clad sides when a knock sounded at his door. He whimpered. What if it was daddy? Would he be angry, and yell again?
"Roman, it's later than usual for you, and I just wanted to ask if you were okay," He heard Virgil's voice first, followed by Patton's.
"If not, maybe we can talk this over while making cookies?" Patton was the one who decided to turn the doorknob and let himself in. Virgil's eyes landed on Roman, who had obviously been crying. Roman found his bunny stuffed animal from Easter, quickly cuddling it to his chest in order to try and calm himself down again. You could tell he was visually panicking.
"Roman, are you alright?" Patton was quick to run to the side of the bed, crouching down to Roman's height. He gave a pout while motioning to be hugged by Patton. "Oh no," he muttered, looking to Virgil, "The emotional stress must've caused him to regress."
Roman was in Patton's arms quickly. Virgil tried to come stand by Patton, but Roman shied away.
"Woah, what was that for?" Virgil tried to lighten the mood with a chuckle.
Roman lifted his head out of Patton's chest. "What is it, little prince?" Patton had the strength to hold him up with one arm, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear.
"Daddy's mad at me....yelling was scawy," he sniffled again, and Patton held him close.
"You don't need to be scared of me! I didn't mean to- ugh," Virgil stopped his quick rambling. "I wanted to talk to big Roman, work this out." He didn't mind having little Roman, but he hated that he was scared, and reassuring a five year old was gonna be more tough.
"You can't be upset with him for regressing though, this is probably the most emotionally draining situation he's been in...well, since he's begun regressing. Try talking to him?" Patton spoke over Roman's head, moving to set him back down on the bed. The affection seem to stop his tears, and slow his breathing again, but he was still scared.
"Princey, I'm sorry I scared you. We both said things-" Virgil was cut off by Little Roman.
"no, no, no, I was bad! Now you're angry at me, because I got angry with D-dec..Janus!" Roman seemed to look guilty, casting his eyes down.
"How about you have this discussion when he's big? He's obviously not in he right headspace to talk about this, and he's not gonna listen to it coming from you. I can talk to him, and we can try again later?" Patton interrupted, and both Virgil and Roman seemed relieved.
"You can go for now, Vee. I got him," Patton promised. Virgil left on that note, leaving Patton to help Roman get ready for the day.
"So? Is he quite alright?" Logan stood, leaning against the counter, sipping a cup of coffee. Janus sat on the table, shifting his attention to Virgil. There was literally a chair, multiple chairs, actually. Right there. Why sit on the table?
"He's little," he paused, looking at Logan, who looked to Janus.
"Oh, I know already, spare me the dramatic reaction. I'm a little too," Deceit rolled his eyes, Virgil chuckling slightly. Logan seemed confused, pausing before nodding. He gave a silent shrug and took a sip of his coffee.
"So, he regressed. Emotional stress and anxiety combined will do that. But how come you came back, and Patton didn't? Is Roman okay?" Logan questioned again.
"He's scared of me. He thinks that I'm mad at him, and he's scared I'm gonna yell at him. When I tried to apologize for yelling, he stopped me because "he was bad". Way to break my nonexistent heart!" Virgil seemed pained, groaning. Logan moved to pour him a cup of coffee. Logan himself had had some earlier, and so had Virgil. But he definitely needed more.
"So I'm guessing Patton took over then?" Janus asked.
"Yeah, he's not accepting my comfort while little, and that's a serious conversation for when he's big. So unless Little Roman comes around when Patton talks to him, then I have to wait until he comes out of his involuntary regression," Virgil accepted the black mug Logan handed him, taking a seat next to Janus on the table.
Not at the table. On the table. Chairs are useless, obviously.
"I'm sure Patton will take care of him just fine, let's hope he comes around with Patton's comfort, yeah?" Logan spoke, trying to comfort Virgil, who felt all types of terrible.
"Let's hope so," Virgil lifted his mug to his mouth, taking a long drink of the energizing liquid. Today was gonna be a long day.
--
"All ready, little prince?" Patton watched Roman mess with his hair in the mirror. Patton brushed his hair, helped him wash his face, and do a small self care routine, to hopefully make the boy feel better. You could barely tell he had cried.
"veevee gonna be out there, Pat!" Roman whined. He wore a light blue sweater, that was big on him and was definitely stolen from Patton, but wearing the clothing that smelled like cookies was comforting to him. He wore black leggings with it.
"I can promise you, Virgil is not gonna yell at you. He isn't even angry anymore, he just wants to talk things out," Patton picked up his stuffed bunny from the bathroom counter and handed it to him.
"Still nervous, tho. Janus gonna be out there! He don't know that m' a little, what if he makes fun of me?" Roman questioned.
Patton hoped Deceit wouldn't mind this, "Honey, he knows about us. He found out when he was here a little while ago, and he regresses himself."
"Oh," Roman looked down. "Is it bad that m' scared to talk to vee?"
"you're anxious, that's all it is. You were thrown into a involuntary regression and you can't help it, and you can wait to talk to Virgil until you're big. But know, he is not mad at you, and he is really sorry that he yelled at you like that," Patton leaned forward to kiss his forehead softly.
"B-but! I yelled too, n' I insulted Dee, n' I was really mean to both of dem. If I did dat while little, Vee would make me say sorry to him too," Roman bit at his lip.
"Like I said yesterday, we all kinda did stuff. And whether or not you apologize to Janus, is your decision to make, but I support you no matter what," Patton promised.
--
The whole day. Literally hours passed before Roman acknowledged his own caregiver and boyfriend. He played with Patton, and cuddled up to his side. At first, Virgil hung out in the commons, talking to Janus quietly. Then, him and Janus eventually left to go to his room, because they weren't getting anywhere with Roman.
Roman wasn't regressed quite as deeply anymore, still little, but not in an anxious babyspace. Logan could hear the loud giggle coming from the kitchen from his room, at the end of the hall.
Roman covered his mouth, "Sorry! Didn't mean to be so loud, oopsie!" Patton chuckled at him action, removing his hands from his sides, where he had been tickling him. Roman sat on the kitchen counter, currently, because Patton stood right there while making dinner.
"Time to get down, we're gonna eat now," he instructed, trying to take his hand to help him down. Roman pulled his hand away.
"I like this spot," he swung his feet a little.
"Roman," Patton gave him the same caregivery look Virgil gave as a warning, the next step usually being a stern scolding or timeout. "It's time for dinner," he spoke again.
Roman shook his head, "I wanna stay here."
Patton internally groaned, he hated being strict, especially with littles who were sensitive.
"Now, baby, I know what Virgil would do and I don't wanna have to do that. Be a good little prince and listen to me?" Patton looked at him again, hoping he'd give in. He stood in front of him, so when Roman swung out his foot more harshly in annoyance, he managed to kick Patton in the stomach. His eyes widened.
"D-didn't mean to! Don't wanna hurt you!" he looked at Patton apologetically.
"You didn't hurt me. Just be more careful, I know you were annoyed, but there's other ways to take out your anger rather than aggression," Patton knew he didn't mean it, and it didn't actually hurt him. "Come on, kiddo."
Roman pulled his hand away again, shaking his head. Patton gave him a much more stern look. Roman whimpered, "I'm sorry! I get down now?" he held out his hand for Patton to help him. Which he did, he hugged Patton, resting his head on his chest.
Roman was noticeably shorter than usual. Logan had a theory that they subconsciously regressed physically in certain aspects. "You're okay, honey. How about you make it up to me by getting the others for dinner while I set the table?"
Roman eagerly nodded, making his way through the hall to get the other three.
--
"I'm telling you, whenever he's big again, he's gonna apologize and you're gonna be able to talk it out," Janus sat on Virgil's bed, Virgil next to him. They were covered in blankets and surrounded by pillows.
"I know, I know. But when we walked in this morning, he was having a break down, and panicking. I induced some form of a panic attack for him, and I feel so bad for it," Virgil groaned, leaning his head on Janus's shoulder.
"It's gonna be alright. And plus, Roman's actually pretty cute while little," Deceit tried to shift the subject.
"Yeah, a cute brat," Virgil scoffed. "He thinks rules and listening to his caregiver are optional."
"I'm sure it isn't that bad."
"The first time he regressed he threw a sippy cup at Logan."
"I will never question you ever again."
Their eyes snapped up when Roman knocked on the door lightly, and opened it. "Hi, sweetie. What's up?" Virgil spoke softly. Roman didn't seem as scared of him, but still visibly nervous.
"I helped Patton made dinner, he told me to come get you guys..." he looked down, shuffling his feet a little.
"Oh, well, we will be out there in a bit," Janus spoke this time.
Roman didn't move, looking up at Virgil with guilty eyes. "What is it, do you need something else? You wanna talk to me?"
Roman nodded, quick to approach and climb onto the bed. Virgil scooted away from Janus, and let him sit in between them. Roman silently cuddled into Virgil's side, and the anxious side hesitantly wrapped his arm around his shoulder. "I'm sorry," he mumbled.
"So am I. But, besides that, are you okay?" Virgil asked, ruffling his hair a little.
Roman nodded. Janus watched the sight in front of him.
"I was scared but I know you don't like yelling at me, and that you didn't mean to upset me that much. So m' sorry, daddy," Roman was shocked by the tight hug Virgil pulled him into.
"It's okay. And you're right,  I don't like yelling at you, and I didn't mean to upset you. We both got caught up, and were emotional. It's okay now, right?"
Roman shifted to look at Janus, nervously looking up at him. "I-i'm sorry, to you too. I was mean, you're name isn't weird and-" Roman huffed, trying to come up with words.
"I accept your apology, Roman. I understand what you're trying to say and I forgive you. And I also apologize for comparing you to Remus, that wasn't fair to either of you," Janus gave a soft smile, and Roman nodded.
"Thank you!" he cheered, feeling so much better than before already.
"Ro? Are you wearing Patton's sweater?" Virgil noticed, and Roman blushed.
"It smells like cookies! And it's soft!" he let out a giggle, it ringing out louder when Virgil starts to place kisses all over his face.
"You're my little prince, and I love you so much," Virgil stopped his act of dorky affection, leaving Roman red-faced and smiley. "Go out there with Patton, I'll be out there in a second."
Roman, now much more cheerful than when he entered the room, nodded and left. Janus climbed off the bed and helped Virgil up. "See? It's all fixed," he said, and Virgil rolled his eyes.
"And it was much easier than I thought it was gonna be," Virgil sighed in relief.
"told ya so," Janus stuck out his tongue, causing Virgil to roll his eyes.
--
IMPLIED SEXUAL THINGS/SMUT IN NEXT PARAGRAPH. NOTHING BAD, JUST IMPLIED
The next morning, Virgil woke up in Roman's bed. Images of the night before popped in his head. Roman coming out of regression after dinner, talking to him for a while. At some point the talking faded into kissing, then making out. You can fill in the blanks on what happened next.
Roman also planned to give Janus an apology later in the day. Everything was gonna be okay. Things were starting to get back to ‘okay’ again.
For now.

Challenges for The Cookies- Little Vlogs (Chapter Eight)
A/N: This is like, a fairly short chapter. I apologize for any typos or whatever, and the fact that I haven't updated this story in two weeks. I hope you guys like it though, it's my first time actually showing them recording a video for the channel, which is weird because Patton's channel is such a huge element/plot device in this book. Anyways, hope y'all enjoy!
Chapter Summary: Patton acquires his boyfriend and two crushes to participate in a video challenge for his channel. Many shenanigans and cute clips ensue.
--
"But-...Daddy said that I'd get to do it!" Patton pouted, looking at Virgil. Patton had started this video big, and was obviously regressed before they really got into the video plan. He knew that if needed, he could be big for a whole video. But the whole point of being open as a little online was that he didn't need to do that.
"And daddy is now saying to let Vee do it," Logan decided, taking the package from Patton and giving it to Virgil. Patton was pouting over opening a box, as if it really mattered that much. Virgil tried to take it from him because he was obviously in the mindset of a toddler, and he'd get frustrated if he couldn't open it quickly.
"Yay!" Patton cheered once the box was open, and Virgil handed it back to him.
"You never told us what we are supposed to be doing for this video," Roman spoke up, leaning so that he was looking at Patton from the other side of Logan.
"You didn't!" Virgil's eyes widened, "You just turned on the camera with no explanation. What the hell did we sign up for?"he narrowed his eyes, somewhat worried that the toddler-minded boy had pulled them into something crazy.
"No cursing around the little," Logan motioned to Patton, before looking at the boy, "But yes, what are we doing?"
"We're decorating pacis again, because you guys-" Patton pointed directly into the camera with a giggle, "said dat you guys liked it last time!"
"So is that what's in the box? Some plain pacis?" Logan didn't track whatever Patton ordered for videos, so he wouldn't know for sure. He trusted Patton not to spend money on stupid things.
"yes, yes, yes!" Patton bounced a bit in place, "But dis time, we are making them however the cookies want!" Patton absolutely loved referring to his fans as 'the cookies', he thought it was cute and creative, and they seemed to like it.
Patton started explaining the rules of the challenge, "okay, here's how dis is gonna work. Three of us are given very simple requests for decorative pacifiers, all from the cookies, and then the fourth will judge them when we are done! Oh, and it's on a scale from 1 to 10, and the highest scorer wins and gets to be the judge to the next round!" Patton spoke really fast, somehow not stumbling over his words whatsoever, and continuing to speak in his cute little voice.
They split up to grab the pacifier decorating supplies, setting up what they needed on the coffee table. "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are! Up above the world so high..." Patton sung softly, setting the Generation One pacifiers in a neat row across the coffee table. Logan, who stood behind the tripod, used the camera and zoomed in on Patton, who looked up.
"Hello, Daddy! And hi to all da cookies too!" he scrunched his nose, giggling a bit. He set down the pacifier in his hand before softly waving at the camera.
"You gonna finish your little song, Pat?" Virgil questioned, setting tubes of super glue on the table, next to the small organizers of plastic gems and letter beads. There were three of them, and they were divided into little squares, each square holding different colors of plastic gems, letter beads, or charms to go on the centerpieces.
"Oh! Um...up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle, little star," Roman joined in and sang with him softly, Logan putting the camera on Virgil for a bit before zooming out to catch both of them.
"how I wonder what you are!"
Patton looked at the camera, thinking after a few moments. "Do nursery rhymes have copyright? I hope not..." he seemed confused, and more aware that there was a camera on him.
"I can confirm, nursery rhymes do have copyright, but most of them have passed into the public domain-" Logan started talking from behind the camera, getting interrupted by Roman, who was returning to the living room with smaller plastic gems.
"Shut up with your facts or whatever, we are gonna start the challenge!" Roman climbed onto the couch before lowering himself on the ground, between where Roman and Patton were sitting.
"Patton asked a question and I was just replying to it!" Logan defended, pointing the camera at Roman, who stuck his tongue out.
"Patton asked a question and blah blah blah. Can't you see we have a challenge that is much more important to begin?" he mocked Logan voice for a bit before quickly dividing up the smaller plastic gems between the three dividers. After a few seconds of silence, Roman looked up at the camera and laughed,
"Sorry Lo, I'm joking!" he apologized quickly, giving a soft pout as he waited for a response.
"You better be, little prince." Logan teased, Roman rolling his eyes and ignoring him.
Patton spoke up before any of them could say anything, "Okay! So the first paci request is...." he scrolled on his screen, his eyes glancing over a few words before he read them aloud, "From babykitten14 on twitter, 'how about a space theme?'"
The gears in Roman's head seemed to be turning, his eyes glancing between the different supplies in front of him quickly. "I can definitely work with a space theme." he assured, obviously excited to attempt to win this little challenge.
"Okay, let me set the timer!" Patton started tapping on his phone, Virgil's eyes widening.
"We're being timed?!" he seemed panicked, obviously thrown off.
"Yeah, I wasn't aware we had a time limit!" Roman dramatically exclaimed, both of the other boys obviously taking this more seriously now.
"Mhm! I thought that was obvious....have you never watched a youtube challenge, ever? If you don't set a time limit, the video will never end!" Patton set his phone in front of him on the table, speaking calmly as the other boys seemed a bit stressed now. It was a simple challenge, and they were probably exaggerating a bit for the camera, but they were being TIMED? This was absolutely outrageous.
...Okay, not really, but a bit shocking. "How long do we get, then?" Roman questioned, looking over at Patton. Logan stayed silent, just standing behind the camera and recording their interactions.
"Ten minutes!" Virgil and Roman's eyes widened, but before they got the chance to protest, or ask for more time, Patton started the timer and they immediately started grabbing different supplies. Throughout the video, they held four rounds of this challenge. Roman managed to win the first, with a simple dark purple pacifier with silver and white gems, the button being decorated with a black star charm. He spelled out, "Baby Star" on the handle.
Virgil ended up shyly asking if he could have the pacifier Roman made for the first round near the end of the video, and of course, Roman handed it right over. The next round had to do with a 'royal theme', and all three of the contestants made pacifiers related to princes. Roman declared Patton's baby pink pacifier, with dark red and gold gems, as the winner. On the button, was a little red crown sticker, and the handle read 'little prince'. Patton offered it to Roman, and he took it.
The third round simply was supposed to follow a "pastel theme". Patton probably would've won that one if he wasn't the judge. Logan won it though, and that pacifier went to Patton. The final round was supposed to follow a 'edgy baby' theme. As expected, Virgil won that round by a landslide.
Patton had them sit down to close out the video. "Okay, so each of us won one round. That's pretty good, I think!" Patton said, looking at Logan beside him on the couch, who nodded. "I want to clarify that all the pacifiers made today, besides the ones we claimed for ourselves, will be going to some of my agere friends, so they aren't going to waste at all!"
"Who is gonna claim the messy pacifiers that we had ten minutes to make?" Roman questioned from the other side of Patton. Virgil smacked his arm, rolling his eyes.
"I'm sure someone will," Virgil assured. "Most of them aren't that bad."
"Yeah, says the 'pince' paci." Roman rolled his eyes, teasing Virgil for his mistake earlier. Virgil somehow managed to forgot the 'r' during the Royal Pacifier round, and Roman had been teasing him endlessly about it throughout the video. Patton laughed before finally saying his outro and moving to turn off the camera.
All of the boys could genuinely say that they enjoyed filming videos for the channel, and the fans could say that they liked watching the content. It was a win-win situation, and Patton got to keep doing what  he loved with the man...
with the men he loved.
Yeah, all three of them definitely had a special place in his heart, they all cared for him endlessly. He liked that they genuinely cared about each other, too.  And the fact that they were willing to give up time to take part in his little hobby, and that they'd do almost anything to make him happy?
He liked that even more.

Towers and Kingdoms-Agere!Sides AU (pt.28)
A/N: MORE WORLD BUILDING AND THAT’S ON Being Obsessed With Creating Universes.
"Why did we just skip so many floors?" Roman asked, as they walked up another set of stairs as the other three ignored them.
"Unknown sides, ones that have never revealed themselves to anyone, we only know some of them," Deceit muttered. They had went into Deceit's room, and right above it, Remus's room. And then, they just kept walking up the stairs.
"You walked up all these stairs every single day?" Roman questioned, taking a moment to breathe.
"I usually didn't leave my room, or I went one floor up and ate the food in the top commons and used the bathroom and showers there," Virgil shrugged.
"Y-you guys don't get private bathrooms connected to your rooms?" Roman questioned.
"We're not privileged, like you are over in your mind palace," Deceit scoffed. Virgil gave him a look and he went silent. "whatever," he mumbled, stopping in front of a door that was painted black, with purple letters spelling out the words 'vee the emo'. Roman started laughing.
"I forgot about that. Uh, I let Deceit paint my door, and he promised he was just gonna write my name. Surprise, he lied and then never fixed it," Virgil didn't seem mad about it, he just laughed and twisted the door knob.
"This looks a lot like your room at home, but less..mature?" Roman commented.
"I would've thought you guys would've done something to my room, I've been gone for a while," Virgil sat on the bed and looked around him. The floor was clean, and the room was actually quite empty, there was a shelf with notebooks and books, and tons of band posters. It really did look like the room of a teenager.
"This room still looks like a teen emo boy going through puberty robbed a hot topic," Remus insulted.
"I represent one of the main things Thomas had when he was going through puberty, so like, out of all of us I'm the most angsty and immature," Virgil rolled his eyes.
"That's the truth, you still get mood swings," Roman teased. Virgil glared at him playfully.
"There isn't much stuff here though, you grabbed the things you really cared about when you ran away," Deceit spoke with a shrug, standing by the door.
"I said that I'm sorry about that, Deceit!" Virgil groaned, and Deceit softened his face.
"Sorry, it's just-"
"Whatever, lets go to the last floor," Virgil got up quickly , walking past the others and rushingly starting up the stairs.
Roman looked at Deceit, "He's not actually that upset, he's just dramatic sometimes. In like ten minutes he'll probably make a joke or hug you," Roman assured. That seemed to lift Deceit's spirits a bit, and he nodded. The three followed Virgil up the stairs.
There was no door, it just opened up onto the top floor. There was a group bathroom to the side, and bean bags of different colors everywhere. On the ledge of the huge window, there was a telescope, probably to look out into the imagination. "This isn't to bad," Roman commented, looking around and noticing the microwave, pantry, and refrigerator. Like a little mini-kitchen.
"It's not, just really boring. We can't summon things here, as if we are good at magic anyways, there really isn't much to do," Remus admitted. Roman frowned at this.
"Where to next?" Deceit questioned, standing at the ledge of the window and looking through the telescope.
"Can we just hang here for a bit?" Virgil questioned, sitting in a black bean bag next to the window. Deceit nodded, moving to pull a wooden chair painted yellow up to the window, sitting in front of it so that he was facing away from the large window. Remus and Roman found their spots on the other side of Deceit.
"So, how have you been during my absence?" Virgil jokes.
"Alright I guess. It's not the same without you though," Remus admitted. Virgil nodded.
"I've learned a lot of magic. I can now summon things, and do basically everything the other core sides can..not here though, obviously," Virgil said.
Deceit smiled, "That's good. The core sides are treating you well, right?" Deceit gave Roman a side glance.
"Of course," Roman defended, and Virgil nodded in agreeance.
"I'm glad everything is going well. There isn't much to catch you up on though, on our end," Deceit said. Roman noticed how everything he said seemed to be the truth, and how he wasn't lying at all, really.
"There's a lot on my end. I don't know where to start," Virgil sighed.
"Tell me how you started dating my brother, that's a story I've  never heard," Remus said, nudging Roman on the shoulder. Virgil rolled his eyes, sighing and beginning the story.
And that's how they started catching up. They told story after story, of things that happened while they hadn't seen each other, old things that happened when they were together.
To Virgil, this felt right. Better than before he was a core side and he lived in the tower, but also better than living with the core sides and cutting them off completely. "Can I hang out with my brother somewhere in the imagination? You guys could do something here," Remus offered.
Virgil glanced at Roman, who nodded hesitantly. "I don't have a problem with it," he smiled. He got up and hugged Roman, and the twins were quick to leave. Deceit and Virgil sat in silence for a few moments.
"I didn't expect you to ever come back. Like want to be our friend again, I didn't expect it," Deceit bit at his lip, and Virgil nodded.
"I-i'm sorry that I just up and left. And I know it'll take time for us to build our friendship again..but I'm glad we're willing the start that process," Virgil downcasted his eyes.
"You're a dork. Like the biggest fucking dork to walk the mindscape," Deceit got up from his chair, quickly pulling Virgil out of his beanbag.
"Rude," Virgil playfully scoffed. He knew they showed love through insults half the time, Roman was somewhat the same way.
"I missed you," Deceit admitted, pulling him into a hug. Virgil rested his head on his chest, just where he used to. They stood there for a while, before silently pulling away and walking down the stairs together. "So, could you explain the situation with all the little gear in the mind palace, and also how you're so open about it?"
Virgil groaned. "I still haven't told Roman you saw all that."
"It's not like I'm unsupportive," Deceit rolled his eyes, breathing for a second on the platform in front of a door. They were heading down to Deceit's bedroom.
"Well, a month or two ago, I decided it would be best to tell Roman about my littlespace. I didn't really know when, or how I was gonna do it..but he walked in on me in littlespace, and the three year old mind of mine tried my very best to explain it," Virgil explained, Deceit chuckling.
"So he went and asked Logan, after playing along and putting me to a nap. And once they like figured it out, and I was big, I talked to both of them and explained it. They were totally supportive, and I ended up telling Patton."
"But that doesn't explain the other stuff," Deceit waited for Virgil to continue.
"No, it doesn't. One day a little while later, Patton regresses, deeply. I'm talking small-as-you-are babyspace," Deceit eyes widened and Virgil nodded.
"That's when I had this theory, that we're all regressors. Because we are a part of Thomas's mind, and he mentally holds onto the childlike part of himself, and that could sprout into us regressing. And eventually, Roman and Logan regressed too. We all sort of have a large dynamic and it just works," Virgil said, reaching the next platform, lingering outside of Remus's bedroom as he waited for Deceit to catch up.
"So even Logan is a little?"
Virgil nodded. "Logan and Patton's are each others main carers, same for Roman and I. But we all sort of take care of each other, oh..and Thomas knows about the four of us," Deceit kept walking the last stairs to his door.
"Wait, wait, wait. If your theory is true, does it apply to us? Because as far as I know, Remus doesn't regress. He knows about me, he found one of my pacifiers a few months ago, and he was supportive. We don't talk about it though, and he's never seen me little before," Deceit opened his door once reaching the platform, letting Virgil in.
"I don't quite know yet, we'll see," Virgil shrugged, slowly entering his room. He was quick to jump on his bed. Deceit chuckled, climbing up and leaning against the pillows next to Virgil. "What'cha wanna do?" Virgil spoke softly.
"Dunno,m' bored," Deceit shrugged, mumbling slightly.
"It's not fair that you have to live without much little gear, you go so small sometimes," Virgil commented suddenly, and Deceit nodded silently. "I don't know how I did it back then. I'm sorry you still have to do that. Maybe not soon, though. You might not be able to do magic, but I can."
Deceit giggled lightly, "really?" he seemed excited. Virgil nodded, noticing his small antics and smiling.
"How long had it been since you've last regressed? And don't lie to me, snake," he spoke sternly, and Deceit bit at his lip.
"Easter! for like a lil tiny bit," he admitted. Virgil sighed, pulling Deceit closer.
"If you want to be little now, you can. I'm here for you, baby snake," Deceit whined and shook his head.
"Y-you just got here and I don't wanna make you uncomfy. Sorry," he mumbled, pulling away from Virgil and shaking his head.
"Hey, no, it's okay. I promise, you took care of me the other day, it's only fair," Virgil assured, sitting up and pulling Deceit back. Deceit leaned into him, nodding.
"Out of curiosity, what were you doing before I got here?" Virgil leaned back, allowing Deceit to cuddle against him.
"Taking a tiny nap, very sleepy," he shyly admitted.
"Hmm, well, you can take that tiny nap now. How does that sound?" Virgil played with his hair a bit, and he nodded with a small giggle.
--
Roman and Remus laughed, running through the castle, from the imaginary characters within it. It really was fun, create a plot, and location, and let your imagination run wild in an interactive setting. You had the control, but at the same time, anything could happen. "Aha!" remus ran up to a knight statue, pulling the sword from the figure and throwing it to Roman, taking the shield.
"Fight the guards or run?" Roman asked, pulling Remus behind a little wall. The guards and princess ran by. Roman was the prince of this kingdom, and Remus was a criminal who had stolen something. Roman was supposed to get him out of the castle without him getting captured, and now he was being chased himself for "the aiding of a criminal'.
"Run, and then exit the scene," Remus took a deep breath,"I'm tired."
Roman nodded, "Let's go the way they came, and we can exit this scene of the imagination," they ducked out, running with glee and pure happiness. They exited the castle, and ran to the gates. The guards stepped aside for the prince, and they were allowed through the gates. They turned around, watching the castle evaporate and disappear.
"We need to continue the adventure sometime," Remus said, and Roman nodded. They still held the sword and the shield. "I'll keep these," he spoke, taking the sword. "Memories of our first adventure together after years."
Roman smiled, nodding. The two set off towards the tower. Remus was able to use his imagination for good with the aid of his brother. For the first time in years, they had went on an amazing adventure together. It was definitely one they’d remember.
Roman and Remus were reforming their brotherly bond, and Deceit and Virgil were rebuilding their friendship. Hopefully Patton and Logan would be able to build new relationships with the dark sides, and accept them once and for all.

Easter Tears-Agere!Sides AU (pt.23)
a/n: this wasn’t supposed to be angsty I promise it just happened-. Happy late easter tho, enjoy everyone!
"Roman," Virgil sighed. Why did he think giving him candy was a good idea? Like yeah, it was easter, and Patton made them all cute easter baskets (like he did every year, same with halloween, candy bowls would just pop up in the apartment). Virgil always made sure he made himself one too, to even it all out.
Virgil himself had only eaten a few pieces of dark chocolate reese's when Roman began regressing. This year, Patton had added little bunny stuffed animals to their baskets, which was something cutesy that made Roman feel small.  Roman dropped the candy back in his yellow basket with a pout.
Virgil had been telling him nonstop every few minutes that he'd give himself a stomach ache. Of course, he didn't listen and ate the candy anyways. They sat in Roman's room with their baskets, Virgil sitting on the bed with his basket next to him, while Roman (for some reason) preferred sitting on a blanket on the floor. He only did this when he was little, the big prince would never place his clean blankets on the floor. But Little Ro definitely would.
"Hey, no, no, don't feel to bad," Virgil saw the guilty look on his face, probably at the fact that Virgil hadn't done much even though he was insistently not listening to his directions. "Every kid eats a bunch of candy on Easter, I'm not mad at you. Just slow down a bit, yeah?" he reached over and ruffled his hair. Roman nodded lightly, pulling the pink bunny stuffed animal close to him.
Roman then got up, moving to sit next to Virgil, hugging his side. "Are you sleepy, honey?" Virgil asked, and Roman shook his head.
"Just wanna cuddle for a second,"
"of course, little prince."
--
"Babyyyyy," Logan came back into Patton's bedroom, holding a bottle of warm cinnamon milk. He playfully gasped at the sight he saw, Patton in his onesie, nibbling on the chocolate was wasn't supposed to eat too much of. "Now, what did I say, little one?" he questioned, sitting on the bed and taking the basket and setting it on the floor, out of the boys reach.
Patton gave a guilty pout, his eyes immediately seeming more wet. "Not to eat to much of da candy, but-"
"No buts," Logan chuckled, letting him keep his Reeses Cup, "I said no. And you're supposed to listen, right?" Patton whimpered, nodding slightly. "It's alright though, don't cry," Logan went back to being soft on him, making the mental decision not to push to much about candy. He kissed his forehead.
"M' sorry, papa," he mumbled, eating the last of the small piece of chocolate. Logan took the wrapper, and it disappeared within a moment. He then leaned forward, lifting Patton's chin and kissing the button of his nose. Patton blushed lightly, "dada silly!" he giggled.
Logan nodded, climbing onto the bed more and shifting so that he was sitting next to Patton, his back against the headboard. He pulled the little into his lap, "You wanna drink this while it's warm, baby?" he held it up lightly. Patton seemed to regress a little younger immediately, making grabby hands towards it.
Logan chuckled again, kissing the back of his head lightly. Patton loved kisses, not usually on the lips when he was little, but it was common that he'd pout and fight against taking a nap until he had gotten a forehead kiss from Logan. He pulled a blanket over their legs, and Patton grabs his bunny stuffed animal. Logan helped him drink his bottle until it was all gone, and he replaced it with the kitten pacifier.
Patton cuddled in closer to Logan, and Logan pulled his glasses off. "How does a little nap sound?" he asked, and Patton protested.
"You're a little sleepy, I can tell. When you're little you need more rest, baby."
Patton tried to move out of his lap, but Logan tightened his arms around his waist. Logan fake gasped, "You're trying to run away from me now?"
Patton giggled, settling down and leaning into him. "Just twenty minutes, so you aren't to sleepy for the rest of the day until bedtime. And then after," he leaned in, talking in a fake whisper, "I'll let you eat some more of that candy you snuck."
Patton agreed, adjusting himself so that he was laying next to Logan, but cuddled into his side, holding his stuffie between them and burying his head in Logan's chest. Logan kissed his head one more time, and the boy drifted to sleep.
--
"Deceit! We totally need to crash their Easter!" Remus had walked down the steps from his room above Deceit's, bursting into Deceit's room, holding his mace casually above his shoulder.
"You suggested this last year, the year before, and even when Virgil was here. And you know, we're not gonna do it, it just upsets them," Deceit sighed, rubbing his head lightly and closing his notebook.
"You say that like I'm gonna stop. If it can't happen now, then I'll wait until Halloween, I suppose."
Remus sighed, "I get it, you miss your brother. It's okay, but its unrealistic that we're ever gonna get to see them without them sending us away. You want Virgil to be happy, right?" Deceit got up walking towards Remus, and passing him. Remus turned to see where he was going, Deceit just opened his door, motioning towards the staircase going up.
"Yes, of course I do. It's just-"
"Then leave it at that. He's happier with the core sides."
Remus sighed again, rolling his eyes and exiting the room. Deceit shut the door behind him, going back to his desk. He reopened the notebook, signing off on the note he had written, closing the book until further notice. He then proceeded to jump into bed, burrowing himself under the blankets and holding a snake stuffie close.
He missed the days where him and Virgil would take care of each other. He remembered when Virgil taught him all about age regression, which he had learned about exclusively off of Tumblr. He wondered if Virgil was still a little, after these few years. Virgil was probably the only one that saw the soft, babyish side of Deceit.
The reason why Virgil was so good with Patton, so understanding when he went into babyspace, was because Deceit regressed to around the same ages. Little Patton was similar to Baby Deceit in a lot of ways, he was needy but no one minded, would easily cry, but was also adorable and cuddly. Maybe that's why Virgil was so protective over Little Patton, because he reminded him a lot of what his life was before.
Deceit blinked away the tears in his eyes, cuddling the stuffed animal closer. He didn't have the energy to get up and find his pacifier. It was harder to summon things in the darker part of the mind, good magic was harder to discover. This just made it harder for the dark sides to do things, made life harder. It was also harder to create good things, so little gear was sparse anyways. He hoped Virgil was able to create good things now, he hoped that Virgil was really getting better.
He may of acted like he hated Virgil for leaving, but honestly, he was shocked that he had the option to do so. And he was proud that he took the risk and did it.
He just wished that Virgil didn't have to leave him behind, and hurt him so much in the process.

Setting The Rules-Agere!Sides AU (pt.16)
"Okay, I get it, you guys are shy. Whatever, we are doing this," Roman spoke to everyone sitting around the kitchen table. Everyone had a piece of notebook paper, along with a small set of pens, markers, and highlighters. He wrote 'Baby Vee's Rules' at the top of his, and everyone had done the same for their respective littles.
"Why do we have to do this, we've been just "going with it" until now, why can't we keep going that way?" Logan asked, making sure to write Patton's name in a blue glitter pen.
"Because without actual rules there's no real boundaries for littles, and they get bratty-"
"speak for yourself," Virgil teased, and Roman rolled his eyes before continuing.
"And also, this will help when someone besides a littles main carer have to keep them, they'll know the rules and stuff," Roman side glanced at Logan, who sighed heavily in annoyance. He mumbled something along the lines of 'we already talked about this'.
"I think it's a good idea, we can also write out the reward systems, and smaller things about our littles that would be good to know," Patton spoke, and Roman nodded.
"Oh, and punishments for breaking the rules," Virgil looked at Roman, raising his eyebrow.
"Stop unnecessarily pointing out that I'm a brat, that is not the topic of conversation,"
"I don't know Ro, isn't making fun of you the topic of every conversation?" Logan said, and Virgil laughed.
"Hey, Lo. Don't make fun of him," Patton instructed, causing Logan to falter and pout before snapping out of it.
"Don't use your caregiver voice when I'm not little,"
"Oh, you caught me," Patton said sarcastically, and Logan chuckled.
"Okay, let's stop with the flirting and play fighting, and start this."
"I'll do Roman's first, because we all know his will be the strictest,"
Logan fake-coughed, "Brat."
"I will not hesitate to stab you with one of my many swords, right here, right now."
"First rule, no stabbing people," Virgil said playfully, bringing their attention back to making the rule lists. Virgil thought for a moment before writing.
"What did you write?" Roman quickly questioned, and Virgil chuckled.
"Listen to Virgil, he knows what's best. No throwing temper tantrums, stomping your foot, shouting, or ignoring me."
"That's not an issue," Roman scoffed, and Virgil rolled his eyes. "The punishment for that?"
"Either early bedtime, no sweets, or a timeout. How long the timeout is depends on what you did," Virgil shrugged, jotting down the punishment list on one side of the paper.
Roman crossed his arms, "We won't be needing any of that,"
"of course not, baby."
"You guys start, I'm gonna write a list of rules and I'll edit it after," Virgil motioned to the others for them to begin, and all three of the others began writing.
After about ten minutes, everyone had written out a list of a few rules and punishments for their little. "Okay, Roman. I'll read my rules and I want you to tell me if you agree to them."
Roman nodded, and Virgil began to read.
"Bedtime by ten when little, unless I make it earlier for punishment, or later for reward."
Roman didn't say anything, so Virgil continued, "Tell me when you're upset, and why. And no lying, or sneaking behind my back."
Roman agreed to these terms, "What're the rewards?" he questioned, slightly excited.
"New coloring book, late bedtime, and special movie nights."
"I think that's good for now, we can always add more later. Wanna hear mine?"
Virgil nodded, and Roman began reading. "Talk to me when you're upset, tell me what you're feeling and why."
Roman continued, "Always give me cuddles, it's just mandatory."
Virgil chuckled, "did you actually write that?", causing Roman to shake his head in response.
"If you need affection or attention, or feel lonely, tell me or any other non-little side in the home."
"Mhm," Virgil let him continue.
"Ask when you need something, instead of pretending that you don't need anything, even if you think it's unnecessary. Next, avoid taking out your emotions on other people, no shouting and being bratty because you don't know how to say that you're angry. And finally, no lying about your feelings. If you're feeling anything but happy, talk to me."
Virgil knew these are the things he struggled with most when regressed, but he agreed with the terms. "Punishments and rewards?"
"Timeout, and a talking-to from me-"
"Those are the only punishments for Virgil?" Logan questioned, cutting him off.
"Yeah, he doesn't do much. All he needs is a little push and lots of comfort and support, taking away his dessert or making him go to bed earlier will just make him feel guilty, without knowing how to improve,"
Logan shut up, and Roman proceeded to his rewards. "New stuffie, extra sweets, and lots of praise from me!" Roman sounded excited, and Virgil smiled. He liked Roman's list because it fit him well, with punishments that will work, and rewards that will make him happy.
"Okay, okay! My turn!" Patton brought attention to himself glancing at Logan before reading. "No hiding when you're little, or how little you feel. Always tell me when you're tiny."
Logan groaned, rolling his eyes, but agreeing nonetheless. "Ask for whatever you need, affection, attention, anything. I'd rather you ask and I say no then you wanting something and not even trying to get it."
"No taking things without asking though, you might want to be independent, but I still decide what's best for you when you're mentally three."
Logan chuckled, and Patton concluded his list, "Ask for help, and let me help you with things without whining."
"Punishments and rewards?" Logan questioned hesitantly.
"No punishments because I don't wanna make you sad, timeout or taking away something of yours only if you did something really bad, or just talking to you didn't work. And for rewards...cookies made my your's truly, unlimited bedtime stories until you get to sleepy, or a new pacifier."
Logan nodded, agreeing to these rules before reading Patton's. "Don't fight me when I try to put you to bed, or tell you to take a nap. No throwing things, baby blocks included."
Patton chuckled, hiding his face while Roman moved to playfully glare at him. Roman's forehead still had a small scrape from the edge of the letter 'A' block. "Please ask me before deciding that you're gonna color, and make sure that the paper you're using isn't a list of tasks for Thomas that I spent an hour writing out."
"I already apologized for that!" he squeaked, and Logan smirked.
"And finally, do your best to understand that I can't give you my undivided attention 100 percent off the time."
"Punishments?"
"Just scolding from me, and maybe a timeout-"
"And you got onto me for not giving Virgil strict punishments!" Roman scoffed, and Logan just shrugged his statement off.
"And rewards..new stuffie, cookies, or new toys."
"Caregivers can always add more rules to the list, and of course, use punishments and rewards when necessary, even if the rules aren't specified," Roman said, waving his hand, causing the papers to disappear, and reappear on the fridge.
"So we're all done?" Virgil asked, already preparing to get up. Roman nodded.
Everyone left the table, retreating to either their bedrooms, or the commons. The four of them were adjusting to this new aspect of their life, and they were quickly growing to love it.
But they hadn't considered something. If Virgil's theory was correct, and they all regressed because Thomas held onto his childhood, then all of the sides would be regressors.
Including the dark sides.
A/N: Like I said, “dee and remus? maybe.”

Note
So I had an idea about little Ro while reading some of your stories. Imagine if one day he’s little and instead of being all hyper and goofy like usual, he’s super quiet and just settles down and doesn’t say much. So the others get super worried and try to figure out what’s wrong, since they think he’s super upset about something. Finally, they realize that nothing is actually wrong, he’s just really sleepy and wants to snuggle up on the couch for a nap.
A/N: I just wanna say that this is an adorable idea and if you got anything else for me PLEASE send more prompts, Cute Prompt Anon
Calm n Cuddly-Agere!Sides AU (pt.21)
“He’s acting…weird..” Virgil stood in the doorway of the kitchen, glancing over at Roman on the couch, who was more calm than usual, watching cartoons. Roman was the type of little that was really goofy, and hyper almost all the time, he never “settled down”. Yeah, you could turn on a disney movie to get him to sit in one place, but he’d still be talkative and bouncy. And yet, he just sat there on the couch.
He also seemed more tired than usual, he had basically thrown a fit when Virgil tried to get him out of his pajamas that morning. He still sat in the red pajamas now. But even his temper tantrum was less bratty than usual. Virgil noticed that he didn’t stomp his foot, or shout, he just quietly said no. And when Virgil pushed it, he just pouted and kept repeating that he didn’t want to. Usually, he would of shouted, or maybe even thrown something to the floor. Virgil gave in and let him stay in his pajamas.
He didn’t want to play after breakfast, he requested cartoons. When they played movies and cartoons in the morning, Roman still played. He enjoyed multitasking in that sense. “You think he’s sad about something? It seems like he’s upset?” Patton and Logan stood so that they were in a half circle that blocked the kitchen doorway.
“It does, it would be different if he was usually like this. But he’s not, he’s always energetic and this doesn’t make much sense. He’s kind of acting like you when you’re little, Virgil,” Logan observed. Virgil nodded, this really wasn’t normal for Roman.
“I don’t know, I’m worried though. Did one of us do something yesterday that upset him? He left his bedroom light on, and I don’t think he actually fell asleep until pretty late last night,” Virgil pointed out.
“If he went to bed late, then how come he woke up at usual time?” Patton questioned.
“When someone gets used to waking up at a certain time, they will tend to continue to get up at that time, even if they didn’t go to sleep at the usual time,” Logan explained.
“So he got only a little bit of sleep, and woke up little? I wonder what kept him up,” Virgil thought, trying to figure it out.
“Well, you stay up late without an actual reason. He might not of had anything specific that kept him up, he probably got sidetracked and started doing something, losing track of time,” Logan offered the explanation that seemed to make the most sense.
“Wait…I think he was working on ideas for Thomas. Thomas, right now, is planning tons of videos with ideas that "came to him late at night”. Roman probably just had a lot of late night ideas, that he wanted to write out and have Thomas work on today,“ Logan and Virgil liked this conclusion.
"So he just worked hard last night, didn’t go to bed until late, and he woke up little?” Virgil asked, and the other two nodded.
“Vee?” Roman whined from the couch, “And Lo, and Pat?”
All three of the men looked to the kid-like trait on the couch. “What is it, Ro?” Virgil asked in a soft voice.
“Could you please watch the movie with me?” he bit on his lip lightly, and Virgil nodded, making his way to sit in the corner seat on the couch. Roman scooted over towards him, biting his lip again nervously as the other two sat on the other side of him.
Virgil looked at him, “Y'know you can ask for whatever you need, right?” Roman nodded.
“Cuddles?” he mumbled, and Virgil pulled him closer. He wrapped his arm around him, and Roman cuddled into his side, burying his head in his chest.
“A certain little one didn’t follow his bedtime rules last night, did he?” Virgil teased. He knew Roman wasn’t little, so he didn’t have to follow the rules, but he wanted to tease him. Roman shook his head, still quite quiet.
Patton was quick to get up and gather blankets, throwing Roman’s red fluffy one over the two of them. “I’m sleepy..want cuddles from everyone,” he admitted, and Virgil chuckled.
“You’re so cute, but I don’t know how all of us can give you cuddles at once,”
“Like this, Virgil,” Patton intervened, motioning for Roman to get up. He did, and Patton scooted closer to Virgil, having Roman sit back down between them. He got comfortable, Virgil and Patton wrapping their arms around his shoulders.
“So do I just get left out of this cuddly adorableness?” Logan fake-gasped, pretending to be shocked, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes. Roman pouted, and Virgil stuck his tongue out.
“Only nice caregivers get to cuddle with the cute kid,” Virgil teased.
Logan playfully glared at him, causing Roman to giggle. “Lay down, this way,” Patton instructed.
“There’s not enough room..”
“With your head on our laps, idiot,” Virgil said, and Roman hit his arm, lightly and playfully.
“That’s mean, daddy!”
“Do as I say, not as I do,” Virgil ruffled his hair. Logan laid down, laying against Patton’s legs, and his head in Roman’s lap. They all got comfortable, and they were all snuggling against Roman in some way. He was quite affectionate, playing with Logan’s hair, and shifting slightly to cuddle against Patton and Virgil at the same time.
It wasn’t long until he was asleep, the other three cooing at him. Logan attempted to get up, but Patton pushed him down. “By little law, you are not allowed to move if a tiny human requests affection and falls asleep,”
Virgil chuckled, “It’s true, move, and he could wake up from lack of affection,” Logan glared at him and he only stuck his tongue out again. He sighed and shifted to watch the disney movie on the screen. Soon, they all fell asleep, not awaking until a few hours later, when the now well-rested Roman was his hyper bouncy self again.
The quiet, cuddly, and calm sleepy Ro was gone, and back came the hyper, goofy, and bratty Ro. He was playing, talking about anything and everything, and being bratty over tiny things for absolutely no reason.
Things were back to normal.

One Angel and a Brat-Agere!Sides AU (pt.9)
"Roman,no!" For the seventh time that day,Virgil had to stop Roman from doing something.
"We do not jump on the couch, you could hurt yourself!" On the armchair,Logan sat there with Patton, who had a paci in his mouth as Logan read him a story in a soft voice. Patton kept pointing to the cutesy pictures, giggling and squealing, bouncing in his place on Logan's lap when he got excited.
If only Roman could be so calm.
Roman huffed, sitting on the couch with his arms crossed. "Stop giving me attitude, or an early bedtime tonight," Roman mumbled something under his breath, "what was that?" Virgil questioned.
Roman's eyes widened, but he snapped back to the childish glare, "Dont care," he repeated.
"Papa? Why do Roman act like dat?" Patton looked up at Logan, who was obviously amused.
"Because he's a brat, unlike you. You're my little angel, such a good baby boy," he praised, kissing his forehead and causing him to blush.
"Thank you papa," he mumbled shyly around his pacifier.
"You even have good manners, you're such an amazing baby, aren’t you?"
Meanwhile, "Roman I swear to god,if you don’t get off that couch I will-"
Roman got off the couch, hugging him and whimpering. Virgil sighed. This is how Roman was,he was super bratty and gave attitude, arguing, until suddenly guilt hit him and he felt bad.
It had been a few weeks since Roman first regressed. Patton had given up his naturally caregivery instincts, allowing Logan to practice taking care of him. Virgil hadn't felt super little since he had been helping out Logan when Patton regressed, and taking care of his own baby. He was okay with this, but taking care of Roman was hard.
Logan constantly rubbed it in his face that he had Patton, who regressed to a younger age and never acted out. All you needed to do is give him cuddles,a bottle, his paci, and something that'll entertain him. The first time Patton called him Papa,it slipped out and he was super shy,but Logan assured that it was okay, and that he found it adorable, and now it was a normal thing for them.
"Sorry m' being bad Vee," Roman mumbled when he pulled away a few seconds later, looking down guiltily.
"Remember what I said about giving me attitude? And not listening?" Virgil questioned, and Roman hid his face.
"Nuthin! Didn't say anything!" "Mhm,okay," Virgil nodded with a slight eye roll, "come on,Ro." Virgil lead him into his room, sitting him on his bed. "Ten minutes,no toys,no talking, got it?" Roman pouted, but nodded.
"Don’t move, got it?" Roman nodded again, and Virgil leaned over, kissing his forehead quickly. "It's okay baby, just a quick timeout, then we can forget about it,mhm?"
Roman felt a lot worse than he was letting on, he was always a brat until he felt like Virgil was fed up. Virgil must've caught on. "You okay,Ro?" Roman shook his head, hugging one of Virgil's pillows to his chest as his eyes glossed over.
"Baby,baby,don’t cry please. It's okay,it's just a timeout,"
"Y-you mad at me..because I don't listen ..." he sniffled, and Virgil sat next to him, wrapping his arms around the boy.
"You are just a brat, and while I dont like that, you're my baby boy. I might put you in timeout,or get onto you,but I'm not mad at you."
Roman didn’t respond, just burying his head in Virgil’s chest. “How about I stay here, and we just take a few minutes to let you calm down?”
“No timeout?” Roman mumbled.
“Sort of, it’s still a punishment, but I’m with you so you’re not as scared,”
“m’ not scared, Vee!”
Virgil rolled his eyes, “mhm, sure.”
“cuddles?” he mumbled, and Virgil pulled him closer.
The sat there for a few minutes, until Roman was done crying, and stopped mumbling and talking.
“I think that’s enough,”
Roman’s head snapped up, and he rubbed at his eyes slightly, “really?”
“Do you promise to be good?”
Roman nodded eagerly, and Virgil chuckled. He got off the bed and helped Roman up, “I love you.”
“love you too, Vee!”

Not That Little-Agere!Sides AU (pt.7)
“V-virge?”
Virgil woke up to Roman climbing onto his bed. It was before noon, but it wasn’t super early. Around the time when Virgil would’ve gotten up anyways.
It had been about a week since he shared his theory with the others, and neither Logan nor Roman regressed. Little Virgil was warming up to Patton, and Roman was slowly, but surely, taking over the caregiver role.
Patton avoided regressing in general, but slipped very easily when Logan babied him, Virgil had stepped in multiple times to show Logan the best way to take care of him.
“Hey, Roman. Goodmorning,” Virgil rubbed at his eyes, yawning as he sat up. Roman climbed up to sit next to him.
“Hi!” he cheered, hugging him.
“You seem happy?” Virgil watched Roman’s face light up.
“Mhm! Patton’s making pancakes, I really like them!” he smiled widely, talking in a higher pitched voice. He giggled after, bouncing slightly in place.
“Hey, Ro?”
“Mhm?”
“Are you a baby?” Virgil teased, ruffling his hair.
“No...not that little,” he mumbled shyly, looking down.
“But you are little?” Virgil questioned. Roman just shrugged.
“Think so? I wanna color,” he didn’t look up, pouting slightly.
“That’s okay, Ro,” Virgil smiled warmly, lifting Roman’s chin. “You can most definitely color after breakfast,”
Roman giggled again as Virgil kissed his forehead. He wasn’t baby age, or a younger toddler, maybe five-ish.
“So, you are a little...” Virgil teased with a smirk.
“I’m not little,” Roman stated in a ‘matter-of-fact’ voice, contradicting what he said before.
“Is that so?”
“Mhm,” he nodded stubbornly.
“You have absolutely no interest in watching cartoons? Or playing with toys? or coloring?”
He pouted with a whine, “I wanna do that stuff!”
Virgil’s face went soft, and he decided to stop teasing him, kissing his forehead again. “Then we will.”
The two headed out into the kitchen, Logan sat at the table with coffee, while Patton finished plating the pancakes.
“Oh, you’re back kiddo! Just in time, the pancakes are ready!”
Roman skipped to his seat clumsily, sitting next to Virgil. “Thanks for getting Virgil up for us! You’re so helpful, Ro!” Logan used that same tone he used with Patton. They both knew he was little before Virgil was even awake.
He decided to address it later, looking to Roman. “Are you big enough to use a normal cup, or do you need a sippy cup?”
“Big enough, not clumsy,” he sounded promising, so when Patton looked at Virgil, he nodded. He set a plastic cup of apple juice in front of Roman.
“Here, baby. Let me get that for you,” Virgil reached over, cutting up his food.
Roman nodded, taking a drink on his juice, setting it back down. The moment he took his first bite, he elbowed the kiddy cup of the table.
Patton rushed to clean it, using his powers to make any evidence of the incident disappear. “Sorry?” Roman looked to Virgil.
“It’s alright,” he sighed lightly, “sippy cup it is.”
Roman pouted. “Don’t want sippy cup,” he crossed his arms, and Logan began to observe the show like it was a Netflix horror film.
“You’re a little to clumsy for a normal cup, sorry Ro.”
Virgil summoned a red sippy cup with a white crown design. Perfect for Roman.
Patton took it, filling it with apple juice and giving it to Roman. “Dont want it!” he shook his head, setting it on the table and pushing it forward towards Virgil. Virgil pushed it back at him.
“Roman, it’s fine. It’s just a sippy cup, not that big of a deal,”
Roman picked up the cup, and for a second Virgil thought he was finally gonna listen instead of fighting. Nope.
The sippy cup flew past Logan, and there sat Roman, his arms crossed as he huffed childishly.
Virgil’s thoughts were something along the lines of: oh no,he’s a bratty little.
Logan seemed amused, biting his lip to hold back a laugh. “Roman..” Virgil spoke in a warning tone, but Roman stood his ground. He glared at Virgil with a child-like playful hatred.
“Do we throw things?” Virgil asked, summoning the sippy cup from the ground, and setting it between him and Roman.
“I don’t want it,” he stated again.
“Ro-”
“Can I talk to him?” Patton questioned, and Virgil needed a second, so he shrugged, giving him the floor.
“Hey, Ro. What’s wrong with the sippy cup?”
“I’m not that little,” Roman’s glare softened as he looked down.
“But you’re not big enough for a normal cup? How old are you, bud?”
“S-seven...I think?” he hummed. Virgil nodded, slightly shocked by how well Patton  was handling this.
“Well, seven years old isn’t to big for a sippy cup!” Patton encouraged.
“Really?” he tilted his head.
“Mhm, adults use water bottles, and a lot of them are designed like sippy cups. It’s okay,”
Roman nodded, biting at his nail nervously. “What isn’t okay though,is throwing something because of instructions your caregiver gave you...” Patton didn’t continue after that, giving him the option of apologizing to Virgil.
“Sorry I threw sippy cup, Vee,” he pouted guiltily. Patton and Logan finished eating quickly, leaving Virgil and Roman in the kitchen.
Virgil sighed, looking at how guilty he looked, noting how bad he probably felt.
“Baby, don’t throw things next time, alright? I know you got upset, you didn’t want to listen to me, but you should’ve said something instead,”
“m’ sorry Virge!” he pouted, looking down with a slight sniffle.
“Oh, baby boy. Don’t cry,” Virgil pulled on his hand, willing for him to get up. He complied, and didn’t object when Virgil pulled him closer. onto his lap.
“Guess what?”
“hmm?”
“I love you, and you’re amazing. You said sorry, and now that’s the end of it, no need to cry, alright?”
Roman nodded, wiping at his face. Virgil thought for a moment, wondering what would cheer him up.
“Who wants to watch Disney?”
“Me!”
A/N: I don’t it to seem like I’m rushing it but I’m trying to get their first times regressing over so I can finish setting up the world and move on the the cute oneshots and character development. I’m so excited!!

Patton’s A Baby Now- Agere!Sides AU (pt.4)
At least a few weeks went by before anything new happened. So far, Virgil dropped into the habit of regressing around the others, but only outside of his room if everyone else is free and in a good mood.
The others learned that he’s very shy most of the time, usually when he’s in his most babyish state. Sometimes, he’ll be talkative and bouncy, but still a bit shy.
All three of the other sides were looking into age regression themselves, accommodating to caring for Virgil but also filling their personal curiosity.
Patton was alone in his room the first time it happened to him. Patton held Thomas’s memories, his whole childhood, it made sense for him to be more childlike. He’s literally the most childlike trait when it comes to his normal personality, even if he was also a caring figure.
He found himself in his cat onesie, playing cartoons on his computer. He didn’t talk, didn’t color, or do anything “fun”, but he still felt...little?
He didn’t want to overthink it, and he let himself get lost in the one-dimensional plot of the silly cartoon.
He jumped at the sound of knocking at his door, it was the middle of the day and Thomas was playing a video game? Did Thomas need him for that?
“It’s Virgil,” he called lightly, turning the door nob without waiting.
Patton whimpered and pouted a bit when the door opened, closing out of his laptop in record time.
He hid his face in a soft pillow.
“Pat? You good?” he questioned, closing the door behind him and sitting on the edge of the bed.
“N-no..just wan watch cartoons by m’self...” Patton mumbled.
It seemed to click it Virgil’s head. “Ohh, Patton. Does Logan know about this?”
Patton knew he knew, and shook his head. “Nuh-uh. Just found out m’self, s-sorry,”
“No need to be sorry, I know it gets easy to feel bad about your age regression, like it’s wrong or something. But it’s okay,” Virgil smiled, and the regressed one of the two pulled the pillow away from his face.
“Never regress before, don’t know how it happened..”
“That’s how it went for me to, darling. It’s gonna be okay, at least you don’t have to worry about the other sides judging you.”
Patton giggled, nodding.
“Guess so...”
“How little are you, sweetheart?” Virgil used a softer tone than he normally would, smiling softly in an attempt ti make his feel safer.
“B-baby, I think,” he bit at his thumb.
“Ohhh, so you’re really a baby, aren’t you?” Virgil teased.
“Nooo! m’ big, like you!” he tried to stay serious but giggled again.
Virgil softly tugged his hand away from his mouth, and Patton pouted.
“Well I was coming in here to ask if you wanted help with lunch for when Roman and Logan come back...But it seems you’re to little to do that yourself anyways,”
“I can be big, and make da food for everyone!” Patton offered.
“No, it’s alright, stay little. You’re just so cute, are you okay with the others seeing you like this?”
“I wan tell them anyways, can’t keep secrets...”
Virgil nodded, “If you are uncomfortable-”
“Noooo, want them to know,” Patton assured, going back to biting on his thumb nail.
“Patton, no,” Virgil pulled his hand away from his mouth, and the boy pouted.
“Sorry,” he mumbled.
Something else seemed to click in his head, “Do you wanna pacifier, Patton?”
He shook his head shyly, and VIrgil didn’t believe him. He thought up a pacifier he knew the regressed one would love, and it appeared in his hand behind his back. He made sure to picture up an adult one, so the poor boy’s teeth wouldn’t suffer.
“Not even this one?” he held up the white pacifier, which had light blue craft gems, and read ‘kitten’ on the handle. He vaguely remembered seeing it on a tumblr page, and made it appear for him.
Patton made grabby hands towards it, and once it was in his mouth he scrunched up his nose in an adorable way. He let out a small squeak, bouncing in place.
Virgil heard two light ‘pops’ in the commons, meaning that the two other sides had come back. Patton whimpered.
“How about I go talk to them about this? You can re-state everything when you’re big. This is just so they can meet little patton, and so they’re not confused in anyway, alright?”
Patton slowly nods, and Virgil makes his way out to see the other two sides, greeting them.
“Hey Virge, what’s Patton making for lunch?” Roman asked, greeting him with a light kiss on the cheek.
“We haven’t started it..he’s little,” Virgil told them quietly.
“What?”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, I went into his room to ask if he wanted help with lunch and he was regressed, like baby-age,” Virgil warned.
“Younger than you when you’re little?” Logan asked.
“Mhm, he doesn’t know how it happened. I figured we can actually talk about it later, but for now, just go with it,” Virgil instructed, and the other two nodded.
Virgil went to walk away, but he turned back around. “Warning, he’s adorable,”
The other two laughed as the anxious trait went to retrieve the boy. He entered the room, “Pat, they’re ready for you!”
Patton bounced in place, moving his blankets off of him and pulling the pacifier out of his mouth. “Why don’t you want the pacifier?”
“Dem judge me,” he shook his head, leaving it on the bed.
“No they won’t,” Virgil sat next to him, picking up the pacifier. Patton pouted, but he also wanted it.
“Open your mouth, baby,” Virgil instructed, and Patton pouted shyly. He obied, and smiled softly once it was back in his mouth.
Virgil got back up, motioning for the boy to follow him, but Patton pouted around his pacifier. “Help?” he made grabby hand motions.
Virgil took his hand, and helped him out of his bed. He was clumsy, and almost tripped over air. “oops!” he giggled.
Virgil walked him out of the room, and Patton let go of his hand and ran to Logan. He almost tripped again, but Logan caught him. “Hi hi, Lo!” he wrapped his arms around him and rested his head on his chest. The sight was adorable to both Roman and Virgil.
“Hi there, Pat,” Logan hugged him back.
Two out of the four were now confirmed regressors, and Virgil had a feeling that he was right about it being something all of them did. Some would just endorse it more than others.
