random, but, thinking about it-- good, accurate, and respectful representation of schizophrenia in fiction and media probably saved my life and is 100% what helped me find resources for myself. by the way.

okay so i was talking to @feralruin last night about coming up with a new ship name for arthur and parker cause there has got to be something better out there than parkthur.
came up with the following two ideas:
1. “challenger deep”
parker as a fighter/boxer hence the connotation to challenge. he also challenged arthur’s tendency to spiral and self destruct.
deep as it’s connection to drowning and parker arguably pulled arthur from his deepest trench, saving him from ‘bedrock’
2. “closet case”
this one was definitely more of a joke but i like the dual meaning of hidden queer love along with the fact that parker was hidden away in a closet and arthur continues to investigate/take on cases.
i’d love to hear other people’s ideas and thoughts about these or other ship names for parker/arthur !!

Random movie ideas:
1) A comedy-historical movie about the Great Emu War, starring Chris Hemsworth, Jai Courtney, and Ben Mendelsohn as the soldiers ordered to kill the emus.
2) A legal drama based on the real-life lawsuit between Todd McFarlane and Neil Gaiman over the character rights of Spawn (think “The Social Network”). For casting, I was thinking John Krasinski as McFarlane and Andrew Garfield as Gaiman.
3) A horror movie about a submarine crew that goes down to Challenger Deep to study the area and end up discovering the remnants of an underwater city. The researchers managed to gain entry into the city, not knowing they’re walking into a nightmarish situation. For a potential cast, I was thinking Idris Elba, Kate Siegel, and Steven Yeun as the 3 leads.
4) A coming-of-age movie about a teenager (played by Amybeth McNulty) who runs away from home and makes her way to California since her favorite band is looking for a drummer. She fails the audition, but is taken in by the band’s manager (played by Keanu Reeves) when she says that she doesn’t want to go back to her family.
5) A comedy-historical movie about the Lobster War, with the main focus being on the Brazilian and French governments debating whether lobsters are fish or not. Aubrey Plaza plays the protagonist who is a journalist who can’t believe this conflict is an actual thing. By the way, here’s a meme to summarize this potential movie:

in 1960, Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard became the first people to reach the floor of the Mariana Trench in the bathyscaphe Trieste. Here's a study of them, that I won't finish.

The Deepest Place on Earth: The Secrets of the Mariana Trench
Introduction Hidden beneath the vast Pacific Ocean lies one of the most mysterious, extreme, and least explored places on Earth—the Mariana Trench. At nearly 11,000 meters (36,000 feet) deep, the trench is the deepest part of the world’s oceans. If you dropped Mount Everest into it, the peak would still be over 2 kilometers underwater! But what makes the Mariana Trench so fascinating? What…

forgive my poor articulation, it's been years since i've read challenger deep and idk if i'll ever pick it up again but i remember reading it in my early teens and it was the first book that really "traumatised" me. the idea of having your mental health deteriorate so quickly and unexpectedly is terrifying!! i distinctly remember reading about caden filling a multiple choice question paper (americans call them a scantron i think?) with that feeling that something is horribly wrong and then everything went downhill from there... the way neal shusterman described the progression of his failing mental state and descent into schizophrenia made the book feel painstakingly hard to read (for me)
