Chances Part 4

Pairing = Cillian Murphy x Original Character

Summary = Final Part

“What if I hadn't asked for your name? And time hadn't stopped when you said it to me? Of all of the plans that I could've made Of all of the nights that I couldn't sleep”

Turning my head at the sound of the singing, my eyes fluttered opened to see Cillian standing just beside my bed singing to our little bundle of joy that arrived in the world four weeks early. It was surreal one minute I was in Cillian’s parents, the next I was in an operating theatre getting yet another C section to Welcome our Baby Girl to the World.

“What's a girl like you doing in a place like this? In a crowded room, what are the odds? What's a guy like me doing in a place like this? Getting close to you, but here we are…”

Listening to the words Cillian was singing to our little girl I couldn’t help but smile, the familiarity of the words playing in my mind but not sinking in as to why I knew them. Cillian had yet to notice I was awake and there was no way I was going to interrupt what was probably the most beautiful scene in front of me.

“What are the chances that we'd end up dancing? Like two in a million, like once in a life I could have found you, put my arms around you Like two in a million, like once in a life What are the chances?”

I felt tears prick in my mind as I was reminded of our night together eight months prior. One of the happiest times of my life, dancing with a tall, dark haired stranger with the most amazing eyes. Feeling the freest I had ever felt, there was no judgement, there was just me, just Cillian, together.

“Is it love? Is it fate? Who am I? Who's to say? Don't know exactly what it means Is it love? Is it fate? Where it leads, who can say? Maybe you and I were meant to be”

At that moment, Cillian happened to look in my direction, immediately seeing my eyes open. The smile never leaving his face as he continued to sing to our daughter who was settled quite happily in his arms. Reaching a hand up I wiped away a stray tear that had fallen from my eye as Cillian came closer to me, holding our baby girl so we could both see her sleeping face.

“What are the chances that we'd end up dancing? What if I'd never run into you? And what if you'd never smiled at me?”

“Where did you learn that song?” I asked quietly as he finished placing a small kiss on our little girls head, placing her back in the plastic cot the hospital provides after a baby is born. Walking back over to me, Cillian didn’t say anything as he leaned forward placing his forehead against mine, capturing my lips in the softest, yet most passionate kiss I had ever experienced in my life.

“Dermott” Cillian breathed as he parted from my lips, his head still remaining on mine, just staring into my eyes. “He says it's our song, because it describes how we met perfectly”

“It does” I nodded placing my head behind his head pulling him closer to me, placing my lips against his once more.

“I love you Paige” Cillian whispered against my lips

“I love you too Cillian” I nodded against him, enjoying the closeness we were sharing before his family came bounding through the door looking for a look at their newest addition.

Once Aoife Fiadh Murphy was born, there was simply no denying her parentage. She was the double of her father with the same stunning blue eyes.
