This year truly has been about love & friendship. I’m typically a bit of a mountain hermit, but this year I’ve been making more time to camp out, ride, kayak, hike and generally hang out with people that inspire me. I want to again thank @chefcampers , @stevenfoxall & @fidothesyncro for similarly making time for me. There’s something about camping out with people in a small place that makes you all so close, so quickly. It’s magical. If you haven’t seen @onlyaroadtripaway ‘s work then you’re missing out. I think it’s important to note from the start that these guys are on another level when it comes to film making. Moreover, they built this custom Range Rover from scratch without any prior experience and it’s one of the highest levels of workmanship I’ve ever seen. Seriously. April 2019 @chefcampers #35mm - In this month one of my steel coolant pipes blew hours from where I’m based in the Arctic. Mike & Steph ( @chefcampers ) hung around for almost two weeks to help me get the part & fix the van. It’s safe to say they’re two of the kindest, most wonderful & inspiring individuals I’ve ever met on the road. I’m extremely grateful for their friendship...but mainly for the bangin’ food Mike always cooks for me 🤤. This year I’ve met more amazing people on the road than ever before ( most recently @chefcampers & @stevenfoxall ) and last night was no different with @fidothesyncro . I’d seen their van around and was hoping we’d cross paths and last night we finally managed to organise a camp out. Frank & Ewa are such a blast and very kindly invited me into their lovely van, cooked me dinner and we enjoyed a few cheeky alcoholic beverages 🍻. IMPORTANT - my good friends and fellow vanlifers @chefcampers have had a major breakdown with a possibly severe engine failure. Mike & Steph are one of the kindest, most genuine and selfless couples I’ve ever met and in April they hung around in the Arctic Circle for two weeks to help repair my van. I was devastated for them after a relatively new high end engine rebuild gave up this week. If you know anyone with a spare WBX engine or repair/engine builder in Europe please head over to their account and drop them a message.
