Container gardening while living in a Singapore HDB apartment is not easy. This is especially so when the friendly government builds a wonderful lift elevator right on your landing level, essentially blocking off all the sunlight outside your door. Although I love the convenience of having a 'personal' elevator right outside my door, it's really tough to grow any vegetables or flowers without adequate light. Hence, after some trial and error I have whittled my 9th floor HDB landing garden down to house plants that can survive in low light. In the spirit of Chinese New Year, I have included two beautiful chrysanthemums into the landing garden despite the low light. These babies are about to bloom any way, and will certainly add to the 9th floor community cheer.
Obviously, my dog enjoys my landing garden as much as we do.

Chowbox does a solid Down-Stay and looks to me for instructions as a golden retriever plays with a food-filled Kong. I'm so proud!!

hellooo I love ur art, if it's not a problem, what brushes do you use, I'm genuinely curious because ur art looks amazing!
hiii anon, thank you so much! the brushes i used mainly depend on the piece, but https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/search?word=1989544 & https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/search?word=1758182 are my go to. other than that I used default brushes to blend like gouache.

In the second week of our home training, using positive reinforcement techniques, we taught Chowbox to jump positively. Our goal is to manage his inevitable jumping on other people by rewarding him to jump on command and not when we did not ask for it. So far it's going quite slowly because Chowbox gets extremely excited when he meets new people and we're waiting patiently for his first sign of improvement in this matter.

It's been 4 weeks, yes.
It's been 4 weeks with this mongrel and we've had our ups and downs. Since bringing him home in July, we've been consistently teaching him the basic foundations according to positive reinforcement teachings, and it's true, we have progressed quite a bit with this mutt.
Week 4, Day 28:
✓ Sit - excellent
✓ Down - excellent
✓ Jump on command - excellent
✗ Pose: standing on all fours and holding the pose on command. Needs work.
✓ Real-life rewards system: cueing Chowbox to sit for everything. He sits on command, and even sits automatically before we enter the house after walks, and while waiting for the elevator.
✗ Recall: he still has problems coming when we call for him when he's super-ecstatic-excited. We're patiently attempting to redirect his energy when he enters that state as well as prevent situations from happening that encourages him to push up his excitement to such a high level. However, we can't control every situation he enters, especially when he meets another dog coming down the same street. Working on this.
✹ (this is my symbol for 'Depends') Leash walking: "Be A Tree" when he pulls on the leash. Some days it works and some days it doesn't. It's frustrating. We have been consistently applying this technique and the success of this technique varies.
✓ Leash: Informal Heeling Practicing quick Starts/Stops with Sits thrown in. We have been consistent in this and he's progressing gradually.
✓ Puppy-pushups: Getting Chowbox to do 'Sit-Down-Sit' is officially a success! We have been generalizing this across different settings.
✓ Off-Take It: Success. He backs away from things we command 'OFF' to, and then moves forward to take things when we say 'TAKE IT'
✓ Cookie-Sit-Stay: Success. I practiced daily with him by putting his Kong/bone/treat within inches from his nose and making him stay by commanding 'OFF', and then after 5-15 seconds I say 'TAKE IT'. Excellent progress.
Walking around the neighbourhood with Chowbox everyday for the past 4 weeks has been eventful. I have also seen alot of well-behaved dogs which make me think that Montreal dogs are quite well-trained in general. Occasionally we see dogs pulling on leashes and walking a metre ahead of its owner and we laugh to ourselves. The other day I saw a tiny girl walking a large German Shephard who heels so well it's inspiring. I only hope that Chowbox will internalize the training eventually without us having to bring him to a professional trainer.
