breaking news from chpd! regarding the chhope investigation.

the department has been investigating the murder of hope upton for weeks and solved the case. the victim moved to cape hazel from their parents’ home in cape sienna in late july. in early september, they began intermittently depositing large sums of money in various bank accounts, and chpd later discovered the victim stole the money from the city of cape hazel’s special funds allocated to rebuild the diner. since the funds were stolen, chpd and the city have, in conjunction, been investigating that disappearance.

it seems that former mayor zeff’s recent spouse, mayor tanny of cape sienna, discovered before chpd that the victim looted the funds. because he was the anonymous donor who gifted $1 million to rebuild the diner, he was very upset and decided to take matters into his own hands. on october 1, 2019, tanny tevito murdered hope upton by the lighthouse. it is believed that former mayor zeff may have assisted in the cover-up following the murder. tanny and zeff have been taken into custody and will be tried accordingly.

it’s 7:41 am, and a crowd has formed around the yellow police tape barrier.  nobody is speaking, uncharacteristic of the town, but the news has cut through everybody’s hearts. a body was found on the shore by the lighthouse, and someone overheard a police officer say it was hope upton’s. oh, who could have ever done this? even i, the omniscient narrator, am far too shaken to continue.

this multifaceted plot drop will last through the end of october, and members can opt out if they choose to.

introducing candidate no. 2...karen!

we now introduce longtime cape hazel resident karen for candidacy. after living on cape hazel for her entire life, it was an easy decision for karen to throw her hat in the ring. she boasts experience and understanding of the many eras of cape hazel and will proudly lead the town away from its mistakes, which she has never forgotten. karen promises to bring this town economic and cultural success by boosting the tourism and entertainment industries. the flow of traffic through cape hazel is what will not only sustain the town but allow us to transcend into a golden age of prosperity, and we’ll have fun doing it.

introducing candidate no. 1....big jimothy the raccoon!

to kick off our candidate introductions, one candidate’s timely paperwork was exceptionally easy to approve. we introduce to you all big jimothy, cape hazel’s favorite furry friend. big jimothy was the runner-up against former mayor zeff in the last election and returns with the same platform. big jimothy promises to devote town funds and energy to preserving the abundant natural wildlife of cape hazel. from the seas to the woodlands, our home is our responsibility, and big jimothy is ready to hold us all accountable.

with former mayor zeff unseated, the city must host a special election to elect a new mayor. townspeople have been invited to submit their candidacy, and candidates will be announced as they are approved. the election will begin friday, november 8 and conclude sunday, november 10.

due to potential allegations against jeff goldblum that may make players uncomfortable, we have removed mayor zeff from office. the new mayor will no longer run a gossip blog, but npcs will remain, as always, the wacky heart of cape hazel that make the town and rp who we are.

at the time of voting, please send all votes to the old mayor blog. we encourage you to interact outside of voting through drabbles, interactions, edits, etc., anything to incorporate this event into the rp.

attention, cape hazeliens, this is your mayor speaking. our beloved diner, around the clock, has been burnt down. as atrocious as the interior design was and as abysmal as the food was, this place was home to many of our beautiful townspeople. authorities are currently looking into the cause of the travesty, so everybody is currently unsure of the situation, including your desolate mayor. this is truly so devastating, so if any of you know any details, please send your tips to the police and my blog. i am personally helping the authorities with the investigation. for those of you who have been financially impacted by the fire, the mayor’s office will try and assist you with your situation. i am deeply disturbed by this event, and i hope i can help ease the woes and pains of my precious town. do be careful around the area, and be careful with your hearts.

breaking news! a town crier reported to the campsite that she saw zeff carried away by a band of raccoons. the cape hazeliens are now at odds about whether or not to save zeff. what will your muse do?

breaking news! the daughter of mayor zeff goldblum, who has been missing for 11 days, has been found. the 26-year-old woman, sasha goldblum, was discovered returning to her town home on yorkside to collect an item. police staking out the home apprehended goldblum and discovered that she faked her own kidnapping and has been hiding in a neighboring town for almost two weeks. furthermore, the police suspect miss goldblum is responsible for a slew of ransom notes delivered to citizens all throughout town demanding items she needed while she kept up her charade. when asked to comment on why she faked her own kidnapping through twitter, miss goldblum commented, “you people will never understand!! you’ll never understand what it’s like to be me!!”

All of Cape Hazel is in a frenzy. Mayor Goldblum has taken to the streets, determined to find his missing daughter. Everybody has been informally tasked with finding Sasha Goldblum, the mayor’s precious daughter and beloved citizen of the Cape. She is approximately 5’3” with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Anybody with information about her whereabouts are encouraged to call 555-THE-CAPE. Please be alert, and do not approach any dangerous subjects.

the police have an update in the case of the mayor’s missing daughter. ransom notes have been sent to random citizens of the town, but authorities have yet to track down the sender of the notes. as of yet, no threats have been made against miss goldblum’s safety or that of her family and friends, but the missing person’s whereabouts remain unsolved. anyone with information or notes pertaining to miss goldblum’s disappearance are urged to report to the authorities immediately.

mayor goldblum released on sunday evening a list of suspects in the case of sasha’s disappearance. the authorities have since eliminated several suspects. what remains is the following list:

introducing...netty knight. while netty is a newcomer to cape hazel, they are no stranger to politics and leadership. netty light held one of the longest and most popular offices in cape sienna history and is largely accredited for massive strides in economic and social change in our neighboring town. netty has decades of experience and has offered to come out of retirement to lead cape hazel into a new era. they have committed to the integrity and prosperity of our economy and environment, our history and our development, our culture and socialization, and everything else cape hazeliens could dream of. // ooc: netty is a betty white fc.

after careful consideration, we have accepted sasha goldblum’s candidacy for mayor. over the past month, sasha has been instrumental in recent town investigations, and her eye witness testimony is the foundation of the case against tanny tevito and zeff goldblum. she cites a newfound passion for justice. if elected mayor of cape hazel, where she has lived her entire life, she commits to keeping our neighborhoods safe and holding people accountable for their actions.
