Could you imagine Clayhoun Jr. and Anne Clay/Fletcher Webster (Clayster Jr.??) occurring at the same time? The boys are all family now.
( either Clayster Jr. or Webclay Jr., honestly. Take ur pick )
OH ABSOLUTELY.
I'm picturing it in my head rn and-- okay. so first of all, Anne Brown Clay died in 1835 otl so we have two choices from there on,
a. she lives longer and marries fletcher that way or
b. clayster/webclay jr. takes place earlier around 1830-1835 roughly. which would mean that clayhoun jr. would have to take place three years earlier also ( since in my head, clayhoun jr. takes place around 1837 - 1838 )
The first option feels less messier, so... hm... ok. Let's assume this is 1837-1838.
So...
I think Clay would be horrified that Anna and Henry Jr. hitched. but at least at this time, I don't think he'd be particularily concerned about Fletcher and Anne getting married. yes, he has his reservations, but you know, with Webster, he's like-- plotting out 'okay, how does this work, can I use this, will this change anything politically,' ( in addition to reasonable other nonpolitical concerns too of course ) in his head, because Clay's-- Clay's a smart guy, he KNOWS that this can have Ramifications beyond his personal Thoughts, and he wants to make sure he's using this properly. What this does mean is though once the good ol' 1840s roll around, Webster has a lot more explaining to do about his er Presidential choices....
Calhoun.. doesn't like it either. But on a FUNDAMENTAL level there's nothing that he can really say is BAD about Anna newfound love interests but -- . Anna... are you sure you want this?? Is this some new rebellious phase thing that I don't know about???-- Did Clay send his kids out to fish potential allies?? Webster, you're seeing this too right, is this an elaborate Clayplot?? Webster??? Oh BOY any press that hates Clay would have a field day if they were ever to make a story about how Clay was USING HIS CHILDREN TO ENTRAP SENATORS TO HIS SIDE IT'S A CORRUPT BARGAIN ALL OVER AGAIN--
And WEBSTER... Webster, I don't think he particularly cares much, but he probably would find it greatly annoying if nothing else.Either ways, he and Calhoun would annoy Clay constantly.
and this isn't even getting into the kids themselves..
I'm sure all of them would at least try to at least present a Unified Front though, so... maybe...
Webhoun Jr. as the next logical step???

Anna Brown Clay ( b. 1846- 1931 )
the longest living… and probably the last installment in this series.
