Prompt Announcement!

Hello, all! Thank you all for your submissions! We didn't get a ton so we opted not to do an elimination round (tbf, we were maybe a tad ambitious this year). The ones we did get were amazing and wonderful and we hope they inspire some wonderful Codexwan creations!

As a reminder, you'll have 8 weeks to create something for the event. We have 3 prompts per day, so you have options on what you might like to do across the week.

Codexwan week starts April 6 and runs to April 12. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Fanfiction Writer's Appreciation Day #2:

The Sun Swings East by @feybarn

Over and over, Obi-Wan woke up and wished he hadn't. Palpatine wouldn't stop until Obi-Wan had Fallen, wouldn't stop until Obi-Wan gave Palpatine a shattered galaxy in payment for his release.

I was consumed by the theme for this book - I wanted so bad to bring the sunrise motif into it, and I also wanted to bring back the inset mirror design. I leaned a lot harder into the hexagon shapes on this one too, and I stole the work printer for color printing for a steadily progressing sunrise.

I got super lucky that I had 4 colors of Colibri bookcloth I was able to layer to create the effect on the cover, with the sun coming over the eastern horizon. And then of course I had to give it some gradient endbands and marbled endpapers to match!

I was also very lucky to be allowed to include art by @wrennette and @lucife56 in this copy, as well as a bonus "All Those Little Things" codexwan chaser. Thank you to all of you - KJ_Feybarn, wrennette, lucife56 - all of your beautiful creations and how they interact is what makes fandom such a fantastic place. But since it is FFWAD - thank you KJ_Feybarn, for your striking and inspiring writing!

Cody has always found it difficult to tell Rex no. He finds it impossible when Rex has been dark for a week on a mission gone bad and is currently pumped full of drugs.

Apparently, this extends to inviting other people into their bed. It'd be easier if Cody didn't want a certain Jedi there, too.

Announcing the 2025 Codexwan Prompt Week!

We are a laid-back event with no minimum requirements for any fan work created. Our one requirement is that the relationship between Cody, Rex, and Obi-Wan be the main focus of your fan work, otherwise anything goes!

Everyone will be able to submit their favorite prompt–any prompt! Once all prompts have been submitted, you get to vote and tell us what your favorites are! Once finalized, content creators will have 8 weeks to work on their creation(s), so you can do as many, or as few, as you want.

Prompt Submissions open on January 6, 2025

Prompt Voting will begin on January 20, 2025

Prompt Elimination will begin on January 27, 2025

Final Prompts will be announced between February 4 - 5, 2025

AAAaaaaaa THIS!! Firefighter Au! CodexWan

hello! I stumbled onto your blog and found your Clones firefighter photoshoot and i got way too excited so could i share some headcanons with you? I would kill for this AU, cause I am a firefighter. Technically Company 212 and 501 would be on different ends of the city cause the number difference is large (like company 20 would be closer to company 25 , etc) so maybe they only meet up for really big calls, like a 2nd 3rd alarm fire, so that would require farther away companies to provide

support. I imagine 212 would be an engine company, so they have the water and a calmer group of people, they’ve seen fire and they know how to face her. 501 would be the hotheaded truck company, meant for search and rescue without the safety of a hose line. It’s a bit more dangerous, but they do the rescuing. Poor Rex would be the long suffering Captain of his motley crew, with Fives running off ahead of the group doing something reckless but ultimately saves the victim.

Cody is primarily with Company 212 but he’s the Battalion Chief, running command outside while everyone is committed to putting out the fire of this large apartment building. Jesse is the Lieutenant leading a search inside. Rex and Fives are in the bucket of the truck, heading towards the roof until they hear the dulcet tones of a certain Obi-Wan Kenobi, on his balcony patiently waiting to be rescued.

He’s breathing a little roughly, having been breathing in residual smoke and heat. Rex bridal carries him down to the ground and deposits him to Kix and his team of paramedics. Tup is the probie, fresh out of the Academy, anxious and perhaps a little scared but Fives and Echo keep him low, tell him to skip breath to conserve air because they can hear him breathing too quickly, unused to the claustrophobic nature of the mask. After the fire is out, and everyone is safely out, Jesse and his crew covered in little kittens that they had rescued from a smoke filled apartment, Cody breathes a sigh of relief. He checks in with Waxer and Boil and their crews, red and exhausted after fighting the fire. He pats Rex on his shoulder, asking for PAR of his company, making double sure everyone is accounted for.

Conveniently, photographer Obi-Wan wishes to show his gratitude, and in conjunction with Mayor Amidala’s approval, a photo shoot of the city’s hero’s are in order. Insert blatant fan service of shirtless firefighters and bunker pants, of puppies and kittens and various posing with pike poles. At the end of the shoot, Obi-Wan finds himself flanked by two shirtless men, the blonde Captain th,at rescued him from his apartment, and the solemn looking Battalion Chief with a wicked scar on his left temple, who had asked if he was alright, sitting in the back of the ambulance cradling a water and wrapped in a orange shock blanket. Maybe they invite Obi for a coffee and a tour of the station? Somehow end up canoodling in the empty bunkroom until they’re dispatched for like a cat up a tree.

The warm night air was rich with the heady floral notes of spring, the moon was reflecting serenely off the water of the lake, and it was all making one thing abjectly clear — Naboo was a terrible planet to be miserable on.

Finally finished chapter 2 of the vaguely based on Persuasion Codexwan fic. I can’t promise fast updates, but I can promise this one has Obi-wan POV and a flashback to what exactly happened at the end of the war that got things twisted.

It is my birthday tomorrow (at least in my timezone), May 19th AND we are past 150 followers! This is my way to celebrate!!

Rules:

Any star wars ship welcome but I am partial to cloneshipping, anyone ship with the clones (Codexwan, Foxiyo, Rexwalker, etc.), Rexsoka, Obikin, Kalluzeb, Kanera, Bobadin, Dincobb, and Bobadincobb. I do not know legends characters very well, but I would scour wookiepedia for you?

After the hell that has been the last year and a half of my life, I have lost a significant amount of friends (yay abusers /s), I don't live near the friends I do have, and well we won't get into my family life.

Star Wars has been the single thing keeping me going through this time. During June last year when everything and i mean *everything* in my life was upended, I laid in bed (literally the only safe space in the living situation I was in) and binged most of canon Star Wars. I cried, I laughed, I sobbed, I got angry, I fell in love with characters, I wanted to punch palpatine and hemlock in the face, etc. I started interacting with the community here and on twitter and tbh the majority of the friends in my life at the moment are from the star wars community.

I fell face first back into the abyss of fanfiction and I have read well over a thousand fics now in just a year. It was my escape. I lost a majority of my hobbies and motivation to do anything more than roll over in bed that my hobby became reading fanfics. I still consume an enormous amount of fics whilst trying to get back on my feet.

Small sui mention (will be done at next red text):

There many times where I considered ending it within the last year. One of the very few things that kept me going was star wars and star wars fanfiction. I have been suffering a lot. Both my physical and mental environment has been absolute hell that has driven me past my breaking point several times. It hasn’t been this bad in years.

So I wanted to give back a little bit.

I literally have absolutely *no* money like i have $19 in my savings account and the money from my last paycheck is already gone or will be gone once my phone bill comes out. I can't give back financially. I can somewhat drawn but only on paper as i don’t have an iPad or drawing tablet. Traditional media art takes *so* long (digital art takes long too but you can just hit "undo" when you make a mistake) and I have nerve issues in my hands. I have only done a minimum amount of writing and whilst I'm not confident at all on it (granted i have zero self esteem), the little that I have done has been hyped up a lot which I am constantly taken aback by.

Writing is the way I can give back for all the love that has helped me through these hard times, and hopefully I meet new folks through this. So thank you all for everything you have done and for getting me through this awful period of my life. Here's to my 25th year of life being significantly better.
