A RESOUNDING SUCCESS FOR FEMSLASH WEEK

A big thank you to everyone who took part and made this event so great.

We have been inundated with fic, moodboard, manips and drabbles for popular ships, rarepairs and even the odd pool noodle, and we’ve been loving it.

We’ll continue to monitor the tag #FSFFWeek20 in case there’s any late submissions, and we’ll keep the collection open too.

Coldflash Bang 2020

Hey guys,

After seeing the amount of interest and people talking to us on here and in discord, we are considering having our next Coldflash event for this year be a Bang.

It would likely involve a mini-bang (1-5k) and a big bang (>5k) to choose between, for authors, and for artists we would be accepting line art, graphics, manips, gifsets and videos.

If this is something you’d be interested in, please like and/or reblog this post so we can gauge potential numbers.

And of course please offer any suggestions in the notes or as an Ask.

Coldflash Bang 2020  - 1st Check in (optional) and Opening of Draft Submissions’ Window

Hey guys it’s time for the 1st Bang check in for Authors! But this is an optional check in so you can choose whether or not you touch base with us

If you are checking in:

- Get in touch via email (coldflashevents@gmail.com), tumblr or discord and let us know how you’re getting on, any word counts and any problems

- As a rough guideline, you should have ~25% of each of your fics done at this stage (but don’t feel bad if you haven’t started yet some of the organisers haven’t)

- This is also a good opportunity to let us know if you’re dropping out

We’re also opening the Draft Submissions Window:

- You have from today 19/07/2020 until 22/08/2020 to submit your draft/summaries

- An email will be sent to you today containing the template we’d like you to use

- This is what the Artists will see when they are choosing works to make art for come the Artist claims. Be as detailed as you can to give the Artists a good idea of what your fic will contain

- If you’re doing more than one fic, please fill in a template for each

- Check all your inboxes of the email you provided in the sign up in case it goes into your Spam folder. If you’re sure you haven’t received it by tomorrow, just get in touch and we’ll resend it or give you the template directly

Artist Sign ups - still open!

An artist is anyone who creates traditional art, graphical art, moodboards, gifsets, videos, playlists, manips, icons, banners, wallpapers, makes models, costumes, sculptures, composes songs and more! All forms of art are valid for this event.

Just get in touch if you’re unsure about signing up as an artist.

Calling all Artists - Time to get your Coldflash on

Author sign-ups are closed for our Coldflash Bang 2020 now but we are accepting Artists sign-ups until 22nd August

And we would love more artists!

What qualifies as art?

Not just traditional art! An artist for this event is anyone who produces fanworks that aren’t fic - which is gifs, graphics, playlists, manips, sculptures, icons and more!

Fanworks

For this event we will be accepting all kinds of fanworks as art. Here are some rough guidelines:

Traditional art: Paintings, sketches, lineart etc, black and white or coloured, at a size of at least 500x500 pixels

Graphical art: Digital drawings using software or art programs, black and white or coloured, at a size of at least 500x500 pixels

Manips / Moodboards: Photoshops and other digital art creations using clean high definition imagery without watermarks. 1 x manip with obvious manipulation or 3 x moodboards

Gifsets: At least 5 gifs of high definition footage with some level of special effect or manipulation

Wallpapers / Icons /  Banners:  At least 5 icons of 100x100 each, 1 x wallpaper covering an entire screen, or 3 x banners

Videos: A video consisting of high definition video footage and audio, at least 1 minute or the length of a full song

Sculptures / Costumes / Physical creations: 1 sculpture, 1 custom made garment or 1 3D prop

Music: A playlist with at least 10 songs and some form of unique cover art, or a recording of an original song with lyric sheet

And this is just a small list, if your art isn’t listed above, that doesn’t mean it’s not valid for this event!

So if you’re a creator who loves Coldflash, we’d love to have you. There will be lots of Coldflash fics to choose from and we can’t wait to see what everyone produces!

I only just found out about this blog, Coldflash Events and the 2020 Big Bang. I would have loved to write a story, but I'm a little late now. 🙈 Thank you for organizing this though, and hopefully I'll join you for a next event! Xx
