Baby Steps
“Belle!”
Belle looked up at the sound of her own name and saw Snow White crossing the street, a huge smile on her face.  When she arrived on the same side of the road she bent down, getting a better look into the stroller that Belle was pushing.
“And Gideon!  Wow, I feel like it’s been forever since I last saw you.  Look at how big you’ve gotten!”
“Yeah, he’s a little weed that’s for sure.” Belle smiled in return, looking down at her son.  “Hey Gid, do you want to say hi to Snow?”
“Oh, is he talking now?”  Snow looked up, then back at Gideon expectantly.
“Well, no.  Not really.”  Belle shrugged.  “He babbles a lot, but nothing we can make out as actual words yet.”
“Ah, I remember that stage.”  Snow nodded her head wryly.  “Neal babbled ‘dada’ when he was six months old and David absolutely insisted it counted as his first word.”
“What was his actual first word?”
“Dada.”  Snow laughed.  “When he was ten months he pointed directly at David and said it, so I had to concede the point.  He said ‘mama’ soon after though, so I didn’t feel too left out.”
“Rumple thinks that Gideon will say ‘mama’ first but I’m not so sure.”
“Well, I’m sure you won’t have to wait too long to find out. He’s what?  Fourteen months now?  How is he with walking?  Has he taken his first steps yet?”
“No, not yet.”  Belle kept her smile on her face with effort.  “He crawls a bit, but generally prefers to stay put and play with whatever he has around him.”
“Consider yourself lucky.”  Snow stood back up to her full height and addressed Belle directly.  “Neal was an early walker and budding escape artist. I’d turn my back for half a second and he’d be gone.  I longed for the days when I could set him down somewhere and know he’d stay put!”
“Sounds like he was a bit of a handful.”
“Very much so,” Snow agreed.  “But totally worth it.”
“Oh, definitely.”  Belle smiled down at Gideon fondly.
“Well, I’ve gotta run but it was great to see you.”  Snow took a step back.  “And I hope you’re coming to the Fourth of July celebrations tomorrow.”
“Oh, right.”  Belle shook her head at herself.  “I’d completely forgotten about that.  But, sure, I’ll ask Rumple but I don’t think we have any plans.”
“Great!  See you there!”
*
When Rumplestiltskin returned from the shop that evening he smiled at the sound of the voices of his wife and child drifting through from the living room.  Moving slowly he peeked around the door frame to see them both sat on the floor, Belle with a compact set of flashcards in her hand.
“Ooh, look at this one, Gideon.  Camel.  Ca-mel.”
“Ab-da!  Ba!”
“And here’s a crocodile.  Croc-o-dile.”
“La-do.  Hee.”  Gideon reached out to bat away the card.
“All right, not a fan of crocodiles I see. How about an armadillo?  Can you say ‘armadillo’?”
“Lo!”
“Yes, armadillo!”
Rumplestiltskin decided now was a good time to make his presence known.  “Expecting our son’s first word to be ‘armadillo’ is a tad ambitious, don’t you think?”
Belle and Gideon both turned to him, beaming smiles on their faces.
“Rumple!  Hi, we didn’t hear you come in.”  Belle pushed herself up on her knees enough to receive the kiss he leaned down to bestow on her lips as he walked up to her.  “How was your day?”
“The usual.”  He sat in the nearby armchair, close enough to reach out and stroke Gideon’s head, as Belle settled back down.  “How about you two?  Did you and Mama have a good day, Gideon?”
“We did, didn’t we?”  Belle addressed Gideon before looking up at Rumplestilskin.  “We went to the park and Gideon saw the ducks.  Then on the way back we ran into Snow White.”
“Oh?”  Rumplestiltskin kept his voice casual.  He knew his wife well enough to pick up on the way her demeanour shifted slightly when she mentioned Snow’s name.  “What did she want?”
“She was asking about Gideon.  If he’s talking and walking yet and telling me how early Neal did both of those things.”  Yes, there was a definite note of dejection in her voice now.
“She upset you,” Rumplestitlskin growled, thinking of all the ways he could make the princess’s life miserable.
“No!”  Belle hurried to reassure him.  “I mean, not on purpose.  She just wanted to talk about babies with someone she felt could relate.  And I get that, I do. I just worry about how long Gideon is taking to reach those milestones.”
“Hey.”  His voice was soft as he stood, gently pulling her to her feet as well and holding her arms carefully.  “Remember that veritable library of baby books you bought?  I know you read every single one of them. What did they all say?”
“That all babies are different and develop at their own rate.”
“Exactly.  It’s not a race, sweetheart.  Gideon is doing fine.”
“I know.  I know.  I guess I just
”
“What?  Expected him to be a genius who developed faster than all the other babies because he’s our son?”
“No!  Well, maybe a little.”  She turned away in embarrassment before meeting his eyes again, looking almost guilty.  “But it’s not just that.  Sometimes I wonder, what if it’s me?  What if I’m not doing something I should be doing, or, or doing something wrong and stifling his development somehow?”
“Belle.”  Rumplestiltskin stared intently into her eyes, wanting to make sure she was paying attention to what he was about to say.  “Listen to me.  You are a wonderful mother.  Gideon is happy and healthy and that’s what matters.  If he’s a bit late in developing then we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it, but we have plenty of time before that stage.  He’s doing fine.”
They both turned to where Gideon was still sitting on the floor, babbling away to a couple of stuffed animals.
“You’re right.”  Belle smiled in an obvious attempt to lighten the mood, before reaching down to pick up their son.  “You’re doing fine, aren’t you Gid?”
“Ba-da!”  He thrust the toy giraffe in his hand towards her face.
“For me?”  Belle took it with a smile.  “Thank you, Gideon.”
“Ahhh!  Ba!”  Gideon reached out and Belle handed the giraffe back to him.
“By the way, thanks for finding that.” Belle turned her head towards Rumplestiltskin.  “Where was it in the end?”
“Hmm?  Where was what?”
“His giraffe.  I couldn’t find it anywhere yesterday morning, but he had it today.  I thought you must have found it.”
“Not that I can recall, but then he does have a lot of toys.”  He gestured at the cluttered living room.  “It was probably just hidden under something else.”
“Maybe.”  Belle frowned as she looked around .  “I thought I checked though.  Oh, before I forget, Snow wanted to know if we’re going to the Fourth of July celebrations tomorrow?”
Rumplestiltskin sighed.  “Seems a strange thing to celebrate when we’re not even from this land.”
“Gideon is,” Belle pointed out.  “And I think it would be fun for him.  I can take him on my own if you’re not interested.”
“No, no.  I’d much rather spend the day with you two.  As long as you don’t expect me to engage in any activities.”
“I think you’ll be safe,” Belle laughed.  “You can use Gideon as a handy excuse.”
*
The Fourth of July dawned warm and sunny.  Rumplestiltskin watched in fond amusement as Belle slathered their son in SPF 50 before dressing him in a sun suit and floppy hat, then added two more bottles of sunscreen to her purse.
When they arrived at the celebrations, his wife made a bee-line for a picnic table under the shade of a large tree, claiming the whole area with the stroller and bags she had brought.  Taking a seat facing outwards towards the square she held Gideon in her lap so he could watch the goings on around them.
“Hey, guys!”  Ruby Lucas came bounding over once they had settled in, smiling widely at the family before focusing all her attention on Gideon.  “And hey, little man!  Great to see you!  Will you be joining our treasure hunt today?”
She reached into the bucket she was carrying and produced a plastic golden doubloon, waving it in front of Gideon’s face, causing him to laugh in delight.
“What treasure hunt is this?”  Belle asked.
“I’ve hidden a load of these around the square,” Ruby replied, handing the coin to Belle, “for the kids to find.  They can exchange them at Granny’s stall for cookies and treats or save them up for bigger prizes.”
“Sounds fun,” Belle said, examining the coin while Gideon tried to grab it from her.  “But I think Gideon would prefer to watch from the sidelines, wouldn’t you Gid?”
“Of course.”  Ruby winked at them, taking the coin back.  “Well I hope you have a good day, and enjoy the rest of the celebrations.”
Gideon reached out as she turned to leave, grumbling slightly.
“Aw, it’s all right, Gideon.”  Belle bounced him softly.  “You’ll see Auntie Ruby again soon.”
Gideon’s grumbling only increased, so Belle shifted him slightly to address Rumplestiltskin over his head.  “He might be hungry.  Can you grab his snacks from the back of the stroller?”
Rumplestiltskin nodded, doing as she asked, and looked up again in time to see her addressing a somewhat calmer Gideon.
“Here we go Gideon, are you hungry?  Oh, what have you got there?”  Her brow furrowed in confusion as she lifted his hand, finding a small gold coin clenched in his fist.
“Now where did that come from, hmm?”  Belle asked as she gently prised it from his grip.  “Did you take it from Auntie Ruby’s bucket when I wasn’t looking?”
“Ba!”  Gideon smiled and reached out for it.
“Sorry, sweetheart, but I don’t want you putting that in your mouth.  Here.”  Belle put the coin down before reaching into the packet Rumplestiltskin handed her.  “Would you like a yummy veggie straw instead?”
Gideon took the snack she offered and proceeded to throw it straight onto the ground.
“Guess not,” Belle laughed, leaning down to pick it up.  “Bit wasteful there, Gideon
Wait, how did you get that again?”
The coin was back in his hand and Belle took it with a shake of her head.  “I know I put that out of your reach.”
Rumplestiltskin winced, knowing his wife was not going to react well to what he had to say next.
“Sweetheart?”  He paused, waiting for her to look at him.  “Don’t be alarmed, but I think it’s possible that Gideon has been using magic.”
“What?  No, he can’t.  He’s
”  Belle trailed off as she looked down in time to see the coin vanish from her hand and reappear in Gideon’s.  “Oh.”
*
Belle’s mind was whirling as she packed up, ignoring the concerned glance Ruby threw their way, before pushing the stroller back to their house.  She could hear Rumplestiltskin behind her but he didn’t say anything until they got inside.
“Belle, sweetheart.  It’s all right.  Don’t panic.”
“Don’t panic?  Our baby has magic!  How am I not supposed to panic?”  She picked Gideon up from the stroller, examining his face as though she could find answers there.  “The books didn’t prepare me for this!”
“Really? ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ doesn’t have a chapter on Baby’s First Magic?” he quipped.
“Stop it!  This is serious.  How are you being so calm about it?  How is this even possible?”
“He’s the son of the Dark One and the product of True Love.  He was always going to be exceptional.”  Rumplestiltskin said proudly as he stepped closer, running his hand over the back of Gideon’s head.
“Yeah, I knew he would be capable of magic.  That he could harness it in the future when he’s able to understand what he’s doing.” Belle felt her voice rising and made an effort to lower it.  “But he’s only a baby.  How are we supposed to get him to control his powers when I can barely stop him putting peas up his nose?”
“I have an idea about that,” Rumplestiltskin began cautiously.  “Do you remember the magic-inhibitor cuff?  Well, I’ve been working on something similar for Gideon, more appropriate for his size.”
“Wait, you knew this was going to happen?”  Belle pulled back in shock.  “You knew and you didn’t tell me?”
“Only that it was a possibility.  I didn’t know for certain until today.  And I didn’t see any point in worrying you unnecessarily when it might never happen.”
“Right, well, in the future I would like to be informed of the possibility of our son developing magical powers before he starts pickpocketing people at town events,” she hissed.
“To be fair, Ruby did invite him to join in the treasure hunt.”  Rumplestiltskin shrugged.
“It’s not funny!” Belle snapped.  “What if he’d choked on it?  Or what if this had happened when we were at Granny’s and he decided he wanted a closer look at a shiny steak knife?”
Rumplestiltskin frowned, apparently not having considered that.  “You’re right.  I’m sorry.”  He looked down before kissing her head and she softened at his obvious contrition.  “Would you like to try the cuff?”
“I don’t see what other choice we have.”  She looked at him in the hopes he might have another suggestion.  “Do you?”
“Well, I suppose I could try baby-magic-proofing the house.  But I can’t extend that to the whole town.”
“And I don’t want to turn Gideon into a shut-in, afraid to let him interact with people.”  Belle sighed then nodded, her decision made.  “Yes, get the cuff.”
Rumplestiltskin waved his hand, a baby-sized cuff appearing in his palm.
Belle eyed it warily, feeling a pang of anxiety despite her earlier words.  “It won’t hurt him, will it?”
“Of course not.  All it will do is suppress his magic.  Hey, Gideon.”  He smiled at his son, who was eyeing the cuff with interest.  “Would you like to wear this?”
Gideon smiled and waved his arm, the cuff disappearing from Rumplestilskin’s hand and into his own.
“Clever boy,”  Rumplestiltskin smiled.  “Shall we put it on you?”
“Ado!”  Gideon threw the cuff on the floor, giving his father a toothy grin..
“Sorry, son.  That’s what we call a rhetorical question,” Rumplestiltskin chuckled, picking up the cuff and fastening it gently around Gideon’s wrist. “There you go.  It’s only for a little while, and when you’re older I’ll teach you all about magic.”
“Gick!”
“Yes, Gideon.  Magic.”  Belle smiled, bouncing him softly in her arms.  “Papa will teach you all about magic.”
“Ma-gick!”  Gideon laughed, clapping his hands.
Belle and Rumplestiltskin looked at each other in wonder.
“Did he
?” Belle whispered.
“I think he did.”
“Ma-gick!”  Gideon repeated, grinning.
“That’s my boy!”  Rumplestiltskin beamed.  “Now make your mother happy and say ‘armadillo’ next.”

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Entrance & Welcome Plaza (UPDATED)
Tumblr media
Guests arriving at the theme park pass underneath a broad arch decorated with classic LoZ characters and monsters in action poses and find themselves
nowhere special, just yet. The Welcome Plaza is a fairly simple place with only light theming, the better to let newcomers orient themselves before diving into the adventure. The features here are likewise basic and chosen to help people prep for the day ahead. On both sides of the entry gate, ambient speakers play a continuous loop of overworld and title themes from the games.
Tumblr media
(The cross-hatched area represents behind-the-scenes office space and other employee facilities, not accessible to the public.)
Attractions
There aren’t really attractions in this area per se
the closest thing would be a number of life-sized character statues scattered around the area for people to take photos of and/or with. Each of the little Triforce symbols on the map marks the location of one of these statues, in an alcove with a scenic backdrop for the aesthetic, but those aren’t necessarily the only ones. Park employees with professional-grade cameras are stationed nearby and may offer to take high-quality photos, which will be available for purchase later in the day at the Pictobox Shop in Castle Town.
Services & Amenities
Map & Compass: An information counter where guests can pick up a park map, scan QR codes in order to download specialty apps and learn about them, check in for specific “sidequest” activities and events, and have general questions answered.
Item Check: Like Link, theme park tourists may wish to carry a large collection of items in order to be prepared for any and all circumstances that may occur during their adventure. Unlike Link, they don’t have a magic satchel that carries it all weightlessly. At Item Check (named after the similar service in Skyward Sword), you can rent a storage locker for the day to hang onto your excess gear. And speaking of rentals

Ravio’s Rentals: Compact, lightweight strollers and wheelchairs can be rented here for a reasonable fee plus deposit. (The employee uniforms evoke Ravio’s distinctive purple robe and striped scarf.)
First Aid Station: Park nurses are on staff during operating hours to assist with minor injuries and ailments in a soothing environment with interior decor reminiscent of a Great Fairy Fountain.
Shops
5. A Hero’s Essentials: This basic shop sells bottled water, snacks, portable phone chargers, sunglasses, ponchos, souvenir tee-shirts and baseball caps, and other conventional merchandise that any tourist can find a use for.
6. Nintendo Store: The focus, obviously, is LoZ itself, but other Nintendo titles and merch can also be found here.
Eateries
There are no permanent eateries in this area, but portable carts offering soda and packaged snacks can be found throughout the open space.

The Ultimate 2025 Guide to Toronto Airport Limo Services
Summer Travel Is Back – But Are You Ready for the Chaos?
As Ontario rebounds from the travel disruptions of past years, Summer 2025 marks a return to full-force travel. According to aviation industry forecasts, June to August will see a 25–30% spike in domestic and international flights, particularly through major hubs like Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Ottawa (YOW), Hamilton (YHM), and London (YXU).
Amidst rising crowds, long security lines, and limited airport parking, your choice of airport transfer can make or break your travel experience. This is where Toronto airport limo services, including the cheapest airport limo Toronto options, and other Ontario-based airport limousine services emerge as the ultimate solution.
Why Airport Limo Services Make Sense in an Ontario Summer

Arrive refreshed after long-haul flights, with plush leather seats and climate-controlled interiors.
If you’re coming from surrounding cities, many providers also offer long-distance limo service across Ontario. Whether you need a limo from Niagara Falls to Toronto Airport or a Brantford limo service, you’re guaranteed a convenient ride.

IT'S WAWA WEEK
And I've been working on shorts for over 10 days now! Excited to share~
----------
25/3 – Friends: ZOO
Based on my many fun but fraught visits.
Seri learns the power of FRANDSHIP Shou tries to pet a crocodile Ritsu experiences churros They are at a zoo with American food don't question it ANTS
General Audience. No trigger warnings. Depictions of disassociation and anxiety/sensory issues. Some minor Seri/Rei. Capybara.
-----------------------
Serizawa stood in the middle of the walkway. Throngs of people flowed past- left, right, strollers, backpacks, balloons- all moving with their own purpose. That was the problem of a crowd. Being surrounded by so many yet still left completely alone, even if one’s anxieties preyed on that ever present fear that everyone is watching, everyone is judging. His fingers tensed at his sides before balling into fists. Just focus on one thing. That tree looks nice. It didn’t work. Bits of conversations bled into one another until all he could hear was chaotic noise as he took a slow, strained inhale.
“Oi, Katsuya.”
Everything snapped back into place. What was once churning and bleating returned to laughter and normal voices. A little kid ran past him asking an older sibling for ice cream. Serizawa blinked a few times until his eyes focused on a hand waving in front of his face.
Reigen gestured to the gate past the courtyard. “You’re holding on to all their tickets, buddy.”
Purpose swelled in to replace nervousness. Serizawa looked up to see the four middle schoolers gathered at the large, glassed off map near the entrance. Teru was pointing to one of the exhibits as Mob laughed, with Ritsu and Shou hanging back to avoid looking too excited. It had all started with wanting to take the Kageyama brothers out to the zoo for a small trip while their parents were out of town. Shou found out and invited himself and of course Mob was going to ask Teru to come as well.
“You alright?” Reigen tilted his head. “Kinda went a bit-“ He widened his eyes. “Starey back there.”
“S-sorry. I’m fine.”
Serizawa steadied his fingers and unzipped the small pack at his waist before starting to rummage for the pre bought tickets. Got to save money so Reigen set them up as a school trip, among other things. He didn’t even know there were discounts for the son of a wife of a veteran.
The fanny pack had been picked out by Teru when the group went shopping together last week. Serizawa made sure to pack only the essentials. Inside the bright, green, reflective, and waterproof fabric were a mini first aid kit, some hard candies, nylon rope, a small utility knife, compact flair gun, translation book, and a magnesium fire starter with two pens and a pad of paper. And of course the tickets.
“Here they are!”
His voice came out a bit too loud but Reigen didn’t seem to notice, or maybe didn’t care. He could never tell. The tickets were held at arm’s length as Reigen took and inspected them.
“You know, I’m glad you decided to come, Serizawa” A flick of his wrist, Reigen gesturing even with tickets in hand. “You’ve really improved these last few months. Taking night classes and handling society and all it throws at you. I mean the train we took here was wall to wall people.” He paused, meeting Serizawa’s eyes. “But I know one can’t just magically be fine with all of that. So let me know if you need a break, alright?”
“Of course, Reigen-san!”
Reigen blinked back, leaning into his raised hand.
“Oh, right. Casual outing, not work.”
“Right. Just like going to class!” Reigen turned. “Let’s catch up with the kids.”
No, it wasn’t just like going to class. There he took the same train, walked down the same road, saw the same people, smelled the same smells. He had built that up all on his own: forcing himself to go until every detail was memorized. Predictable. Safe. Even the shopping trip had been short enough for him to handle at a small store that lay on his normal rout to work. Serizawa could feel his heart beat ever faster.
A small pack of kids ran by screaming. Music played from various speakers. The smell of fried food mixed with a musky, earthly scent. New sounds from every side conflicted with the various signs, decorations, and posters his eyes tried to read all of them at the same time. Even his clothing, though comfortable and casual for the day, left him feeling itchy.
“Serizawa-san.”
He suddenly found himself at an exhibit in front of a glass wall looking over a recreated wetland. On land a few reptiles were lounging on broad leafed plants with fish under the water line. Mob was at his side glancing up at him without a hint of judgment in his eyes.
“Shishou says he wants to gather everyone up for a snack before we head into the rainforest building.”
“Oh.” Gears turned then started to grind. “Oh! Where- where is everyone?” Serizawa started to pull at his own hair, looking back and forth. “I was supposed to be watching and- Reigne-san- I should have-”
“It’s fine.” Mob turned his head to peer down the little trail to another section. “My brother and the others are feeding the crocodiles.”
Serizawa’s heart skipped a beat as he frantically stared ahead. “WHAT.”
Mob’s voice remained steady, but he punctuated his words with a short laugh. “Don’t worry. I don’t think a crocodile could take them on. Plus there’s zoo keepers monitoring the entire thing.”
Lowering his arms, Serizawa tried to catch his breath. A few of the fish swam by, their forms distorted from both the surface of the water and thick glass window. Four conversations, no five. Parents talking over kids. Loud footsteps on the wooden planks that lined the ground. All that with the constant, wet smell of algae.
“The first time I went to the zoo, Ritsu had just mastered walking.” Mob looked out over the water continuing in his monotone. “My parents had the stroller for him, but he still wanted to do it all himself. I barely got to see any animals because I was so worried about him.”
Serizawa looked into the enclosure as well. It’s fine. Everyone is fine. You’re fine. His fingers were still clenched, tongue pressed against the roof of his mouth.
“After when we were heading back, my mom took me aside and said she was proud of me for watching over my little brother so well. But-” A glance up at Serizawa. “She said there’s no need to do everything all by myself. We are a family, we have friends.”
A long exhale. Everything melted away accept for Mob’s voice. Serizawa could now feel the auras of all the others: Shou, Teru, even Reigen, and senses their emotions. Calm, happy. It’s fine.
“Do you mind getting your brother and your friend?”  Serizawa cracked a smile. “I’ll wrangle up Shou.”
A bit later they now all sat around the classic outdoor table made of rubber covered metal that formed a crude mesh so the employees didn’t have to worry too much about weather or cleaning. Serizawa recalled sitting at one when he was little with his mom as they waited for some fast food. That one had an umbrella though. Don’t need one now: not with the clear weather and good company.
“Hey, I was only gonna touch one.” Shou pointed a ketchup dipped fry at the others. “When else will I have a chance to pet a crocodile?”
Teru looked up from his burger. “Maybe try when the zoo keepers are not right there?”
“Not my fault you were too chicken.” Shou grinned back.
A scoff. Teru leaned back and crossed his arms. “What about Ritsu? He was standing back with the all the rest.”
“I was trying to get a good angle for a photo.” Ritsu didn’t look up from his food as he answered.
Reigen and Mob had gone back in line for more food. They returned triumphant with more fried, unhealthy goodness.
“Alight, got some desert. Mob said he’s never had a churro so here we are.”
Reigen set a cardboard tray in the middle and sat down; eagerly eyeing the double decker burger he had been forced to leave behind.
A smile from Serizawa, lost in thought as he listened to the kids talk about their day so far.
“So Serizawa.” Reigen was speaking from a half full mouth, pointing with his burger in hand. “You enjoying your order?”
“Oh! Yes!” Serizawa stiffened before grinning back. “Though I thought a corndog was going to be something different.”
“Right? I remember getting one as a kid when some American fair came to town.” Another bite, some of the sauce dribbling down Reigen’s chin. “Still tasty. I swear they make this stuff to be addicting.”
The burger was nearly gone now. Still so many sounds and smells. Serizawa took some breaths and focused on the conversation happening in the moment.
“Do they have wolves here?” Teru was gazing out down the path toward other habitats. They were mainly small mammals and birds. “I hope they don’t keep them in little enclosures.”
“No, it’s a big area in the back with trees and little dens they put into the walls.” Mob took a bite of his churro and suddenly forgot what he was saying.
“Yeah, this place is kinda famous for it.” Shou chimed in. “That and the lions.”
“Lions?” Teru’s face lit up.
“Wait.” Setting down his soft drink, Shou raised an eyebrow at Teru. “Have you never been here before?”
“Um.” Teru started to tug at his shirt, looking away. “No? I mean it’s not like my parents took me. And um- I guess-“
“The schools never have field trips here anymore.” Mob met Teru’s eyes and gave a nod of his head. “They claim it’s too expensive. But you’re here now.”
“Yeah.” Teru’s face softened. “It was worth the wait.”
Serizawa had kept back, not wanting to interrupt, but now invasive thoughts were flooding in. School, his failure, the bullies, just wanting to hide in his room forever. He closed his eyes for a moment before letting the toxic memories into the light.
“I’ve never been here either.” The kids all looked over at him. He had to glance over at Reigen to get enough strength to continue “Th-the schools back then took trips here all the time. I was pretty excited to go. Wouldn’t be stuck in some stuffy classroom or hallway for once. But well-“ He was gripping the stick of his corn dog so hard it broke in his hand. “There was an incident with some bullies the week before and- um- and-“
“Ugh they always do that.” Reigen gave Serizawa a pat on the back. “Even my teachers did: punish both the bullies and the victim. As if taking away fun activities and privileges would help.”
“Hey, kids are cruel man. Spesh with anything different.” Shou nodded at Serizawa. “Sorry you weren’t able to find a good bunch until now. The night class people seem pretty chill.”
Serizawa’s muscles relaxed. “Yeah, it’s nice to not always have to worry.”
“Being your true self is hard around the wrong people.” Added Teru. “But bullying has gotten a bit better, what with the student councils and all that. They get more power and police each other.”
“Oh yeah my brother was doing something with that.” Mob stole one of Teru’s onion rings with no resistance. “What do you think, niisan?”
Ritsu had said very little, and even less now. It was not due to the current subject, however.
“Pfff.” Shou nudged Ritsu with an elbow. “You here in the same reality with us, dude?”
He was looking down at his food, hands holding up his head with a distant stare. Serizawa grew worried.
“Um, are you alright?”
A sigh. “This is the most unhealthy, horrible thing I have ever eaten.” Ritsu spoke in a low, serious tone. “I’m probably going to get sick after we get home.” His head sunk lower. “But I can’t stop eating it. Why is it so good?”
“Ah.” Shou held up one of the churros. “The existential crisis of fried dough covered in sugar.” He playfully dangled in front of Ristu. “Truly a conundrum.”
Everyone gave a friendly laugh, even Serizawa. His experience with food had been quite limited until recently, relating easily to the bliss of trying something delicious even if it was bad for you.
The noise was still getting to him even after they ate. So many random and chaotic ones mixing together. Serizawa would calm down for a moment before a small kid would scream right next to him. In between there was the music and smells. He followed the kids along into the building hoping that would be better. Nope. Now all the noise was contained in an enclosed space leaving him feeling claustrophobic. He focused on his friends enjoying the animals.
Mob had lagged behind, what with the last area being dedicated to frogs. Not wanting to get separated, Serizawa hung back as well. A group of adults pushing strollers went by. Each were loudly complaining about the cleanliness of the place, and in their own little bubble, they nearly ran over Mob’s foot. One of them turned and gave a cruel sneer. Mob shrank back, holding his arm and looking at the floor. The same group almost bumped into Serizawa as well.
He wanted to help but one of the babies starting crying, causing the others to join in. His limbs froze, muscles knotting. The room spun for a moment and he looked up to check on Mob. He was having the same reaction, backing away and breathing harder, his shoulders tense.
“Hey, there’s a cool ant display ahead!” Teru had walked up and taken Mob’s hand. “Wanna watch them carry little leaves and stuff? They have all these clear pipes you can see them travel through.”
Serizawa smiled as they walked by, Mob now calm. Maybe he could get the same relief. The babies continued to cry while he stared at his footsteps, ignoring the mini crowds in front of every glassed enclosed snake, lizard, and spider they passed.
“What’s on your mind, Serizawa?”
Another sudden jolt as he was forced out of his head. They had made it out of the building but that just meant even more differences to deal with. Serizawa blinked before turning to see Reigen at his side. He found himself standing in front of a ground enclosure where the animals wandered around in an open air pit behind a fence.
“You seem really focused. Never seen one before?”
He wanted to say something but failed to conjure up anything concrete, instead turning his head toward the enclosure. Inside sat a few large, furry mammals. Their fur was brown with big eyes and snouts
“It’s a capybara.” Reigen brought up a hand. “They are the largest of the rat family and in some areas are actually classified as fish to avoid religious traditions of food consumption.”
Serizawa leaned a bit to the side as Reigen gestured, looking past to see an information sign with the same words his boss was stating at this very moment. He couldn’t help but grin.
“They seem very calm.” Serizawa shifted his gaze to meet Reigen’s eyes. “And rather cute.”
“Ha ha. Yeah.” A blush formed on Reigen’s cheeks. “I guess they are.”
A large crowd wandered past them, some breaking off to yell and point at the capybaras. Why can’t he just be in the moment? Why does he tense up every single time? It’s not like he was doing it on purpose. Serizawa let out a grumbling exhale while wrapping his arms around himself. But one of his hands was stopped.
“Hey, you need anything?” Reigen gave a light squeeze to Serizawa’s hand. “I did say you could ask if you needed.”
Serizawa inhaled, no longer hearing the random noises, immune now to attempting to read every sign, only smelling the cheap body spray Reigen used every day. Tears welled in his eyes but he forced them back.
“I- I can’t do this. It’s too much.” The first words came out shaky but he managed to keep them calmer and low now. “The kids are enjoying this so much, so I can’t just go home when they need me. But- but I can’t- there’s so much here and I can’t seem to focus and-“
During the desperate rambling, little pebbles started to rise and float around Serizawa, as well as Reigen’s ball cap.
“Hey.” Reigen had a hand on Serizawa’s shoulder now, looking straight at him, face serious but kind. “I used to work here you know.”
Breathing fast, Serizawa concentrated on his boss’s words.
“I thought I was going to get to play with animals and stuff. Nope!” Fingers up, gesturing out toward the other half of the zoo. “It was all shit. Picking up shit. All day.”
Serizawa had stopped crying and was lost in a state of confusion and admiration.
“Still, I had to finish my summer out so I just tried to push through.” Reigen continued. “That definitely did not work. But I did learn one thing: there’s this cafĂ© that barely anyone goes to. Families all want fried food and animal toys and stuff, but this place just has tea.” He stopped flinging his hands around and held one out for Serizawa to take. “Wanna take a break and go there? The kids will be fine on their own for a bit.”
Instead of taking the offered hand, Serizawa wrapped his arms around Reigen and pulled him into a hug.
“Yes! I’d like that.” Serizawa mumbled into his boss’s shoulder until he realized what he was doing and released his hold, stepping back and fumbling his arms in front of him. “I mean, if that’s ok with you, Reigen-san.”
His boss nodded back, still recovering with his hair messily sticking out from his ball cap. “Sure thing, big guy.”

#ttpd analysis day four - Down Bad
the analogy of being in love/lust/just in it and being abducted by aliens is so brilliant and for that reason this is one of my favorite tracks.
showed me this world is bigger than us given the rest of the album makes me think of how the narrator references the idea of wanting and having children, and it being repeatedly taken away (talking rings and talking cradles/pushing strollers/you let me give you all that youth for free). but i could also see this just meaning that their love itself felt like an ascension (a dwindling, mercurial high/you showed me colors you know i can't see with anyone else)
i might just die it would make no difference reminds me a lot of right where you left me, everybody moved on and fell behind on my classmates, and i ended up here - essentially the narrator it not needed to anyone. also for no reason at all this is one of my favorite lyrics and the way she sings it scratches such a specific itch in my brain
waking up in blood / staring at the sky are two compact but very descriptive points - the waking up in blood again continues the alien abduction imagery but also calls back previous lyrics and references to being wounded (beneath my scars, pierced through the heart, if I bleed you’ll be the last to know). the sky reference makes me think of i still talk to you when i’m screaming at the sky, essentially the narrator is asking the universe why (The Prophecy has now entered the chat)
did you take all my old clothes / just to leave me naked and alone? this has a few meanings, one is that it again perfectly fits the alien abduction situation, but then looking at the larger body of work, there are multiple references to clothing (the dress I wore at midnight/I dress to kill my time/my Eagles t shirt/jacket ‘round my shoulders) and from a psychological standpoint, clothes are used as a signal for your personality/the (typically public) image you want to portray. it’s sociologically how we look at a crowd or group and see people we’d most likely relate to. so it’s almost like the narrator is saying you stripped me of everything that makes me, me. i’d like to be my old self again but i’m still trying to find it
they’ll say I’m nuts if I talk about the existence of you - i don’t really have an analysis per se but this is such a good description of gaslighting that we see peppered throughout the album

Lately the unit was actually customized a bit, as this former baby carriage grew to become more compact and comfortable thus turned into the buggy. A number of different modifications to functionality along with design and style brought towards the consumption of modern terms for you to express stated. Any time you go through the traditional changes with this unique baby unit one will note precisely how distinct the idea is actually now from that particular unit that was initially developed.

No more are travel luggage transported in hands; the actual universal shopping container is at the new parent's service. As you can view currently our great grandparents possessed simply a slight idea regarding what great pushchairs or strollers should include, nowadays all is available in baby shop.

This is where choosing to rent a car makes all the difference. Having access to a vehicle allows travelers to explore every corner of the city, from Mount Royal Park to the charming cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, without time constraints or the inconvenience of crowded buses and trains.
THE VALUE OF FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM

Baby Stroller and Prams Market Sees Shift Toward Lightweight, Multi-Function, and Travel-Friendly Designs
The Baby Stroller and Prams Market is undergoing a significant transformation, with consumer preferences shifting toward lightweight, multi-functional, and travel-friendly products. As modern parenting lifestyles evolve—especially in urban and suburban settings—brands are responding with innovative designs that prioritize convenience, portability, and versatility. These shifts are not only influencing product development strategies but are also reshaping the competitive landscape of the global market.

Changing Parental Lifestyles Drive Innovation
Today’s parents, especially millennials and Gen Z, are more mobile, tech-savvy, and conscious of both aesthetics and functionality. Dual-income households, increased travel frequency, and space constraints in urban homes have propelled demand for compact, easy-to-carry strollers and prams. Many consumers seek all-in-one solutions that can adapt to various settings—whether it’s navigating city streets, folding for car travel, or converting into a bassinet or car seat for longer trips.
Consequently, traditional bulky models are falling out of favor in many developed markets, while compact and modular options with folding mechanisms, adjustable seating, and lightweight frames are gaining popularity. Brands such as Babyzen (YOYO), UPPAbaby, and Bugaboo have already capitalized on these trends, offering sleek designs that meet the dual needs of style and convenience.
Lightweight Designs Become a Market Standard
Weight reduction has become a major priority in stroller engineering. Parents now prefer strollers that weigh under 7 kg, especially for daily use, travel, or rideshare integration. This demand has led to the use of advanced materials such as aluminum alloys, high-grade plastics, and carbon fiber composites, which allow for durable yet featherweight frames.
Beyond materials, design improvements such as single-hand folding, removable parts, and modular wheels have streamlined usability. Lightweight strollers are particularly attractive to urban parents who frequently rely on public transportation or need to stow the stroller in tight spaces, such as apartment closets or car trunks.
The Rise of Multi-Functionality in Stroller Systems
Multi-functionality is no longer optional—it’s an expectation. Modern parents want strollers that serve multiple roles over time, reducing the need for separate baby gear. The most successful products in the market now feature 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 configurations that combine a stroller, pram, and infant car seat into a single unit. Others include features such as reversible seat directions, adjustable handlebars, storage compartments, cup holders, and even phone charging ports.
These innovations are especially appealing to cost-conscious consumers who see greater value in long-term use and versatility. Moreover, multi-function strollers appeal to sustainability-conscious parents who prefer investing in one durable, long-lasting product rather than several single-use items.
Travel-Friendly Designs Gain Prominence
Travel-friendly strollers and prams have emerged as a key segment within the market. Airlines, travel agencies, and parental blogs increasingly promote ultra-compact stroller models that can fit in overhead airplane compartments or collapse quickly for check-in. In response, many manufacturers are designing strollers that comply with IATA (International Air Transport Association) cabin baggage size restrictions.
These travel strollers often include carry straps, waterproof covers, shock-absorbent wheels, and even backpacks or travel bags for ease of portability. Families on the move—especially those embarking on international trips or road adventures—are now gravitating toward products that eliminate logistical hassles and offer consistent comfort for the child.
E-Commerce Accelerates Product Access and Awareness
E-commerce channels, especially platforms like Amazon, FirstCry, and BuyBuy Baby, have played a major role in disseminating knowledge about advanced stroller models. Online product videos, user reviews, and parenting forums help parents make informed choices based on their specific needs—be it city commuting, hiking, or air travel.
This digital visibility has also made it easier for emerging brands to penetrate the market with niche offerings that cater to specific lifestyle preferences, such as eco-friendly fabrics, stroller-scooter hybrids, or app-connected smart strollers. As a result, competition in the premium and mid-range stroller categories has intensified.
Regional Trends and Market Opportunities
In North America and Europe, the demand for compact, stylish, and tech-enabled strollers is growing rapidly, often driven by social media trends and influencer endorsements. Urban dwellers in cities like New York, London, and Paris increasingly favor strollers that combine fashion-forward aesthetics with practical features.
In contrast, emerging markets in Asia-Pacific and Latin America are seeing rising demand for cost-effective, durable, and travel-adaptable stroller systems as birth rates remain relatively high. India and China, in particular, are becoming fertile grounds for local and international brands offering lightweight, multi-use stroller options at accessible price points.
Competitive Landscape and Future Outlook
The market remains highly fragmented, with established players like Graco, Chicco, Peg Perego, and Britax facing growing competition from newer, more agile companies that focus on specific needs or innovations. Customization options, limited-edition collaborations, and subscription-based stroller rental services are also gaining traction in metropolitan areas.
Looking ahead, the market is expected to see further segmentation as brands tailor products to niche audiences, such as twin strollers, jogging-friendly models, or AI-enabled features that monitor movement or child comfort. Sustainability will also likely become a defining factor, with greater interest in recyclable materials and carbon-neutral manufacturing processes.
Conclusion
The global baby stroller and prams market is clearly evolving in response to modern parenting needs. The shift toward lightweight, multi-functional, and travel-friendly designs reflects a broader desire for products that align with mobile, space-efficient, and convenience-oriented lifestyles. Brands that invest in user-centric innovation, while maintaining safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal, are well-positioned to lead the market in the years ahead.
