So unfortuantly my actors for the shoot over the past few days pulled out on me a last minute. This put me in a difficult position and I had to rewrite most of the script on a shot time frame. Thankfully my girlfriend took the time out to come and shoot with me at Cardiff bay, so although I didn’t get a lot of the shots I’d wanted, I still got something which is defiantly better than nothing.

They got back to me!!!!

So to do a quick sum up - I applied for the job even though it’s meant to start asap in Berlin, offered the possibility to do freelancing for them from abroad via server until I graduate and then move to Berlin to work there. 

Their response was that they’d want me to be on the site rather than working from abroad because of tax reasons, but they wanted me to keep them updated. 

I’m over the moon happy with this response because this is a channel I’ve been looking up to for a very long time and to be able to hear that they find my work impressive just means a lot. It’s a reinsurance that you should always have the guts to apply for jobs you think you’d never get.

thought of adding few words about the website, even though I have mentioned the showcased projects beforehand here on my blog. 

I wanted the website to serve a very visually simplistic look. Since I am a big user and a fan of instagram, I thought of a similar layout where I could play around with a cohesive aesthetic that would not only look pleasing to the eye but also would serve a practical purpose. I like the fact that when you hover over the picture it reveals the project’s name. I altered the layout by putting the strngrs club project in the center, since it is the only cover photo that features more than one person. The aim of the website is to build up enough relevant content so I could swap out old projects with newer ones. 

I also added my linkedin as well as instagram to the website. 

Overall I am super pleased with the website and the amount of work I actually put into it, I think in nowaday’s digital age, having a professional looking online presence is key to not only freelancing but also to maintain and hold up a respected reputation among other creatives. It’s all about elevating the way you want to be perceived.

What makes them good? What shots sell well? How to make it different to from what has already been done?

started looking into looking different country hotel promo videos and soon realised they all look a bit too generic, realised I had to opt to a different direction and perhaps look at more luxury hotels
