im sorry if I asked this twice but when I went to submit my question it glitched out so I’m not sure whether to not it submitted but what would happen for example since Graves is an Eagle variant he had a bird variant significant other was a bird since birds will preen with their mates so what would happen ? I’m truely sorry if I asked this twice last time it glitched and I wasn’t sure it submitted.

Like all my other headcanons where the Reader is the same as them, he’ll get more confident with pursuing you since you know the mating/social behaviors already! He first approached you by trying to make himself bigger than you, looming over you even if you’re taller. Height isn’t gonna stop him from tryna bag him. He’s big with sticking by you, when the two of you are talking his tail is always swishing and his tone is slightly softer and less commanding, showing that during free time he treats you differently than the others and that you clearly mean something to him. He likes having a hand on your waist, especially if you lean into him while doing so his tone goes up a pitch. He’s just so excited to give the guy a break.

He’ll ask his shadows for advice on what type of gifts to give you if you’re close to any of them. They’re all cheering their boss on and will gladly also talk to you to find out more about your interest to report back to him. Graves shows a big deal of trust to you, letting you watch over his back and making sure that he has yours. He lets you take care of his wings behind close doors, and if someone comments on how nice his wings look he puffs them out just a bit to show off how nicely you take care of him.

I like to think that Graves is a bit protective of his Shadows/You, so during harsh weather in a mission, he'll cover you and as many as he can under his wings. Or you'll assist him with your own wings as well and the others will make a comment on how they're like your babies. He tries to seem annoyed by it but the idea of taking care of your young together has his heart soaring!! You're already such a perfectly capable mate, and with the shadows following along, the both of you are practically parents.
