irogami : piece of grater
Designed by Gensuke Kishi Produced by Tsuboe Co., Ltd.
A grater shaped like turning over a piece of paper. The turned corners just fit the edge of the hand. You can grate food with a new feeling as if you were directly grating with your palm. Rather than grate a large amount of food at once, you can ginger, garlic, cheese, etc. on the dish and sprinkle it, and you can easily use it in various scenes. The “irogami” is a compact grater that fits in the palm of your hand in a style never before seen.

Was reading about the turn to 'invocation' in contenporary art (referencing canonical works without necessarily challenging the previous work but borrowing its canonical context to reify the new work in association with the older one) and i think pop music has started doing the same thing. I feel like bland spotify pop will reference an older, iconic song as a way to associate the (worse) new song with the (better) old one with absolutely no other actual connection. Why did this middling pop song reference orinoco flow.

I went to the library yesterday and was genuinely surprised with how up to date the books are. it made me feel like I was out of touch. I didn't realize how many books were full of references to current life, not just the life that was put on hold and left behind during covid. I guess I was expecting the library to reflect what I had been thinking. it's a bittersweet feeling: I'm relieved that libraries are full of modern and contenporary resources, but I'm sad that I felt left behind. even guilty. it feels like I was ignorant about something I care about. I totally could have gone to the library at any time and seen that kind of change. I guess I was stuck with my idea of libraries from when I was a young in school--libraries were never my safe place or anything, but I loved going to them. I remember what my experiences were like back then. I used to read a lot! I won't be mean to myself for not knowing what I didn't know. I'm turning my shame into excitement for this next chapter of my life! I can't wait to go back and support them and check out more books and read more! 📖📚📜🩷✨

Today’s cozy yet sophisticated apartment seduces us with its earthy colors, smooth lines, and unparalleled lighting fixtures.

With the creative brain of @artpartner_architects this Mumbai interior merges neutral tones with representative materials from contenporary design such as marble, polished wood, leather, and metal.
To match the architectural and decorative masterpiece, the furniture selection dives into sculptural forms and plush pieces that display an elegant authenticity.

Artist Research - Aoife Cawley

I wanted to do some research into an artist that works with beads and embroidery on printed textiles and that is when Aoife Cawley’s beautiful print and beadwork came to mind.
Aoife is a printmaker and textile artist from Kildare, she is currently a student and is graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee with a BA in Contenporary Art Practice.

Her work is primarily focused on stories and people from folklore. There is much inspiration drawn from Celtic motifs in her work as well as a heavy emphasis on using bright and bold colours to draw attention to our history, yet also modernise it and reimagine the work within a contemporary perespective.

I believe Aoife’s work is relative to my moment project through the similarities in the mediums we work with. Aoife uses bold and bright colours with the intricate beadwork on the textiles to add a sense of depth and contrast within the work, as do I. And Aoife has also produced work where there are examples of the body of some of the figures are moving.
