"I felt free," he explained."

"When Styles began therapy about five years ago [so in 2017], he was reluctant initially, feeling it was a music industry cliché. "I thought it meant that you were broken," he said. "I wanted to be the one who could say I didn't need it." He returned to the home theme that has underpinned our conversation, explaining that therapy has allowed him to "open up rooms in himself" that he didn't know existed, allowed him to feel things more honestly, where before he had tended to"emotionally coast.""

"Recently Styles began to work through issues related to intimacy, dating, love. "For a long time, it felt like the only thing that was mine was my sex life. I felt so ashamed about it, ashamed at the idea of people even knowing that I was having sex, let alone who with," he said."

"You look back, especially now there's all the documentaries, like the Britney documentary, and you watch how people were abused in that way, by that system, especially women. You recall articles from not even five years ago, and you're like, I can't even believe that was written."

He has been thinking a lot recently about autonomy, ownership, privacy. About what he should be able to keep to himself, what he should be able to simply communicate through his music without follow-up questions or prying. Around the time of Fine Line, he faced scrutiny around his sexuality. People became incredulous that he wore dresses, waved Pride flags, and yet hadn't clarified with precision, publicly to a journalist or on social media, the specifics of who he'd slept with, how he defined. This expectation is, to him, bizarre, "outdated." "I've been really open with it with my friends, but that's my personal experience; it's mine," he said.

Despite the acceptance that some things could, should, have been different, he still feels lucky every day, he said, lucky to make music, lucky to do what he loves.

"You can't win music. It's not like Formula One," he said. "I was like, in my lifetime, there will be 10 more people who burst onto the scene in that way, and I'm only going to get further away from being the young thing. So, get comfortable with finding something else that makes you happy. I just found that so liberating."

"I just want to make stuff that is right, that is fun, in terms of the process, that I can be proud of for a long time, that my friends can be proud of, that my family can be proud of, that my kids will be proud of one day," he said.

Steddie Angst Prompt: Nepo Steve + Undiscovered Musician Eddie

Eddie is trying to make it big in the music scene but people don’t get ‘discovered’ nowadays, even with a manager, it’s all about who you know. And Eddie gets the chance to mingle after subbing for small band who were one member short. He scores an invitation to tag along to a party. A high profile party.

And Eddie’s manager gives him a tip: the son of C. Harrington, owner of huge record label GNH, will be there and he so happens to bat for the both teams.

Nothing is said directly but it’s heavily implied that if Eddie can manage to shake this guy’s hand and flirt his way into a few dates… that can be his in.

So, okay, stringing along some rich entitled asshole born with a silver spoon in his mouth? Eddie’s game. Doesn’t hurt that the guy is easy on the eyes, even if a little too on the preppy side for his tastes.

And he does it. He gets his few dates, but no word has reached Harrington senior about his music so it looks like this might turn into the long game.

Except that Steve is sweet.

Eddie didn’t count on Steve being so sweet.

Eddie didn’t count on Steve showing active emotional interest. To spill his heart out to Eddie and reach with such lonely hands practically begging to be loved.

Eddie didn’t count on falling in love either.

Maybe Eddie can have his cake and eat it too, right?

The single first-time daddy Robert woke up at home with contractions. His water suddenly broke and the contractions immediately worsened. He could barely speak when he called the ambulance. The paramedics picked him up and drove him to the hospital in a hurry. After only one hour with almost unbearable contractions, he gave birth to his beautiful little baby girl. He decided to name her Caroline.

Fuck It Friday

Finally back writing! I've had the most insane 2 weeks on delivery suite and praise be, it inspired some words! Enjoy some of my elusive Buddie Doctor AU!

Chimney’s lunch tray clatters onto the table, and Buck’s words die in the back of his throat. “You’re needed in room four, lovebirds,” he announces as he picks up his sandwich, inspecting the contents before biting into it with a shrug. “Both of us?” Buck asks, confused. As far as he was aware, there wasn’t anyone anywhere near delivering, let alone needing NICU involvement. “You sure it’s room four?” Eddie sounds sceptical and he eyes Chimney with a raised eyebrow. “I examined her less than an hour ago, before they started the drip. She was only just 4cm, there’s no way she’s delivered by now.” “Yes sir, room four,” Chimney confirms through a mouthful of egg and bread. “Went in there 5 minutes ago to set her up for an epidural; Hen told me her contractions had suddenly come on and she was screaming her head off. Got as far as getting her beside the bed before she had another contraction and the baby fell right out into her underwear. It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen, and I don’t think I’ve seen Hen move quite so quickly before.” Chimney chuckles to himself as he takes another bite. “Anyways, the cord snapped, and baby isn’t breathing great. I’m surprised you didn’t hear the emergency bells.” Buck’s head snaps towards Eddie’s and their eyes meet, twin expression of shock etched onto their faces. “Fuck,” they blurt in unison, their cutlery clattering on their trays as they push up from the table and sprint for the door. “Thanks, Chim!” Buck calls over his shoulder, hot on Eddie’s heels.

The contractions got worse and more exhausting throughout the night. 18 years old Maximilian found it very difficult, and had to get some extra oxygen for a while. Fortunately he had a very skilled and caring obstetrician by his side. After almost 36 hours, obstetrician Felix could welcome Maximilian's little daughter Emily ♡
