A Crimpella — VoicePlay music video

This is one of the more odd and creative things VoicePlay concocted early on. They turned a collection of phonations, sound effects, nonsense words, and foreign language lyrics from two dozen songs into a delightfully goofy performance art piece. You will almost certainly recognize some of the samples. The set-up is a little drawn-out for my taste, but once the beat kicks in, it's off to the races.

Michael Sean McCary (December 16, 1971) is a singer and musician, known for being a former bass singer of the R&B group Boyz II Men (in which he was sometimes known as Mike Bass).

After an encounter in a school bathroom with the members of Boyz II Men, he started singing along with the group and became the group’s new bass singer. After signing to Motown in 1991, they released their debut album, Cooleyhighharmony. Boyz II Men would start to climb music charts with songs such as; I’ll Make Love to You (1994) and Water Runs Dry (1995). In 1996, the group released the single One Sweet Day with Mariah Carey. Boyz II Men are known for their vocal harmonies.

In 2003, left Boyz II Men due to back spasms that were diagnosed as multiple sclerosis.

He kept his condition from the other band members and did not make it public until 2016. In an interview with Oprah, band member Wanya Morris stated that there was a rift in the group caused by his lack of motivation. Morris accused him of not showing up to work altogether and that the group had to carry on without him.

He reunited with his former Boyz II Men bandmates at their August 30th, 2024 show, and hinted a reunion might be in the works.

He was shown in the pilot for a talk show called A Pound of Paula, which wasn’t picked up. After a few years in retirement from performing, he returned to touring in 2007. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men is an American R&B vocal group that originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the late 1980s. Wanyá Jermaine Morris (July 29, 1973) is a singer, known as a member of the R&B group Boyz II Men.

He sang in the school’s choir along with the members of Boyz II Men (called Unique Attraction) joined the group and became a permanent member as a freshman. After signing to Motown in 1991, they released their debut album, Cooleyhighharmony. Boyz II Men would start to climb music charts with songs such as “I’ll Make Love to You” (1994) and “Water Runs Dry” (1995). In 1996, the group released the single “One Sweet Day” with Mariah Carey. Boyz II Men are known for their vocal harmonies. Morris sings tenor vocals in the group. He appeared in the group Black Men United as he performed with Boyz II Men for the single “U Will Know”, which featured on Jason’s Lyric soundtrack. He tours with Boyz II Men as of 2023.

He was one of the celebrities who would compete on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars. He was partnered with professional dancer Lindsay Arnold. They made it to the semifinals of the show, they finished in fourth place overall.

Additional television and film appearances include: Happy on the Ground (2013), The Odd Couple (2016), Whose Line is it Anyway? (2017), Hollywood Darlings (2017), To Tell the Truth (2017), Long Shot (2019) and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (2021).

He appeared in the Christmas special, A Very Boy Band Holiday. He performed during I Can See Your Voice.
