i think it's good and right when there's a body horror element to the concept of the soul. when the metaphysical and the physical are intertwined by blood and sinew and sweat. when you have this invisible, intangible vital organ burning up inside you that can be torn out and leave you eviscerated; flayed open with no outward apparent physical injury. when a body without a soul is just a carcass that hasn't realised it's rotting yet, the useless discarded remains of a butchery. when the wrong body can reject a poorly matched soul like a transplant. when the soul is something that can become corrupt and putrefy.

y'know sometimes i love lancer because im able to get so engrossed in the lore (both cannon and that that we craft for ourselves), and i can make such rich interesting characters and imagine such cool things with all it gives us

and sometimes i love lancer cause with a little help from @corsair-mercenary-companies's karakorum + ramjet + 3LLs in ssc i can make a LL9 mech that can go 80 spaces in one turn :D

#hope the ping is alright #i can drop the silly build if ppl are interested #it's literally just karakorum core + fluid intake supercharger + jackrabbit + ramjet #also it can do all of that ignoring cover and ignoring difficult & dangerous terrain if it wants #and that turn is only a 7 heat turn #sure you stress when using the core power but one stress for 80 spaces + pankrati is worth

#i be sniffin peoples brains n shit #did you know that the brain actually faintly smells of metallics as do most organs #i mean it's kind of expected since like yeah it's covered in all those head juices such as the blood and the cerebrospinal fluid #some people describe it to actually sometimes smell like chicken meat or slightly flowery though in different stages of oxygen exposure #I'd like to think my brain has quite the scent of almost watermelon like some other people say #but there is technically no general scent of a brain #the body organs in general tend to just kind of awkwardly smell of metallics and then also just freshly killed meat #as does any mammal though #alright I'm on a tangent 💀
