#⟢ ── the inventor .ᐟ#⤷ self inserts#cassia - pronounced ca-say-uh is now taking the spot of dawn in my selfship with navia !#this took me awhile to decide as i wasnt sure who to pair my lovely cass with#i originally wanted cassia to be an hsr oc but i quickly threw that idea away#<- bc im not friends with the ppl who i was making a world with anymore. so instead i brought her back as a genshin s/i !!#she’s primarily based off rebecca steam from monster high bc they’re both robots with real hearts and both of them were created by very ->#skilled/talented inventors. in this case cassia was created by alain a little less than 500 years ago and was supposed to be his assistant#eventually - after he founded the research institute and later died - cassia was shut down and hidden away until she was found ->#almost 500 years later by a team of researchers from sumeru. they powered her back up and she’s been doing her own thing ever since !#sometimes she visits the researchers in sumeru and provides her own knowledge to them#they’re kinda like her family in a way#now she works at the fontaine research institute and is constantly locked away in her lab. many people r intimidated by her title of ->#‘the mad inventor’ cause that’s all they know her by. they dont know her real name and she doesnt wish to tell them

ohhh you guys are reading bsd without suspending your disbelief. you guys are expecting to get a clear cut perfectly understandable scientific explanation for something that can't actually happen in the real world, and then you're upset when you don't get it. you're forgetting that bsd has always had fantastical elements in it and it is not meant to be a 1:1 replication of Our World. you don't have to know and understand every single scientific concept being talked about in the recent chapters; you just have to be able to get the general idea and realize that this isn't the real world, so it won't make sense by the standards of our reality. then maybe you can stop whining about how nonsensical all the dialogue is and start appreciating the story itself
#ive been so baffled by this bc. like. i took one (1) basic physics class in high school 7 years ago that i was failing for most of the year#but ive been able to keep up well enough with what's going on in bsd to like. understand the science theory on a base-level i feel#but i just saw a post and something clicked. people expect this to make Real Life Sense#guys tripolar singularities created by magical abilities ARENT REAL#you HAVE to suspend your disbelief and remember bsd was never realistic fiction#it's the same with jjk tbh#so many of the cursed techniques are CONFUSING if you look only at the specific details#but if you look at. like. how kirara's ability affects the events of the plot when she uses it#you can get at least a base level understanding for how it works#while knowing nothing about the scientific explanation for magnetic pulls or whatever#like maybe asagiri is offering a genuine plausible theory for what might happen IF abilities were real in our world. i dont know#i dont have enough knowledge in theoretical physics or whatever for that#what i CAN do is suspend my disbelief and not expect the explanations to make perfect sense to me#then look at the outcomes in order to work backwards and understand some of the dialogue explanation#'dazai wouldve lost me at 'youre still at the airport'' well first of all you're not even trying#and second of all. of course. because that's not really possible in our world. but it IS in atsushi's.#(and third. that's not dazai. that's dazai's voice in atsushi's head. but i digress)#hello grace here

ok i think if i made a canterlot wedding to be death note then twilight would have to be matsuda ?

The Genshin_Romance subreddit is honestly one of the funniest places on Genshin related reddit. Like I'm used to Tumblr and Ao3 being so incredibly gay, that being recommended that subreddit in my feed, a place where gay ships aren't allowed, is such a culture shock. The best part is that there are 14k members and they all have literally the worst and most boring taste in heterosexual ships like I think the funniest one is Wriothesley x Clorinde.

suddenly realising that a decent amount of our system's dysfunctions might be due to OCD 😭😭😭
#i dont even know how to explain the thought process im having but i think i found the root of one of our major issues#like. it stems from our start in the tulpa community. the worry that we're 'forcing' or 'puppeting' someone who wants to be independent#we didn't know where the line was in willogenicism of where you stop controlling them and they're fully independent#that idea becoming a dysfunction was fully because we personally misunderstood our own system origins we were never willo#the community we were in was really helpful in helping us figure out that we are an adaptive system not a created one#it felt like 'controlling' them because we were more of a proxy-median sys back then and the lines between us were blurred#now it's easier to see the distinction between everyone's thoughts and actions but back then we were only just aware of being a sys#but it seems to have evolved into a sense of never knowing when a headmate is fully formed and when it's okay to 'influence' their forming#avoiding headmates BECAUSE we're worried about fucking up their formation#but then that in itself fucks up their formation because they have less time in front to solidify fully#how we neglect our own system and fellow headmates out of worry of fucking it up#yeah that might be an ocd symptom#finally breaking that barrier of worrying we're mislabeling our issues as OCD and it's pretty provable we have it now#has had a sudden and huge impact on how much anxiety we're having on a daily basis#like we're all super weirded out right now because this sense of calmness and assuredness in who we are and what we're doing#is. so weird and alien. its like two layers of an art program were misaligned and it looked super chaotic before#and someone just clicked like 3 buttons and realigned it perfectly and the whole image suddenly makes sense and is less eyestraining#our heart palpitations have slowed down too. like that's a Physical indicator our anxiety is hugely reduced#just from having that knowledge of WHY my brain is the way it is and knowing what exactly to ask for help with if i need it#same with figuring out we were autistic it was a whole worldshift that made everything make so much more sense#i felt like so many of my mental issues were a confusing soup of randomness and I'd never find a real diagnosis for any of it#like we were just some mental frankenstein of disparate symptoms that would always be an outlier in a way#just didn't want to spend our life being essentially 'undiagnosable' because we were just too weird and confusing and niche#now it's like. oh. oh shit all these unrelated things are actually related? that makes so much more sense now#connecting all these separately distressing behaviours that were never thought to need comparing before#because it all felt so truly unrelated it didn't even occur but now i see they all come from almost the exact same places#and also finding out recently that a lot of mental conditions I've considered i might have but weren't sure about#are classified as ANXIETY disorders. that makes a ton of sense to me now. i never knew OCD was an anxiety disorder until now#if i had known that sooner i probably would have connected the dots years ago I've KNOWN about my anxiety#i am diagnosed with GAD i knew these issues were anxiety based but OCD makes my behaviours from that anxiety make more sense

VERY funny when i have a panic spiral about whether or not i "know" anything about something integral to my field (i have a phd) and start frantically looking up syllabi and required reading lists (i have a phd) and then i realize i've read a solid number of the texts recommended (i have a phd) and the ones i haven't i'm at least familiar with in a "someone else cited them bc it's an older critique" way or they're outside my specific interests (I HAVE A PHD)

Theyre going to think I like canon and purely canon if I keep going on like this

ISNT THAT COOL??just to say 'buy our stupif fucking thing' they bring together so many ppl#to do what humans do BEST!! THEY WORK TOGETHER AND CREATE!! I feel a bit wary saying this because it doesn't feel quite real yet, but! had my last week of college classes last week. I still have to get through my last exam period but it's very odd to think this degree is almost over and done with. many thoughts about it in general.

TIME TO RAMBLE#I think degrees in general are a very normalized stage of life but it felt so abnormal to me to go through so i thought id#share my thoughts. because theyre complicated!#i chose a degree solely based on my interests. which may haven't been the smartest choice all in all#considering i dont think it'll grant me any job opportunities and well.#considering my main aspirations is to Create some sorta something it at the very least widened my breadth of knowledge.#but i have to admit im mostly very frustrated. because while its obviously natural to laser focus on studies#my creativity's really stagnated over the last 3-4 years. kinda feels like i wasted my time on something and kinda missed the train whateve#that means. idk. art history was a lot more rewarding than film thats for sure because film theory is unfortunately mostly complete bs.#and honestly every year of college was a complete disaster on a personal note i dont feel like getting into but each year was surrounded by#so many bad circumstances that the fact its gonna be over feels like. it isnt over until its over. im still scared something will pop up an#will suddenly yet again fuck things up for me and this degree Wont happen. idk.#but yeah mostly i an very much looking forward to practical art studies. something to actually idk. make me feel like#im making the most out of myself. instead of trapping it under mountains of collegework. and stagnating#will probably be deleted later idk what im getting at writing this here. disillusionment or whatever

the Third discourse is about people on one side claiming not knowing the odyssey is anti intellectual and evil and the odyssey is fundamental to being human and weeping about literacy while explicitly mocking oral storytelling and African literature. The other side is Africans making fun of the first group by pointing out the Odyssey was originally orally transmitted for centuries, the Greeks took heavy inspirations from Asia and Africa (the Levant, Mesopotamia, and Egypt), and that a lot of people dont know Sundiata or Anansi despite them being very culturally significant to millions of people

Okay I think if you study literature in English you should know the Odyssey.#But you DRAMATICALLY improve school performance in non-white students the second you include culturally relevant material#This actually has an effect where just creating classes for ONE cultural group causes non-wjire students outside that group to perform#Better than they did even in the absence of material geared towards them.
