Happy (late) Mother's Day to Momma Io and to Till... (who is not pregnant but always delivers), so I take this moment to cry over them for the nth time.. I love Io as a character, even though they play a little role in the story, Io fits so seamlessly in Till's and stands as an amazing figure and a callback to Till's nature and his own character. The parallels are already apparent, but compared to other characters as of now, aside from some other characters, Till's nature was allowed to foster rather than die out because of the cruelty of Alien Stage's world. Till was loved and nurtured by a human for a small part of his life.

One of my favorite things about Till will always be his honest and earnest heart, he's a feeler and a very openly emotional person, best put by Vivinos, "some people might think he is an 'easy guy' (sentimental/emotional) because he seems to get excited easily by even the smallest things"

When Vivinos regards him as more affectionate, soft-hearted, and humane than the other characters, I think back to Io, who nurtured him so that he would retain such a gentleness as he grew up, had he been born in any other situation, no doubt he would've turned out a different person. It is only because of such a situation that he became a person with such a big heart

It was Io who gave him the chance to pursue his passion for art and music, even if it could've been to their detriment, even if Io had their own fears about it, io prioritized his ability to do what makes him happy over everything, just reading her perspective, and the way just looking at him in his happiness melted their heart endears them to me, even if they are merely his "provider" in their universe, in all ways they are his mother to me. That was why Till never stopped creating and always chased that happiness, even after their separation, and no doubt the scar that must've left on his subconscious, that fear didn't stop him. In a way, Io also represents a hope because they show so much humanity within themself to love Till in the first place, even though their circumstance weren't within their control, they resented the aliens a lot, they were both trapped and lonely, but Io wanted Till to be happy anyway

It's so interesting how much family and familial ties matter to characters in Alien stage. HyunA had Hyunwoo, Mizi had Shine (Even if it's quite twisted in multiple ways), and even Luka is implied to have wanted that much. The characters even find family within each other, so because of Io's influence, Till would never stop searching for that kind of love and wanting to give back that same care. He, alongside HyunA, represents humanity because they're the closest to the sense of the word in these little ways, in ways we can recognize in our world, thank you io I miss you lots

What it means that Till likes Mizi because she's "pretty"

Fans hear Vivinos & QMENG answered in a nonchalant manner that Till liked Mizi initially because she's pretty and conclude his love is shallow and vain. But this doesn't refer to external appearance alone but rather how her internal beauty shows on the outside.

In the free Patreon post ABOUT <Drowning Bloom>, it's explained:

Till is seeking authenticity and someone who shares his values of beauty, nature, kindness, love, etc. He finds her pretty the same way he finds flowers pretty:

When Till likes Mizi because she's "pretty", it refers to her smile, her warmth, her kindness. Mizi is one of the first people to show him kindness after he arrived at Anakt, and she is always kind to him.

A different Patreon post explains:

Till actually doesn't know Mizi very well. It's simply her smile that makes Till willing to risk everything for her and sing; this shows his pure nature. He's just a boy experiencing the innocence of first love.

Till resolves to protect her because he doesn't want her brilliance to be dimmed by anyone or anything.

But he fell in love with her at first sight

Till isn't wrong that he "felt a spark" between them on their first meeting. Till is an INFP (Fi, Ne, Si, Te) and Mizi is an ESFP (Se, Fi, Te, Ni). Till has Fi primary while Mizi has Fi auxiliary and that's likely what he felt. He could tell she values the same things he does, and for that reason she would be able to understand him. Because they're alike. However, because his Fi defines who he is whereas Mizi's is a skill she has to develop and does not easily go to, perhaps that's why she did not feel the same way.

If she were gloomy, if she were mean, he would not like her because she's "pretty." He would look elsewhere for someone who could understand him.

went on a 6 day vacation last week which was nice but also a lot with a 1.5 year old lol she did good tho 🥰

BUT while i was up there we stopped by this really cool bookstore and they LITERALLY HAD THE THIRD COMPENDIUM. the bookseller told me they special ordered it for someone who ended up not wanting it and that they’d just put it out on the floor that morning lmao it’s like it was destined for me 😏
