Start note : The one time Ford ventured into the Gravity Falls woods on his own—a few summers after the Weirdmaggedon, and found himself face to face with a creature so familiar yet so foreign, that he froze like a wax statue, in awe.

“One way to absolve his crime, a different form, a different time.”

This quote from the poem the Axolot revealed to Dipper and Mabel was left to interpretation, many have considered that Bill would return as a human, and it made me think… in theory, he could be anything ! He could be a turtle, a lion, a squid… a tree, a rock, anything ! So far I’ve seen people draw Bill as a triangle, a human, a cat, a fox, and even in a axolot dragon-ish form….but what about a fuzzy, pocket- sized creature that bites your hands and knocks stuff off your shelf?

My main inspos for Bill’s fantastic beast design were the combination of three animals: a great horned owl, a lynx, and a woolly bear caterpillar*. However one of my friends pointed out that he ressembles more to a ferret with his build, and honestly yes, especially in his shrunken down form. Also some may point out that his smaller version looks very closely related to brushbuddies from Witch Hat Atelier (I may have been inspired from there as well), except Bill’s hind legs are situated farther away on the body…kinda?

End note: the photo quality of traditional drawings is atrocious, it’s so blurry 😩 Maybe I should start migrating to digital art; though I can’t quite grasp the techniques on screen yet.

**P.S: Also, this was mostly inspired by Bill’s rambling about “returning as a caterpillar in 1976” in this awesome comic here by @stemmmm:

Emergency Commission Call!

Hey all, universe continues to throw me curve balls. I got laid off with one of my jobs (Corporation going for an automated approach, reducing everyone’s hours, I had the least experience so I had to be let go >:( Even though they told me they were going to keep me on past the holidays.) As a result, I’m struggling to get enough to support myself. Calling upon goodwill and art commissions to get me through the next few days before the first of February. Currently trying to get up to $750 for rent, though more would be welcome. My Commissions are open, here is some examples of my digital and traditional works.

Concepting what late stage dungeon demon Bill could look like, not enough teeth I think

Got into sewing a bit this year, made 2 lil baby bill ciphers to bring to Disney :)

The one with the bigger shoes has magnets in his feet so he could sit on my shoulder like the little Disney shoulder plushies, and the other one I gave to my sister has a little voice box and sings lalalalala when you squish him

I finally got around to draw my human Bill! hes still subject to change as i draw and write more about him :]

From being a big and powerful demon to a broken husk of what he once was, everything that was suppressed and hidden out of sight became a tonsure to his mind. Due to all this his physical form became a mirror, showing his troubles in the form of nerve damage, mobility issues and losing some features of his original self.

Tough time and healing he'll one day regain his original self yet the journey is long, straining and unkind.

Bill Cipher and my thoughts on his human form idk

Idk still brainstorming, lemme cook I promise this gets better than uh

I know his head is an awkward shape but I thought I’d give him a rounder head considering his hair is a literal triangle, a sharp shape.

Bill Cipher (human form) full-body

TW: Partial nudity.

Start note: Wooh! I finished with this, finally ! This is like the one time I’m drawing this guy in boxers only. So fear not, Bill Cipher has not chosen the path of utter decadence (it’s alright guys, he just needs his bow tie). I wanted to add cipher text too but considering the size of my drawings, let’s just pretend he’s got some more tattoos with glow in the dark ink. Nothing much to say except that Bill is now a scrawny little guy (with a ginormous ego, lots of sass but not much ass) who trips over his own feet. He might have two eyes now, but his depth perception still sucks.

Quick list of body markings and how he got them:

-burn scars: this occurred when he spawned in a human vessel, gaining a physical form was an increasingly painful process of his body getting twisted and reshaped in flames.

-shatter scars: a wink to the blue scar he got from getting punched in the eye in Stanley’s mindscape. Each time he abuses of his powers, new (temporary) cracks may rip and spread over his body. The only permanent one is on his face.

-brick tattoo pattern : to replicate the brick pattern on his triangular form.

-eye tattoos (x4) :two open on each shoulder, and two closed, one on the clavicle and another the upper back. Acquired them during his transmutation.

-star markings on chest: acquired them during his transmutation. (Yes, we can say it’s some badass top surgery scars)

-ankh tattoo on right forearm: Ankh, in Egyptian mythology, is a symbol for life. Bill drew it on his forearm back at the Theraprism with washable markers but it stuck to him when he acquired a human shell.

-triangle-shaped spot on the neck: this is more of a ‘birthmark’, it appeared when he lost his triangular form. Additionally , in alchemy triangles represent fire…so…👀 -summoning wheel on the back: I….just thought it would make sense for him to have his summoning circle printed on his back. I’ve seen people integrate it in his design in the past. “Made in china” sticker core, I don’t know.

-black line tattoos on wrists: they represent a continuity and the additional chain tattoo (which is barely visible on the picture but it’s there!) on his left wrist is there as a seal for the covenant between him, Soos, and the Axolotl. It’s a reminder that he is regulated by a strict set of rules, one of which is not to leave the premises of Gravity Falls until he is deemed fully reformed.

End note: now this would be interesting to unpack the whole concept when I write the fic. (hopefully my hyperfixation won’t go away by December, otherwise good bye fic idea 😔)

a look at flatlander anatomy inspired by @rjalker’s post about bill not being able to eat if he was supposedly flatlander-esque and needing a feeding tube + my own personal headcanon that those silly straws mentioned were said feeding tubes used for “fussy eater baby billy”
