Dementors: feed on human happiness & thus generate feelings of depression in any person in close proximity. They can consume a person’s soul, otherwise known as the Dementor’s Kiss, leaving their victims in a permanent vegetative state or at least close to one – if you’re lucky.

Mind flayer: A gargantuan and spider-like being at least 50 stories tall. Its most distinctive feature is the ability to take control & command of the the Dementors alongside human beings. A horcrux of Voldemort’s.

The Upside Down: An alternate dimension existing parallel to the human world. It contains the same locations & infrastructure, but much darker, colder and obscured by an omnipresent fog. The main breeding ground for Dementors.

PLOTS

SYNOPSIS. a stranger things / marauders era mashup. the death eaters have opened a gate inside of hogwarts; dementors resistant to the patronus charm are attacking the muggle world; students and children have begun to vanish. anyone who looks too deeply into these disappearances at all? obliviated. enter a group of unlikely wizards and witches, unwillingly united over one cause.

SUBPLOTS (semi in order)

001. LOST BOY. Neville goes missing in the upside down! Time to stress out!

002. IS THIS THE END? Muse A begins to feel like they should give up on saving the muggles, as Muse B’s mental health is declining due to frequent exposure to the Dementor’s Kiss. Muse C protests against this, starting a slew of arguments. In general: angst.

003. EXPECTO PATRONUM. Time to face the Dementors! Except that Expecto Patronum surprisingly doesn’t work. Muses then begin to doubt themselves, let alone if their happy memories were good enough at all.

004. COLD NIGHTS. Immediately after 003 due to exhaustion, being Depressed tm after the Dementor’s Kiss and general danger– our muses are stuck in the Upside Down for the night.

005. SPY NEVILLE. The mind flayer has taken control of Neville, self explanatory!! Cue conflict over what to do with him a la Stranger Things style.

006. SPLIT UP. The muses split up on various missions. As agreed in the chat, we’ll try to make the most incompatible pairs (or trios) possible! One group is fooled into venturing into the Upside Down by spy!Neville
