Diluc on his knees between your legs, lapping at you like a man starved. Your legs are draped over his shoulders, thighs occasionally squeezing around his head. He's completely lost in you, barely aware of anything until you're a shaky, whimpering mess, tugging at his hair in an effort to get a moment of respite. That's when he realises, on either side of your hips, seared into the old oak desk, are a set of handprints from where he held on to to balance himself. Diluc can't possibly part with his father's desk, and having it sanded down would also feel wrong... The ink stain he'd made as a child would disappear as well... But he can excuse his flushed cheeks with something trivial as the heat and hide the marks with some strategically placed papers when he has people over.

Requested by an anon; Anaxa with a partner who gets apathetic instead of crying or acting out. ~400 word drabble.

Anaxagoras enjoyed silence. It let him clear his mind of anything superfluous and focus his efforts on the desired topic. Loud clamor also had its merits, a sign of lively exchanges of opinions.

Right now, he wished either would fill the oppressive air of your shared home. Upon returning from a symposium, Anaxa had found you face down on the chaise longue in a state of misery. At first, you'd been unresponsive, briefly causing relief to flood his veins as the idea that you were merely asleep seemed plausible.

Then you'd uttered a muffled "don't ask" before heaving a sigh so deep it was a wonder your lungs didn't collapse, and his heart squeezed almost painfully.

Half an hour had passed of Anaxa continuing his usual routine, shedding the intricate layers of his clothes one by one until left only in trousers and a cotton shirt. You'd said nothing. Groaned and turned your back on him while unrest continued to smolder in his heart. If only you would express what was troubling you so. Once verbalized, anything could be dealt with if he simply started at the top and began unravelling.

But you had explicitly told him not to ask.

Whether that meant he was the problem or you simply did not want his help was uncertain. The thought of both options only had him repeatedly threading his fingers through his already thinning hair.

What was it that you'd previously done when he had been the one burdened by defeat?

Anaxagoras drew closer to you, having to stifle a smile when you turned your head to pout at him. With little fanfare, he grabbed your shoulders and adjusted your body, hauling your head into his lap. It only took a few seconds before you relented to his touch, turning on your side and curling up to bury your face against him.

"You're not going to ask?"

He barely caught your words, settling into a comfortable rhythm of stroking your hair before answering. "I am not. But I will listen, should you at any point feel inclined to enlighten me."

Most of his worry died down when he caught the hint of contentment in your eyes, allowing himself to finally relax after leaning down and kissing your temple.

Something I love about six of crows is that it doesn't have the "Save the world" of the " for a greater good" trope. No. They are just a group of traumatized teenagers with weird talents that decided to destroy economy for their own good. And im not saying that is good, but I think it is highly human. They are not selfless, they all need to survive one way or another in a place where only the rich live comfortably. + they find people they can trust and rely on, they become a family of young criminals and that is the cutest thing ever.
