Clover, She/her, 20 y/o
Clover is fiercely loyal and generous, but sometimes forgets to think about herself. She lives completely off the grid and is good at working with limited resources. While kind and gentle, Clover is also very secretive, and seems to forget simple facts about her life, which puts her new roommates on edge.

EAH Parents' Name Headcanons Part 2
Huntsman - Hunt! Because why not he named his son Hunter Huntsman. I'm guessing the family is either bad at names or they really wanted to emphasize they're hunters.
Mrs. Huntsman - Terra, meaning earth. I wanted to give Mrs. Huntsman a earth theme name like Hunter's little sister's name is Ferny. I couldn't think of any names that would fit so I picked Terra.
Candy Witch - Candy Breadhouse, yes I know it's bad/lazy! I was thinking of naming her after an ingredient like her daughter, Ginger. Or something candy relatedlike : Cocoa, Peppermint, or Vanilla. After some thinking Candy seemed to be the perfect fit since she does make candy along with other sweets.
Mad Hatter - Hatthew a mixture of Hat and Matthew. I think the Hatter family would have names related to madness, hats, andtea parties. His middle is also ukulele.
Alice Liddel -Alison, meaning noble and exalted, I believe after her adventures she befriended everyone in Wonderland and moved there. I think that's why the Wonderlanders are so close with each other.
Queen of Hearts - Victoria, after Queen Victoria. I think Lizzie's name is based of Queen Elizabeth so most of the Heart queens are based off of real queens names. Fun Fact - Queen Victoria enjoyed the Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland and ask Lewis Carroll for another book (info here).
King of Hearts - Hugh, meaning heart, mind, and spirit. I think it fits perfectly since in the original story the King of Hearts would pardon whoever the Queen of Hearts wanted to have executed.
White Rabbit - Melvin, which was Mel Blanc's real name. I didn't really have any idea what his real name would be. Since Blanc is his last name and I loved watching Looney Tunes as a child, I just went with it.
Red Queen - Mary, after Mary 1 of England (aka Bloody Mary). Like I said with the Queen of Hearts I'm using names based off real queens.
White Queen - Anne, after Anne Boleyn. I really couldn't think of any other queens to name her after so I picked one of the most famous ones. Plus the whole being co-ruler with another queen who threatens others with beheading them seemed like an oddball pairing.
Cheshire Cat - Katherine or Catherine, the names mean pure (I don't know if the Cheshire Cat would hate or love her name due to how ironic it is for her). I can't decide on which one to go with. Their cat pun names, Kitty's name already starts with a 'K', heck, she probably uses both spellings to mess with people.
Dark Fairy - Darcie Thorn, meaning dark, the perfect name for a dark fairy. For extra irony in the books she wears white because light has no side. So it's a light and dark situation.
Goldilocks - Goldie, meaning a person with blond(e) hair. I wasn't really expecting much just a name meaning gold or yellow.
King Charming - Dashing, I do not believe Lance Charming is the Charming children's dad. There are a lot of prince charming in the world of Ever After. Heck, Charming is probably an average last name in their world! Plus the main Charming family names started with As, Bs, Cs, Ds, Es, Fs, Gs no Ls yet.
Queen Charming - Marie, after Marie Antoinette the last queen of France. I think Queen Charming is where Darling gets her rococo/ Marie Antoinette fashion.
Rapunzel - Violet, meaning purple. I just picked a flower name for her, plus Holly and Poppy's color scheme does have purple in it.
Robin Hood - Roadrunner, I think they just name themselves after birds.
Maid Marian - Martha, meaning the lady or the mistress. In the book Maid Marian was adventures and only acts ladylike in front of Headmaster Grimm so she can keep her job.
Pied Piper - Alto, meaning high and elevated, it's also a singer's voice range.
Little Bo Peep - Lila, meaning night and play. I just wanted a name that sounded close to Lily.
Swan Queen/ Odette - Countess, a noblewoman with the status of an earl or count. Duchess's name is a status lower than a princess, so the Swan family is mostly named after ranks.

I was upset the SSR with highest NP level in my Chaldea is one I hate - Ozy. I was wrong, it was actually Altera. It wasn't until the game threw 1x Unregistered SO at me for a new copy of her that I realized this. Altera, please, you got the wrong person, I'm not Hakuno.....stop coming. (She's still lv90 but not on the field much).
Unrelated is that item resembles the spike collar on Morgan somewhat.
Not sure how many players always strive for No CS boss/challenge battle, it's another self imposed difficulty similar to not using OP units. I think there are some battles that No CS run are almost impossible without OP support + attacker. But if one wants a challenge that much why not try to do both No CS + low rarity? Got Goldie when I rolled for CE and I did burn him. Never need him for any battle or challenge quest anyway. Never seen him as indispensable in a fight - there would always be other vids with other units used. Same for Emiya.
Arjuna Alter, I have to wonder if he went insane from absorbing all the deities of his pantheon. It probably doesn't help that they would 'pamper' him. Someone pointed out in the original text he was brought up to believe disabled = evil.

Not to come back for a brief moment with what one may call a 'kicking the hornet's nest' moment, but people do realise liking CinemaSins is subjective right? Yes, it did use to critique films seriously (eg. poor writing and non-consistent shots), but then they found their style and moved to comedy, and comedy is also subjective.
I watched CinemaWins and personally, I didn't like it, and that's OK (but I do of course, respect his enthusiasm for films and media). You're allowed to not like something lmao. I understand if Jeremy picking at tropes is annoying, but that's also his/the team's whole shtick? It has been since the beginning. It's a comedy show. There's comedians out there who make me wonder why they even have the title of comedian, but again, subjective.
CinemaSins IS intended to be comedy. They do what they do FOR comedic purposes. And I feel that if you're taking said comedy routines that seriously (especially as the jokes are pretty inoffensive and not targeting any specific person (unless it's Trump lmao fuck him)), you should take that energy and use it for something you genuinely love, like writing! Or art! idk how else to say this but comedy can land for everyone, some, or no one. It's just how it is.
#goldie speaks#there was the 'scene doesnt contain a lapdance' but that one has long since been phased out#so much so idk when it was last said#yes there are moments where jeremy says something wrong (calling grievous a robot for example)#which I do critique bc that's a case of the joke just flat out not landing#but I'd be lying if I said the sin counter dying bc of whack shit in fast and furious didn't make me laugh#I can understand if people think the shows more negative than positive as a viewing experience. absolutely#but again. once again. comedy is subjective#idk if this is worded perfectly ghdjkgd but my point is the subjective part if u couldn't tell LMAO#also putting this on no rb for now bc I'm continuing to have a break from the internet and I don't#want to come back to a flame war ghfdg#also you're allowed to not like CS I don't want to bash people for it. it'd just important to me to remember its roots

Do androids dream of electronic beats? – cover feature and documentary
Blade Runner returns to cinemas this week, with a new sequel among the millennium’s most anticipated blockbuster movies. But for a generation of electronic musicians who grew up fantasising of C-beams glittering near the Tannhauser Gate, it’s like it’s never been away. Ever since director Ridley Scott’s ground-breaking original, starring Harrison Ford and scored by Greek composer Vangelis, wave after wave of artists have mined the science fiction classic for inspiration. Blade Runner’s influence has infiltrated pop, hip-hop and beyond – but it is electronic musicians who have proven most gripped by the film’s murky vision of a future metropolis where the line between what is human and what is artificial is dangerously blurred.
youtube
From Massive Attack and Goldie to Boards of Canada and Dillinja, plenty have sampled it. Even more have referenced it, or carried an atmosphere indebted to the film’s world. In 2017, electronic musicians continue to find inspiration in its neon dystopia, pointing to a movie that wasn't released when many of them were born as a key influence.
The movie, an adaptation of Philip K Dick novel Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?, told the story of Rick Deckard, a police detective specialising in the hunting down and “retiring” of humanoids, known as replicants, after violent uprisings among these AI machines. As important as the film’s plot, however, was its mood – an intense, opulent paranoia that pervades every corner of the dark, neon-lit Los Angeles seen onscreen. Vangelis’ music was key to this atmosphere of beauty and dread.
Since its inception, science fiction cinema had experimented with electronic instruments to help build the impression of eerie alien planets and futuristic vistas. 1951’s The Day The Earth Stood Still saw composer Bernard Hermann use theramin to give an otherworldly feel to its tale of a visitor from outer space. 1956’s Forbidden Planet meanwhile, was the first ever film set entirely in space, and used a score entirely made up of electronic sounds. By 1981, composer Wendy Carlos was using electronic synths to add a futuristic edge to Stanley Kubrick’s controversial classic, A Clockwork Orange.
Blade Runner was different, though. For Ridley Scott’s film, Vangelis used electronic instruments including the Yamaha CS-80 and Roland VP-330 VocoderPlus synthesiser, to create a rich, melodic score that was equal parts grand and anxious, fusing Greek and world music elements. It was also largely improvised. Vangelis refused to read a script, insisting on composing by simply watching VHS tapes containing footage and making up melodies at his bank of over 12 synthesisers based on the emotion each scene made him feel.
The result was a musical accompaniment to Blade Runner that has become as renowned as the film itself. “It sets an atmosphere that’s delicate and powerful,” Denis Villeneuve, director of Blade Runner 2049, told FACT for our new documentary, Do Androids Dream Of Electronic Beats? “It’s a piece of art that’s at perfect equilibrium, aesthetically and musically.”
Its eerie echoes and spacious synth noises were from the cutting edge of musical technology: the first ever digital reverberation machine, the EMT250, was built only five years earlier in 1976. The digital reverb used by Vangelis, the Lexicon 224-X, was released in 1978 and allowed sounds to decays for as much as 70 seconds. These cavernous echoes were vital in creating the impression of a vast and unsettling metropolis and planet, floating in an even vaster outer space.
“You get swamped by all these amazing ideas,” says Gary Numan of experiencing the film and its score, likening its influence to a sponge in a bath. The English electro-pop pioneer released Strange Charm in 1986, an album heavily influenced by Blade Runner that included a track which sampled replicant character Roy Batty’s now-iconic speech from the end of the film. “Consciously or unconsciously, it becomes such a part of what you love. It’s all gonna come out at some point.”
Blade Runner’s story is one of push-and-pull between man and machine – the same conflict at the heart of electronic music, an art form in which human emotions are expressed solely on machines. Maybe this is the reason for the affinity electronic music holds for Blade Runner. Whatever the reason, and whatever success of this new sequel – electronic music seems certain to replicate the style and sound of that world for decades more to come. As we explore in the above film, it’s not time to die for electronic music’s obsession with Blade Runner yet.
FACT, October 2017

K-8 Computer Science Cohort Playdate
I just got back from the Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) Conference where computer science was a big topic. I have been involved with VSTE for many years and looking back I can see that in 2017 there were 5 CS-related sessions, in 2018 there were 11 and this year there were 21. I helped organize one of these sessions - the K-8 Computer Science Cohort Playdate. The K-8 CS Cohort is on a mission to integrate computer science into the curriculum. This group came together at the CS Institute this past summer and includes teachers and technology coordinators from public and private schools around the state. The group is being facilitated by Jennie Chiu of UVA Curry School of Education and myself. We’ve been sharing ideas, having playdates to try out different learning platforms and experimenting in our classrooms.

The cohort session facilitators included:
Jennie Chiu - UVA Curry School of Education
Kim Wilkens - St. Anne's-Belfield School
Jo Crowder - Albemarle County Public Schools
Goldy Purcell - Campbell County Public Schools
Karen Canfield - Campbell County Public Schools
Kim Arrington - Campbell County Public Schools
Anne Deane - Tandem Friends School
Michelle Dunphy - Prince Williams County Public Schools
During the session, we shared out examples of CS integration work we’ve been doing in elementary and middle school, before, during and after school. We also brought lots of fun CS-related learning platforms for participants to try out like micro:bit, Hummingbird robotics, Spheros, drones, Ozobots, Turing Tumble, BeeBots, Strawbees and Binary Bracelets.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to share the CS work are doing at St. Anne's-Belfield School, to be a part of a community of educators passionate about CS education and to see the ripple effects we are having in CS education throughout the state! You can find resources from the session at bit.ly/k8cscohort. If you interested in joining the cohort, you can contact me and mark your calendar now for the 2020 CS Institute the week of July 6.
